It all started years ago when my son struggled learning the English language during sixth grade. We live in Germany and therefore German is our first language. The second language English is being taught from the fifth grade on.

The class had a very nice and loving teacher, but she was a bit absent-minded. When she was speaking and telling stories - She never really got to the point. So, the children had problems following her explanations. Incidentally, we parents had the same difficulties at several parents' evenings. And it was held in German our mother tongue.

I wanted to support my son. Because I was a single parent, I couldn't afford tutoring. I started looking for books in English that might interest him to get a feeling for the new language.
