When Draco Malfoy is hand picked to investigate a string of curses cropping up in Muggle communities in North America, the last person he wanted to be traveling with was Harry Potter. Still, duty calls, and the two set off on an adventure chasing down mysterious curses, sleeping in cramped hotel rooms, and trying to navigate their newly formed post-War selves as they make their way through small towns and long, dark stretches of highway.

In 2017, Harry is on his way to Pansy and Luna's beach house. He’s a bit terrified of seeing Draco, to be honest. It’s been a while, and then there’s the little matter of Draco having married someone else in the interim.
In 2001, Draco is drunk, wearing Pansy's mother's ermine coat, and afraid to walk into the Leaky because someone might throw a curse at him. So, of course, he runs into his ex-nemesis and hopeless crush, Harry Potter.
This is a love story that isn't perfect, about two people whose timing is never quite right, and all the moments that come together to make something extraordinarily beautiful anyway.

Voldemort gets the Philosopher's Stone, but finds himself trapped at Hogwarts and in need of rescue. Loyal Death Eater Severus Snape is on the job, but even he is not quite prepared for Lord Voldemort to return as Tom Riddle with a patched-up soul and no interest in war.
And as for Tom? Well, it's not so easy to stop being a domestic terrorist.

voldemort who continues working at borgin and burke’s until he’s, like, 80, ended up buying the store, refurbishing it and setting it up to be much more grandiose and started selling magical jewellery.
harry happens to be a regular customer who buys grand items for his friends. one day, harry comes in to buy some expensive jewellery for ginny for their wedding, he tells voldemort.
voldemort pauses. he decides harry is pretty enough, sells him a cursed necklace that ends up killing ginny a day after wedding, “helps” harry grieve his loss, so that no one else suspects it’s harry who killed ginny, and then literally kidnaps him and disappears a week later.

“Harry,” It slips out more breathlessly than Voldemort would have liked, but he just can’t seem to catch himself.
Harry Potter is a vision in dark green robes like wet spring leaves and river moss. He stands beyond Voldemort’s desk in front of the expansive rear window. A summer breeze catches their sheer curtain panels, and they blur him from view momentarily. It feels much longer.
“You have a nice office; cosy. It’s not really a word I would use to describe y-,” Harry turns around to face Voldemort and stutters. His eyes widen, and he continues, “-you look different.”
And Voldemort does, he knows, look different. It had been tedious and risky, a ritual yielding the potential to do more harm than good with the magic of anyone lesser. But he is Lord Voldemort, and he does not fail.
His eyes catch that red scar marring Harry Potter’s forehead, irritated and painful-looking nearly constantly.
Anymore, the thought swells in his mind and cements itself. Lord Voldemort does not fail anymore; he amends.

I wanted to put together a rec list of Harry/Tom fics with a core focus on horcruxes outside of Diary Tom (the most popular horcrux) and Voldemort himself. Please enjoy these 22 fics that feature one of Tom's horcruxes and their special relationship with Harry.
There’s a ton of interesting variation that can be explored within a Harry and horcrux Tom ship — from where the horcruxes are located and when Harry can conceivably meet them in canon (for example, the Cup horcrux is harder to access than the others); to what age they were made by Voldemort and how that would shape their personalities and interactions with Harry; to the different magical properties that they might embody, depending on the vessel that was chosen.

The cost of making a horcrux was steep and when Voldemort manages to kill Harry, destroying the horcrux within, Harry finds out the exact price of losing a piece of your soul. It made a cruel joke that if Voldemort loved his horcruxes, Harry should love them too.
