I've been rewatching Osomatsu-san and have been keeping track of the times the brothers have said each other's names/nicknames because I have always wondered about it so yeah this is very self-indulgent TT_TT but I will be sharing it below.

Note!

1. Included are Seasons 1-3 and The Movie (2019), however I did not include AUs apart from F6 and Girlymatsu, and skipped over recap episodes as well as ending songs and previews

2. I did not include times when their names was said but it wasn't pertaining to them specifically so things like "Osomatsu-kun/-san" as titles or "Karamatsu Girls"

3. I did not count the times where a brother would refer to them as a whole like when Karamatsu would say "brothers" or when Totty says "niisan-tachi" (brothers)

4. The term "niisan"/ "chounan" (older brother) and "suekko" (youngets child) are counted only if they are used as a non descriptor so things like "I'm the eldest", and "Todomatsu, the youngest" do not count. However, they sometimes translate as nicknames based on context so things like "Share with your big bro" and "Come on, little bro" count, I hope this made sense lol

5. This is not 100% accurate 'cause I might miss some, especially when they aren't put into the subs but I did my best to compile it :DD

Shittymatsu. Do the Matsus have a computer at all in their house?

I think they do but they haven’t shown it yet onscreen.

Why else would Choro have a twitter handle but no phone like Totty.

I’m also not gonna count the Nanmaider sketch from season 3 as proof against a computer because I think Matsuzou was too scared to go back home to check.

The Matsu's preferred weapons (Medieval AU)

There's a Hesokuri Wars set about this exact topic. I wanted to share my thoughts on it!

Osomatsu

Osomatsu is the one you'd expect to have a normal sword by default. I mean, why wouldn't he? He doesn't come across as the kind of person who'd be too strategic or picky about his weapon of choice. As long as he gets to do stuff, he'll roll with whatever!

So... the staff gave him a lance. And, you know what? There's really nothing wrong with that. It's different from the usual "Osomatsu gets the basic option" trope that HW had going on. It looks cool and it makes sense that he would use a weapon like that, but... Come on.

Osomatsu is a simple man. I think a standard sword is perfect for him. He can even have a shield, too. As a treat.

Besides, I have my reasons (it's only one) to give the lance to someone else.

Karamatsu

As for Karamatsu… Yeah, the long sword is perfect for him. Completely agreed with the (kinda? Is HW canon?) canon choice. Of course he'd use something big and eye-catching. Maybe he'd even try to customize the damn thing. Make it sparkly or have his name inscribed into the sword's metal.

Alternatively, I think double swords would also be a great choice for him. He'd get to do some sick poses with his swords while he fights. Surely he'd use some convoluted fighting style that looks like a dance; exaggerated, but deadly... Or, at least, he thinks it looks like that.

Also: Two swords, he's the second son… Yeah. It checks out.

Choromatsu

Remember the lance? Yes, the one I mentioned like 10 seconds ago. I just happened to have the perfect excuse to hand the thing to Choromatsu.

You see, the name "Choromatsu" comes from the japanese onomatopoeia "choro-choro." It apparently means "the way children and small things move around quickly". Can you already see where I'm going with this?

I can just picture this 5'3 king, ramming into battle with a pointy, sharp lance. I'm pretty sure running away from his problems is Choromatsu's favorite thing to do, so he'll have no problem using this weapon since it involves a lot of running!

I can also see him using a bow, which is as much, if not more, of a classic weapon than the lance itself. But let's face it, Choromatsu with a lance is way cooler (and it's unique and meaningful, too).

Ichimatsu

A crossbow is an interesting choice for a person like Ichimatsu, who is often portrayed as someone of very low energy. I like it, yes… But consider, whatever the hell is this:

Ichimatsu can be lazy sometimes… But not when it comes to violence, I think. Is this anything? I'm pretty sure he'd enjoy the absolute carnage that comes with using a weapon like this.

Jyushimatsu (no way, there's no yellow?! I'm sorry, Jyushi!)

The HW staff gave this man an axe. A giant one at that. He is an absolute unit and I can totally respect that, I love me a good axe representation, but… It seems a bit out of character to me. Am I the only one?

Jyushi can be violent, yes… But an axe? That feels excessive. Also, I just don't understand how the staff missed the opportunity to give him something like this:

Look at it. Now, look me in the eyes and tell me it doesn't resemble a baseball bat even JUST a little bit.

This was the obvious choice for him, so why did they not give him a [whatever the hell this thing is called]?

Perhaps it was too gruesome? I mean, it can't possibly be more gruesome than an axe, right? Also, this would have made for a excellent visual gag. It would have been perfect! Oh, how it hurts to have such big brain that only has objectively correct ideas!

Todomatsu

Finally… Totty. Oh, Totty. What a sneaky little rat you are.

I'll admit that a shield with spikes is an amazing choice for him. The thing is heart-shaped! Very cute. Very cute, Totty… While the combo of a sword and a shield is an absolute classic and doesn't look bad on him at all, I must say…

Let's give this man a dagger and see what happens.

"Ah! Oh, no, I've fallen!" Todomatsu whines, curled up on the ground of the battlefield. With fat tears in his eyes, he tries to shield his body with his arms. "And I don't have a weapon, oh! Whatever shall I do!"

And then, when somebody approaches… BOOM. 37 STAB WOUNDS IN FIVE SECONDS. YOU'RE DONE, BABE.

He'd be an absolute menace with a dagger. Maybe the staff knew this. Maybe it IS for the best that he doesn't have a dagger.

More specifically I think she would think:

Kara- Hmmmmm I think peacock 🦚 especially when he flaunts his sparkly pants, choro - frog obviously, ichi - cat obviously , jyushi - dog , totty - bunny

And erina associates herself with puppy dogs… at least she wants to be seen that way! 🐶

ngl my initial thought was that she gives off only child energy to me... if only bc it's so difficult to hide her huge anime stash if she grew up living with other people. but if she were to have a sibling i think they'd be older than her for sure...

whether it's a brother or a sister idk but now im thinking bigtime. maybe she does have an older sibling and it just never comes up in conversation until one day her airhead ass mentions it super casually and all the matsubros freak out "WHY DID YOU NEVER SAY ANYTHING!!!" and shes like "huh...? she def jokingly pulls out the niisan card on the bros tho to get them to do stuff for her lmao. especially totty bc hes never gotten the chance to be called that and its nice to feel relied on right ^_^ (<- totally not her own selfish intentions speaking here)

it's super annoying once she marries choro and the rest of them become her brothers in law... if they're gonna make such a big deal out of birth order when they're minutes apart she sees no issue with exploiting whatever she can out of their 7 week age gap. put those neets to work.

How the Matsuno boys would deal with a S/O who's way too early with celebrating Halloween

When Osomatsu found out his partner was like... Overly obsessed with Halloween, he was a little taken aback if we're being honest. He wants you to have things you enjoy obviously, but the constant trips to spirit Halloween is getting tiring since he has to carry everything.... But the look on your face when he gets into it is so cute that it sort of melts away some of his stress.

Karamatsu finds you absolutely adorable no matter what, so when he sees you overjoyed to get ready for fall and Halloween, he follows along with you. He uses this as an excuse to help you get all dressed up and cute, but sometimes he does get a little terrified because you scare him a lot.

With Choromatsu, he kind of hates how obsessed you are with Halloween. Don't get me wrong, he loves that you get all happy and understands everyone has their interest, but he finds it creepy that you enjoy all the darker stuff, he would much rather priorize months ahead going to a nyaa-chan concert than getting ready for Halloween.

Ichimatsu follows along suit with you! It's the one holiday a year where he can be a total creep or asshole and no one seems to bat an eye at him because it's apart of the holiday spirit. He doesn't care if it's days, let alone a month before Halloween is coming, the second you start celebrating, he start celebrating too.

Your sunny boy Jyushimatsu just wants to be with you and see you happy, so if you like to celebrate Halloween months in advance, then goddammit, he's gonna go all out for you. Most of the time he'll drag you around stores and points out stuff he'd think you would like and make jokes with it. It's a nice bonding moment since you know that even though it might not be his favorite thing, he's gonna let you have your fun.

TOTTY ABSOLUTELY HATES IT!!! Don't get me wrong, he is a white bitch in autumn, but he absolutely hates your obsession with Halloween and finds it creepy, he isn't silent about it either, but the second you mention his pumpkin spice latte addiction, he shuts up. He's just worried you're one of those "Jack Skellington" people and will most likely dump you if you ruin his internet cred, granted he'll regret it, but his ego outshines he love for you sometimes.

Hello! Welcome to chommatsu’s “Osomatsu-san Matsu Matsuri!!” Mahjong tutorial.

This is specifically the simplified kid’s version, which is called Ponjan or Donjara. (Donjara is the Bandai trademark.)

I won’t be going over how to download the game in this guide; If you’d like to homebrew your 3DS or download the .cia for the game, feel free to DM me on my blog!

Double images are to be read from left to right; top screen to bottom screen.

Here’s an outline of each section for easy searching!

*NOTE: I do not play mahjong, nor do I read Japanese. This is simply what I have interpreted from trial and error.

1. MAIN MENU:

- The left button returns you to the Minigames Menu.

- The middle button shows you the instructions (Kind of useless if you can’t read Japanese :P)

- The right button opens the game.

2. GAME MENU:

Before playing, the game shuffles the play order of the brothers. In this case, Ichimatsu is starting dealer (As seen by the red circle next to his name). You can then see who will play next.

Press the circle button to start. The menu may seem overwhelming, but we’ll break it down based on the screenshot.

Above Osomatsu, you have:

- ラウンド (Literally means Round) represents what round you are on. There are four total rounds.

- 位 is your rank (1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th), and 点 is how many points you start with.

- 46 shows how many tiles are in the deck.

- The tile next to it is like your dora tile. If it is included in your winning hand, you get a bonus multiplier in your points tally. (2x)

Underneath Osomatsu, you have:

- The row of 8 tiles shows what's in your hand. The 9th tile, highlighted with the arrow, is what you drew from the draw pile.

- The left button shows the catalog of combos you can do and what they are worth.

- The middle button shows what combos your hand qualifies for.

- The right button calls pon and discards the tile.

The top screen shows the starting dealer (The one with the red circle) and what tiles each player discarded. It also shows their current rank and points.

The starting dealer will also have a 1.5x bonus multiplier.

3. GOAL OF THE GAME:

Each round consists of creating a hand out of the 9 tiles. (In sets divisible by 3.)

For example, you can play three 3-of-a-kinds (3 Ichi, 3 Kara, 3 Totty), one 6-of-a-kind and one 3-of-a-kind (6 Ichi, 3 Totty), or the best hand, a 9-of-a-kind (9 Karas).

*The brothers used are irrelevant for these types of hands; they are just examples.

You draw and trash tiles to create your hand. This action is called Pon. The first person to play their entire hand ends each round, with points being deducted by the losers. Scores are compared and first place wins by the end of the fourth round OR when someone runs out of points!

*At this point, you may be able to play without the rest. However, if you are unsure, feel free to continue reading.

4. COMBOS:

The majority of the game is spent creating hands out of various characters, white tiles, and numbers. However, winning first place means having the most points. With combos, you and your opponents can create the best match-up for points!

4a. THE COMBO CATALOG

The catalog shows a complete collection of combos you can create with your tiles. The first entry is the basic number for three 3-of-a-kinds. This means our hand is at least guaranteed to win 100 points.

Each entry can be read as such:

- The leftmost symbol. Each Matsuno brother is depicted by their color, with Totoko represented as orange and Chibita represented as brown. The yellow star depicts combos with two or more different characters and white tiles. The blue star is miscellaneous. (Multipliers, basic points, etc…)

- The rightmost number. This is how many points this combo rewards.

- The visual aid. On the top screen, it shows you what character tile is used, the number of points, and what is required for that combo. For example, we can see that we need three Ichimatsu tiles with the numbers 5, 6, and 4 in the screenshot.

All of the entries are shaded gray. However, as you continue to play, they may turn blue to indicate that the combo has been played before. (This is to help for the overall achievements in Matsu Matsuri, I assume.)

Now that we are familiar with combos, let’s see how we can actually check what combos we qualify for.

4b. QUALIFIED COMBOS

Simply put, it would take too long to scroll through the catalog for qualified combos. Thus, the game automatically shows which combos your hand has.

*If you cannot tap the button for this menu, it means you have no combos. Yikes!

In the above example, we can see that the hand has three combos in place, with one being shown on the top screen. This makes the hand worth 700 points for now. This can, of course, change as you exchange and trash tiles.

So, how would you use this screen to help you?

In this case, you can see that this particular combo yields 300 points for a 5, 6, 4 pattern. Even though there is another Ichimatsu combo, because it is only worth 200 points, I would disregard it and throw away the 3 Ichi tile.

The qualified combos screen can also depict multipliers. As we can see, the blue star shows a 1.5 multiplier. (As explained in part 2, this is from the starting dealer.) This means the overall score has increased by 50%.

5. GAMEPLAY:

This section will play as a catch-all for other game mechanics, organized into sub-sections.

5a. RIICHI

The riichi menu is activated whenever the player is in tenpai; meaning when the player is a tile away from completing their hand. (If you play chess, you might understand this better as being in check).

When this happens, the menu above is summoned. It is read as followed:

The left button means yes.

The right button means no.

When you press yes, you have called riichi. It lets all players know that you are in tenpai. In return, you are allowed to steal tiles that have been discarded from then on. Meaning, you cannot steal previous tiles, but future tiles are free game.

The person you steal a tile from will lose their points. If you complete your hand without stealing, all players lose their points.

However, this mode comes with a caveat as well: You are not allowed to choose any other tile except the one that will complete the hand. In this case, we can only steal or use Chibita tiles. Sometimes, you may want to say no and call pon, just in case a better combo comes along.

Beware; the other brothers can call riichi, too! If you are not careful, your tile may end up stolen; you lose points!

5b. WINNING

When you are about to make the winning move, the menu above will appear.

It is similar to the riichi menu, except for the middle button. This goes to the qualified combos page. The game is essentially asking: “Are you happy with your hand?” If the tile does not create an appealing combo, you may choose no.

There are various win screens. Here are some examples:

Here, Totty has won without stealing any tiles. He will get points from all of the brothers.

Totty has stolen a tile from Ichimatsu. Only Ichimatsu will lose points.

Here is a rare but possible wins screen; Nobody could make a hand before the tiles ran out. There is no winner.

6. CONCLUSION:

Thank you so much for reading my game guide!! This is my first time making anything of sorts, but I hope it was understandable. I am thinking of making a video guide of the minigame for those who struggle with long text.

I will note again that I don’t understand real mahjong or Japanese; this is what I’ve come to terms with by playing and testing various moves!! If you see any glaring errors or would like to specify a certain move or term, please let me know via DMs!

TOTTY-TOTTY-TOTTY HAS POSTED A NEW CHAPTER OF THE BEST RED DWARF FIC EVER, ALONE TOGETHER

Warning: it is pretty filthy. But if you’re into that, it’s excellent written smut. It’s good shit, Brent.

Besides the dong talk: it is also extremely in character, excellent dialogue, Rimmer’s internal monologue is on point and maintains his characterization as a total smeghead for the full breadth and width of the 30 years the fic covers. You will hate him at some points. He is a git. He is my favorite character. This is my absolute favorite Red Dwarf fic ever and I’ve reread the whole thing several times.

short answer: the fanarts that came out like immediately after ep 22 aired. then the barrage of extra content i found out this year

long answer:

the lack of information mixed with fan's interpretations of atsushi's character and overall a growing necessity to ship the matsus with other characters. at the time people had very little to work with, the show was sparse with introducing new characters since they often if not always were 1 offs that we weren't sure that would appear again (they changed this in later seasons ofc but we didn't know that at the time) so people got attached to those 1 offs. and naturally with fandoms people want to explore the concepts of characters dating you know the roll. but they had little to work with in the main cast. so they turned to the 1 offs. so when ep 22 came out people interested interested in shipping stuff saw atsushi and went insane. despite having almost nothing people still made interesting and fun dynamics with what they had! :-P this is where the most varied takes on atsushi come from, and it's honestly rlly fun to look back at fanart and fics from this time because people had super different perceptions of this One Guy that showed up for like 6 seconds total. some people thought of him as a cool regular guy that liked totty, some thought he was some sort of millionare trying to buy todomatsu's love, and so on. anything was possible really, they made shit up on the spot and there was nothing that could tell them otherwise. :-P and i remember back then i didn't have like, a personality in mind for atsushi either? or a specific dynamic, i just liked seeing them together and what people came up with s1 ends, and a few months pass and i'm not really that interested in the show but i still like it, i'm not keeping up with new media like hesokuri wars and i miss stuff like the atsushi set, etc. season 2 comes, i'm haphazardly watching it more as a casual viewer, and then it ends.

And then the movie . Ohhh the movie.

i went a crazy insane and i think that's where the genuine interest for the character and the ship started. like i'm writing this now and my mind is listing all the shit off my brain like they really gave the guy: -new lines -smug personality -HISTORY. WITH THE MAIN CAST. -new highschool design -rivalry type of dynamic and direct interaction with todomatsu like it was a game changer!!!!!! i was so excited!!!!! and 3 days later i forgot about it and didn't think about the movie or show again. :-P i wasn't caught up with all the extra media content via the games and i wasn't involved with the fanbase either so it just forgor.

until. 2023. i watched the 3rd season, i got hyperfixated with the show and now i WAS invested in the extra media, and i saw all the sets he had and all the interactions he had with totty on those and then i saw the skit in the 3rd season. and i was like wow they really pandered to the people liking the ship huh. lol thats funny. cute even. i still like them but i don't think i'm as insane about them as i used to be lol (denial)

so yeah. i think this is the most invested i've been in a ship in a long time and that's because my interest for it has been cooking in the back of my brain for so long that my brain exploded like a pressure cooker and this is the result.......

Non avevamo telefoni cellulari; non avevamo televisioni satellitari; non avevamo internet. I nostri social network erano il bar, la discoteca, il campetto. Silvio Berlusconi doveva ancora "scendere in campo". Francesco Totti, invece, aveva appena esordito in Serie A - a 16 anni.

Io ero perdutamente innamorato di una mia compagna di classe, ragion per cui, credo di aver fatto al massimo due assenze in tutto il quinto anno. Mi preparavo agli esami studiando durante il giorno e uscendo la sera - per lo più, andavo a fare un giro all'EUR per bere una birra e fare quattro chiacchiere con il mio amico M. Ci sedevamo sulla scalinata che si trova in fondo a Viale Europa e immaginavamo il futuro: io avvocato e lui architetto.

Totale: la mia compagna di classe si è sposata e ha fatto due figli, ovviamente, con un altro uomo; io non ho mai fatto l'avvocato, lui non ha mai fatto l'architetto... Di quello che sognavamo è rimasto davvero poco.

Ma la vita è ciò che ti capita mentre sei impegnato a fare altri piani, cantava il saggio John Lennon.

Tutto questo per dire ai ragazzi di oggi che l'esame di stato resterà per sempre come uno dei ricordi più belli della loro vita (!).

Cari ragazzi, per quanto possa sembrare assurdo, per quanto possa sembrare una velata minaccia, vi posso assicurare che nei prossimi anni rimpiangerete questo periodo. Perché dopo la maturità si inizia a fare sul serio. Il mondo diventerà ogni giorno più competitivo e complicato. Inizierete ad avere sempre più responsabilità e sempre meno diritti.

Ma non è davvero il caso di pensare a questo, ora.

Adesso è il momento di celebrare la vostra gioventù, è il momento di sostenere senza paturnie questo benedetto esame e poi godervi alla grande l’estate con la E maiuscola, quella del grande salto.

Date retta al prof., se volete essere felici “da grandi”, abbiate il coraggio di essere voi stessi. Ricordatevi sempre che il risultato non è che la minima parte dell'esperienza.

Inseguite i vostri sogni.

Difendeteli senza pietà.

Gli esami si affrontano come i lupi di mare affrontano l'oceano: rispetto, ma nessuna paura.

But it's hard to find players like those nowadays

(also just letting u know they use they/them pronouns)

Mao is kind of a closeted otaku, or former? They were a hikikomori/shut-in for almost a decade and while they were in solitude, they were very much into anime and manga, idols, video games and MMOs. So, nowadays, they'll still watch anime and play video games but not to that same extreme. They have one craft hobby that they're not very good at and its needle felting, they love doing it despite nothing ever turning out good and constantly stabbing their fingers.

SO THE MATSUS WOAH MOMMA (Ill be 100% honest, I haven't gotten far enough into development/writing my fic to that Mao has fleshed out relationships with the other boys (its a slow/mid-burn and they hardly know the boys outside of Ichi at the point I'm at rn) so im gonna write how their relationships are now and how i hope i might be able to mold them in the future)

Osomatsu They atm don't have much of a dynamic, he's one of the brothers they know the least, but they've picked up that he's a bit cheeky and... not abrasive, maybe a little pushy? But not in a bad way, a neutral way. In the future, I do really want them to be closer, specifically I want to explore how the two would be drunk together. Mao doesn't drink often because, like Ichi, they're a lightweight but they'll get carried away and also tend to black out, so they don't. BUT they also get a lot more loosey goosey and are a bit more silly and confident, and deep down they're kinda vulgar so I think they'd be able to drunkenly joke together? NOT SURE YET.

Karamatsu OK So this is the dynamic I haven't touched on AT ALL, so I am really at a loss... I think they would find him funny in an ironic kind of way. I think they would want to genuinely be nice to him and encourage him, but would see how Ichi seems to think he's 'cringe' and would probably be like "aw, c'mon Ichimatsu, let him cook' or something to that effect. They're also jealous of the fact he can like, sparkle and shit.

Choromatsu OKAY OKAY AS MUCH as I dislike Choromatsu, I'm kind of excited to talk abt this. So currently they have not a CLUE abt Choro, no dynamic at all, HOWEVER!! These two have the most overlap in terms of interests (see above) so I'm genuinely excited to write how these two will interact abt otaku stuff BECAUSE they are going to rip him a fucking new one, say his fictional waifu is trash (yes i know he's mainly an idol otaku but you cant deny the fucker has some anime/light novel waifu he likes or something), and say his taste in content is sub par, but there is going to be one thing, ONE SINGLE THING that they agree on and its something they both hate and hate watch for the same reasons....

Jyushimatsu EEEEEEE SUNSHINE BOY!!!!! He's one of the ones they're had more contact with atm and they think he's absolutely delightful. They truly don't comprehend how the two are identical but are such polar opposites. Well they do, but they also kinda don't (they're an only child) and they think that their friendship/brother ship is so cute. Jyushi is also the only one Ichimatsu brings up in conversation /pos, any of the others he'll complain about. Mao thinks he is so silly goofy and admires his baseball autism passion. I want them to be closer and sillier friends, like one of Mao's favorite things to do is laugh, and yes Ichi makes them laugh in his own way, but Jyushi's way of doing it is different, not better, different.

Todomatsu He's a bitch. A total... little .... bitch. So, atm, Mao thinks he's a little knife cat bitch who uses his cuteness to manipulate, but ultimately these two are gonna get along great... eventually.... I just don't know how.... Something something fashion, something something hair (I kinda wanna steal/incorporate @ oh-gh0st's headcanon that Totty is into doing hair stuff) so I think he would help them bleach and dye their roots when they come in? Maybe?? I dunno I also just see them gossiping together... about something... i dunno

OMG WAIT YOU WRITE FOR OSOMATSU-SAN??? Is it alr if I ask for headcanons of the bros supporting a trans reader? (ftm preferably but it can be more open if you want it) You don't have to write write all of them if you don't wanna, I just kinda need supportive stuff atm

Admittedly, this is kind of a new concept for the sextuplets. Ichi, Totty and Jyushi (and maybe Kara) are the only ones that have seriously looked into the LGBTQ+ community prior to you coming out, but all 6 are fairly sure they identify as their AGAB, so this is brand new territory. However, they all think it makes sense. If you don't feel like the label that was slapped onto you at birth is a fitting one, you should absolutely be allowed to find and use a better one! It's just common sense, right? It should be common sense, anyway.

Oso doesn't treat you any differently after you come out to him. He won't make it a big deal if you don't want him to. Take it from somebody who is completely the same person now as he was in high school: people change all the time, right? Small changes, big changes, doesn't matter. But you're still yourself when you change. Even if you're completely different today from the person you were yesterday. And that's why he still loves you, because you haven't stopped being yourself. You're just becoming a happier version of yourself, and that's pretty kickass.

Kara gets all poetic about it, like he does for many things. Lots of cute, slightly painful metaphors, like comparing you to a butterfly, or the moon, or a flower blooming, or any other thing in nature that changes phases. Even if it's kinda pretentious, you can't help appreciating how far he goes to make sure you know he loves you no matter what. All the cliche flattery is completely sincere, he means every word. He's just dramatic as hell.

Choro is a little freaked out, not because of you but because he's super worried about saying or doing something wrong and totally ruining everything between you. You have to admit it's cute to watch him fumble over his words and get all worked up, but eventually you reassure him that it's okay to make a mistake here or there. As long as he isn't purposely misgendering or deadnaming you, it's understandable to mess up a few times at first.

Much like Oso, Ichi doesn't feel the need to make a big deal out of it and won't if that's not the energy you're looking for. He's more the kind of person to show his support in small ways. If he manages to find anything with trans pride flag colors, whether they be there intentionally or not, he'll probably get it for you. He'd also be really excited to go to a pride parade or other pride event with you, he's kinda always wanted to but never felt like he had a real reason to before... which is silly in retrospect, he absolutely could have gone if he felt like it. But now he can also go with you, which makes it even more special.

Jyushi is much better than his brothers at parsing out the kind of response you're looking for, his emotional intelligence in general is a lot higher than that of his brothers. So if you're looking for a big, excited reaction from him, he's gonna throw you a coming out party. If you're looking just for acknowledgement, he can also do that. He and Ichi are probably the most likely to Choose Violence when it comes to addressing transphobic assholes, as well.

Y'know, it's kind of a funny coincidence, but people occasionally mistake Totty for a girl. Especially if he's not with his brothers. Sure, he is a bit of a twink and he does care about fashion, but it bothers him that people immediately label him a woman just for those things. Anyway, his point is that people are so weird about gender roles and all that. Like, it's completely baffling what things people will attribute to being Inherent and Exclusive to One Gender Only™️. Having a larynx? Oh that's only for men. Being creative? Oh that's only for women. And so on and so forth. Again, it's baffling. All that to say, try not to let it get to you too much. If people misgender you or are transphobes, they just have bizarre, socially ingrained notions about gender that don't reflect reality. You and him can be cooler, happier individuals than those who are so damn invested in goofy societal expectations.

tw traumadumping

I’ve mentioned it before and have written fics about it, but like my involvement in the fandom at large has always been a coping mechanism for severe tragedies and trauma, which is why i can personally be hypersensitive about anything that could be triggering.

from my mother passing, hospitalizations, abusive marriages, to high risk pregnancy ososan has a firm association to me with very painful things that have happened, so sometimes I’ll come across as intense or overbearing, or maybe I’ll do or say something weird and when asked the situation dramatically shifts from. “Oh well youre just weird” to “oh that’s horrific I would’ve preferred to think of you as weird”

That hospitalization made me so thoroughly suicidal that i started buying my first totty merch hauls, and i wrote a 35k fic called peach boy in about four days bc i just couldn’t sleep. there’s things about ososan that make me immediately dissociate or panic. I actually remember the night i started writing, i had read a fic om ao3, which was only three chapters long, and took like 2 years for it to be updated. It was one of 27 Todomatsu fics.

and i read it, reread it, commented which I’m sure you can still see under the name billy, and i went on their profile for the first time and saw they were a bl. This was probably the night i got out of the hospital, I’m sure i was still sitting in my scrubs at the time.

I remember just buying stuff after that, and going manic and pacing and just sitting down and writing.

and i still write. I don’t have an accurate word count bc there’s stories archived in different places, but i can assure you without any doubt in my mind over written probably since then im total about 10 million words since its my main coping mech

i tend to be pretty selective, and on guard when it comes to this fandom, and my friends and who i interact with bc iv met people i thought were okay, and whove turnt out not to be. It’s difficult but ive tried to be a lot more straightforward, honest about ny boundaries, and be understanding of others. idk where in gojbg with all of this in the end bc im sleepy but its just a poop dookie fart anime
