I thought the previous Ena stuff was neat but didn't quite click with it and idk, maybe felt like it was slightly mean spirited or laughing at the viewer in a way I'm too autistic to parse correctly, but power of potluck like, DID something to me, I think? do you have Thoughts about it

i liked power of potluck a Lot, bc it took the purely affect-based communication of themes of 2 n 3 (anxiety n depression respective) and made it into something a lot closer to textual. like, through the significant focus on Ena herself, the visual language of the Mask and her distance from it, and the direct therapy style moment at the end where she explains her alienation quite plainly, PoP is going for a different thing.

i mean even the ways the side characters display abject misery and say "we are so happy this way," and how ena herself is like "this isnt happiness"... you cant rly get more blatant than that! and im glad! it's not making a statement about what to do abt alienation, or how to overcome masking. it's just bringing them up. esp for ppl in the show's (surprisingly huge) audience who might not know these concepts Exist and arent just them Being Wrong, it's cool to teach that. i wonder what it ~did~ to you, anon
