"Hey, look! A froslass!" Goh yelled as he threw his pokeball.
The pokeball smacked the froslass in the head before rolling away into a bush."
"Uh, Goh, I don't think you'd be able.to find a wild froslass around here." Ash ran up behind him.
"There's one right there!" Goh pointed as the froslass turned to them with an angry look. "The pokeball didn't work."
Frosslass attacked the pair with an ice attack. Ash ducked in time, but Goh was left freezing as it floated away.
"Who's making all that racket!" A voice called.
"Ah, sorry, sir" Goh's teeth chattered. "I was just trying to catch that froslass!"
"This frosloss is my pokemon. You'd do well to recognize the pokemon of other trainers.
"Sorry about that!" Ash called. "Goh can get a bit excited when trying to catch pokemon!"
"Ash?"
"Pika?" Pikachu tilted his head.
"Paul!" Ash grinned. "Long time!"
Goh looked between the pair. Paul's gruff, angry look had changed in an instant. Ash hopped over the bush to pull him into a hug.
"What are you doing here?" Ash laughed as he tangled Paul's hands in his, leaning close.
"You two know each other?" Goh asked with wide eyes.
"Yeah, Goh, this is Paul, my long term boyfriend." Ash held a hand out to introduce Paul. "Paul, this is my friend, Goh, and current research partner."
"B-b-boyfriend?"
"Pika!" Pikachu hopped onto Paul's shoulder.
"Yeah, he's a frontier brain now, but we were rivals when I took on the Sinnoh league!"
"A frontier brain? Woah!" Goh exclaimed. "Have you beaten him?"
"We've gone back and forth with our wins for years." Ash laughed as he tiptoed to kiss Paul's cheek.
"Ash!" Paul pulled away. "We've talked about the PDA."
"I'm sorry. It's just been so long! The last time I saw you was on my way back from Alola."
"What's with you two?" Goh crossed his arms with a weird expression." Raboot's expression mimicked Goh's.
"Ah, well, you see, Paul likes to keep up appearances. He's the frontier brain for the Battle Port. Here, let me show you," Ash stuck his hand into his vest and pulled out a gold coin with a triangle indented into the middle. "When you beat Paul, you receive the rigor symbol."
"Woah!" Goh's eyes looked back at Paul. "How strong are you?"
"Second to Brandon." Paul mumbled.
Ash pat his shoulder as Pikachu climbed onto Ash's head. "He likes to play like he's all mighty and tough."
"I see why he's embarrassed. You're a dork."
"I'm not embarrassed!"
"I'm not that much of a dork!"
They both shot back simultaneously. The pair looked at each other before busting out in laughter.
"Come on, let's head back to the pokemon center you two. I'll pay for lunch."
"Really!" Ash's eyes sparkled as Goh laughed.
"Cant keep Ash away from food."
"Don't I know it." Paul chuckled, wrapping an arm around Ash's waist.
Ash leaned into Paul's touch, and kept his hand in Paul's back pocket the entire time they walked back. Goh kept behind them a few steps with Raboot and Pikachu.
"Are they always like this?" Goh asked Pikachu.
"Pika." Pikachu sighed and shook his head.

After years of putting up with the name comashipping and the constant =//// every time the origins of the name is brought up, a few of us have decided to take the reigns and just go with calling it a different, less severe sounding name.
Anyway, some of us are going to start referring ShinSato/SatoShin (Paul x Ash) as Staticshipping
