It’s been too cold to open water swim, even in a wetsuit, but yesterday, @lee_rebodos and I braved the super cold temps of Lake Grapevine just to test out our race day wetsuit plan! (Shout out to @tommypistana For lending me your neoprene swim cap!) 🐠 . . Good thing, too, because it was very unfamiliar to me! 😬 I felt restricted, like my stroke was off honestly had a tough time putting my face in the frigid water for several minutes! 🥶 I decided to hit the pool in my wetsuit today for another short swim to see if it felt better. It did!!! I needed to pull my sleeves up more so my shoulders had more mobility but I still don’t get my normal reach... (my coach @trishopguy says that’s normal). . . It was also good because Galveston water temps are cold this year, too!!! 💧Current temps are 63 degrees! . . More great performances were had again last weekend.🏊‍♂️🚴‍♂️🏃‍♂️ @caitlinb95_ was 1st overall in her Olympic distance race at Aldeford, and @luke_mills_ttc and Dave did the Lakesman half and full respectively.
