Colleen B. MacFarlane(Goodreads Author),
Bruce A. MacFarlane
George Haloulakos's review
Sep 08, 2023
it was amazing
Colleen MacFarlane's "Ivy's Epilepsy" is a profoundly relatable, inspiring book full of practical measures and interactive lessons to help parents and children manage, control and/or overcome epilepsy. The heartfelt themes of kindness, goodness and understanding are reflected in the text, illustrations, puzzles, how to keep a diary and other related activities. For example, the illustration on page 63 of the paperback edition shows Ivy accompanied by her mother and alert dog explaining epilepsy to Ivy's classmates. This single page affirms the importance of good parenting, supportive friendship and the love of (and from) a precious pet to help lead an inspired life while dealing with a health related challenge. "Ivy's Epilepsy" is an informative, educational reminder that how we face the challenges of youth while in the classroom and playground will have enormous impact on our lives for years to come. being jealous! not to the point of it being unhealthy, just a moderate amount of cute jealously, in which their partner just laughs it off and gives them a kiss
-
All the rookies were in love with you. It was a fact you knew, and one that Jamie knew all too well. He’d more than once walked into the locker room when conversations seemingly cut off with no notice, and he definitely noticed the way their boyish eyes were always on you.
It was endearing from your perspective, it really was. They were cute and charming and always fumbling over their words when they talked to you, and a little extra attention never hurt anyone. Not when you knew you’d only ever love Jamie.
Jamie thought it was cute at the beginning. He loved showing you off and flexing to the young guys that you were his. It was all in good fun. Then it got a little irritating.
Jamie thought they were just puppy love crushes that’d pass when the next girl to look their way came by, but that wasn’t what happened. Almost a year after they first met you and after they were no longer the “rookies” anymore, a couple of them still harbored feelings for you.
He could see it in the way you stood in the kitchen preparing yourself a mixed lemonade while keeping casual conversation with Connor, the fresh-faced twenty year old who racked up a few points last season.
Jamie was across the living room, eyes flickering back between the game on the TV and Connor’s lingering gaze on your collarbones. He couldn’t tell what Connor was saying to you, but you were laughing heartily at something, and Connor’s eyes lit up like he’d just won the lottery.
The conversation lasted a few more seconds before you excused yourself to rejoin Jamie on the loveseat, and he wasted no time before tugging you to sit on his lap.
“Oh shit, I forgot your beer,” you said the second you were seated, hand holding your cup of vodka lemonade but the other missing the Busch Jamie requested.
“That’s okay, babe, I can get it,” he brushed it off, sliding himself out from under you to make his way to the kitchen.
He found Connor still there, mixing one of his own drinks. Connor hadn’t noticed Jamie’s arrival and was in the process of stealing a few more glances at you on the couch when he felt the hard slap of Jamie’s hand on his back that soon shifted in a too-tight squeeze of his shoulder.
“Eyes up, rookie,” Jamie said with a wide, friendly grin that held a threat beneath it. “What are you doing alone here? I thought all the guys were out back playing a game of soccer?”
Connor flushed instantly knowing he’d been caught, and he quickly finished topping off his drink with Sprite. “Y—Yeah, I was just making myself a drink,” he sputtered.
“Last time I checked, this drink had only two ingredients and didn’t take ten minutes to make,” Jamie smiled.
“Right, well, I’m all good now,” Connor said sheepishly, “I’m going to go join the guys out back.”
“Yeah, you do that,” Jamie agreed and reached across the counter to grab himself a Busch bottle. Connor nodded and retreated out of the kitchen and out of the back door without sparing you another glance.
Jamie rejoined you on the couch, lifting you to place you on his lap again and took a long swig of the beer. You rolled your eyes.
“Oh, calm down. It’s just a little harmless flirting,” you teased, wrapping an arm around his broad shoulders. “You don’t need to scare the boy.”
“I didn’t even say anything,” he shrugged, but you knew he was lying. “If you want someone to flirt with you, I’m right here, you know.”
“Yeah, but it’s nice to hear compliments every now and then. You haven’t even commented on how good I look today,” you joked. You meant it harmlessly, and Jamie knew it too. He may not have told you how good you looked in your new sundress, but you were definitely late to the party because Jamie couldn’t keep his hands off of you when you were getting ready.
“Oh?” He challenged you with a raise of his brows. “Is that how you wanna play it?”
“Hmm,” you contemplated. “Maybe later. I wanna see the end of this game.” You knew if you said the word, Jamie would gladly excuse the two of you from the party, but you weren’t done having fun. Jamie, on the other hand, couldn’t care less about who won this stupid football game, but he amused you anyway.
“I love you,” you said quietly, placing a swift kiss on Jamie’s cheek. “Now stop scaring the rookies.”
“I don’t think I’ll need to anymore after today,” he replied, turning his face so he could kiss you properly. You hit him lightly on the chest in reprimand. “Sorry, babe, I’m the only one who gets to ogle you.”
“As long as the same applies for you,” you pushed back.
“Always. I’m all yours,” he smiled, giving you one last peck.

im on my big rig bullshit and i cant stop thinking about him fucking me for the first time. like being worried about him not fitting and stretching me out for to the max 🥵
ok well it's been established he has a size kink no I will not be taking any criticism on this
(smut under the cut)
ok so like you're not a virgin
but you've also never been with someone as large as he is
and you know that his dick is proportional to his body they call him big rig for a reason
you've done other things with him that didn't include sex and it was already difficult enough to try and deepthroat him
so you ultimately knew what you were getting into
when the time finally comes, you're so worried he won't fit (which he finds hilarious but also he knows it'll be a tight fit)
the idea of him being too big for you and absolutely filling you to the brim with his cock is so hot to him and he may or may not have gotten himself off to that thought
it takes a lot of foreplay. like he's not one to skimp on foreplay to begin with, but he needs to work you out to the max before he fucks you for the first time
like he spends an hour between your legs and brings you to orgasm twice
when he finally enters you, it's hella slow like you can only take a few inches at a time before he has to stop and wait it takes awhile before he's fully seated in you
and it is a pretty tight fit you're so unbelievably tight around him he could probably come from just being inside you
first time is very slow and he takes his time stretching you out and getting you accustomed to his size
"holy shit, babe, you're so fucking tight"
like fully stuffed of him
he gets off on the idea of being too big for you
and it's slow the first couple times anyway before he can actually start railing you (which he eventually does)

Perfect Imperfections
byTaryn Leigh(Goodreads Author)
Sarah Lewis desires nothing more than to begin again after a failed marriage and a tragedy so terrifying, it forces her to leave her life in London to stay with her best friend a world apart in South Africa. Despite immediate success in her business, she struggles to understand who she really is and where she belongs in the world. So begins a journey of discovery as Sarah re-unites with Katy in the land where she was born, where the air is lavender scented, and weekends are spent cycling on the beach. Until the day when she has to return to London to face the ghosts of her past and confront a situation that has grown more complicated in her absence. Perfect Imperfections is an intriguing tale which hints at wrongdoings and deceit without giving too much away. The author cleverly weaves a tale around fragile yet strong Sarah as she tries to reconcile her past with her future, engaging the reader to the point where we simply want the best for her and for happiness finally to come her way.(less)

MY REVIEW OF “PERFECT IMPERFECTIONS” by TARYN LEIGH
I appreciate the way Taryn Leigh, author  of “Perfect Imperfections” weaves the details of her story. The timeline of this story is mostly in the present with a few past references that pertain to the characters or the storyline. The genres of this story are Fiction or Women’s Fiction.
The author describes her characters as complex and complicated. Some characters are mean-spirited. Other characters are capable of betrayal and deceitful acts. There are characters that are supportive and kind as well. Sarah Lewis leaves her home in London, after a major tragedy and betrayal, and goes to restart her life in South Africa.  She stays at her best friend’s home while she struggles emotionally to put her life together, as well as her business obligations.
Taryn Leigh does a fantastic job in keeping the reader in suspense about  what the tragedy and betrayals are. We know that Sarah is keeping secrets from her best friend and brother, who only want to help her. Sarah is emotionally fragile and is having nightmares. She starts to put her business together, and then is called back to London for a family emergency. Sarah finally realizes that she has to go back to the past in order to move on to the present and future.
I really like the way that the author shows us that through adversity there is hope. The author describes having a support system, family, friends and love. The author also shows us good vs. evil,  loyalty vs. betrayal, forgiveness and redemption vs.  holding grudges and retribution.  Taryn Leigh shows us the growth in the characters.
I would recommend this intriguing and emotionally captivating story for readers who enjoy fiction. I look forward to seeing more of these characters, and I do hope that the  author writes more about them. I received a copy of this book for my honest review.
