i suppose i will christen this blog with my top 30 wc characters and talk about The Them. i did the favorite picker a few months back and yeah
Tumblr media
of note i did not include anyone from avos on here bc i hadn’t read those books yet (i’m still only partway through tbc lol)
anyway swiftpaw is at the top bc i wrote a swiftpaw lives au and it has spiralled out of control into a 150k+ affair and counting, which i’ll have to make another post about. at any rate i adore him, i think he’s awesome, and i believe in swift/bright/cloud supremacy
ivypool is self explanatory. i think she’s Neat.
longtail and whitewing are both natural extensions of swiftpaw (swift/bright/cloud means he’s whitewing’s other dad in my head). plus i think longtail is super interesting as one of the only reformed villains, and whitewing is also really cool and a good friend/mom.
tallstar is my gay dad. nuff said
i hc mousewhisker as gay and trans for fun (sorry minnowmouse shippers) and he’s the mc of a top secret fanfic i’ve had on the backburner for years (and will continue to stay there bc it’s now entwined with swiftpaw fic and i have to write up to it) so basically i also love him. just a silly little guy
jayfeather, sorreltail, cinderpelt, and crowfeather are pretty standard faves i think. and possibly gray wing? idk he’s Also my dad. dotc was the first arc i read way back when so despite its flaws it’s very special to me. i like that gray wing was just sort of dragged into the plot but genuinely tried his best to do right by everyone even when no one else wanted to.
have you seen moonkitti’s talking video about poppyfrost? it converted me i’m a poppyfrost stan now.
brightheart, dovewing, squirrelflight, leafpool, and hollyleaf are all pretty standard faves as well. i personally headcanon nightcloud as aroace (or a lesbian depending on if i wanna ship squirrelnight. or both oriented aroaces are valid) who got just as much out of a marriage of convenience type deal with crowfeather as he did. i like that story better than her getting reduced to “crazy jealous wife” just because she messes up leafcrow. idc if it’s not canon, justice for nightcloud, she’s a good mom in a weird situation.
i feel like the last two rows are also pretty normal low-tier faves? extra-special shoutout to palebird tho, her arc is one of my favorite things about tallstar’s revenge and i am so glad she got to be happy eventually. her early appearances made me wanna cry with how cruel the other nursery queens were to her.
so there’s that, those are my favorite warriored cats. come tell me my taste is impeccable

heyo this is the person from the jayfeather x harestar and jay, holly, and breeze in windclan ask and yeah pretty much that's what happens. crow is trans in this au and is the one to give birth to them and he's just like "ok these three (breeze, holly, jay) are fine but this one looks a little bit too much like a flamin' hot cheeto can you take him?" and squirrelflight (their mother in this au) is just like "ok i guess?" so crowfeather just comes back to camp with three goth spawns and everyone just accepts that nightcloud is their mom even though it would literally be impossible.
i like the idea that windclan would be completely accepting of two cats who biologically cannot have kits together having kits but if one of those kits is orange? impossible, blasphemy, he has BROKEN THE LAW

Hollypaw thinking about some apprentices she met on the way back from her first gathering...
Or, a fun “The Three are raised in separate Clans” AU. Big Rant and Explanations under the cut.
The base gist of this AU is that Mothwing is the Three’s other parent with Leafpool, and actually recognized that her girlfriend was acting weird and confronted her about it. Thus, Mothwing learns about her kits, and is a big contributor to the resulting conspiracy. Leaf and Moth also never really entertained the idea of running away, since Moth was still her Clan’s sole medicine cat, but the kits were a huge surprise to both of them.
Squilf is trans and won’t take the kits since any cat with half a brain cell in ThunderClan would know they weren’t hers, so they make an alternate plan with the assistance of Crowfeather, since Squilf and Bramble never get together in this AU and SquirrelCrow is cute don’t @ me.
The plan is for Moth and Leaf to fib about getting some omens from StarClan about needing to leave for a while to find an herb or something to help their respective Clans, while in actuality the three leave and Leaf has her kits elsewhere with Moth assisting. On the way back, Mothwing takes Lionkit and Jaykit to circumnavigate Clan territory while Leafpool and Squirrelflight bring Hollykit to ThunderClan. Moth brings Lion and Jay to the Horseplace to meet Crowfeather, who takes Jaykit to WindClan. Finally, Moth brings her son to RiverClan.
The kits are split up based on which clans they think will work best for their body types, since Lionkit has Mothwing’s build, Hollykit has Leafpool’s, and Jaykit ended up looking like his grandmother Sasha.
Squirrel and Leaf claim that they found Holly following StarClan’s omen, Crow says that Jay was left on the border, probably from a passing rogue who didn’t want to deal with a runt, and Mothwing tells her clan that Lion was an abandoned kit in the Twolegplace down south. While RiverClan is reluctant to let their medicine cat bring in a kit, they take pity and figure she needs Lion to take her mind off of Hawkfrost’s recent death.
Crowfeather, meanwhile, had sired Breezekit’s litter as a favor to Nightcloud, something he and Squilf agreed upon, and asks her to take in Jaykit. They’re just friends, nothing more, and Nightcloud agrees since she lost two out of three kits to stillbirth.
So, the three are raised in their respective clans believing that they’re orphans, Lionkit being raised with Pouncekit (who are your parents, Pouncekit.), Jaykit with Breezekit, and Hollykit follows canon to be nursed by Ferncloud. In terms of actual parenting, though, Squilf treats Holly like her own, Crow ends up being Jay’s father figure, and Mothwing gets away with all of her mothering instincts on the pretense of grief. Jaykit also does a lot better in WindClan than he would’ve in ThunderClan, and becomes close friends with Kestrelkit, who he is relieved to discover is planning on being Barkface’s apprentice as soon as possible.
As for mentors, things get fun here. Lionpaw goes to Rippletail, giving Ripple more character development before Omen of the Stars and his death. Jaypaw goes to Ashfoot, since she’s the most experienced warrior and, while Onestar is reluctant to get Jaypaw warrior training at all, he figures that if any cat can do it, it’s gonna be Ashfoot. And Hollypaw goes to Stormfur after her brief stint in the medicine den, because I like Stormfur and it actually calls back to a Shadow in Riverclan, with Feathertail promising to look after Moth and Hawk, so her brother ends up mentoring Moth’s daughter by coincidence. Firestar also figures that Storm can defend her from anyone who thinks Holly doesn’t belong in Thunderclan due to supposedly being a loner’s abandoned kit.
Jaypaw does really well with Ashfoot as his mentor, and she ends up telling him a lot of stories about her deceased mate Deadfoot, and Jaypaw ends up idolizing the guy somewhat. On the other paw, his empathy abilities pick up on a lot of pity from some of the senior warriors, with comments being made about how he should’ve been made a Tunneller like Onestar suggested instead of allowing Ashfoot to train him as a moor-runner. Oh yeah, tunnelling still exists, because it’s rad. Jaypaw does have a pretty good support system, though, mostly in the form of the other apprentices, and especially in Kestrelpaw and Breezepaw, though the latter has been distant since they got apprenticed...
Lionpaw’s best relationship in RiverClan is definitely with Mothwing, since she’s his mother in pretty much everything except blood in his mind. Lion was a bit of a drypaw at first, but his appetite for fish eventually got the better of him and helped him get that glossy coat RiverClan’s known for. However, Lionpaw keeps hearing stories from his clanmates about Mothwing’s dead brother, Hawkfrost, though the molly herself has never mentioned him, and brushed Lionpaw off the one time he asked...
Hollypaw actually struggles the most with her position in the clan, since while she tries her absolute best to be as best of a warrior as possible, there’s a seed of doubt in her mind that, if she isn’t a valuable warrior, she won’t be allowed to stay in ThunderClan. Stormfur does his best to assuage her doubts, since he had a lot of the same ones when he and Brook first took refuge in ThunderClan. Holly remains anxious, despite Stormfur’s best efforts, and the bullying from Berrypaw certainly doesn’t help...
And as a really fun bit: Firestar has no clue who the Three could possibly be.

I feel like Jayfeathertail would be a lot less salty in general but also internally be pretty pissy abt having this second chance at a life she never got to live but her love interest is her fad and also she's blind and forced to be a dude-nun
eh i would go about it in tht she wouldnt actually realise tht she IS feathertail until a little later on- also jayfeather in this AU would probably be a trans woman, not bcuz i rly think reincarnation would alwayz necessitate being the same gender n more bcuz it would add 2 the AU, i think. jayfeathertail Basically startz off a lot like canonical jay but once she startz remembering thingz she sort of- softenz? tho she is frustrated tht she couldnt be a warrior again bcuz she waz damn good at it!
she is noticeably fond of greystripe 2 the confusion of evry1 but herself bcuz thtz her fuckign dad... the fact tht crowfeather is her father is a very odd n uncomfortable thing 4 her, but she is also glad to carry on a piece of him in tht way evn if it well- isnt really in the same way she thought she would back on the journey....... she is also much closer 2 mothwing in this thn canon [much 2 leafpoolz delight] as she is very interested in how riverclan is + leftovr feelingz from whn she waz feathertail [thy dont go anywhere of course]
somtimez she just sitz by the lake n breathez in the air, n feelz glad 2 be alive n with the clanz in their new home..
stormfur coming 2 live with thunderclan briefly is wht startz her memoriez back... she doesnt fully get it until she getz her name probly but whn stormfur is around she is notably more friendly to him thn any1 would expect of the usually grumpy apprentice and seekz out his company 4 reasonz evn she doesnt rly get
yeah im mostly just thinking out loud here so im gonna stop before it getz evn more rambly

hhhh I need to talk about this warriors au sitting around in my brain anyways here goes
Differences in clan custom:
- It’s pretty normal to bring in and/or mate with outsiders so as to keep the gene pool not so... incesty...
- Clans pretty much are a large family unit. It’s not uncommon for cats in the same age group to think of each other as siblings despite not being from the same litter.
- LGBTQ+ is seen as a normal thing and accepted without much question. It’s customary for cats to introduce themselves with their pronouns included.
- Mollies can be deputies/leaders while nursing kits. The idea that they can’t is just sexism.
- Sign language is a standard skill because,,,, let’s be real,,, it’s pretty much practicality.
- Disabled cats can be warriors because the only reason they can’t is ableism.
Storyline changes:
- Tiny was found by Bluestar on her own rather than Thistleclaw and Tigerpaw. He becomes part of ThunderClan under the name of Nightpaw, and later Nightstorm.
- Rusty and Princess join ThunderClan at the same time as Firepaw and Kindlepaw. Firepaw is trans.
- Sandpaw and Dustpaw don’t bully Firepaw. However, Sandpaw is generally unpleasant because of losing her father recently, and Dustpaw is destructive and unpleasant because he and Ravenpaw were loner kits with an abusive mother before coming to ThunderClan. They both get support.
- Ravenpaw stays in the clan and earns the warrior name Ravenfeather. He has support for his anxiety and PTSD.
- Mosskit is the child of Bluestar and Thistleclaw (result of a one night stand). They are non-binary and go by they/them. They’re a ThunderClan cat and their warrior name is Mossheart. They mentor Firepaw.
- Tigerclaw is less Obviously Evil, he’s a lot more covert about his actions.
- Tigerclaw is Snowfur’s son and Whitestorm’s brother. That’s why Bluestar falls apart after that, because that was her nephew and she loved him dearly.
- WindClan doesn’t get kicked out because that’s whack and really never would have happened in any sort of realistic scenario.
- Brokenstar is less... stupid. He makes smarter decisions. Basically, instead of training young kits, he collects lots of rogue allies and wages war on the other three clans.
- Crookedstar X Bluestar instead of Oakheart X Bluestar. Because the idea of this just being a taboo subject that a lot of people kind of know about, but they’re just rumours and like as if our two clan leaders would have had an affair with each other? Gold.
- Crooked X Blue have Mistyfoot, Stonefur and Silverstream. Bluestar pretty much stares down her daughter and thinks “why did she do literally the exact same thing I did” and Silverstream’s death is the first thing that starts pushing her towards breaking.
- Stormkit and Featherkit go to RiverClan without a fight because the claim does belong to the mother’s clan regardless of circumstance. Graystripe doesn’t change clans (he can’t bring himself to leave his entire family for one that won’t trust him) but is still very much present in his kits’ lives.
- Firepaw, Kindlepaw and Graypaw stay apprentices until the end of the second book.
- Dustpelt, Ravenfeather and Sandstorm become warriors before the other three apprentices.
- Cloudtail is Ruby’s son. Ruby is leader of BloodClan (renamed “The Clowder). She couldn’t deal with having a son and leading The Clowder, so she gave him to Nightstorm instead.
- Fireheart, Kindleflame, Nightstorm and Cloudtail actually have significant family relationships.
- Cloudtail, Ashfur and Ferncloud are foster siblings and it’s relevant.
- Cloudtail, Ashfur and Ferncloud are Sandstorm’s younger siblings and it’s relevant.
- Dust X Fern is changed so that it’s less creepy.
- Snowkit lives. His warrior name is Snowcloud.
- Cinderpelt, despite being disabled, is not a medicine cat because she’s disabled. She’s a tripod (born without a leg) rather than an accident happening. She becomes a medicine cat because she wanted to be one.
- Yellowfang was originally named Murkstorm, but Brokenstar changed her name as a way to disgrace her.
- Swiftpaw is Brambleflower (Bramblestar) and Tawnypelt’s older brother and it’s relevant.
- When The Clowder comes to the forest, Ruby tries to take Cloudtail back. He declines, and ThunderClan straight-up refuses to give him up.
- Leafpool is a demigirl and Squirrelflight is agenderflux. Brambleflower and Squirrelflight have a toxic relationship (so basically canon) and eventually the truth about the three’s parents is the final straw that break’s the camel’s back. Squirrelflight gets together with Nightcloud and Brambleflower with Stormfur. Alderheart and Sparkpelt are Nightcloud and Squirrelflight’s kits.
- Squirrelflight and Crowslash (Crowfeather) have a one-night stand resulting in kits. Squirrelflight rather than Leafpool because it’s less out of nowhere. Squirrelflight doesn’t know if the three are Brambleflower’s or Crowslash’s until the kits are born and Hollykit has almost his exact coat and Jayfeather has the exact same WindClan build. Crowfeather knows upon seeing them that they’re his but keeps quiet. Brambleflower notices but blames it on coincidence. He had some doubt in the back of his mind but it’s mostly gone by the time they’re apprentices.
- OKAY SO the story behind Squirrel X Crow. Instead of Feather X Crow, Crowslash and Squirrelflight have a highly passionate affair during the great journey, before breaking it off because they’d rather stay loyal to their clans. Squirrelflight moves on with Brambleflower and Crowslash “moves on” with Nightcloud. At first, all seems well until Squirrelflight and Brambleflower have a massive fight, and she finds herself at WindClan’s border. She is met with a Crowslash who immediately moves to comfort her. They end up getting more... sexual (Crow just can’t resist his old flame). Afterwards they are both extremely ashamed and vow to never speak of this again. That is, until Squirrelflight gets pregnant...
- Lionshade (Lionblaze) becomes the medicine cat instead of Jayfeather. He’s terrified of his powers and doesn’t want to hurt anyone. He and Jay say “fuck you” to destiny.
- Hollyheart (Hollyleaf) is the third cat. Their power is persuasion. They can convince others to agree with them or do things for them. They can’t make them do anything against their morals and it might not work against a particularly strong-willed kind of cat, but they just have a kind of... charisma about them. She doesn’t die in the last hope, but near the beginning of a Vision of Shadows.
- Dovewing is the fourth cat. Her powers remain the same. She’s pressured into becoming mates with Bumblestripe by her friends, Rosepetal and Blossomfall, because he loves her. However, she feels nothing for him. She’s only ever had one crush before, and it was on Sedgewhisker, an older molly from WindClan. She finds herself more and more drawn to another friend, however... Briarlight. Briarlight listens to Dovewing without judgement and helps her find the courage to break up with Bumblestripe. The two mollies become mates not long after.
- Ivypool is pretty much the same as she was in canon but Fernsong is a bit older. Blossomfall is their other mate and they’re in a happy polyamorous relationship with their lovely kits, Bristlefrost, Flippaw, Thriftpaw, Shellfur and Plumstone.
- Thornclaw’s a single dad, his kits are Eaglewing and Stemleaf.
- Leafpool dies in the final battle of Omen of the Stars, leaving Lionshade devastated. Hollyheart also dies. Lionshade then takes on his younger half-brother, Alderheart, as his apprentice, and it becomes a really precious sibling bond.
- Shadowpaw is Tigerheart’s son with another molly (not sure who yet). He’s still the same as in canon, just not Dovewing’s son. Lightleap and Pouncestep are still Dovewing’s daughters however.
- Tigerheart never becomes leader. In fact, he STAYS. DEAD. Tawnypelt is ShadowClan’s leader instead.
And yeah that’s all I got so far should I make a separate blog and turn this into a rewrite?

cute little maybe map type thing but I wanted to share one of my new favorite ships courtesy of one of my dear friends @sagimita
So the basics of it is this is squirrel x crow!
I’m not very comfortable with the fact that brambleclaw was practically a warrior by the time squirrel was born and their romance starts as soon as she turns into an apprentice. I read more into their scenes together in TNP as little sister and big brother type vibe, she was nosy and annoying and wanted to be in all of brambleclaw’s business, he was just annoyed and treated her like an annoying clingy little sister. Plus they just don’t have that kind of dynamic for mates and almost the whole fandom recognizes that. So how do crowfeather and squirrelflight end up together?
Well, it starts with the journey, their banter in the beginning is honestly very cute and I can see them having kid crushes on each other and being awkward and not knowing how to handle all these emotions so they resort to being mean or awkward around the other. Brambleclaw and Feathertail act as basically knowing older siblings who tease the two constantly about it. Both of them completely reject the idea of them liking each other and insist they hate each other (hence the song Loathing!). Once they reach the Tribe of Rushing Water the to-be’s help brambleclaw and feathertail to set up a fake little first date type thing. You know the first awkward date you have when you’re in middle school? The one where you keep nervously glancing at each other unsure of what to talk about it and terrified to hold hands. Yeah, thats the one. The first night there they are suckered into being alone sharing prey with each other. It goes off just like any first awkward middle schooler date, nothing much happens other than awkward small talk which eventually falls in shambles to petty comebacks at each other as they fight over who didn’t want this more. Events after that go off as normal other than guilty glances at each other occasionally and when they go on a hunting trip with the hunters and cave-guards they bump heads with each other after helping catch the bird in excitement before quickly backing off, both blushing. Events again continue as normal. Feathertail’s death devestates Crowpaw as it should. This is where their relationship really begins to develop. Stormfur wasn’t close enough to Crowpaw to help, he certainly tried but he couldn’t and Brambleclaw was the one to comfort and aid Stormfur (Bramble x Storm bby!). The only other cat close enough to Crowpaw would be Squirrelpaw. And so Squirrelpaw becomes his major support system in helping him deal with this trauma. The unfortunate death matured them both and strengthened their bond more than the journey ever could have. The journey is over, the group often travel at the head sleeping with each other as they lead the clans to the new territories. At these lake territories Squirrelflight tells Crowpaw he should request feather as his suffix. He had admitted to her that he wanted to remember Feathertail by in some way. She was the one to tell him to do it and was the loudest to cheer for him when he received his name.
The two keep secretly meeting after they reach their territories, claiming it was only because they were good friends and wanted to see each other still, nothing bad was going on. Leafpool knew Squirrelflight was going somewhere every night as leafpool could taste the fresh wind of windclan territory on her tongue whenever squirrelflight went to the border.Leafpool was upset with her, but she wasn’t going to say anything, she understood and had differing views on forbidden relationships believing it healthy to have kits between different clans, the kits would stay with the mother and the father had the choice to either join the mother, stay with his clan, or the mother join his clan. Eventually as predicted Squirrelflight ended up pregnant, she didn’t hide it,k but she was looking for someone to be a psuedo father. She asked Ashfur to be the psuedo father and made it quite clear she didn’t love him, but she needed to keep herself and her kits from being exiled. Ashfur readily agreed albeit he believed he would eventually get her to love him, not accepting that she couldn’t love him. After all he thought of himself as suave and a mature nice guy. Squirrelflight had already discussed it with Crowfeather and they both agreed it was best they stay with their clans and cover up what had happened, they would lessen their meetings but still keep up to date and see each other. Crowfeather never gets with Nightcloud, instead Nightcloud finds herself helping to cover up Crowfeather’s tracks. They were already very great friends, she didn’t see him in a romantic way. Nightcloud is instead in a romantic poly relationship with Leafpool, and Mothwing (mothwing is trans in this AU and impregnates Nightcloud, all three wanted kits and Nightcloud was the most able with the best cover story and here comes the angery rat son with 3 moms!).  This is pretty long so far, and since the next section involves quite heavily the three I think I’ll leave that for the next round if people are interested! Interested more in this au? Ask me to give more info and I’d gladly! Interested in the other AU’s here ask me those too (Brambleclaw x Stormfur, both stay in the tribe of rushing water feeling most accepted there as well as staying close to Feathertail) and (Trans!Mothwing x Leafpool x Nightcloud)

can you tell us more about your au?
uh yeah absolutely. here are some important points to this au!
i may or may not forget some details that should be in here.
tadpole, hawk, and moth all manage to escape the flooding basement, but tadpole nearly drowns, which of course causes trauma. he’s deathly afraid of water after that.
when sasha brings them to riverclan, he’s really uneasy about the whole thing because, well, riverclan is their name and they have to swim.
he becomes mistyfoot’s apprentice. later becomes tadpoletail
he eventually overcomes his fear of water too, with the help of feathertail and his siblings.
tadpoletail goes on the journey with the other cats as well!! he practically has to beg feathertail to take him with her and stormfur.
he gets to know and spend time with his half-siblings, brambleclaw and tawnypelt!!
he and squirrelpaw get on brambleclaw’s nerves the entire time
he also figures out he has this MASSIVE crush on crowpaw, who in turn has a crush on feathertail. cue tadpoletail acting like a complete bumbling gay mess and doing stupid shit to get crowpaw’s attention.
all of which are failed attempts because crowpaw and feathertail are in love. it makes him jealous of feathertail and starts to shut her out.
when feathertail dies, tadpoletail is there to try and comfort him. he does his best even though he knows that crowpaw may never feel the same about him. he also feels terrible for feeling jealous of his former friend and shutting her out like he did.
later, on the journey back to the clans, he finds himself doubting his own loyalty to his clan. he’s scared that because of his selfish thoughts, because of the fact that he was in love with crowpaw and was jealous of feathertail, that his clan may find out and exile him.
when he learns that hawkfrost has been mean to mothwing he just lets loose on his idiot sibling and scolds him very very harshly.
cue the whole clans moving to their new home journey thing, meanwhile crowfeather earns his warrior name on the way there and tadpoletail grows much closer to him.
crowfeather’s thing with leafpool never happens, and neither does hawkfrost and brambleclaw’s thing with nearly killing firestar.
also, on the journey to their new home hawkfrost discovers his love for healing cats and becomes a medicine cat with mothwing, yes
also mothwing is a trans girl and hawkfrost is a he/him lesbian.
mothwing falls in love with leafpool and they have the three together, and hawkfrost has one (1) kit with his new trans shadowclan girlfriend, mumblewhisker (who is not a canon character but is still good). both of them keep this fact that they have kits.
kiss kiss fall in love (tadpole/crow happens!!)
they don’t make it obvious, but they don’t really hide it either
oh i dunno if you know this but this crowfeather is also a trans guy
tadpoletail has an oopsy-baby with crowfeather, who dumped him as soon as he realized he was going to have a kit…
and tadpoletail doesn’t realize the kit is his because crowfeather says the kit isn’t his
and tadpoletail trusts crowfeather so much he just believes him
breezepelt is their kid. breezepelt is a long furred, odd-eyed boy who looks strikingly similar to tadpoltail, but nobody seems to notice.
somehow tadpoletail doesn’t realize this
he’s just really really dense and trusting
mothwing and hawkfrost know though
do they tell him? VOTE NOW TO SEE THE ANSWER!!
yes they tell him.
anyways, i probably left a WHOOOLE BUNCH of stuff out of this but i kept getting distracted/side tracked with other things lmao. i can answer any specific questions better than the broad one here.
so if you have any specific questions, please send em over!

would you be able to expand a bit on that jayfeather au?
Yeah for sure!
So the idea stemmed from @draikinator suggesting that we do away with the whole Crowfeather/Leafpool plot and make it so that Leafpool ran away with Mothwing (who in this AU is trans) and came back the same way. They separate across the lake, though eventually the three are born after. The two are still in love and supportive of each other but they can only see each other when they visit the moonpool or at gatheringsSo, for the Jayfeather AU, while he is still blind, Leafpool is incredibly supportive and he trains to become a warrior. Spottedleaf still tries to tell Jay to become a medicine cat (she gives him being blind as the reason, but the real fact is that StarClan is afraid of his powers/the prophecy and so they want him to become a loyal StarClan follower as a medicine cat.) Leafpool doesn’t allow this, and Jaypaw works 4x as hard as his siblings to become a warrior and overcome the “disadvantage” of his blindness. It becomes apparent that, while he cannot see the forest around him, he can still sense it with his whiskers, nose, ears and paws, and can navigate it like any warrior. He is, as well, one of the most inquisitive and pragmatic warriors, and while he isn’t the best at fighting because of his small stature, he is very clever and fast. When he becomes a warrior, he is named Jaywing after his mother Mothwing (rather than ‘crowfeather-jayfeather’). This is the same name as his previous life (Jay’s Wing), but instead of being overwhelmed by it, he finds comfort in it and his memories of Half Moon and his time with the tribe cats.
There is still a prophecy, but it involves Lion, Holly and Jay rather than dovewing.
Jaywing’s power: Walk in dreams, sense others feelings, cannot be touched by the cats of StarClan and they have little influence over him (mostly because of his atheist mother Mothwing giving him a sense of disbelief, “they're just old cats, they are not more wise than the elders”), he can also view memories of others. (sooo mostly the same)
Lion’s power: He cannot be injured in battle, and he has an overwhelming need to protect others. He would make a good medicine cat tbh
Hollyleaf’s power: She has the ability to see outcomes, possibilities. The ‘logical’ outcomes begin to overpower her sense of morality, and she becomes jaded and calculating. The future is nt set in stone, but she can make it happen.
Sorry for the tangent haha!

when i have more time someday im gonna write in this wc human au ive been thinking about where lionblaze, hollyleaf, and jayfeather are by some remote statistical chance all trans so im gonna talk about that under the cut in case it gets long
so this is a human au. im not sure of the background yet but im thinking that leafpool and crowfeather had a fling out of wedlock and bramble and squirrel ended up adopting the kiddos. squirrel is a lawyer and bramble is a ceo.
lion comes out (as a trans guy) when he’s four/five/six-ish. he’s one of the kids who knows like as soon as they learn being trans is a thing. squirrel and bramble don’t really know how to deal with it but they want to make sure they’re supportive so they’re really sweet about it to him! except oops, squirrel offhandedly mentions that he can pick whatever name he wants and lion is like :0 and he’s like “lions are my favorite animals!! i wanna be named lion!!” and bramble kind of looks at squirrel like “well u did say” so he gets his name legally changed to lion. (he never regrets it. he’s like 30 and he’s like “yeah five-year-old me knew what he was talking about”). lion is eventually on the football team and he uses his powers for Goodness And Kindness,,,, he is the One Good Sports Man,,,
holly comes out (as a trans gal) when she’s maybe eleven or twelve. lion is like “WELCOME TO THE CLUB!!!” and immediately makes her feel really happy and loved. in this au for some reason i imagine she’s in the school orchestra and she’s first chair violinist. she plans to be president someday. her gf is either willowshine or cinderheart
jay comes out (as agender) when they’re fifteen/sixteen. they explain what agender means to their parents and squirrel goes “we have a son and a daughter and a jay!! we got the whole set!!!” jay is an emo. their emoness is unrelated to their transness, they’re just really emo. lion and holly make fun of them a Lot because they still listen to mcr. it’s 2018 jay

AU idea I just thought of and am doing a submission because character limit will screw me over:
So Leafpool does her thing with Crowboi, comes back and confides in her sister. Squirrelflight, either due to fertility issues or trans Squirrelflight, hasn't been able to have kits so they talk with Brambleclaw and tell the clan that Leafpool volunteered to be a surrogate so the two can have kits. When it's announced at the next gathering, initially everyone's like "but... Med cat? Kits?" Until Leopardstar points out her father was a medicine cat, and Firestar adds that she doesn't have a mate and wouldn't be treated as their mom, so everyone agrees that it's probably fine since the sky was clear the entire time do Starclan ain't fussing about it. Crowfeather is, of course, suspicious because *timing* and a few other cats (mainly Thunderclan cats, but Nightcloud and Ashfoot too) do have their doubts but no one's gonna say the med cat and deputy of Thunderclan are lying. So the three are born, Squirrelflight and Brambleclaw take turns on nursery duty, curling up together with the kits at night, and Ferncloud and Daisy pitch in too (They totally figured out the story is bull but they aren't about to ruin anything and no harms done so they just dote on the new kittens and take care of them while their parents are busy). The three do find out Crowfeather's their bio dad eventually, but they really don't care because, hey, Squirrelflight and Brambleclaw raised them. Hollyleaf does have a minor issue with it, because warrior code, and confronts Leafpool. Leafpool tells her she does regret breaking the code and having to lie to the clans, but will never regret having the three. No fire scene, Ashfur is just Super Uncle to Ferncloud's kits, but does get kinda awkward with the three since he's a chaotic bisexual who'd been in love with *both* their parents and is really having a crisis but doesn't have the push over the edge like in canon. And Hollyleaf is one of the three because fuck that.
But yeah, tldr, Squirrel and Bramble say Leaf was their surrogate and it's a happy ending for all, with Holly having a minor crisis but eventually realising it doesn't really matter and the code is not the end all be all.

it’s such subtle changes but makes po3 so much more interesting and makes way more sense!
