I have no real thoughts on this, tbh. I like tarantulas well enough, but I am not a fan of spiders 😭 my brother has severe arachnophobia and he’s slowly giving it to me 😂

So it has switched over to tranatula season for almost a month now and I haven't seen a single 8 legged fucker and frankly I am fucking terrified.

This is a question specifically related to your post about Dick and Tranatula yesterday but in a real life situation, so if you find this triggering in any way please ignore this ask. If you're in a situation where you find out that someone is a survivor without them telling you, considering everything you wrote about agency, what would be best to do? Should you just ignore that you know for the most part, and let them tell you if they want to? Or should you tell them that you know?

Tbh, what I would do in that situation is raise the subject in kind of a hypothetical way that doesn’t make them feel put on the spot, and just....through that, try and express that you’d want someone to know that you were a safe person for someone to come to about that and be believed, and that it wouldn’t change how you feel about a person or be something you’d ever pass on.

Basically, the point is just that its not important that you know, or that they know you know, the important part is just conducting and expressing yourself as a person that you’d hope would be seen as a safe and comfortable presence to confide in or disclose to.....and then just leave that door open. Don’t push or pressure them, just kinda....hang out a sign, so to speak, that broadcasts what you want them to take away from that, without like....putting pressure on them or even necessarily making them feel like its necessarily ABOUT them.

Just always always always remember that its not about you.....and its not even about what you think or believe is best for them. Sometimes someone’s reason for not confiding in you doesn’t even have anything to do with you, or not trusting that you’d be there for them, its just a matter of timing, as in....they need more of it. They’re just not ready to unpack everything they feel about it or face it yet, or just feel seen in that particular way, and IMO its never a benefit to someone to rush that process. Let THEM be in charge of it. Wait for them to come to you, in their own time, when they’re ready. Just be there for them when they do, and until that point, try and just convey through your actions that they can trust you to be there for them when they’re ready.

There’s no timeline for this, other than what works for them, and everyone is different. Trying to impose your own timeline or someone else’s suggested timeline, just takes away from the fact that this is their life, and they need to feel in charge of it again, that they’re the one in the driver’s seat rather than just an unwilling passenger stuck dealing with the choices others make about them.

He was stung by a radioactive Tranatula hawk from Los Alamos national labs, and has developed a superhuman pain tolerance since then. He fights crime by night, able to take punches and fight through pain like a champ, but still suffers the consequences of too many wounds even if he can’t feel them.

No webs, but he can still stick to walls. His physique and pain tolerance mean that he tends to brute force his way through trouble, and fancy-shmancy acrobatics are unneeded.

I imagine he’s from one of the pueblos in New Mexico, not too far from Los Alamos. There’s a lot of shady stuff that happens in Los Alamos politics, but in the beginning of his journey, T-Hawk just fights thugs in the gritty ghettos he lives near.

I don’t have any ideas for his average identity, aside from being loosely based off of a friend from high school (he doesn’t even have a name), but with the spiderverse hype burning down I think this is where Tarantula Hawk’s story ends
