Reading some descriptions of Kirk chess strategy summons the ghost of my ex boyfriend who starts lecturing (academic) me on chess.
#mine#it’s kinda funny tbh#I’ll just be reading fanfiction and then bam#memory of him explaining chess strategy to me#it’s very specifically when people go#Kirk Is Illogical and Playing Randomly#a little is fine a lot is not#chess is a complex game and like#it’s not necessarily about predicting the next move#it’s more like#uhhhh I’m bad at chess okay m#but when I play and typically lose#it feels like I am falling into traps#which is basically what happens#like I wish more descriptions were about Kirk Avoiding Traps#and then if he did THAT in unpredictable ways that negated responses etc#again I’m shitty at chess#I’m just letting the ghost of my ex boyfriend flow thru me#he’s still alive btw
