Alright, it's Halloween peeps (everyone knows that Halloween lasts the whole month). And @wheezystan inspired me with their zombie weasels to post about something that's been brewing in my head for a while.

The Rotten Ink AU

Warning for... Well, zombies. And the horror and angst that comes with it. And isolation, and the insanity that that comes with as well. What have I done to our favorite toons?

Note that this AU is still being developed. I apologize if it doesn't look so cohesive 😅

~Story~

Set two years before the events of the film, in 1945. No one knows what happened. Not the humans, not the toons, not even the animators responsible for breathing life into ink and paint. Though things have started to go terribly wrong in Toontown.

It's hard to pinpoint when it started, though the first sign was when toons started to feel pain. Instead of a hand comically turning red and blowing up in size when smashed or punching a brick wall, the skin started to actually rip- and in worse cases, the bones would break just like a human. The second horrible sign was that, unlike a human, these wounds wouldn't heal. No matter how many bandages were applied and stitches were sewn. And the ink that made their person would ooze from the seams.

It wasn't just the sentient toons that were changing. The living architecture of Toontown started to rot away, coughing up coagulated ink onto the street and becoming more brittle. The chirping blue birds lost their song and would fall from the sky. Even the smiling sun and moon that used to shine brightly in the animated sky bled out, and their remains rained down onto the once bright and colorful town. Of course, this caused a panic among everyone. Though the humans assured the toons to remain calm, as they were already looking into what was happening. So, filled with dread, the toons attempted to continue life as normal.

However, it was only after an infected toon went deranged in a studio, causing so much damage to the other toons and people, did the humans decide on a drastic choice. It was taking too long to find an answer to what was happening to their beloved characters, and they saw no other choice but to cut them off from the rest of Los Angeles. The tunnel was closed off, with policemen guarding the entrance with orders to shoot on sight if any toons attempted to reach the outside world.

So now, the residents are stuck in the dying town. As time went by, neighbors were forced to fight each other as the infection grew worse and worse, turning each other into what everyone refer to as 'inkies'; toons that are husks of their former selves, with a seemingly insatiable urge to rip anyone they see apart for more ink. Toons have had to learn how to be cautious for their own lives, and as resources and shelter become more scarce, even those who have not completely fallen under the infection are now potential threats.

How did this all get started? Will there ever be a cure? Will everyone be turned to normal again? No one knows. But for now, all one can do is survive.

~Tid-Bits~

I was mainly inspired by The Walking Dead, and not just in the title. The infection in this AU works similarly to the virus in TWD (at least the Telltale game that I played). In that everyone is infected, and you not being bit doesn't mean you won't turn once you die. In fact, for the toons, as long as they don't get themselves killed, being bit will not turn them. The disease is already doing that job. It's mostly only a matter of time before someone is turned into an inky.

As such, there are plenty of toons that have bite marks, and even parts of themselves missing, yet they are completely safe to be around. As long as they aren't willing to hurt others to survive.

Since this is before the events of the movie, that does mean that Marvin Acme is still alive. In fact, he's the one leading the cause for finding a cure for toons. So he plays quite a big role in this AU.

That also means that the weasels are alive, too. And thriving. In this AU, they're the kind of group of survivors that the others find themselves depending on, as they are the ones who are willing to raid any inky infested area for supplies, but people are still afraid of them since they still act as a gang. They're kind of like a necessary evil in this town. Though as long as you don't get on their bad side, you'll be fine.

Since toons are based on emotion, having been made to make people laugh or cry, inkies are only permanently killed when you shoot them in the heart. Much like a vampire, yes.

I'm still debating it, but I'm thinking that, like the zombies in Shaun of the Dead, the inkies retain some semblance of their past life. For example, a cowboy inky may keep holding onto their revolver or stick by their horse despite them serving no purprise to it anymore.

What Escaped from home au about?

Hello! I'm glad that you asked. This will contain a lot of rambling. The Escaped from Home au takes place where Puppets and Toons exist in the real world (or put it: The Au takes place in the same universe as Roger Rabbit and Bonkers). The main focus is Gen, a former Wally Darling backup puppet who managed to escape from the Playfellow Workshop a year prior to its abrupt end.

Despite being a puppet, Gen witnessed the absolute horror house known as the Playfellow Workshop. The only reason why he escaped was before everything went to hell, a puppeteer quit their job due to the mismanagement and their concern for their own mental health. the puppeteer managed to leave with a sentient Wally Darling backup, and ever since, Gen (he named himself) strides to avoid being associated with Welcome Home, the studio, and most of all: Being Wally Darling.

Welcome Home has been off the air for about 50 years, therefore Gen has witnessed the growing world and had been experiencing a whole kind of entertainment from Toons, Puppets, and everyone else in between. He's a huge fan of the 70s punk scene and knows how to wield a guitar. (He doesn't like to be labeled as "emo"). He does a lot to distance himself from being recognized as a Wally Darling. Gen also does not like to remember his times being at the Playfellow Workshop. He thought he was all alone until years later during the 50 years, he met June, a Sally Starlet backup who survived the ordeal on whatever happened at the studio is was taken by mechanics at one of Toontown's local auto repairs. She's well-customed to her community and therefore knows her way around town. It was believed that puppets are more susceptible to damage given their felt and flammable nature, however, June wants to prove them wrong.

Unlike Gen, June has a few fond memories as Sally's backup but she isn't the star of the show, June often wanders around the studio to see the busy mechanics at the workshop, being fascinated by it. She isn't as used as Gen when they were backups, therefore she treats the show as a distant memory. All fine and dandy until the duo found the website of Welcome Home and everyone who they talked to before increasing their questions on what happens with the show. That's where Gen is being forced to confront his past while, not having the same experience, June is helping him among the way. There are more characters in the thinking process but I'm getting more solid on what the "Howdy" and "Eddie's" roles will be. The former works at the Toon Communes helping out out-of-the-job entertainers while the latter works deep underneath the Toontown streets. This is what happens when I'm obsessed with the idea of being an actor au but overanalyzing what is like to be a man-made entertainer.

(Open rp) Toon Jack au and Toontown Au in "Sunny day Love"

On the Night after Prom...Ron Came home With Kim and Bonnie without saphira knowing...until..She turns on the light...and there she is, Sitting Down on the chair...crossing her arms with a dead Serious grim-like look on her face with fury and rage...and then..Saphira said," What...were...you..thinking!? Cheating on me with my best friend AND my arch bully, I Knew you never change!" Ron was Flabergasted...he wanted to make an excuse...but saphira throws alot of evidence of pictures and all..and she told him that she gave that evidence to the news...including the voice recordings and all..and then she said," How could you?..Of all the things you've done to me..but this!! This!! Took the Fucking cake, I've had enough!..i'm done, And when I graduate...i'm moving somewhere far away where a place that your not welcomed to! and also..my good penpal friend Jessica rabbit was right about you! your nothing but a lying cheating scum!".... After graduated..everyone gives those 3 a serious Jeering..and as for saphira..she moves away to a special town called "Toontown" after Those 3 paid saphira compensation for all the damages they cause...Then afterthat,, alot of toons saw saphira returning to the town..and everyone knows that saphira is Joey drews famous lady in toontown known as "Saphy the Lovely kitsune", She's a bit celebrity in the whole city and town.. and then.. afterShe settled in with a Nice big mansion...She began to head to the "ink and Paint Club" where her good penpal friend was working there...when she meets jessica rabbit..she and jessica talk together and tell them what happens..and all..until..Marie Maroon, daughter Of R.K Maroon began to offer saphira a Show that she can be reconized again once more as a star..and Saphira accepted...and Marie said," Saphy,,your going to be a best love interest with Mr. Sunny day jack..in Sunny day jack Show!..are you in?" Then saphira answers," You kidding? I'm in!..it's good to be back in the Show buisness!" She said with a smiles...and the next day..She comes into the studio with a lovely Kimono that she had on during the show with bendy...then Marie said," Oh there she is! Saphy the Lovely Kitsune is back On Screen! " Staff and producers applaude to her and saphira giggles and thanked them...and then..She said," OH! your getting a roommate with that lovely mansion of yours.. Jack! Where are ya?" Then she sees jack in his trailer and she said" Sunny day jack,,come and Meet your Partner, Jack..this is Joey drews Famous beauty of them all, Saphy herself!" She introduce saphira to him..and she said," Well hello there sweet thing~" and then....

Just had a very nice new au idea pop up in my head

Basically it’s sorta like the toontown au but mixed with bendy and the ink machine

Claire is the sort of Alice Angel in this (she gets to be a villain because I think she deserves that for once)

Clark and Brenda are sorta like borris and the other Alice

Hersh is somewhat similar to Henry but is not at the same time

Luke is sorta baby bendy

Basically Hershel stumbles upon this old studio (a studio where he used to work before his career shot off)

It’s extremely run down and most of the drawings are either destroyed or like barely surviving

But one, the one of his favourite toons he and his friend Randall created

Claire the angel.

She was everything a toon should be, a little zany but with a heart of gold her goal was to make everyone smile when they watched her on tv.

Until Randall decided to put her back in the drawers and never once did anyone hear about Claire the angel again.

No one never found out why Randall changed his mind, maybe it was the money and fame.

Until now, there in the studio he meets his old friends Clark and Brenda (somewhat half toons) who tell him that Claire had gone on a rampage after he had left dragging a half toonish Randall to the basement where she now resides

Along with an army of ink monsters who will kill on sight

There he notices that most of the posters of his toons are pretty much destroyed or just singed and have been replaced by Claire’s posters

She’s become obsessed with her looks and being number one and has now become what Brenda and Clark call the ink demon

A shell of the toon they once knew and loved.

It’s up to them and other lost toons to destroy her power or succumb to the ink themselves.

I guess you could say this is like a mix of a Epic mickey/bendy and the ink machine au style thing

Idk I just think it would be neat honestly!

An Angel’s Lament, chapter 3: The Fall

This story will go into how Sammy and Susie’s relationship played out in my “canon” AU. This is the last chapter of it.

I hope you all enjoy this.

Today was the day. Joey had rounded everyone up for a screening of the Alice Angel backstory episode that would be debuting tonight- now titled “The Rise and Fall.” Susie couldn’t wait to see it in its finished glory- she’d put her heart into this one and so had Sammy.

Sammy was already there when she’d arrived, and beckoned her over. She sat next to him as the film started to roll.

The episode itself was excellent. Alice, a newcomer in toontown, was experiencing some culture shock. Bendy was along with her, trying to figure out her interests and how to woo her. Eventually, the fact that she didn’t know how to do anything down there got to her and she ran off to be alone and sing about how she’d been denied at the gates and left down here for an unknown purpose. It was a beautiful song, and Bendy and Boris had overheard it. The episode ended with Bendy and Boris sharing their toon town culture with her to show her that hey, this is a pretty good place to live, too.

The audience clapped. For the most part, it was out of politeness, and Susie knew it- spirits had not been high in the studio as of late thanks to the ink machine. But she didn’t care. This was way better than the episode that had made her famous, and she was sure that “The Angel’s Lament” would be hitting the radio, too. This would go great.

Joey made his announcements about when the episode would be released and then dismissed everyone.

“Wait!” Susie called out.

“Yes, Susie?” Joey replied.

Susie stood up and pulled Sammy up with her. “I just wanted to thank Sammy for this. I couldn’t have given such a good show without his coaching.” Susie turned to Sammy. “You’ve been a really great mentor, Sammy. And a really great boyfriend.” With that, she pulled him down to kiss him on the cheek. A few people around them awed.

Sammy seemed to be stunned silent. Oh no... I messed up... she thought. Maybe he didn’t know that Joey was okay with workplace relationships? Maybe he wasn’t ready to go public?

“Um. Thank you, Susie. It’s been a pleasure working with you.” His voice was stiff, professional. With that, he left the room, seemingly in a bit of a rush.

Thankfully, Jack was close by. Susie didn’t know him well, but all of the music department knew that he and Sammy very pretty close. And Jack looked pretty dismayed, too- maybe he’d know what this was about. “What was that?” she asked. “Did I do something wrong?”

"I don’t think so. I’ll... talk it out with him later,” Jack said, his voice steady.

Sammy called Susie late the following night and promised to explain everything to her, but first, she wanted her to come out for drinks with him and Jack. Odd request, but Sammy’s odd behaviour hadn’t bothered her that much anyhow. They made plans to do it the following Friday.

The next week of work was fantastic. The episode had gone over great, Susie had yet another song on the radio, and everyone in the music room was gossiping over the relationship that she and Sammy apparently had. She was all too eager to answer their questions.

“So you and Sammy...?” Wally asked as soon as she came into work on Monday.

“Yep,” she said, watching the look of disappointment on his face.

How long? When? How did you break down break down his walls? Is he a good kisser? It almost got tiring. Almost.

When Friday rolled around, getting drinks with Sammy and Jack had gone swimmingly- Jack seemed like a great guy and a great musical partner to Sammy. They’d exchanged stories about parties and whatnot, and Jack had told her stories from back when he and Sammy performed together. It was nice. Sammy had seemed kind of somber, though.

As Sammy was walking her home afterwards, she spoke up. “Hey. If you don’t want to tell me why you were hesitating to go public, it’s fine. It’s my fault anyhow for not asking you first.”

Sammy sighed heavily, his breath steaming in the cold weather. “No, this is something you need to know. I want to be honest with you going forward. And before I say it: I asked you to come out with us because I don’t want you to have any ill will towards Jack. He didn’t know anything, alright? He’s blameless.”

“Okay,” Susie said. Sammy’s seriousness was making her nervous.

Sammy took a deep breath and looked around to make sure no one was around to hear. “Alright. Jack and I were romantically involved for six years. I didn’t exactly close out my relationship with him before I started dating you. We were taking a break from our relationship. And-” Sammy buried his face in one hand. “I was dating the two of you simultaneously for a few weeks. We kissed. We did more than that. Break up with me if you want.”

Susie looked shocked. “...Why?” she demanded, in that high-pitched voice she used when she was especially upset.

“Look, Jack and I only had our temporary break up because I wasn’t happy at the studio. When that changed and he noticed it, what was I supposed to tell him? I wasn’t sure which of you I wanted to be with yet and I didn’t want to miss my chance with either of you.”

“But he knows that you chose me, right?”

“Yes. He understands the situation.”

Susie was inclined to believe him. Jack knew about their relationship, after all, and he seemed much too kind to knowingly have an affair.

“I see,” Susie said, a thoughtful look on her face. Sammy could practically see the pedestal he was rightfully being knocked off of.

There were a lot of questions she could ask. She could mention the kiss they’d shared in front of the entire music department the week before. She seemed to assume that Sammy had chosen her instead of having been found out and broken up with. Would she mention that he and Jack were still living together and demand that he distance himself from him? Would she resent Jack? And of course, there was a high chance that she’d break up with him.

Sammy could barely handle the tension as they walked in awkward silence, Susie in front with a little anger in her stride. “So. Where do we go from here?” he finally asked.

“Oh, we can still date. It’s just that I get you now. You think you’re hot stuff and so you only date people who are useful for you. Fair enough. I’ll enjoy my turn.”

“Okay. I’m glad you still want me. I think you’re wrong about me, though. ”

There were a lot of things that Sammy could have said. He could have pointed out that dating a man was in fact dangerous and the opposite of useful to him, and he wasn’t the selfish hotshot that Susie was making him out to be. He could have insisted that he wouldn’t have told her unless he wanted to be loyal and honest to her going forward. But frankly, he’d already had one argument ending in tears that week, and he didn’t want another.

And the way the Susie was talking, it sounded like he’d always just been a trophy boyfriend to her. Part of her high ambitions.

Did I just lose Jack for someone who sees me as a shallow fling? Can we build anything more than that now that I’ve gone and done this?

The two were quiet as Sammy walked her home, but Susie still kissed him goodbye at the door and gave him a smile.

Months wore on, and the two remained the IT couple of the music department. While Sammy liked to think he’d grown out of that high-schoolish nonsense, Susie loved it, and it was nice to have a partner he could openly be with. And they were having a good time together. Maybe he ought to be like her and enjoy this for whatever it was.

One day, tragedy struck. Susie had arrived to work a bit early that day, and in a good mood. She decided to take a look through a few other departments before showing up in the music room because, well, Alice was doing well enough that it wasn’t just affecting the music department.

Piles of Alice Merchandise was being made in Heavenly Toys- Susie nabbed a doll that didn’t meet standards from one of the toy makers. The promotional department was working on posters advertising an upcoming episode where Alice was a pilot- neat, Susie hoped it would have a musical number.

When Susie finally arrived at the music department, Sammy was there, talking with a woman Susie had never met before. She was tall, with glossy brown hair and a model-like face, and more importantly, she looked young. There weren’t enough young, befriendable women in the music department for Susie’s taste, so she headed right over to introduce herself, completely missing the pitying look on Sammy’s face.

“Hi! I haven’t seen you here before. What’s your name?”

“Allison Pendle. The new voice of Alice Angel. And you are?” Allison offered Susie her hand.

Susie’s smile changed to a look of confusion as she weakly accepted the handshake. “Uh... Susie Campbell. Voice of Alice Angel. There must be some mistake...”

Allison’s smile faded as well. “You didn’t get the memo? Sammy said you would have gotten the memo.”

“W-what memo?” It felt like everyone was looking at her knowingly.

Allison backed away to let Sammy explain it. “Joey replaced you, Susie,” he explained in as gentle a voice as he could muster. “You’re not fired. You’ll still be voicing background characters. I’m... I’m really sorry.”

It took Susie a few seconds to even register that. “Oh. Well, congratulations, Allison,” she said, trying to keep it together. With that, she walked away, trying to figure out someplace she could go and cry for a minute and pull herself together without being seen. She came upon an unused room, shut herself inside it, and crumpled to the floor in tears.

Susie knew that fame was delicate. But she hadn’t expected it all to end so soon. Who knew where her next big break would be? Or where? And she and Sammy would never be a team again.

Sammy... would Sammy even want her anymore? Now that she wasn’t useful to him anymore? They’d had a lot of fun together, but if he was willing to leave a partner of six years for the next big thing, well...what chance did she have? That Allison looked awfully pretty... And all this attention Susie had been getting- the praise from Joey, the popularity in the music department, the mentorship and the romance from Sammy Lawrence- it had all been though Alice. The thought of losing all of it, especially Sammy, made her sob. And she really needed to pull it together right now so she could get back out and work.

A knock sounded at the door, and it opened before Susie could say anything. It was Sammy. He pulled Susie up from the ground and into a tight hug.

“Are you gonna be mentoring Allison now?” Susie asked, her voice wet.

“No,” Sammy replied, still in that gentle voice. “She’s a Broadway actress. I probably couldn’t teach her very much.”

Susie gave him a sharp look intended to tell him that he decidedly should not have said that.

Sammy grit his teeth, seeming to realize his mistake. “Hey. Maybe I could talk to Joey about this. I’m kind of his golden boy, and this- this is just such a stupid decision! You made Alice the most popular character this studio’s ever seen! There must be some mistake.”

Susie sniffed. “Thank you.”

“Of course. Now, I’ll leave your lines for you in your locker. Come back when you’ve pulled together.”

As it turned out, Joey hadn’t made a mistake. Susie had been too good a fit. He didn’t want the studio to be known for Alice- he wanted it to be known for Bendy. And so, he was making some changes to Alice’s character. She wouldn’t be getting another musical number for quite some time. It wasn’t long before Alice’s popularity dropped as a result, and those piles and piles of Alice plushies had to be disposed of. Melted away to charred scraps.

This upset Sammy as well as Susie, and Susie could tell as much. He was in a bad mood, he was ignoring people. He was complaining about the studio more now that it felt like a dead end again. But if there was any silver lining to Susie losing her role, it was that it made Susie trust that Sammy wasn’t just there for her in fair weather. They even moved in with each other eventually, just because they were two compatible people who liked each other.

“You know,” Susie said one day, “I could start applying for roles elsewhere. I bet you could even end up working in the same place if you wanted- being that you have your awards and your experience and all.”

“You can if you want,” Sammy replied, “but I have other plans. Something I’m working on with Joey Drew. You’re going to be famous, Susie. We’re going to make sure of that.”

Susie knew better than to ask. Sammy was always very closed-mouthed about what and Joey did in their little business meetings. But she was excited that it had to do with her!

Meet Harry Fallon (Born on 1918)

He Was Part Of Hazel Fallon and Unknown Father, Before He Even was Born After Hazel Fallon Work on Red Cross Ambulance with Marcus and Walt Disney (Which I have future plans Next Week!), When His Biological Father Pass Away During Sick Days, So Hazel decided to take care of him after he was born, Marcus Came over at Hazel House, and they decide to get married and Moving to Los Angeles, That's Why Harry is become Loving with his Stepfather Marcus Bernal, His Future Goals want to soldier When he will Grow Up, By The Time He Grows up, He Married with Lillie (Harry Wife) during 1940 and Having 2 Boys Named Billy (Born 1941) and David (Born 1943), When He Joining WWII on 1941, He Actually survive here in Japan with Reo Hudson (Who is Cody Hudson Great Great Grandfather), Even He came back after the War End in 1945, He Focus with his Wife and 2 boys, And spending time with Sister Selena, Tim, Jessie and His parents during 1947.

Meet Selena Fallon (Born on 1920)

Selena Fallon Was Part of Hazel Fallon and Marcus Bernal, For The First Time She Was born, she was even saw Toons with Lenny The White Tiger (Which is Coming Soon) and Felix The Cat, she wants to be amazing artist cartoon when she will grow up in the future, By this time in 1923, on the Age 3, Marcus take to Works with Selena by Disney Studio, When she take look around of Alice Comedies Stuff, And Taught Drawing with Her Father, By the time in 1924, She was been Toon Friend with Baron Von Rotten, When she was only 4 years old, But everything Time For Selena Life, When She Got More All news friends during Late 1920s and 1930s, By the time when she was 19 in 1939, Baron decided to married with Selena, But She reject him after He murder with toons and start hate Toons, After this She went on dating with Mack Form during Ink and Paint Club, And decided to work at Maroon Studio, When Mack decided to married Selena, She Reject Him Again, And Finally, She Married with Teddy Valiant (With Connon and My OC), By this time in 1942, She has Twins Daughters Named Alexia and Ariana, but Then something was changed, After Teddy Valiant Death, Baron (Judge Doom) and Martha Form (When Mack Become Martha) decided to Kidnapped Selena and Teddy Twins Daughters, and Made Judge Doom To Push Selena By The Dip, She Went To a coma about 2 years, and Woke Up, She went back to Back to work, and Asked Eddie Valiant To Help find Alexia and Ariana, About 4/5 Years, The Girls has actually found with Keith and Dootie, And Martha, She got Brainwash by Judge Doom and Becoming Friends with Her to stop Making the Freeway from Toontown in 1946-47, Friends with Toontown Characters, And Rebooting On Lenny The White Tiger from his Redesign

Meet Timmy "Tim" Fallon (Born on 1939)

Tim Fallon was Part with Hazel Fallon and Marcus Bernal, When He about as a Baby back then after he was born, Baron Von Rotten (Judge Doom) decided to Kidnapped with Tim and made him drown, But then Hazel and Marcus Dog rescue him, But Doom was gone away after He Made Tim drown, By the time he was 5, He Listen some Baseball Radio, he was interested get into of Baseball, that's why he wants to be baseball player in the future, He Used to the Bat and Swing it with perfect home run, That's why he wanted to Do is planning to play Baseball!

Meet Jessie Fallon (Born on 1941)

Jessie Fallon was The Last Part Of Hazel Fallon and Marcus Bernal Children, That's Time After Selena Went On Coma, She Visit Her at the Hospital in 1942-44, When Selena wake up by the coma In 1944, Jessie Finally get to see Her Sister for the first time when was in Coma, By that time when she was 4, she was interested with comic books, When she using Harry Comic Book or Seeing The Boys In the Park and Schools, So That's why she got a Plan, she made her comic book her own and her very first comic Character named "Wonder Star" and Apollo Spring (Before Jessie Changed To Dream Universe and Universilia Spring, When she was future work at Marvel), That's why she wanted to be Comic Book Creator.

// Question for your Toontown AU: If characters are friends/allies in their shows, or are related, do they sometimes choose to maintain these relationships off-set? Ex. Ponyhead being friends with Star, Darkwing and Negaduck being dads, etc. I suppose in some cases it would be more likelier than others, depending on how the characters' personalities on-set matches how they are off-set and how easy it is to keep in touch with each other, especially if they've still got roles together.

I think it depends on the toon and WHY they were created for their media. I feel like Star and Pony may be friends after their show wrapped for awhile, but I can see them growing apart now that their show is over and contracts are done. Mostly because Star was written very differently in the last season ( THE SEASON WE DO NOT SPEAK OF ) and was shown to be annoyed/growing apart from Ponyhead in that last bullshit-everyone’s OOC season. Which to me, was one of the most OOC re-works of Star’s character, because her whole persona was: “never giving up on her friends, even when they had glaring faults.” It was both her strength AND weakness throughout the series. But anyway. My point is, I could see because Star was “reworked” in her last season to basically only like Marco and Eclipsa, and turn away from everyone else, she’d end up doing the same fade out with Pony a couple years after the show’s end. ( Right about now ) And since Pony’s writing NEVER changed, for her as toon to lose her other half, she could go through a toon-break down for not being still attached to her co-star. Because Ponyhead’s whole reason into creation was to be the Paris Hilton/Mona Lisa Saperstein best friend forever to Star, and that’s really all she was designed for. PS: I kinda touched on “toon break downs” in one of my Toon Town AU metas for my verse; IE: Lily and her fellow cast mates ( Cow Boys of Moo Mesa ) went through it, because they were cancelled out of nowhere when promised a third season, then erased from all media. Another example: I wager Bushroot may be wary of hanging out with the Drakes ( nega or DWD ) after work, because his role was to be beaten around by both. Even if “off the clock,” my Negs is STILL a reckless dick, he’s not going to kill you or go full villain out of his “contract.” The villain aspect in Toon Town AU is tricky because I state in my TT meta that they need healthy outlets for their villainy off the set, or they DO go bad on the general TT populous. I do think OFF-set Negs and Drake are civil and don’t hate each other on the same level they do in the show/comics, it’s probably more like an annoyance for each other’s differences, but they do “dad-talk” about their daughters, and even work on their fight choreography together. They also have 100% input on their shared stunts together, so you HAVE to be able to be civil and get along for that.

I maintain all the toons know each other or of each other, despite what show or genres they belong to. Some have cross contracts like my Darlene, who has worked for everyone from Hannah Barbara to Disney, as she’s always contracted as a resident “monsta’ lady.” So a Shaggy or Space Ghost may know Darlene from the old days when she did monster roles as spooks or aliens. Does she positively mingle with Stan & the kids still? Probably??? I also think they can all work on cross-studio projects together IF their owners/studio people give them “free range” rights. Like Kim’s trying desperately to be more than a stunt coordinator/double for Marvel and DC, but everyone still typecasts her as a high school hero-girl for an all-ages comedy.

As for the other types of toons? There’s an Anime borough, an Adult (humor/action) toon borough--( Seth McF.arl.and toons, Futurama, KotH, SP, BB, R&M etc. etc. ). So interaction between EVERYONE can happen after a show wraps or is on hiatus, etc.

EVERYONE can date, befriend, or otherwise be neighbors to ex-co stars or toons from other lots. No big deal. For my Toon Town verse, 50 years ago a Warner Brothers toon and Disney toon would NEVER date or be best friends with each other, because of the notorious “rivalry” between their studios. Now? It’s not a big deal. The old timer toons may be irked by it, but everyone’s chilled out a lot since the 90′s.

I headcanon that in my Toon Town verse, the Anima/Manga types are not as accepting as other toon types, but that doesn’t mean they WON’T interact. It has to do with their “owners” and studios being very differently operated and written. So interaction with an anime/manga toon with anyone else is gonna take some coaxing/effort. They’re basically cautious snobs.

As for the Adult/Older toons, they are wary of interacting with toons that come from more innocent franchises. Francine may be dying to meet a Disney or Nick toon, but maybe a fellow America Dad or Futurama toon makes fun of her for it.
