I just watched this movie for the first time and it wasn’t as bad as I thought it was going to be. Preed is a sleazy character, voiced by Nathan Lane, of all people, but he’s doing a more refined, self-important voice than what you’d usually expect. I think he’s supposed to be a bat-themed alien, but if you just look at his skull it’s like someone put one of the Land Before Time dinosaurs in an evil anthro blender. This is somebody’s type, I’m sure of it.
The frustrating thing about this film is that it’s written around an intelligent, high-concept idea, and it has great character animation throughout - my problem is it’s kind of boring and a bit ugly. The CGI hasn’t aged well. Still, Preed was enough of a standout that I wanted to showcase him here. Why is that last shot so dynamic??
My first sci-fi, and I love it still. Great creature design, fun plot, and Don Bluth always hits
It starts with the trial destruction of Earth and a diaspora of the remaining human species being cast across the stars. Years later an orphan is approached by a mysterious friend of his father's claiming to have knowledge of how to create a new human home world, Planet Bob!
Ico, the Brave Horse
Really love this movie because i used to watch it on a dvd when i was really little. That dvd had 4 movies in spanish, "Manuelita", "Ico el caballito valiente", "Patoruzito" and "Trapito". My favorite by far was Manuelita, but im submitting ico because it's such a beautiful movie! The song at the start might point its a sad movie, but its not. Its very funny and also very wholesome <3
Also, all of those movies i mentioned are only available in spanish, but i found ico el caballito valiente with english subtitles on youtube.
Goofing around in Clip Studio Paint again. I could say this is a deeply thought-out reference to how in Titan AE Gune repeatedly grumbles about being stuck on the ship and never gets more than a few feet away from it in the whole movie...but we all know I just wanted to put him in this outfit. XD
literally No One cares cause like no one else remembers this movie but Good God i wish titan a.e. had been more about character development and arcs rather than just. looking pretty. like don't get me wrong, it Is a pretty movie and i Do like it. but also.
there was so much they could've done even in the limited movie time frame and they just. didn't! literally no thought to korso selling out the human race specifically because he's depressed and genuinely feels like there's no hope. barely redeeming him at the end but not even exploring How he got to that point - how cale gave him hope again, how he saw a genuine future he believed in because he believed in cale! it's just a little bit hinted at but not at all given the attention it deserves.
and then of course, cale himself!!! the two of them literally go through the same journey of feeling like there's no more hope for humans but learning through their connections with others that there is. and we get to see that with cale!!! it makes sense, he's the main character and all, but if we can see that with him, why not with korso?
i just,,, ough,,,, this movie had such great potential but they focused so much on the art and graphics and effects and like Yes it's all very pretty but the characters,,, the characters!!!!
You know what I want but will never get?
Titan A.E. Prequels about Sam Tucker and his crew, the lead up to the destruction of Earth, the flight from earth with whoever Sam Tucker was talking to when he said "Bring me Down" and who must have died on the Titan with him all those long years ago.
I love you early 2000′s film that lost Fox $100 mil I could fix you
ID: An illustration of Akima and Cale from Titan A.E., formatted to look like the cover of a 90′s sci-fi novel. The entire piece is in shades of yellow, orange, and navy blue. The pair are crammed into the cabin of a spaceship, Akima at the wheel and Cale gripping onto the walls for support as the ship hurtles through space. Akima is smiling wildly, loving the adrenaline rush. Cale’s mouth is open in a scream, beads of sweat rolling off his face. A caption at the top of the piece reads: “Randall McCormick & Hans Baur.” The title at the bottom reads “TITAN A.E,” a subtitle below it reading “Get ready for the human race.” End ID.
