HELMET
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Stahlhelm M1916 - The Stahlhelm M1916 is an improved version of the German steel helmet introduced during World War I. Similar to the M1915, it features a distinctive design characterized by a rounded shape, a flared skirt, and a protruding visor. The M1916 model included enhancements to address issues with the earlier version, providing better protection to the wearer. It became a standard-issue helmet for German forces during World War I and continued to see use in various forms during subsequent conflicts. this is the Earliest version of Infamous German Stahlhelm that first fielded inside Imperial German Army. So don't Expect Better Protection like The Later model or WW2 Models. this also Include A German Tricolor Camouflage Designed by General Erich Ludendorff that Eventually Fielded in 1918.
Tumblr media
Stahlhelm Stirnpanzer - Due low Durability and Protection of M1916 Stahlhelm, German Ministry of War Issued Minor Upgrade. a The brow plate (Stirnpanzer), which was fitted to the front of the helmet to provide additional protection to the wearer. However, it's weight (2 kg) meant that it could only be worn for short periods. Approximately 50,000 brow plates were manufactured.
Tumblr media
The Pickelhaube - The Iconic Helm From Prussian Era now Brought back to WWI Fronts. ickelhelm, is a spiked leather or metal helmet that was worn in the 19th and 20th centuries by Prussian and German soldiers of all ranks, firefighters and police. Although it is typically associated with the Prussian Army, which adopted it in 1842–43, the helmet was widely imitated by other armies during that period. It is still worn today as part of ceremonial wear in the militaries of certain countries, such as Sweden, Chile, and Colombia. This Particular Model is cloth helmet cover (Überzug) and For Cavalary use.
Gas Mask
Tumblr media
During World War I, Chemical warfare was a significant and notorious aspect of World War I, and Germany played a key role in its early development. The Germans were the first to use chemical weapons on a large scale, introducing chlorine gas at the Second Battle of Ypres in 1915. This marked a disturbing escalation in warfare, as chemical agents were employed to harm and incapacitate enemy soldiers.
The use of chemical weapons by both sides, including mustard gas and phosgene, led to devastating consequences, causing widespread injuries and fatalities. The introduction of gas masks became essential for soldiers to protect themselves from these toxic substances. Despite the horrific nature of chemical warfare, it did not significantly alter the course of the conflict, and international agreements such as the Geneva Protocol of 1925 later sought to ban the use of chemical and biological weapons in warfare. Gummimaske 1915 - The Gummimaske 1915, also known as the GM 15, was a German gas mask used during World War I. It featured a rubber face mask with glass eyepieces and a filter canister containing layers of absorbent materials to protect against chemical warfare agents. The design aimed to provide effective protection for soldiers against the poisonous gases used on the battlefield during the war. The Gummimaske 1915 was an essential piece of equipment for troops exposed to the threat of gas attacks during this period.
Tumblr media
GM-17 Ledershutzmaske was introduced in 1917 to combat chemical weapons used by both sides in the First World War. It replaced the GM15 mask. It was another iteration of the German gas mask used during World War I. Similar to its predecessor, the GM 15, it featured a rubber face mask with glass eyepieces and a filter canister. The design aimed to provide reliable protection against chemical warfare agents that were employed during the war. The GM 17 continued the improvements made in gas mask technology, enhancing the comfort and effectiveness of the mask for soldiers on the battlefield. Like other gas masks of the time, it played a crucial role in safeguarding soldiers against the threats posed by poisonous gases during World War I.

Lt. Alexander Walsh on his 24th birthday, April 1916, France
Tumblr media
Alexander Bernard Walsh was the second-eldest child and eldest son of Peter and Rebecca and younger twin to his twin sister Edeline. He was born in Newcrest and spent his childhood there before going to Willow Creek for secondary education and later on to Liverpool University, where he graduated in 1914 with a degree in pre-law. Out of national pride and a sense of duty, he enlisted as a commissioned officer in the army, reaching the rank of lieutenant, where he eventually died of wounds taken during the Battle of the Somme.
Alexander was a great animal lover, and while he never had the opportunity to have a pet of his own, he considered caring for the army horses one of his favorite duties. Likewise, he also enjoyed parties and spent much of his time at Liverpool University attending socials, which cost him his relationship with beau Edith in 1912, who would go on to marry the Newcrest mayor's sectary Mr. Clayton. After his sister Edeline's wedding in 1915, he and Edith began a secret affair that lasted until his death. Not even Byron, whom he considered his closest confidant, knew about the affair until his confession on his deathbed.
Alexander is survived by his mother Rebecca, father Peter, twin sister Edeline, younger brother Byron, and his youngest sister Giselle. He died unmarried with no children.

The Darlingtons walked along the road, Florence’s steps growing heavier with every inch. Seeing her struggle, Isaiah ran over to grab her arm, leaving Summer to walk with his sisters. Suddenly they all saw it there, rising from the snow as they walked down the hill: Darlington Manor.
They made the rest of the journey in silence, until they stopped to stand in front of it, silent and separate from this cold mansion. Soon a woman appeared at the window, a child with curly brown hair in her arms. She was beautiful and clearly wealthy, bouncing her child around before stopping to look curiously at the family through the window. Florence waved at her, picturing Adelia walking Rosella through the halls or spinning around with Oliver to the gramophone at midnight.
Florence looked over at her children and smiled sadly, feeling the absence of the three people she loved who were no longer there, the only three people who could have shared in her memories of Darlington Manor. Their absences had rarely been so jarring, leaving Florence adrift in the present, alone with her past.
With a final glance, Florence turned toward her children and wrapped her arms around their waists. She looked at Zelda and said, “let us go, my child, it is time to get you aboard your steamer.”
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
They turned their backs to the manor, walking slowly and perhaps a bit mournfully down the street. Yet with each step there was an increasing buyouncy in the Darlington family.
Isaiah trailed behind his mother and sisters slightly, demurely grabbing Summer’s hand in his own, on the precipice of manhood and perhaps a life with a girl he knew that he already loved.
Virginia’s memories of wartime horrors and blind righteousness had found an outlet where she felt purposeful. She knew that she was going to do good in this world, and she was finally comfortable doing it alone.
Zelda’s fear and attachment to people dead before their time was beginning to ebb in favor of the unrelenting curiosity that she had felt as a child. Maybe, just maybe, she could see the things that she had always dreamed of and be her own woman.
Florence’s happiness was perhaps the greatest of them all. She would never get back her daughter or the love of her life. Yet here her children were, each of them with echos of their father in their faces and their personalities. Seeing Darlington Manor had reminded her of where she and Oliver had come from, and of what they had gone through to get what they wanted.
And somehow they had found exactly the life that they had sought. Their lives had been beyond what they had ever even dreamed about in that field when they were teenagers. There had been more love and freedom than Florence could have imagined, and she had been lucky enough to share it with the man that she loved for almost three decades. Florence stopped and looked into Zelda’s eyes. It was her turn to find the life that she and Oliver had been lucky enough to have.

AUSTRO-HUNGARIAN WW1 WEAPONS Shoutout To @lilis-palace & @chere-indolante For Making Such Great WW1 Uniform Download Link Here
Note: While in reality The Astro-Hungarian Empire Weapons during the Great War Are Hodgepodge of Armament With German Empire weapons that Covered in our Previous Post. This Post Was covering the Homegrown Weapons From Astro-Hungarian Empire that used During WW1 Despite one of them Are Never Actually Exist in Real life. Mannlicher M1895 The Mannlicher M1895 is an Austro-Hungarian bolt-action  rifle, developed and designed by Ferdinand Ritter Von Mannlicher. It  features a straight-pull bolt-action feeding from single-column magazine  fed by en-bloc 5-round clips. The long rifle features a 30.1" barrel,  and the carbine a 19" barrel. Both rifle and carbine feature a  single-piece stock with full-length handguard. It fires the 8x50mmR  cartridge. The rifle was produced at Österreichische  Waffenfabriks-Gesellschaft, Steyr, from 1896 to 1918, and Fegyver és  Gépgyár Rt. ("Arms and Machine Manufacturing Company") in Budapest from  1897 to 1918. Over 3,000,000 rifles were produced, roughly 75% at Steyr.  Bulgaria purchased many M95s, beginning in 1903. It was the primary  battle rifle of the Austro-Hungarian Landwehr and the Bulgarian Army  during World War I, and continued to serve the postwar Austrian,  Hungarian, and Bulgarian armies. Atleast until World War II Frommer Stop The Frommer Stop is a semi-automatic pistol produced in 1912 by Fegyver- és Gépgyártó Részvénytársaság ("Arms and Machine Manufacturing Company")  Known As FÉG of Hungary. It was used throughout World War I and World War II by the Hungarian Armed Forces. Designer Rudolf Frommer adapted the design from another pistol that fired .32 ACP (7.65mm) from a seven-round detachable magazine.  The weapon is unusual among automatic pistols in using a long-recoil system of operation. The Frommer Stop was available in 2 proprietary cartridges, similar to the .32 and .380 ACP, respectively. However, the Stop's cartridges had more powder and fired a heavier bullet. The Stop could fire regular .32 and .380 rounds, though, with less reliability. The Standschütze Hellriegel 1915 The Hellriegel 1915 is a prototype water-cooled submachine gun for or by the Austro-Hungarian reserves (Standschützen) during World War I, by a designer identified only as "Hellriegel". The weapon could be fed from either box magazines or chute-fed. A highly obscure weapon, no complete examples are known to still exist, no documentation remains, the only remaining evidence being three  photographs dated October 1915 depicting the weapon being tested. As a result, its operating mechanisms and development history are pure speculation. Its apparent automatic fire capability and pistol caliber  would make it one of the earliest sub machine gun designs in history.

Special Thanks To: @chere-indolente For Creating such Magnificent Imperial German Uniform... Beau travail mon ami
Oh hello simmers, here we go with another list of the history again. Now we're talking about the historical Imperial German equipments during The Great War a.k.a First World War. These equipments are according to us, impressive since it reflects how the German arms factory would be run afterwards, especially in the Second World War. Okay, let's begi
Mauser Gewehr Modell 1898 Standard issue of the Landser, the foot infantrymen of the German federation soldiers (since every German states has their own army command) under Berlin's command
Bergmann Maschinenpistole 18  (MP-18) Since the capture of the Italian "Villar Perosa" 9mm machine gun at the Alps front, the Germans reverse-engineered it as a Bergmann MP-18 to be issued for the "Sturmtruppe" (the unit which specialised as a trench warfare) as a suppressive weapon. Give them a Edge Over the Allied Force for few years of war.
Mauser C1896 Selbstladepistole  (Mauser C96) The modified version from the Mauser company of the previous Bordchart c93, the first patented semi-automatic pistol. Some version has a stock (which functioned as a holster too) After WW1 It Was Also Popular In Asia.
Luger Pistole 1908 (Luger P08) Johann Luger's idea to simplifise the mechanism of the C96 series. First was to be made for the Swiss' army but later in 1908 adopted by Deutsche Waffenfabrik und Maschine (DWM). One of German Most Popular Pistol in 20th Century.
Luger Artillerie Modell 1917 The elongated barrel version of the P08 model, formerly was to be issued for the Sturmtruppe as a suppresive weapon since the pistols are more agile than the standard 1898 rifle. And some for the artillery units, which has a difficulty with the standard rifle. One of Earliest Machine Pistols that used in WW1
Mauser Panzerbüsche Modell 1918 As well as an armored vehicle rose at the Western front, the Germans had to find the countermeasure of the Allied's armor. Then they came to idea to create a 13mm rifle to penetrate steel layers of those armoured vehicle, Also Known As “T-Gewehr”
Licht Maschinengewehr 08/15 The Scaled-Down Version of Famous Maschinengewehr 08 Which is a one of popular Adaptation of Hiram's Maxim Creations. Using the same airframe mounting geometry as the earlier ordnance to  allow interchangeability between the earlier lMG 08 and later LMG 08/15  models, with the still well-perforated cooling jacket reduced to a  92.5 mm diameter. The LMG 08/15 was introduced in 1917
Geballte Ladung (Stielhandgranate 24) An Exotic Weapons from World war 1. Which The Stielhandgrante M24 grenade based could be used in an improvised "bundle" style with another six explosive heads (without their sticks) wired  around the central stick grenade. These were known as Geballte Ladung  ("concentrated load") and were very effective against armoured vehicles  and fortifications. This anti tank grenade can be thrown very far, both  because it is thrown as far as a ordinary grenade and because it has a 5  second fuse so it slides and bounces instead of exploding on impact as  many other AT grenades do.

Tumblr media
Late November 1918, France
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The war was over. Byron could barely believe it. So much death and destruction, and suddenly, it was over. The war that had killed his brother, taken his childhood best friends, and murdered most of his friends from university was over.
He had stayed in France longer, meeting with his brother-in-law in Paris to then take a train to Edinburgh, where Edeline was living with Montgomery’s family, having sold the London townhome. The married couple was planning to find a place near his family so Edeline could finish her medical studies at the University of Edinburgh.
“Our sisters are meeting us at the train station, yes?”
Montgomery nodded. “Aye. I expect Elspeth will spend the whole time questioning me politics. She has begun to think that I am not communist enough.”
“That’s a first.”
“Well, I’m still religious. In her words, ‘To be real communist, Monty, ya've gotta be an atheist. Religion is the opium of the people.’ I'm the fuckin' one who got her to read Marx.”
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Byron laughed. “Well, contrary to what Marx says, I think opium is the opium of the people.”
The Scot chuckled. “Ya have a point. What, ya’ve read Marx?”
“Yes, and before you start to convert me, I read all sorts of stuff. I find it a good idea to understand ideologies you don’t agree with.”
“Then you don’t think the Russians were right to overthrow their oppressive government?”
“I never said that. But there wasn’t a need to murder the Tsar and his family. They were children.”
“That I agree with.” He frowned. “That isn’t certainly supporting the cause. It will only alienate other nations. I may be a communist, but I don’t believe in senseless murder.”
Tumblr media
“But if everyone else thinks that communists are murderers, those who are passive will be targeted.” He swallowed. “I mean, communism is a wonderful ideology on paper… but humanity is greedy. To have one person at the center of power until the revolution is finished? That is improbable. Power corrupts, no matter how good your intentions are. Besides, Marx and Engels were upper-middle-class Germans whose families owned factories. Communism was their attempt to solve the inequality. Yet, neither man gave up the comfortability of the middle class to be champions of the proletariat. They only wrote about it. Russia will be the first to put it in theory. I don’t deny that I am curious to see what this Vladimir Lenin will do, but I have a suspicion it won’t end well.”
Montgomery was silent for a few minutes. “...Please don’t start fights with me sister.”
“Of course not, this political discussion will stay on the train. Now that the war is over, I expect that the government will be harsher toward other government philosophies, and communists and socialists will be first on the list. And I doubt my anti-imperialist views and membership of several left-wing political clubs during my time at Oxford will help.”
“Agreed,” he muttered, glancing out the window.

June 1915, London, England
Tumblr media
Spring quickly came, and Edeline finally graduated from the London School of Medicine for Women. She was the salutatorian, and her teachers had encouraged to enroll at London University to finish her medical degree, but duty called, and when a job of training volunteers to nurse was offered, Edeline quickly took up the assignment.
Tumblr media
Unlike other VAD women, she was being paid since she was in charge of them all, in charge of training the women, being the only one with academic medical training. It was bloody, grueling work, but she found herself enjoying it, feeling important to be useful. It kept her mind off her worries about her fiancé and brother, about the horrors of war, and her impending wedding
