@tinydancer-39 Not to worry! The experiments were only done on the quills themselves and not on any living hedgehog. (They were taken from an already deceased hedgehog that they did not kill.) I would not have posted that if any animals were getting hurt. I love hedgehogs, and would not post anything regarding animal cruelty.

The musical adaptation of Cameron Crowe’s film #AlmostFamous opened on #broadway last night. I was super excited going into this show based on the strength of four songs released on the EP and my fondness for the film. Unfortunately, the songs played better at home and the film was better.
In short, it’s a muddled mess and never affecting. Few things are less satisfying as watching a show and never caring about the characters or the stakes.
Nothing about this show informs me why it needed to be translated from screen to stage. The choreography consists of actors climbing on furniture, moving set pieces or handling props, lots of park and bark. 🎤
For a show rhapsodizing about the once raw, rebellious spirit of great rock 🎸MUSIC it is exactly the vehicle for mass consumption it criticizes. To quote a critic, “We never hear expressed - in a way that only musical theater can do - what this music means to these characters.”
There are sooooo many skilled performers and hands behind this production. It makes me sad 😞 for the future of musical theater that this the best they could up with. The only moment that felt energized and alive was the encore.
Yes, #TinyDancer is featured just as in the movie 🍿. The show is very religious to the film to a fault. Again. The movie scene is better.
