🍬 but with a twist. what’s a fic idea you’ve always wanted to write but haven’t because it might be unpopular?
I’m not sure this is one that I’ve always wanted to write, but it’s one that’s been burning a hole in my brain for far too long given that I’ve done nothing for it. No real notes, no outline, haven’t even written a single scene for it, and I think it’s because I’m still too afraid to write it. Buuuut…. Lesbian Everlark Tangled AU with Peeta as Rapunzel (still a thick, stocky girl and a thousand and one hobbies, to include painting and baking like just imagine how solid of an anchor she’d be for hair climbing????) and Katniss as Eugene Fitzherbert/Flynn Ryder only more illegal huntswoman than thief (but occasional thief) and I don’t even know what I’d do with that, but it’s been in my head for a few years and I’m pretty sure maybe two people would read it and most of my other readers would send me “Why aren’t you working on X fic instead???” asks. So. There you go anon.

☁️ what made you choose your username?
The fantastic @redandpointy said I write jellyfish fic, about 15 years ago, maybe longer...it might be getting towards 20. It's one of the most insightful things anyone has ever said about my writing, it's entirely true, and beautiful. So I've held onto that. When I needed a new username...maybe 6/7 years ago? It was the one I went with. I think I was using it on ao3 before then.
USS comes from Star Trek, and space jellyfish really suits me.
🧩 what will make you click away from a fanfiction immediately?
When dialogue isn't a new paragraph for a new speaker. I can't find it and it'll annoy me so I can't read it, no matter how good it might be.
🏜️ what's your favourite type of comment to receive on your work?
Anything. Truly. I like a back and forth, because I long to talk about what I'm writing. So questions are fun, or "this part of the characterization is fun"
Anything. I like being read. I like getting to talk about what I wrote more than anything.

Wow, that's a difficult question. I don't know isn't a good answer, right? 😭 When I come up with a plot/theme, I try to write it myself although there are many maaanyyyy people in the fandom who'd write it much much better than me. Hmmm... I wish there were more Abbey and Josh fics, I'd love to read them, because I love both characters and their interaction in those two scenes they shared.

Sneakily making me work I see, but I am here for it! It's 65 words, and it's for the next chapter of The Mahogany Inu.
“I’m bored.” These words were now the refrain of the kitsune child that had joined them on their quest. At first, Kagome took these words to heart. Indeed, Kikyō’s scoff rang in her ears when Shippō would say such things. That was, until the true meaning of the words was revealed. When Shippō said he was bored, what he meant was “please play with me!”

Oh man, I answered this in another ask probably broadly enough it's hard to come up with something (everyone is vers, everyone loves snuggles, intimacy as important as the sex)
So let me see if I can pull in another favorite ship with headcanon. We're going with SessKagu. I don't think Sesshomaru would have let Naraku win by killing Kagura so easily. His family are able to walk through the underworld willy nilly, so I think after Naraku's fall, Sesshomaru would have surreptitiously entered the underworld again to find Kagura.

That's a good question... I guess I saw canon and I thought that things could've been better? I started off writing fanfiction for several different shows (Buffy, Gilmore Girls, etc) and just enjoyed trying to find my way to make my story fit within an established universe.

Ooohh good question : 1) Just had a fantastic larp weekend, last week. if you asked she'd tell you no
or she would feed you some bullshit about how she could hear your awful music through the walls. during exams, she would bitch about you keeping her up late into the night because she could hear you cussing to yourself as you pulled an all-nighter. she would complain about how loud you were after you had had a girl over - a girl whose name you couldn't quite remember even though ellie had heard it loud and clear. hell, she would even talk to you through the wall if she was too lazy to get up, calling for you to come smoke with her or asking what you wanted to do for dinner
what she never told you is how when you first moved in together - the living room still piled with boxes - she heard you that night. of course she did - the walls were so paper thin that she had heard you humming while you got ready for bed. she could hear each time you opened a fucking drawer. and as she lay awake that first night, staring up at an unfamiliar ceiling on top of sheets still dusty from the move, she heard the sharp gasp through the wall
she didn't think anything of it at first. it could have been anything - that's what she told herself at least. and she wouldn't tell you how she had laid there with held breath, ears straining in the silence. she wouldn't tell you how her stomach twisted when she heard your muffled whimpers. you tried so hard to stay quiet - she imagined you biting your lip the way you always did when you were focused. she couldn't stop her imagination from wandering, imagining how your eyes screwed closed, your brow furrowed. in the dark, nobody would know that she wondered how you did it - did you circle your own clit with your fingers, nice and slow, drawing yourself to the edge? did you use a toy? she had an idea of which ones you had; she had snuck a peek into the boxes when you were moving. maybe it was that rose you liked so much? did you slide your fingers inside yourself, swallowing a moan in the hopes she wouldn't hear?
did you think about her?
she would never tell you about all the nights she lay awake, hearing those shattered whimpers from the other side of the wall. she wouldn't tell you about how warmth pooled between her legs when a choked moan slipped from your carefully guarded lips. and fuck, she would never tell you how often her hand drifted between her own legs, her boxers traitorously soaked from listening to her best friend through those paper-thin walls. she would never tell you all the things she imagined doing to you, her own fingers pulling her over the edge - imagining they were yours instead.

I’ve already answered this one here, to include a slight expansion in the notes, if that sort of thing interests you. So for this one, I’ll mention the weirdest thing I’ve researched for an original work. Obituaries for suicide deaths. Started with my grandfather who died when I was three, and finding out he was dead is my earliest memory I can pinpoint. The piece was for a creative non fiction writing assignment. Very cheerful, I know.

My writing tends to be self indulgent, overly smutty, and long winded. Also I like to indulge in first person feeling festivals. So it could be more concise and more showing than telling.

Outside of our group, MAHC has written some of the best Jed/Abbey fics :purple_heart: These are some of my favorites: Masters of their Fates, Given the Force, We Still Have Tonight, Right? or this amazing fic from Mrs. Landingham's POV, A Normal Day. I highly recommend the series by Abby J and Amber L, about Jed and Abbey's relationship, since their first meeting until the late '80s, but I hope they'll write more. There's also this great fic about Abbey and Josh, Harvard Crimson that I love very, very much. Wish there were more fics about the two of them...

I have one piece of the answer in a reply here, but is that going to stop me from answering again? nosiree! I'm really really inspired at the moment by fantasies, often those with Japanese or Chinese undertones. That means martial arts, ascension to godhood with Daoist or Buddhist undertones (think: Heaven Official's Blessing, and Grandmaster of Demonic Cultivation by Mo Xiang Tong Xiu) and cultivation of spiritual energy and power.
I really like the idea that people are not just born magical, and there are rituals and practices they can use to increase their spiritual power.
🐚 ⇢ do you like or dislike surprises?
Foreshadowed surprises that make someone go whoa are really fun. There's a surprise in Yuri on Ice that's delightful and makes the entire media feel different once you know it.
Surprises made for "shock" value with very little foreshadowing? That's not my thing. I'm an emotions sponge, and when something like that feels like it comes out of the blue, I take psychic damage. (It's also why I often spoil any media that has dark or violent themes for myself, I just often do better when I am prepared for sudden violence.)
