If there was one thing Tom Riddle knew, it was the mind—a fascinating thing that not even the best of wizards could fully understand throughout the ages. It was, in its own way, beautiful. From an early age, he knew he had a gift, and it wasn't until Hogwarts that he realized the extent of it. From the countless books he read on the subject, the ability to read one's mind came naturally to him. And it had come to be useful in his endeavors, especially when it came to you.
You—his dearest—and while Tom long since accepted he would never be capable of love, what he felt for you was close enough for him. He guessed most would say what he felt for you was obsession, a type of twisted love that consumed his whole being until there was nothing left but the thought of your, soft, fleeting touch on his skin.
"Dearest, we've talked about this," he watched in disinterest as you paced around the room, all pent up from a comment made earlier by one of your pathetic friends. Your thoughts were loud, practically screaming into his mind.
"But Tiffany has a point, Tom. You're controlling."
You paused and stared at him, thrusting out your arms and waving them dramatically to accentuate your point, to which he scoffed and rolled his eyes.
Tom rose from his chair and stalked towards you, and your instincts screamed at you to cower away from him. Putting on a brave face, you stood your ground, and tilted your head up—he was way too tall.
You were determined today, huh? Two can play at that game.
"I'm not controlling, dearest. I just don't want you to get hurt by anyone, whether it be emotional or physical. I get worried."
Your thoughts echoed throughout his mind, telling him how easily you were to believe his words. It was cute how open your mind was to his manipulation, like a lamb being unknowingly led to its slaughter. "I- I know but it gets suffocating having to deal with you whenever I want to go out."
He placed his hands on both of your shoulders, and sighed when he watched you flinch. You were always so reactant to his touch. Your voice had gotten weaker, and your gaze fell to the floor. Intimidation had always been a strong suit of his. "Now I'm going to need you to listen to me very carefully, dearest." He leaned down, and pressed a feather light kiss to the shell or your ear before whispering.

The namefags are based conceptually on the Death Eaters, and roughly correspond to them.
Peepsies is the only character who was based on a specific canon Death Eater. His name will be revealed in the last chapter.
It seemed fitting to us that he should have his creepy dude bro friends. Tom Riddle—canonically—is big on fraternity. At every phase of his life, he surrounds himself with unhinged men whom he regards as his "real family." Just one of his many quirks. 💀🐍

I don't have a lot of WIPs I usually either obsessively blow through something in one sitting or scrap it cause I don't know how to come back to things 💀💀 but I did find a wip for a later chapter of Snakes, Tom Riddle, and Other Untrustworthy Things in my docs 👌

It struck Harry the moment he’d walked into their room that he had never seen Tom sick in the four years he’d known him. The sickly pale shade of his skin and the hand he had at his stomach, tightly curled into the fabric of his shirt, was an immediate shock to Harry’s system. His frozen stupor wasn’t broken until Tom’s eyes screwed shut and he watched as his whole body keeled forward into a crumpled heap on the floor.
Harry didn’t notice his feet start to move, but he did notice his knees hitting the hardwood floor and how he was suddenly beside Tom’s shaking body. Never mind never having seen Tom sick before, Harry had never seen anyone this sick before. Tom’s face was pulled into a tightly pained expression that looked completely foreign on him, and his hands clawed at nothing on the ground, knuckles white and nearly vibrating with tension.
Harry reached out a hand instinctively, but his sleeve was almost immediately grabbed by one of Tom’s hands. It looked like it took effort to peel his eyes open, and his eyelids were still half lidded at best, but he sluggishly met Harry’s own with a steely look. When he parted his chapped lips at first all that came out were a few ragged breaths, but he forced his words out between them.
“What did you put in them?” Even in his weak, pained state Tom’s eyes held a dangerously cold glint to them.
“Put in what?” Harry asked, eyebrows furrowing in confusion and worry. Tom grimaced and snapped his eyes shut, taking in a long, shaky breath through his nose.
“The chocolates.”
Harry barely caught the words; They had hardly made it past Tom’s lips before twisting into a pained sound.
Tom curled in on himself, but the fist that clutched at Harry’s sleeve didn’t leave, only tightened and shook like the rest of his body did. Harry had never heard Tom make anything close to the strained whimpers that escaped him now. He found his hand reaching out to push Tom’s disheveled hair away from his sweating skin, as if running his fingers through the boy’s hair was the only thing he could think to do in this situation. Tom made no sign of noticing.
Harry should find help. He should get a teacher, or Madam Pomfrey. It wasn’t normal to be this ill, something had to be horribly wrong.
But the pitiful state that Tom was in made it hard for him to leave. The sounds he made were equal parts scared as they were pained, and the scrunched up ball he had turned himself into made such a weak and small figure. Harry felt as if it would be a betrayal of trust to leave him alone in such a defenseless state, and worry tugged at him from every direction.
“Tom,” Harry tried to keep his voice level, but some of his nerves shook his tone. “I’m going to try to help you to the Hospital Wing, do you think you can stand with some help?”
A groan was the only answer he got, and Harry found himself feeling sick at the stark white Tom’s complexion had become during his time on the floor. Harry gathered his determination and steeled his nerves. This wasn’t time for him to panic.
It was difficult to do with Tom’s tightly curled position, but Harry was able to fit his arms around his torso and heave him into a sitting position, however hunched and wobbling it was. Tom’s hand on Harry’s sleeve let go of the cloth it had bunched in its fingers and raced to protectively curl around Tom’s stomach as he let out a sharp gasp.
Tom folded in half and choked.
And choked, and choked, and all Harry could see was crimson red and all he could hear was struggled heaving.
When the chokes turned into gasps for air and Tom started to fall like his limbs were lead, Harry shot out and pulled him into his side. The blood that coated Tom’s chin and lips stained Harry’s shoulder, but Harry was more focused on the dark red puddle that was seeping into the wood in front of them. His breath sped up with terrified anxiety and he was alarmingly aware of the heavy, motionless weight that rested against him.
