{Venom in Words & Bottles}

“Pardon gent, haven’t seen ya round before.” Jamie growled, gripping tightly onto the tall blade’s white coat. Jamie had been stand in as the bouncer of the Moonshine Mob’s saloon, seeing as they’re usual anteater had a “definitely strictly professional meeting” with the boss.

The tall knife man yanked his arm away, the woman beside him rolling her dark eyes behind him.

“I have the right to go as I please boy. I will not be so insulted by a child.” He yelled, far louder than Jamie thought necessary. Jamie sighed, wouldn’t they just be fun?

“First of all- I’m nineteen so shut the hell up- second, members only buddy. Boss’s orders, not mine.” He smirked, he, truth be told, was ready to just call his mum on down, as she tended to strike in more fear then he or his pops ever could.

But they happened to catch his attention.

The woman, who had been maticulously wiping off dust from her bright white coat, chimed in, and lord.. Jamie did not like that look in her eyes. That look reminded Jamie of a siren, trying to lure in their prey with a fake sense of kindness.

“My dear, you don’t understand! Our son is missing! We heard reports from our beloved friends that they had spot him around this.. fine.. establishment..” it looked like it pained her to compliment the joint.

“Please, my boy, you must help me find my son!” This lady was way overselling her “distress”..

Jamie pinched the brim of his nose.

“Miss. I’ve kept track of everyone who comes in an’ out. We don’t have any kids here. Period. But just.. look. Tell me his name, give me you’re number, I’ll ring ya folks up should I spot him.” Jamie really just wanted to get rid of them..

“Knifekid Scal.”

…

Jamie’s blood went cold.

Oh.

Oh!

So these were the infamous Scal parents. Jamie clutched the paper he’d taken out to write with in a tight squeeze. He knew all about them. They were after his little brother.

With every fiber of his being, Jamie resisted the nagging spider like urge to chomp down upon his new found prey, and instead, threw on a Cheshire like grin.

“Ya know what? How bouts I get you two poor folks a drink for the road? It’s on me.” The two lousy excuses for doctors began to back away.

“We really shouldn’t-“ the man started but Jamie grabbed both of their arms, two of his own on each.

“Oh no! Truly! I insist!” He cheered, hardly hiding the snarl in his tone. Seeing no way away from the abnormally strong insect, the Scals obliged.

Taking their seats and the bar stools, ordering bourbon, the couple began to whisper quiet small talk to each other. Jamie could hear every critique they held towards the joint and it’s patrons loud and clear. But that hardly mattered. What did matter was keeping them away from Knifekid.

Seeing they’d lost focus, Jamie tapped the bartender on the shoulder, he was a jolly unassuming firefly, and Jamie slipped him a small vile he’d dug out of his pocket. After the firefly raisied a brow, Jamie gestured with his antenna towards the unsuspecting knives. The bartender quickly got the idea. When gesturing between the two as if to ask “Which one?” Jamie spun his finger around. Spin the platter. Leave it up to chance. The firefly poured them all their drinks (Jamie got a soda for himself; his mum would have his head if she’d ever known he’d drank..)

Jamie watched the two for any signs of revulsion as they drank. Mrs. Scal took mild sips, as if to preserve her image as a proper lady, while Mr. Scal had cleared the whole class in seconds.

The vile held spider venom. Jamie always carried some around to drop onto his own fangs, as unlike his father, his bites weren’t naturally venomous.

The poison couldn’t kick in fast enough.

Mr. Scal began to cough. At first, it was only every few minutes. But then he began to violently convulse.

“George? George what’s going on?” Mrs. Scal asked, seeming unease at the sudden attention her husbands fit had brought towards them from other patrons.

Mr. Scal gripped his stomach and his mouth. Seemingly falling right out of his seat as he shook violently.

“G-George!? George can you hear me what are you doing?!” Mrs. Scal yelled, as if in someway to save her crumbling image.

Jamie took one last sip of his soda and slipped away, whenever he was sure Mrs. Scal no longer even acknowledged him. But not before looking back as he saw the man who’d hurt his brother so much, begin to strangle on his own breathe, frantically trying to stop the impeding fate he had in store for him.

Jamie smirked. Some men just can’t handle their alcohol.

It is NOT my fault that I see a group of bug characters (especially a bunch of bastards) and latch onto them on impact

As for canon names, I don't believe so! They're just called things like Spider Mobster, Light Bug and Announcer Snail as descriptors - there's no official names for any of em (yet, anyway) A lot of people have come up with headcanon names, though! Have I? Nnnot yet sdhgKHJ
