i designed a sheikah outfit for josha like purah and robbie. they gifted it to her, but josha added the depths elements later because no one tells the president what to do.

i wanted to keep it in line with the modern sheikah's sense of style, with some allusions to their past ninja antics, hence the bandages and assassin's creed hood. all the better to slip out of lookout landing undetected. strict parents make sneaky kids, purah!

I was just thinking about the Sheikah Tech’s complete absence from Tears of The Kingdom

Along with some of the criticism of totk I see is a lot mention the absence of all Sheikah tech (divine beasts, guardians, shrines, Sheikah towers, etc) is weird in totk like it never existed.

I thought so too but I also think it kind of makes sense why it doesn’t exist. This technology was all made to serve its purpose in defeating Calamity Ganon and once that he was defeated there is really no use for this technology anymore. Pre-events of botw just before Link wakes up is when the shrines, the towers, and the divine beasts all become active and when the beasts start causing problems to their respective regions.

Even 100 years ago just right before the calamity wipes out most of Hyrule the technology was just then being unearthed and researched. 10,000 years before the Sheikah tech had been banished along with the Sheikah and divine beasts buried before they were rediscovered to fight calamity Ganon.

I assume post-botw that’s also been the case. This technology has served its purpose and is likely no longer needed, or they simply buried them again and would bring them back if another calamity was to occur. And the shrines going back underground.

And in the case of the guardians, I mean, I think it makes sense that they’re all gone because would you still want these killing machines around that wiped out most of Hyrule 100 years ago and were a threat to anyone ever since?

So I think it makes sense for the Sheikah technology to be mostly scraped from the world of totk besides the towers still using it. I do wonder why the Sheikah slate was re-designed and I still call it the Sheikah slate sometimes but I do think it’s cool that it resembles a Nintendo Switch.

I was wondering for some time now: what is a connection between Zonai and Sheikah?

In TotK, why was there a total lack of Sheikah in the sages and Rauru’s court?

It is implied that the Ancient Sheikah developed their technology from Zonai tech, but how did they feel about the Zonai? Was there strain and suspicion? Or was there quasi-worship there, given all the constellation motifs and the Astral Observatory? Were the constellations from a desire to explore the unknown, or a warning about the potential return of the people who had arrived from the stars and then heavily mined the kingdom?

Desert Bandits: Chapters 1-3, Ao3

the first few chapters of my yiga-centric fic have been uploaded to ao3. it follows a gerudo woman and a yiga footsoldier forming a temporary truce to find the cure for a mysterious illness.

it's all about exploring the relationship the yiga have with the sheikah and gerudo. it's focused on my ocs (it's quite difficult to write yiga characters otherwise!) but will also feature zelda as she joins the lucky clover gazette, purah being a big sis to josha as they investigate the yiga clan's next big scheme, and master kohga going shield-surfing to escape his problems.

chapters 1-2 introduce aubri and her revenge quest against the yiga spy who tried to kill her many years ago. ch.3 has zelda and riju thwart an assassination, except this time he doesn't escape. one captured footsoldier doesn't seem like much, but a chain is only as strong as its weakest link. an interrogation may yield useful info on their next plot, if it doesn't blow up in their faces.

I’ve been playing totk again (tho, when did I stop lol) and I just had a moment where I was so confused.

I play basically always wearing the stealth armor. Let’s me pass by monsters easier, let’s me grab bugs and butterflies, doesn’t scare off fish or horses, just altogether an easier experience. But then I had to take it off to fight an Igneo Talus and forgot to put it back on for a sec, I go to grab a lizard and it runs and I’m like “WAIT WHAT?!”

Finally “completed” one of the Link designs! I say “completed” because, you know me… I’ll most likely keep making changes. Especially those pants, my creativity flopped on that front.

Anyways here’s Champion, or BotW/TotK Link! There was a 3/4-year time gap from the events of the first game to its sequel, and I am fully convinced that Link is supposed to look at least slightly older in TotK, even though the game doesn’t really represent that? I tried to keep his design relatively simple and consistent between the two designs, where TotK is more of an “upgraded” version of BotW, rather than a redesign. He wears more or less the same basics but with upgraded gear!
