Hi! Your work is really inspiring, thank you for sharing. I'm an artist who wants to work in the indie game industry, but I have no idea where to start, any tips?
thank you!
i suppose it depends on what kind of art you do, but i can talk about pixel art and what i did
first of all you need a portfolio. it can be tricky cos you need the work to put in there to begin with. i actually had to make tilesets and stuff in my free time because i didn't have much from my jobs i could put in
heres my portfolio btw BUT IF YOU WANT TO WORK ON GAMES, PUT YOUR GAME STUFF AT THE TOP mines at the bottom cos im mostly interested in illustration work
another thing i did was ask people for portfolio reviews, if you know anyone who already works in the industry. if you can find some artists you could even email them and they would prob help you. i got a portfolio crit by a couple people who handle hiring at their studios and it helped a lot
here is an example of a good gameart portfolio they showed me, they hire this guy all the time. if you don't have actual game credits just make that stuff in your free time, they just want to know if you could do what theyre looking for
after you get a portfolio there are a few websites where you can find teams looking to hire, remote and non remote positions
i would really recommend you to start following indie games and studios. you can reach out to them via DM or email etc and there is a good chance they will respond. i was dreaming of working on a particular game before, and I just DMed them and they actually took me on
but mostly people just reach out to me and i do freelance stuff. i would say at about 5-10k followers i was able to consistently find work just through posting regularly
also u should make friends, get involved in communities if possible. twitch is a great place to be. nowadays friends who work on other stuff just reach out to me and offer me to work with them. it takes a while building relationships but that can carry you once you get there
basically just put yourself out there (spread yourself far and wide!!) and keep growing, i think if u post good stuff consistently and make friends u will be fine! there are studios and teams every day looking for artists

do you have any tips on how to live off as artist professionally?
First of all art isn't always a viable option depending where you live. The only reason ive been able to live off art is because the american dollar is worth 5x more than the brazilian real so even if i didn't get many comms i could still get by with the few i had. and if that wasn't the case I'd pretty much be eating breadcrumbs off the floor like a pigeon.
1. Whore yourself out and draw fanart of every popular or trending thing to gather attention to youe art
2. Learn your platforms: learn how each websites algorithm works, learn what are the best hours to post, etc
3. I cannot stress enough how important it is to find your niche
4. Everyone is fake no one wants to be your friend, other popular artists will start following you the moment your following becomes good enough. They'll start to interact with you too and want to become mutuals in order to share followings/traction. If you can play into that you can get them to share your stuff as well, but honestly don't fall for it bc most of them shittalk other artists on their privs or personal servers and the stress isnt worth it
5. Draw nsfw if possible/if you're comfortable with. People who commission porn pay well and they often have very few options when commissioning stuff bc most artists don't accept porn commissions.
6. Accept being an artist is a hard job that doesn't pay really well. If you're freelancing on comms life's always going to be a tightrope, so i suggest trying to do professional work once in a while so you can at least have the security of a salary. Draw backgrounds, gestures, scenes, studies, and the likes, bc those are what companies will want in your portfolio
7. Depending where you live it's extremely hard to live off as an artist, and being an artist is often means a very difficult struggle with finances. It's a job that requires passion, and more often than not turning art in a job causes creative burnout and complete loss of spark for it. Ask yourself: why do you want to be a professional artist? Isn't it better to keep it as a hobby? Maybe a side gig if you need money? You can still pursue art even if you don't do it to earn money, and it doesn't make you any less of an artist. It's a difficult job, and you need to understand its not going to be viable at all times and sometimes you'll have to throw in the towel and do something else to survive and there's 0 shame in that.
8. Be professional and courteous with your clients. Don't be a doormat, but don't go around ghosting people or being passive aggressive or taking them for granted and never deliver any product. Doing art for money is a JOB. Treat it like such. Inform your clients about delays, or any issues that may come up.
9. Take care of yourself and by that i mean eat decent food, exercise your arms, get 8 hours of sleep and get some sun (or take vitamin D periodically if youre a basement dweller). This isn't some self care uwu shit, it's actual science that your body is a machine and not providing what it needs to function leads to issues, and some of those issues include affecting your mental health, and mental health issues include and are not limited to: anxiety, depression, burnout, loneliness, feeling like your art sucks, feeling unmotivated, feeling like you're a failure, etc. Same with physical: for the love of GOD you DON'T want wrist issues. You dont want carpal or ulnar nerve entrapment. Don't draw 24/7. Don't push yourself either. If youre feeling shitty its time to STOP. Just picture a shitty graphics card trying to run minecraft with 5 shaders and 10 mods at once on fullscreen with 60 fps. Thats you. Youre the graphics card
10. Don't be a bitch, don't get involved with drama. Can't be an internet artist if you get cancelled so don't try to start shit at any point in time. Don't be a shit person.
And from the top of my head thats it, hope you like eating plain bread 🍞

#K5NewsFMExclusive: A Dark and Dramatic Conclusion as the 4th Season of Wakfu will be the Last Season of its historic French cartoon series (updated as FINAL!!!)
Tumblr media
(Written by Rhayniel Saldasal Calimpong / Freelanced News Reporter and Presenter of OneNETnews)
ROUBAIX, FRANCE -- The upcoming Season Premiere of Wakfu, which will air on the 'Okoo' kids and teens programming block through French public broadcaster 'France Televisions' is set to be a dramatic heartstopping conclusion. This will mark the beginning of the show's 4th and Final Season, scheduled to debut in early mid-February 2024. It is worth mentioning to recall that the entire production at Ankama Studios in France has been successfully concluded, thanks to the global campaign fund of Kickstarter that took place in late-June 2020.
Tumblr media
(PRESS RELEASE OBTAINED by K5 News FM Dumaguete)
Per the press release exclusively obtained through DWFH-FM 97.7mhz's K5 News FM, the latest synopsis for the final season of a French cartoon show portrays intense and potentially darker scenes that comes up a bit close to happen: "After their destructive battle with Oropo, but also with their own demons, Yugo the Eliatrope and his friends find themselves at the gates of Ingloriom, the realm of the Gods. The Tofu Brotherhood (TFB) has no time to wonder what fate the 12 Divinities have in store for them for this sacrilege: the floating territory is devastated!".

Before an actual final season premiere on a national French television, a sneak preview in the panel is yet to be shown in-person at the Angoulême International Comics Festival (AICF) on Thursday late-afternoon (January 25th, 2024 at 5:30pm -- France local time).

Inside a panel in Angoulême City, the said country, will discuss about the upcoming 4th and Final Season of the show, in the presence of Wakfu show creator named Anthony "Tot" Roux, one of the authors with French YouTuber personality (Malec) and Wakfu's historical Character Designer (Sonia Demechlis).
Tumblr media
(SCREENGRAB COURTESY: Okoo / France Televisions / Ankama Animation via The X Network)
In a televised trailer 'X Network' (formerly Twitter) released Tuesday afternoon (January 16th, 2024), the heroes of the Brotherhood of the Tofu, Yugo the Eliatrope, Prncs. Amalia Sheran Sharm, Ms. Evangelyne the Cra, Mr. Ruel Stroud and among others have fought against formidable enemies and ancient evils. But sadly, things are gone crazier and darker situations as the fate of 'The World of 12' rests on their shoulders.
K5 News FM learns exclusively that the runtime for this 4th Season of Wakfu is 22 minutes long, with a final 13 new episodes.
Tumblr media
(FILE SCREENGRAB COURTESY: Generation TV_FR via YT VIDEO)
French cartoon show of Wakfu was started in the late-October 2008 during France 3's kids programming block "Toowam", before transitioning to Ludo (home of between Wakfu on the said date of 2008 and LoliRock in the late mid-October 2014).
Tumblr media

At the time of the writing with a confirmation from Ankama Studios and Zodiak Kids & Family (part of Banijay Group), theories in French kids cartoon suggest between LoliRock and Wakfu will not be planning to do a crossover episode for now, in and outside of this same public broadcasting network on Wakfu's final season for France Televisions.
Tumblr media
As reported exclusively between AnimeTVFrance news bureau (via The X Network) and Ankama News (also via the press release division of Wakfu), we do know that the new episodes to be aired back-2-back on primetime until early mid-March 2024.
With this, you can catch LIVE new episodes of the final 4th Season of Wakfu, premieres February 9th, 2024 at 1:30pm Eastern / 12:30pm Central (in the United States) / 7:30pm in France -- only on France 4's Okoo programming block and streaming LIVE via the France TV website, Animation Digital Network (ADN) and on the Okoo app for Google Play and Apple App Stores in France.

Hi Alyssa!
I have a random question for you today…
What’s the strangest thing you have ever done for money?
Hi Kat!! Happy Monday!
Oh BOY that sure is a loaded question! hahahaha I have done quite a few strange things for money, honestly. Some of them might not be... how should I put this... sharable. But I have a couple that I certainly can tell you about.
1- Bartender at a Catholic High School fundraiser event. I think it was a fashion show? So I had already been a bartender for about three years when I started student teaching (there was a brief moment in time when I was going to be a HS English teacher) at my old high school (Yes, I attended catholic school for 12 years. Fun fact, that school has since shut down and was most recently used to film the new Mean Girls movie which I have not seen but the trailers trip me out because there's Tina Fey standing in my old history classroom lol) and was also coaching the girls' track team, so I was around the school often. Someone in the main office overheard me talking to one of the other teachers - who just so happened to be a friend that I bartended with in the summer - about being a bartender, so they asked me to "bartend" (it was just wine and beer) this event (that was held in the cafeteria). I guess it's not that strange, but it was a weird like... worlds colliding thing for me. Still, it was an easy $100.
2- I wrote social media posts for a cab company in London. For a while I was freelancing on Fiverr and was hired to write... so many strange articles, posts, press releases etc. (One time a really small scale rapper contacted me to write some reviews for his music and told me he was gonna take me to the top and I literally have not stopped laughing about that because no, sir, you are not taking me to the top you are paying me $5 to say your music is good which it wasn't horrible but it definitely wasn't going anywhere near the top. Another time I had to write 1500 words about different types of mattresses.) But my one repeat client was this cab company in London that had me rewrite all the copy for their website. And I have never been to London.
3- I sold donor recognition plaques. This one was strange in so many ways. I worked for a tiny company that specialized in making those like big wall installations and like trees that you see in hospitals and temples/churches and universities and other institutions where boosters/donors have their names on like plaques or leaves. It was strange working there for a lot of reasons. The company had been around for 100 years at the time I was working there, and if you looked around the office and workshop, you could tell. There was an entire room of paper records (non digitized, despite the fact that digitization exists and despite the fact that this company had already suffered a fire like 40 years ago and lost all their records) the workshop was like part functional creative space, part fucking museum because some of the tools were like The Original Tool. But the strangest part about working there was the fact that the three owners all seemed to be locked in a constant battle with each other which made it impossible to get anything done. But yeah. If you've ever been in a temple or hospital in NY, NJ or the surrounding area, chances are the tiny dysfunctional company I worked for made their plaques.

A rant for freelance writers
My fellow writers, you are being grossly underpaid. I’ve been freelance writing intermittently for over a decade, and during that time the rate for freelance writing has dropped. Yes, you read that correctly. Dropped.
I’ve returned to freelance writing during the pandemic because I need the schedule flexibility and work from home perks (thank you, health issues). I was offered a role that paid $10 per article. Yes. $10. I have over a decade of experience and have worked with some pretty big company names, and yet I was offered the same rate I was given as a new college grad with literally no experience a decade ago - and that was considered painfully low back then. In 2013 I made $10/article, but by 2014 I was making $50-$75/article. By 2015 I was averaging $100 per assignment.
Needless to say, I declined the $10 role.
Content farming websites like Comic Book Resources, ScreenRant - basically every publication under Valnet, amongst others - are taking advantage of you. Here are the rates I was told for an entertainment writer role at CBR. Again. I’ve been doing this for over 10 years and have a Master’s degree.  “The compensation rates for this position are based on a combination of rates for pay-per-post (PPP) and pay-per-view (PPV).  PPV rates are applied after every 1,000 views. News: $10 ($10 PPP) + $0.33 per 1k views Flash News: $5 ($5 PPP) + $0.25 per 1k views”  When pressed for the average views per article, I was told anywhere between 2,000 to 200,000. Which means you can be earning as little as $10.66 per article, while $76/per is the top end. I made $75/article in 2014 with just over a year of experience. The math ain’t mathing.  This issue isn’t exclusive to Valnet, either. Time and time again I’m seeing roles for writers listed at minimum wage. Some of the higher paying ones are still only offering $25 an hour regardless of experience level. Yet they receive hundreds, if not thousands of applicants.
We can argue that this is just another symptom of wage stagnation, inflation, the recession we’re in that may or may not be manufactured. But, I worry that the rise of AI has led to the devaluation of the writer, much as it threatens the digital artist. Why pay actual humans what an AI will do for free? Just plug in the topic and some old articles and watch as your content is repurposed into something fresh. No one will be able to tell.
In the age of AI everything, the economy has come to undervalue good writers. Our creativity. Our humanity.
I do not have a solution here, except to suggest that folks fucking stop working for Valnet because they’re exploitative. Even then, I don’t hold it against you if you do work for them. As I sit here filling out applications for roles that pay far less than my ending wage at my last position, I’m forced to swallow my pride simply because times are tough. Jobs are harder to come by, even though ‘everyone is hiring’. The longterm effects of COVID are real, and limiting.  I have no solution, but I want you all to know that you deserve better. Your time and expertise have value. Writing is hard.
You deserve fair compensation.

Top 14 Freelance Websites to Find and Hire Skilled Freelancers for Your Business Needs
Tumblr media
According to Upwork, the world’s largest freelancer platform (generates over $2 billion in yearly revenue by the way), From 2020 to 2021, overall earnings from freelance work in the U.S. grew by $100 million, with total earnings of $1.3 trillion. Traditional job search methods of local newspapers and in-person agencies are a thing of the past. Freelancing websites are not even the new-normal at this point, they’re just normal. These websites offer a wealth of opportunities for those looking to work from home or break into the freelance world, as well as for those looking for experts to complete specific tasks for their business. If you're on the other side of the coin Finding freelance work can be a daunting task, but with the right resources, it doesn't have to be. From creating a professional profile to preparing a CV or portfolio, the process can be overwhelming. When looking for a freelance platform, there are many factors to consider such as job quality, user experience, and recruiter quality. The following list of sites has been carefully curated based on customer reviews, job availability, and overall user experience to make your search for freelance work easier and more efficient.
Best Freelance Websites (The Go-Tos)
1. Toptal (Best for top-tier Talent)
Tumblr media
The crown jewel of freelance work, Toptal is a freelance website that connects highly qualified freelance industry experts with organizations. And I mean HIGHLY and Exclusively qualified since only 3% of applicants get through to work using the platform. But once you make it past the rigorous 5-step application and screening procedure, you’ll be matched with the best companies and big names like Google, Microsoft, Shopify, Airbnb, and so on. Positions such as Developer, Designer, Finance Expert, Project Manager, and Product Manager are among the most common. Taso Du Val, CEO of TopTal stated in an interview with CNBC that the recruiting process is one-on-one, with candidates examined and approved personally at each stage. Surprisingly, the majority of Toptal's talent is based outside of the United States. If you think this is out of your league though, consider starting with the others listed below and working your way up. Let’s move on to the next one. 2. Upwork (Best for dependable long-term freelancers)
Tumblr media
Upwork has been tested and reviewed by many with more than average underwhelming results, so why is it second on our list? The reason for this is that it is a great platform for beginners to start their freelance careers. However, some clients can be hesitant to invest a lot of money and time on low-quality freelancers, so they tend to start with small, low-paying tasks to test the freelancer's skills. This can lead to some clients on Upwork themselves being seen as "low-quality", which isn't always the case. To address this, Upwork has introduced a feature that allows clients to post jobs for freelancers based in the United States only. Here is a Tip, there is a feature called "Work Diary" which allows you to track the time your freelancer spends on the task, take screenshots of their work, and view their activity level. This feature can be useful in ensuring that your freelancer is working efficiently and effectively, and can also be used as evidence in case of disputes or issues with payment. Additionally, Upwork also has a built-in payment protection system that holds funds in escrow until the client is satisfied with the work and releases payment to the freelancer. 3. AngelList Talent *now Wellfound (Best for Startups)
Tumblr media
AngelList is a website built just for startups. As you can probably tell by the name the platform is where angel investors, and job-seekers looking to work at startups meet. When hiring freelancers on AngelList, it's important to keep in mind that the platform is geared towards startup companies and early-stage ventures. This means that the pool of talent may be more experienced in working with startups and may have a different skill set than freelancers found on other platforms. It's also important to thoroughly review the freelancer's portfolio and past work experience to ensure they have the necessary skills and experience for your project. One "secret" to keep in mind when using AngelList is that the platform has a built-in referral system. This means that if you find a freelancer through a referral, the freelancer may offer you a discounted rate or other incentives. It's worth asking if the freelancer you're interested in working with has any referrals, as it can save you money and also help ensure that the freelancer is a good fit for your project. 4. LinkedIn (Recommended)
Tumblr media
LinkedIn is one of the most popular work environments, providing a basic method for obtaining positions in a variety of fields. It's more recognizable as a communication platform for experts to network and connect. Side note: You should have a LinkedIn profile regardless of your field, particularly if you're a Business Owner. Now that that's out of the way, why is LinkedIn ranked fourth on our list? LinkedIn may appear to be a social media site, but it is actually a search engine with 0.9 billion users! It also has a special place for talent on Linkedin Talent Solutions. Posting a job on LinkedIn is a straightforward process. First, make sure you have a LinkedIn Recruiter account, which is a paid subscription that allows you to post jobs and access a larger pool of job seekers. Once you're logged in, click on the "Jobs" tab on the top navigation bar and select "Post a Job." Fill in the job title, location, and description, then select the appropriate job function and industry. You can also target your job listing to specific groups of people using LinkedIn's targeting options. Once you've finished, click "Post Job" and your listing will be live on LinkedIn for potential candidates to apply. Linkedin also allows you to Boost your job post to reach a larger audience and increase the chances of finding the right candidate. 5. We Work Remotely (Best for remote-Only Talent)
Tumblr media
We Work Remotely is a job board where businesses advertise only work that can be completed remotely. Google and Basecamp recruiters use this site to find possible freelancers. Jobs are posted every several hours, and the site is quite busy. The website receives over 235K visits each month and has a fairly simple user experience. The portal links people with high-caliber opportunities in corporations worldwide. As a result, you will get talent with ideally a higher degree and a lot of experience. To entice prospects, the site includes employer branding and company biographies, and it screens true distant freelancing tasks rather than ambiguous gigs. It's worth noting that recruiting businesses spend $200 to publish a single position for 30 days. This is a significant signal that the platform attracts people with high qualifications and skills. 6. Fiverr (Best to find fair Prices)
Tumblr media
Fiverr got its name because it initially worked with fast independent gigs for $5 — but it's grown a lot since then. Many savvy freelancers use lower retail prices for minor activities to entice new clients. Similar to setting a small sample so that they will need to contact you for larger projects. You can directly contact the freelancer even before ordering a Gig which provides a streamlined method for you to interact the details of the project and if it's possible to proceed with a gig. It is worth noting that on the website, freelancers are referred to as sellers, their services as gigs, and business owners as buyers. If you're looking to hire some freelancers but don't want to deal with the hassle of sifting through resumes and conducting interviews, Fiverr is your knight in shining armor. Sure, the quality of freelancers may not be top-notch, but with a user base as massive as Fiverr's, you're bound to find someone who can get the job done. And for all you freelancers out there, Fiverr is like a buffet of job opportunities - you'll find something for every skill set. Plus, Fiverr takes care of the money stuff for you, so you don't have to worry about chasing down payments or sending invoices. Just finish the job, collect your dough, done! 7. Freelancer.com (Best for Project Management and Collabs)
Tumblr media
Freelancer.com claims that 80% of its positions receive an offer in sixty seconds or less! Now that’s a bold statement. The size of this site implies that it is appropriate for a wide range of large and small tasks, and you can utilize the site's enrollment and venture the board specialists if you require some guidance. Because of the wide range of abilities, clients can easily locate a freelancer of any kind. It's one of the most direct freelance commercial centers on the web, so it's no surprise that companies like Amazon, IBM, and Google use it. It's also quite possibly the largest freelance-focused website - the organization claims to have a global pool of fifty million freelancers who have mastery of over 1800 distinct abilities. Additionally, Freelancer.com offers a wide range of features such as project management tools, time tracking, and milestone payments, which make it easy for businesses to manage their projects and payments with freelancers. Overall, Freelancer.com's breadth of options and level of security makes it a unique and valuable platform for businesses looking to hire freelancers.
Best Freelance Websites (Industry Specific)
8. Mayple (Best for Marketing and Advertising)
Tumblr media
We tossed in Mayple here because it’s such a specialized one with massive potential for not only marketers but companies that need their voices to be heard. It is great for companies that need help with customer engagement and promoting their brand. Unlike other websites like Upwork or Fiverr, Mayple focuses specifically on marketing and has a group of experienced marketers to help take your business to the next level. Apparently, companies such as Wix, Microsoft, and Amazon have reportedly leveraged it for marketing purposes. Their pricing table is very straightforward, with options such as Email Marketing, Social Media, Influencer Marketing, and a WYSIWYG dynamic pricing structure dependent on the customer's monthly budget. (The Media Package has a monthly minimum of $1,800.) As a result, this could be a great opportunity for you as well. Everyone wins 9. Behance and 99designs (Best for Design Talent)
Tumblr media
Behance is like the fancy art school of freelance websites. It's where all the cool kids with mad design skills hang out and show off their portfolios. But don't be intimidated, even big names like Pentagram and Wolff Olins are on here! Just think of it as a virtual art gallery where you can browse through some seriously impressive work and maybe even hire the artist to create something amazing for your own business. It is famous enough to have a ton of projects yet underrated enough to have little competition with good-quality clients. On the other hand, there is 99designs, a unique platform that offers a different approach to hiring freelance designers. Instead of browsing through portfolios and handpicking a designer, businesses can launch a design contest and receive multiple designs from various designers. This allows for a wider range of options and the ability to choose the best design that fits the business' needs. However, it's important to keep in mind that the process can be time-consuming and may not always guarantee the desired outcome. But, it's a great platform to have a variety of designs to choose from and for discovering new talents 10. Codeable (Best to find WordPress Devs)
Tumblr media
Now, this is a little special in that it’s a premium WordPress outsourcing platform based in Denmark. How’s that special? The vetting procedure at Codeable is quite extensive, including written and live exams, a Skype interview, and even a trial period. This contrasts with generic freelance services like Upwork and Fiverr where freelancers are continuously pressured to cut their pricing in order to compete with others. Additionally, they only concentrate on WordPress Developers. When it comes to pricing, developers will estimate an average cost depending on the number of hours it will take them, multiplied by their hourly rate. The sum of these individual estimations is divided by the number of developers that provided estimates. This prevents a "race to the bottom" and maintains a high standard of quality. You will be required to generate a work scope, as soon as you arrive at Codeable. The time it takes to do this and receive a response from a Codeable contractor is often under a day. The response usually includes further discussions before a quote is issued. If you're a business using WordPress for your website it’s an obvious go-to, which is why it is on this list. 11. Flexjobs (Best for Flexible Arrangements)
Tumblr media
FlexJobs is a job search website that specializes in providing telecommuting, flexible schedules, part-time, and freelance job opportunities. It is unique in that it focuses solely on these types of jobs, rather than a wide range of job opportunities like many other job search websites. Additionally, FlexJobs hand-screens and curates every job listing on its website, ensuring that all job opportunities are legitimate and high-quality, as opposed to many other job search websites which are not able to verify the authenticity of every job listing. FlexJobs does not focus solely on freelance jobs, but its emphasis on flexible working implies that it has a large number of them listed. The organization disseminates data on the patterns and benefits of remote work adaptability indefinitely. According to a 2015 study conducted by FlexJobs, 76 percent of workers chose to work remotely when they needed to be useful while dealing with significant tasks. 12. GitHub and Stack Overflow (Best for hiring Devs)
Tumblr media
Hiring developers on GitHub can be a great way to find talented individuals who are actively working on and contributing to open-source projects. Since GitHub is primarily used by developers to share and collaborate on code, it's a good way to find developers who are already experienced with the technologies and tools you're looking for. Additionally, by looking at a developer's contributions to open-source projects, you can get a sense of their coding style, problem-solving skills, and ability to work on a team. Stack Overflow all the while can also be a great way to find talented individuals. Stack Overflow is a community-driven website for developers where they can ask and answer questions related to programming. This can help you find developers who are passionate about coding and eager to learn and improve their skills. Additionally, Stack Overflow has a jobs section where employers can post job listings and developers can search for job opportunities. This can be a good way to find developers who are actively looking for new job opportunities. The platform also offers a feature called "Work with us" which allows companies to showcase their culture, perks, and benefits that they offer which makes it easy for developers to understand if the company culture aligns with their values and if they'll fit in. 13. Linkedin Sales Navigator (Best to find Sales Reps)
Tumblr media
Now, this is one you probably haven't heard of before. LinkedIn Sales Navigator is a powerful tool within LinkedIn that allows companies to find and connect with potential sales reps. It offers advanced search filters and Boolean search options, so you can narrow down your search to find the most relevant candidates. It also has a feature called "Recruiter Lite" that allows companies to post job listings and search for potential candidates. This can be a great way to find sales reps who are already active on LinkedIn and have built a professional network and reputation. One of the key benefits of using LinkedIn Sales Navigator is the ability to see a candidate's professional network and connections, which can give you a sense of their level of experience and the types of companies they've worked with in the past. Additionally, you can see a candidate's activity on LinkedIn, such as the groups they're a member of, the content they're sharing and the conversations they're having. 14. Upcounsel (Best to hire related to Legal)
Tumblr media
UpCounsel is a platform that connects businesses with top-rated legal freelancers. It offers a wide range of legal services, from drafting contracts and agreements to providing legal advice and representation. The platform pre-screens and approves all of its lawyers to ensure that they meet the highest professional standards, and have the necessary experience and qualifications to handle the specific needs of a client. One of the main advantages of using UpCounsel is the ability to find and hire legal freelancers quickly and easily. Read the full article

7 Ways Make Money Online
1. Convert your passion into money
A tool to help support the creator economy and the gig economy, Festi is an easy, fast and free way to earn money. Using Festi’s payment platform, creators can charge for online classes from anywhere at any time. “For example, if you are a fitness instructor and realize you have an hour to work out at the end of the day (or the next morning), you can post a pop-up workout (in person or on Zoom) and charge people to join you,” says founder Rita Ting-Hopper. Two of the top users are Bolivian sisters Jaz and Gabriela, who post high-intensity dance fitness classes. “With Festi, you can turn any idea into a business by posting your offer in literally minutes,” says Ting-Hopper. “There is no need to create a website, figure out a payment system or chase down Venmos to get paid.”
2. Make music
Have some musical talent? Check out Songfinch, which makes it possible for anyone to earn money by writing and producing music. Founded in 2016, Songfinch is backed by big industry names including The Weeknd, Quincy Jones and Doja Cat. Here’s how it works: People can order a personalized one-of-a-kind song from a Songfinch artist, from birthday jingles to holiday tunes to anniversary odes. The songwriters work on their own timeline and retain the full rights to everything they create. Some Songfinch artists have been able to earn up to $80,000 in one year.
3. Become a virtual assistant
As a virtual assistant, you can offer administrative, technical or creative services to clients from the comfort of your own home. And guess what—it pays well. You can find virtual assistant job opportunities through websites like Flexjobs, 24/7 Virtual Assistants and Fancy Hands.
4. Write a book
Whether you’re burning to pen the next great American novel or just have an idea for an e-book that will teach someone how to do something, it’s easier to write a book than you think. Gone are the days of agents and book publishers. These days, self-publishing has become simple and profitable, thanks to sites like Barnes & Noble Press (a free service that lets you sell print or ebooks to millions of readers), Blurb (which helps you create, print and sell professional-quality photo books) and Lulu (a print-on-demand platform with free tools to help create, publish and sell your story).
5. Offer freelance services
Writing, editing, graphic design, coding, digital marketing, admin work—whatever skill you have, the options are endless when it comes to freelancing. But how to get the word out there? You can easily offer services to clients around the world via a number of websites that allow users to enjoy the freedom and flexibility of finding freelance work from anywhere across the globe to grow your brand—and your dreams. Some of the best online talent solutions for connecting businesses with freelancers include Fiverr, Upwork, Freelancer and Working Not Working.
6. Market your skills
Or perhaps your skills are more hands-on, from handyman work to cleaning to moving to home remodeling to something as simple as waiting in line. TaskRabbit is a platform that connects people with skilled professionals who can complete various tasks, while Airtasker is a company that acts as a marketplace for services providers. Unlike the traditional gig economy, Airtasker uses a flex economy model, with its “Taskers” working wherever and whenever they want and determining how much they want to get paid.
7. Share your internet bandwidth
Here’s an interesting way to earn passive income: Honeygain, an app that allows you to make money online by sharing your Internet connection. How does it work? Install the application and make sure that it’s running in the background; the app will do the work for you. The shared connection is used for various business cases, including ad verification, price comparison and brand protection. According to Honeygain, the company takes privacy seriously and uses various encryption technologies to ensure that the data being transmitted through the platform is safe and protected. Users can increase their earnings by adding more devices and connecting them to different IP addresses, adding referrals, opening a “lucky pot” every day and participating in social media contests.

The only way to protect their crew is a series of trials for control of an underworld faction–and vying for a matriarch’s throne is a dream Riven can’t let go. But as the trials intensify, the saboteur hounds Asa and Riven’s every step, determined to kill Asa and right her father’s wrongs. Top 5 Reasons to Read
I had wanted to read the first book in this duology, City of Shattered Light, since it came out but hadn’t done so yet, so I loved getting to binge this series for this tour! What amazing fun this set is! Below are my top 5 reasons to read City of Vicious Night, which really goes for the whole series, just FYI.
1. These books are such a great example of both sisterhood and the power of female friendships. Asa would do absolutely anything to save her sister Kaya, and book 2 really digs deeper into their sisterhood.
2. We have an incredible group of misfits and outlaws that are an amazing example of why I love the found family trope so much! Riven, Asa, Ty, Samir, Diego, Kaya...I love them all separately but together they’re unstoppable!
3. I love the LGBTQ+ rep in this series; kind of like in the best TV show ever, Schitt’s Creek, it’s just a version of the world in which people are what they are and love who they love and there’s not really any need for explanation or justification.
4. We’ve got heists and deadly competitions -- in space! Enough said.
5. AI, cybernetics, and spaceships, oh my! Seriously, everything we love about cyberpunk sci-fi is here and I just love the world Claire Winn has created with this series.
Really there are more reasons to read this (both kick-butt and ridiculously smart women, budding romance, the sweetest pup) but these are my top 5. I hope you’ll check out the Requiem Dark duology today! Both books were 5-star reads for me.
**Disclosure: I received a copy of this book from the publisher for purposes of this tour.
Make sure you check out the Bookstagram tour too! You can find my post here, and the full schedule is here.
