So I saw your post on trying to figure out who’s behind Chimney in the promo, and I gotta mention one thing that’s bothering me and would love your commentary.
So in season 5, episode 4 (I believe?) after Maddie runs away and Chimney is freaking out, and when Buck comes to check in on him, Buck essentially says that no one is making Maddie do anything.
Chimney ends up bringing up Doug. Saying, specifically, “Doug did.”
Buck then says that Doug is dead, and chimney says:
“Is he, though? I mean, did you see a body? Did anyone see a body?”
That line has been bothering me SENSE.
Thoughts?? Or am I just looking too much into things?
Thank you @travelandwriting for the ask.
This answer is in response to this post.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
You posed a good question from 5x4 that was brought up during Chimney's conversation with Buck about Maddie's deceased husband, Doug Kendall. I just watched the 2x13 scene of Maddie killing him again to be sure and since the coroner put him in a body bag, it appears he did die after she stabbed him multiple times. Also, she got the insurance money from his death in season 3 when his estate was settled.
Tumblr media
If by some chance, he woke up and he's not dead, then the question is, where has he been all this time? Was he recovering in a bunker somewhere?
Now, there's a small possibility (like a .00001% chance) that he woke up (Maddie stabbed him in the shoulder and in the back) while his body was being transported. The fact is there was a HELICOPTER on the scene too and Athena was talking to them on her radio and the aerial view of the scene is below.
Tumblr media
Reminder, T.K. was already gone from the 118 so the speculation that follows may not be too farfetched.
If he was flying it and he air lifted Doug out but he woke up during the transport; maybe Doug paid him to keep quiet about him being alive. Also, Doug was a surgeon which means he would know how to fix his own wounds so there's that.
Tumblr media
If any of this speculation is true and Doug did wake up, it makes sense why T.K. would want to get next to Buck so Doug could find out where the bachelor party would be so he could finish the job. He stalked Maddie for months starting in 2x10 while he pretended to be Chimney's friend before he stabbed him in 2x12.
Full disclosure: with all the continuity issues in seasons 5 and 6, I'm not sure 9-1-1 would be this detailed but it's not a long shot since TM is back.
Unless they show more scenes in the upcoming trailers, we'll have to wait until Thursday to see who that person standing behind Chimney is.
Thanks again for the ask and have a great day.

dean: does she seriously believe that she was... touched by an angel?
sam: she’s the second in town to murder because an angel told them to. little bit odd, don’t you think?
dean: odd? yeah. supernatural? maybe. but angels... i don’t think so.
sam: why not?
dean: ‘cause there’s no such thing, sam. there’s some legends that you just file under “bull crap.”
sam: and you file angels under the “bull crap” list? why?
dean: because i’ve never seen one. i believe in what i can see. in all this time, i have never seen anything that looks like an angel.
imagine going from not believing in something to finding faith, free will, and family in it. oh baby... you’ve got a big storm coming.

I love Alex and want him to exist outside of Malex obviously, but I really hated to have an episode where I honestly couldn't tell if Michael crossed his mind at all. Even in s1, when he wasn't ready to be with him, we were constantly getting reminders that Alex loves Michael and that his actions are heavily influenced by those feelings. I know there were quite a few episodes like this in s2 with Malex in a bubble and us not knowing if Michael ever thought of Alex at all, but it's the last thing I want this season. Discussing joining Deep Sky and Max dying with Kyle felt incomplete without addressing the Michael of it all. Of course all of Alex's decisions shouldn't revolve around Michael, but Malex have had a major impact on each other's lives, and I am tired of seeing that constantly downplayed for at least one of them.
Uuuuuugh, the fact that Alex was constantly talking about Michael, by name, not just "Guerin" and defending him to other people even when he wasn't around vs....whatever the hell that was in 3x01. I'm going to nab the conclusion that is just sitting right there and put that on c*rina writing this episode because, just like with f*rlex, it's supposed to be a flipped script from season 2 and m*luca in order to drag out more relationship drama and keep Malex apart. I'm really hoping with her gone, that will change in future episodes. I am Tired(TM) of Malex existing in a bubble and hopefully this season we will get everyone else not just possibly "knowing" they used to be a "thing" but acknowledging exactly how important Alex and Michael are to each other. Like, Max and Liz never kissed or even dated and didn't speak at all for ten years and everyone is going on and on and how much Max loves Liz and can't move on, but even after finding out that Michael was Alex's museum guy, Liz and m*ria brushed their connection and relationship aside like it was nothing despite the fact that they have kept up with each other all this time ("in all our years of doing this") and were together before Alex left. Isobel pushes the m*luca thing so hard that her moment in 2x13 during the song felt totally unearned because she never once ask Michael about Alex or how he was doing or if maybe he was throwing himself into something unhealthy to avoid dealing with Max and his mom dying and what he found out about Sanders and everything he went through all last season. No one brings up Alex except to throw it in Michael's face and I am soooooo ready to be done with that shit.
Sorry, season 2 still makes me want to throttle someone. ANYWAY, I am very excited to see the journey Alex is going to go on this season because I feel like we are going to get more background on his military history and stuff! And I think we'll get to see him thinking about Michael as he does things or makes choices without them entirely about Michael if that makes sense.

Gideon
Yesss!! Thank you!!
general opinion: fall in a hole and die | don’t like them | eh | they’re fine I guess | like them! | love them | actual love of my life hotness level: get away from me | meh | neutral | theoretically hot but not my type | pretty hot | gorgeous! | 10/10 would banghogwarts house: gryffindor | slytherin | ravenclaw | hufflepuff (please note that I can see a very good argument for hufflepuff because she is always loyal to Rip but in this case I’m going with she’s also a supercomputer and the smartest of the Legends and also she loves to learn (in my hc))best quality: Her loyalty. She disobeyed the TMs (the people who basically created/programmed her) and ran off with Rip Hunter. And she’s loyal to him throughout it all, but at the same time she stands her ground.worst quality: Not so much a bad quality but I think she sometimes feels as though she’s not enough because she’s not human. My mind always gets stuck on ‘not, in this form and unless you leave you won’t exist either, not in any way that matters’ that she says to Rip in 2x13 and it just strikes me as her thinking she doesn’t matter because she has no physical form and it just makes me so sad!ship them with: Rip Hunter-TIMESHIP FOR LIFE!! Ahem...brotp them with: Jax and Rayneeds to stay away from: Thawne. I don’t know if she is the same Gideon as he used in Flash, but all the same I wouldn’t want Thawne to use her against her Captain, same with the Time Mastersmisc. thoughts: I would absolutely love if they somehow found some way to give Gideon a physical form in the future. Just in general, the team needs more female representation but at the same time it would be such an interesting plot to see an AI turned human. I’m still hoping for this so hard, sometimes I forget that it’s not canon...
Thanks for sending this! Send me a character for my opinion on them!

Lisbon in s2e13, Redline
Alrighty so there's a few things happening here that are. Very good.
Walter Mashburn takes one look at her in the Essential Lisbon Outfit (black blazer and dark red top) and decides he must have her. Partly because he knows she is unattainable and he likes the chase. I get it, Mashburn.
Next, she shows up in a Jane Outfit: light blue button down and navy blazer. Mashburn is persistently pursuing her, and she is not having it. What on earth could wearing an identical version of your (work) partner's outfit possibly mean? Sorry, back off, we're already a matched pair?
Lastly, this is purely about the visuals of the outfit. I like the corduroy blazer, mid-rise wideleg jeans, and brown belt. The blazer is such a great color that brings out the subtle shades of her hair and eyes, and the belt has that worn look like it's a favorite. She wore a lower cut of jeans all throughout season 1, and I like seeing her mix it up. I think they elongate her legs and make her look a little taller.

Jane in s2e13, Redline
Okay so it's quite interesting to me that Jane randomly forgoes his vest in this episode for the first time (excluding a total outfit change like black tie, prison jumpsuit, etc). What on earth does this mean? Is an oversight? Is it significant? He's back in the vest the next day, so why does he go without it in the first third of the episode?
I don't fucking know an answer, so I'm just going to throw out some random conjecture. Typically a three-piece suit is worn with a tie, and his choice to wear the vest sans tie is his little rule-breaker tendencies coming out. Could donning a more conventional ensemble of jacket, shirt, and trousers be a way for him to conform to the rules for once? If so, why would he do this?
This episode introduces Walter Mashburn, who arguably represents what Jane could have been if he kept being a fake psychic and pursued fame and wealth. Fugue in Red kind of confirms this for us in season 4. Walter is womanizing, cocky, fast and loose with his money and likes a thrill. He has an anti-authoritarian streak to some degree. Jane might have been all these things if not for his great tragedy; now Walter is the kind of man Jane usually likes to undermine.
Could this wardrobe choice be attempting to distance Jane even further from his glamorous, materialist past? Or, by giving Jane a slightly more conventional look, is he subtly set parallel to Walter and his ilk? The outside looks the same but what really sets them apart is what has occurred inside. Walter will never understand the profound grief that Jane masks with his cavalier behavior and easy smile.
I seriously have no idea. He's back to his oft-seen grey suit and vest by the time he actually meets up with Mashburn, so there's never any actual visual contrast between the two. I do think it's interesting, however, that Jane isn't wearing the vest when he tries to get Lisbon to open up about her problems, but after Walter asks her out, he's back to the vest like he's protecting his heart. Hmmm. Make of that what you will.
