I’ve been playing totk again (tho, when did I stop lol) and I just had a moment where I was so confused.
I play basically always wearing the stealth armor. Let’s me pass by monsters easier, let’s me grab bugs and butterflies, doesn’t scare off fish or horses, just altogether an easier experience. But then I had to take it off to fight an Igneo Talus and forgot to put it back on for a sec, I go to grab a lizard and it runs and I’m like “WAIT WHAT?!”

Yeah 99% of the time now I just avoid them. Not worth it. I didn’t even know the trick was to shoot all the eyes quickly so they’re all hurt at the same time. So the first few times it took wildly different amounts of time for it to die. I was constantly confused and scared of those. Like, there are probably other monsters that are more dangerous, hell the King Gleeok is probably more dangerous, but I’d fight five King Gleeoks at once if it meant no more Gloom Hands.
I think it's sort of funny
When I learned about Gloom Hands, it was on tumblr, because I hadn't played TotK yet
But when I DID start playing, i remember I was seeking out shrines to complete and ran into my first gloom hand up at that one shrine that's floating just above the ground, where you have to climb a root to get up to it. And up over the hill, i saw this black and purple blob moving. Moving towards me
And my first instinct was to climb, climb high, and hope it couldn't get me up there.
It couldn't. I didn't even have to fight my first gloom hand, it just....evaporated out of frustration of not being able to grab me
and I sat up there for a while, thinking it was a trick and the thing would come back. And I sat and waited until i decided to risk it, dropping down and grabbing the weird new thing, but then hurrying back up to my hiding spot
Because people talked about the hands, not what they dropped, or that they disappear after a minute if they can't shake you like a doll.
And I don't think I ever actually got caught by the hands until I did the Deku Tree quest, where I honestly was so running out of ideas because sitting on a ledge and bombing them from above was getting me nowhere, so I willingly jumped in with them hoping it would make a difference (spoilers: it did not)

I avoided anything that could remotely be a spoiler like the fucking plague. Blocked several LoZ tags on tumblr and everything. So I had zero clue what Gloom Hands were. My first encounter with them was the Ordorac Quarry in Deep Akkala. I was wandering around, minding my effing business when I see fucking hands with eyes pop out of the fucking ground and the music changes. I straight up nope out of there.
But the real problem was when I went to the Lomei Labyrinth Island. I saw the hands. Contemplated it. And finally, in a moment of bravado, decided “Fuck it, I can do this, I’ve got good weapons and decent armor.”
I fight the hands, all is well I think! AND THEN FUCKING PHANTOM GANON SHOWS THE FUCK UP AND I HAD ZERO PREPARATION FOR THAT FIGHT AND ENDED UP FUSING A DIAMOND TO A SWORD BECAUSE AT THE TIME THAT WAS MY HIGHEST FUSE POWER ITEM.

Ok I was rewatching Kung Fu Panda because reasons and it just came up again and somebody help me.
So Tai Lung right? Scary cat guy villain of KFP1. Love his voice acting, his backstory is great, his baby version is one of the cutest things ever but hold on a fuckin second. WHAT IS WITH HIS TEETH?
WHAT? There are parts here and there where it’s clearer but we never have an explanation.
Have you ever seen Snow Leopard teeth? And just to clarify, yes Tai Lung is confirmed a Snow Leopard.
It’s really hard to see in most pictures but if you see the skull it’s clearer.
So yeah that’s shockingly accurate right?
But hold on a fuckin second.
WHY ARE THERE SO MANY OF THE FLAT TEETH ON THE TOP AND BOTTOM??
On this skull there are six on the bottom row.
In both of these pictures there are FOURTEEN.
THATS MORE THAN TWICE AS MUCH.
And it’s in both pictures exactly 14 so this isn’t an oppsie daisy moment.
And don’t just say that the way they drew the head meant they needed to have more bottom teeth. They could have made them wider or drawn any aspect differently. They chose this.
Why?!
