No, I will not be getting over the happy little scrunch face Tin makes when Charn rests his head on his shoulder, thank you very much

I know that all I ever watch is gay shows with gay dudes being gay but I'm going to be honest this is one of the gayest things every said in these gay shows full of gay dudes.
It'll heal faster with you applying the ointment for me.
Charn. Baby. Do you even hear yourself? Actually, I know you do, and you really love it and you mean it and that just makes it better.

It's about acknowledging that you're falling in love versus a desperate loyalty forged in abuse and chains.
It's about the smiles and the joy versus the worry and anger, the happiness that is being discovered and the pain that has never ended.
It's about the sincerety and the openness and the joy and the slow, sad, pained love that cannot be expressed.
It's red and yellow and warm versus blue and white and cold.
It's a bow tied by a man you love versus ropes on a shirt made by a stranger.
It's coming together because someone laid claim on your relationship versus the silence that cannot be broken without risking everything.
It's the parallel and the contrast and the colors and the lines.
(Charn and Tinn are in public, in a club, being serenaded and with Tinn just having claimed Charn and saving him from leaving with a stranger. Thee and Tanthai are in a car, alone, Tanthai drunk after finding out that a figure from their past was blamed to save him. Thee might have made sure he was taken out of the club but he cannot lay claim no matter how much Tanthai wants that.)
I love both these couples and the deeply fucked up nature of so much but I am absolute trash for the abused prince and his whipping boy bodyguard, for the way Tanthai is begging Thee to take him away from everything but Thee is so afraid of the risk that entails and that possibility of losing him forever that he cannot even try. Thee knows that if he does anything, if he acts on saving Tanthai, that he could very easily never see him again. But Tanthai knows his father is planning to end him to America. Where he very likely never will see Thee again.
The question of separation is not longer just a risk but a reality.
Charn and Tinn's issues are internal, their world view and moral values as opposition to each other despite the love and lust they feel for each other. Their fight is with their own growth and with their own lives and it is between them.
Thee and Tanthai's issues are external, the abuse and their status and the dangers inherent in a powerful father and a bodyguard with nothing to do but lose. Their fight is not so much a fight as a losing battle that neither of them has the power to change without risking everything... as little as that everything is.

I love Charn. I cannot deny it. Look at this chaos asshole and all his chaotic assholeness every time he opens his mouth, even to try to help. I love him, truly and completely. He is this broken and hurt man who turns to chaos and distrust to try to find the right path that could still help people without trying to fight corruption and he didn't give up an ounce of his queerness to do it.
Just his conscience.

The little smiles, the space between them finally broken, the way they might not agree but they've broken that final barrier of trying to actually understand and are starting to work together.
Zero barriers. One man's arms acting as the other's hands. Helping each other and doing their best to actually work together. One doing what the other cannot but specifically to help him. Perfect. And with just a touch of manipulation.
