They would and the only reason why I don't really have "celestial" entries in Clan culture expansions is just because my autism doesn't go there
I like trees and bugs and the ecological benefits of managing moorland through controlled burns vs herd grazing and this paper I found on the diet of fish in Llyn Tegid vs wider English ecosystems. But to be honest? My eyes kinda glaze over when space comes up lmao.

Some more Spore empires.
The halucynatus empire again, but this time without most of their accessories (aside from the crown, they look weird when they don't have it on). And as I mentioned in an earlier post, they are at war (at least in game) with these guys:
They started the war btw. And these ones were actually the alpferds' first allies! Which is funny because they're a warrior empire. They don't really have similar ideals to alpferds. And I can't figure out how to call them. In game they have a joke name, but I want to give their species an actual name. Also if you can guess what was the inspiration behind their design then I respect you (hint: I made them after watching SW episode 1)
And here's a member of the posleen empire! They were the first aliens alpferds made contact with. Only later they became their allies. They're also a trader empire, so they're just very friendly to be around. However the most interesting thing about them is their origin:
The posleen just happen to be an empire that was featured in a Polish magazine issue centered around Spore. So they were not only in the pictures in the magazine itself, every stage of their evolution is in the bonus disc that came with the magazine. Aside from that the CD has some creatures who were most likely taken from sporepedia. And some were probably sent by the readers.
So this empire will appear frequently, they were the ones who introduced alpferds to the galactic community.
I should make a post that explains the lore of this universe better. I'll do that when I'll have the energy.
Also sorry for not posting more frequently! Recently when coming back home from school I don't have the desire to draw for no reason.

as predicted, part of the dungeon included facing an illusion of what you consider to be your happiest place, and Red's was a vision of owning a ranch some 30 years in the future with a long term partner, party members interfered with the vision because Red was taking too long, so it started to decay. Got knocked down and throttled by said partner, and Red's only response was "I thought you loved me" to which they got a "Who could ever love you?" in return. Then they just had to go about the rest of the dungeon!

So far we have a Moon Druid, now they need a body!
Like the classes, there isn't enough options on polls to make one with all the dnd races on it so we're doing this first. Also, I'm only adding the ones that are in the PHB + any others I think are neat and I'm not doing different types of each race (ex. chromatic and metallic dragonborn) because that would take forever.

I have not been able to get much writing done this week because I've been trying to get enough stellar jades to get Aventurine's E1. As part of this process, I've realised that if you play Simulated Universe swarm disaster or gold and gears and have a team with Aventurine with his signature lightcone, Dr Ratio, March 7th with trends of the universal market lightcone and Acheron, choose path of the Preservation and get all quake related blessings, they will just wipe out everything.
#Did the Argenti battle on plane 3 of G&G and he didn't get to have a single turn before they went through all three phases#if you can get spore blessings or aftertaste blessings it becomes truly insane#Aventurine did nearly 200k damage with just his basic attack#honestly it's not a team that makes any amount of sense for the rest of the game but I would really recommend it for SU#lily plays HSR

Some day I hope maybe someone will rip sprites from The Tone Rebellion, the first PC game I ever played. I was actually intrigued by it before I even owned a computer back in the day, and I wasn't disappointed. It was a strategy sim game in which you played one of three races of floating tentacle creatures inhabiting a series of hovering islands.
Your enemy in this game was called "The Leviathan," and it wasn't clear exactly what the Leviathan was, but it consisted of otherworldly fleshy growths AND technorganic structures that both spread through spores, and could spawn all sorts of flying monsters. Literally every single thing in this screenshot is a part of "The Leviathan:"
I remember the animations for all of these things. That grey tree thing wiggled its little "arms" constantly and the two cannons on the brassy clockwork thing "looked around" like a chameleon's eyeballs. You didn't fight the other races, but had to eradicate the Leviathan from every island. If you came across another of the jellyfish societies you actually freed them from its influence and allied with them.
To this day there aren't many games in a setting actually this alien. There are games where everything is an alien, yes, but not THIS alien.

I had a bunch of meltdowns yesterday so my husband took me to see the ferns of the Sonoran desert. Here they are. You probably didn't know that the desert has ferns but it definitely does! They're super cool and adapted to high heat and little water. There are many species but we only found three right now. They like rocky outcroppings underneath trees and they frequently grow near seasonal creeks. Nobody grows these guys unfortunately. They're much more interesting than the ferns for sale in most nurseries, I think.
Here's the first fern. Pellaea truncata. Spiny Cliff Brake. It has a very unique look. Notice the bluish leaves that help handle excess light. There was a lot of this guy!
This fern was growing right next to the first! It's Myriopteris fendleri, we think, but we're not a hundred percent sure. Fendler's Lip Fern. These guys are a more traditional looking fern, but very small. Here's a pen for scale.
This one I found all by myself! A big milestone for a new fernhead! This is Myriopteris covillei. Coville's Lip Fern. Look at the back of the leaves! I think they recently made spores!
Anyway, I will keep you posted on my fern adventures. Sadly desert ferns are not much studied or cultivated by the native plant people. Not one of these are at any of the local botanical gardens. It's very sad.
