hobbit characters realizing and confessing their love to you.
Tumblr media
🤍Kili
He is the kind of guy to fall and fall hard. He first realized that he loved you when he saw you effortlessly take out a massive amount of orcs then just smile smugly at him.
his love only grew until it was too much and he had to tell you so he walked up to you when you were sharpening your sword. “Y/n, I- there’s something I wish to tell you…” he said. “What is it, Kili?”
he led you out of ear shot of the others and looked up so you with fear and hope mixed in his eyes. “Y/n… I love you…” and of corse you’d just have to lean down and kiss him.
Tumblr media
🤍Fili
By the time he realized he was falling for you he was already half the way in there was no turning back now. So, he knew he had to tell you before he went mad. Thing is, every time he tried, his words got jumbled and he made a fool out of himself so instead he settled on a dwarfish custom that would express what he wished to say.
he sat next to you and began to weave a braid into your hair. You knew instantly what it meant and turned to kiss his cheek, causing him to blush madly. “Took you long enough,” you whispered softly in his ear.
Tumblr media
🤍Thorin
He realized he loved you when he was facing Azog on the frozen lake. (Movie version) he was in his back, Azog hovering over him with a blade inches from his chest. You ran and knocked the pale orc away from Thorin before killing the foul beast. “Thorin! Are you ok, are you hurt?”
he just jumped to his feet and pressed his lips on yours. “You saved my life, y/n…”
Tumblr media
🤍Bilbo
he realized he loved you when you, quite literally, walked into his life. “I’m so sorry, I wasn’t looking where I was going, are you ok?”
he immediately was a blushing mess and by the end of the week he had brought you a bouquet of wild roses.
you received them with a smile and gave him a gentle kiss on the cheek. “Thank you, Bilbo…”
Tumblr media
🤍Thranduil
He realized he loved you when he was riding into the city of Dale (movie ver) on his elk. (Which of corse got killed ☹️) he was immediately surrounded by the enemy. An arrow was notched but he noticed a second too late and would have been shot in the chest if you hadn’t thrown yourself into him, pushing him out of the way. But -if done at any other time would have likely gotten you thrown in a cell- unfortunately you now had an arrow in your abdomen.
The last thing you saw was Thranduil catching you before you hit the ground then, black.
when you woke you were in a tent, covered in some sort of silky, highly expensive, fabric. You realized after a moment that it was the king’s silk cape.
you looked over when you heard the rustle of fabric, king Thranduil knelt next to you and you went to sit up but only ended up clutching your side. “Lay down, you need to rest…”
you blushed and looked up at your king. “My lord I-”
you were gently cut off by a kiss to the forehead. “Rest, melith nin, you need it.”
Tumblr media
🤍Elrond
he is the strong type he doesn’t confess that he loves you for some time. When he realized it was when he saw you in the garden, helping a baby bird back into its nest. it was such a small act but he found it endearing.
he confessed his feelings on a star lit night. You were out on a walk and the moon was lighting your face so perfectly that he could no longer just watch, he joined you in your walk and by the end of it his lips had met yours more than once.

Comments/Notes: From the imagine, "You put a spell on Thorin to make him fall in love with you, but as the spell wears off, you find out that he has always loved you." Requested by @asgardianhobbit98
Written while listening to Journey's Greatest Hits.
I hope you like the fic. As always, like, reblog and comment if you enjoy. If you wish to be added to any of my tag lists, let me know.
Thank you to everyone who supported me during my posting hiatus. I felt like it was needed to get back into a better mindset after I become incredibly overwhelmed by another one of my fics' reception.
The last twenty four hours had been beyond perfect. The spell which you had been keeping for the last few months, ready for the chance to use, had worked better than you could have imagined. Thorin had declared undying love to you as the sun set; the two of you having just shared dinner together with a large group. Then once on your own together, he had been so open in his affection toward you, blushing and smiling as the words tumbled out of his mouth.
“I love you more than anything,” he had told you, confident and bold. He had taken your hand, kissed it, then asked for you to join him on the royal balcony.
The two of you had sipped wine, while Thorin gazed at you over the top of the glass, unable to tear his gaze from you.
You shared tender kisses, hand holding, and Thorin had held you as you fell asleep. Then you woke in his arms, warm and content. He had been watching you, and as you woke from your slumber, he smiled at you and kissed your head.
All of that day and you had remained in Thorin’s presence, sharing meals, conversations, kisses.
“Would you join me again tonight on the balcony? It is forecast that we should have a clear night sky.”
“Of course,” you had replied. Only now, sadness began to seep from your words, unable to hide any further. The realisation that all of this would be over at sundown was growing heavy in your heart and gut. The spell would only last for one twenty four hour period, and could only ever be used on one person once in their life. After sundown, and Thorin would return to his former self, purely a friend to you and your King, nothing more than that.
It was almost sundown, and you excused yourself from Thorin’s chambers, telling him that you wished to quickly write a letter to a friend. He just smiled at you, his eyes so full of adoration, as you disappeared out of the door.
As you walked the corridors back to your bed chamber, you felt tears fall down your cheeks. The pain was so heavy and hot in your chest. Just to have Thorin adore you for twenty four hours had been perfect beyond any kind of comprehension. However, the fall back to reality was going to be excruciating. In time, another woman would have Thorin fall for them, and this time it would be of his own choice.
You lit your candles and sat down on the edge of your bed, staring at the vase of roses that Thorin had had brought to your chamber. They could now be disposed of as they would just serve as a reminder of your pathetic need to have Thorin love you.
All sense of time slipped away from you as you fell asleep on your bed, still fully dressed. Once you had lay out on your bed, you had not moved. Tears had flowed, pulling you into your subconscious world where you could be happy temporarily.
Dreams came and went, flickering pictures of far off lands that you had explored with the Company, months earlier, where you had fallen for their leader. Flashes of sunlight bouncing off swords and the calls of armies became a jumble in your mind.
Your eyes opened slowly, adjusting. The candles had gone out hours ago. There was a dull thump behind your eyes and you winced, blinking hard.
For a second, you felt as if you were still in a dream somewhere. You could feel something resting on your waist, curled around. Blinking again, you looked down and could make out a hand. On the middle finger was a ring.
You gasped and shifted away suddenly, almost dropping out of bed. “What?” you choked.
Thorin was lying on your bed, and was now rousing. His eyes opened slowly and he smiled at the sight of you. “Come back to bed, my love,” he said sleepily. “It’s still early.”
“But…how?”
He just smiled again and sat up. “You think a spell could make me love you?”
“How did you know about it?”
“I’ve known about it quite some time now,” he replied. “I will not name any names, but I was made aware that you acquired the spell from someone in Lake-town, did you not?”
Shame hit you hard and you lowered your head, feeling the tears fall once again. “I’m sorry,” you said softly. “And now you are playing along to mock me; the spell wore off at night fall yesterday.”
Thorin got up from the bed and followed the edge of it towards you. “Why would you think I’d ever mock you?” He stood before you, his head to once side in question and disbelief that you could ever think such a thing.
“I was stupid to ever think you could love me,” you hissed.
Anger flared in Thorin’s eyes and on impulse he grabbed your hip and threw you both into a kiss. It was hot, demanding, needing. So much unlike the day earlier. All you could do in your weakness was cling to him, your backside resting against your dresser. He was pressing into you harder now, his tongue desperate in your mouth.
Thorin drew back from you, his blue eyes ablaze. They were no longer soft like the day before, but they were on fire. That had always been the true Thorin, and as you had known him for the last six months: passionate, on fire. He pressed his forehead to you and then kissed it.
You closed your eyes as you felt his hand become buried in your hair. His other hand was still on your hip. There was a desperation in his actions. The day earlier and he had wanted to be in your company, to look upon you. Now, he needed to touch you.
The two of you kissed again, hard and needing. You could feel your inhibitions let go, and your hands became tangled up in his hair, your breath lost, your heart pounding.
He whispered your name, needing you.
Within minutes and the two of you were back on your bed, disrobed and exploring each other. Thorin’s lips caressed every inch of you, and when he was kissing down the inside of your thigh, he looked up at you. “Why did you ever think you needed a spell to capture my heart? It was always yours.”
The two of you joined, exhaling in relief at the pent up frustration. Thorin was over you, his one hand gripping yours. To feel him connected with you, feel him inside you, giving himself over to you by choice, that was the true magic.
Your bodies were synchronised, moving together in rhythm so well.
Each and every time Thorin’s gaze connected with yours, and you could see the love for you there. It burned. The spell you had cast had diluted his true love, and his gaze the day earlier had been as if he weren’t quite in the room with you. Now he was present for every second.
Every thrust was now making you build upward towards climax. The sensations feeling as if waves were cascading down your body, until the last one took hold. It came from the base of your stomach, and shattered outward. You shook, and as you rode out that one spectacular wave, Thorin kept his gaze locked on you.
The sensation of you gripping Thorin’s girth in your plateau pushed him over the edge, and he spilled. He dug his head against your neck, groaning at the wondrous pleasure that washed over him.
Both of you fell down beside each other, panting and sweating. Thorin reached for you, and you rolled over to him, and put your head on his chest. “Is that what true love feels like?” you gasped.
“No spell could ever replicate that,” Thorin said softly. “When you first placed the spell on me, it was as if I couldn’t control my words, and no longer could I keep my feelings for you secret. But the expression of my love for you, it…I cannot describe it. It was as if it was dulled, and when dusk came, the spell having ended, my heart and my body burned for you again, like it always had. The spell stopped me feeling that love in a true sense.”
“Why did you never tell me how you felt?” you asked, propping yourself up on your arm.
“I was terrified of rejection. The spell at least took away my cowardice.”
“You’re the bravest man I’ve ever known, and yet you couldn’t tell me you loved me?” you asked, not quite able to believe such a revelation. “You lead a kingdom, and armies, yet you couldn’t tell me three simple words.”
Thorin sighed. “You did not tell me either.”
“I had reason not to,” you scoffed. “You’re a king. Declaring your love to a king and expecting them to love you in return is just ridiculous.”
You saw that anger flare in Thorin’s eyes again, and his jaw clenched. “I am a king in name and by my birth right. But I am no different to you in heart. There is only one that I bow to, and that is my wife and Queen. And those positions will only ever be filled by one person…you.”

Imagine: You can speak to animals in Middle-Earth
Thorin, Fíli, Kíli, Bilbo's reactions when they understand you can speak to animals in Middle-Earth
N/A: I haven't written in English for a while. I may be rusty…
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Thorin
“The inn is this way,” you say to Thorin several times during the journey when he is lost in towns that you pass through. Or something like “I think the stable with our ponies is at your right, then at your left.” Or, “Oh, Balin is looking for you at the town's entrance, hm, straight on, then left after the bakery.”
At the beginning of the journey, it surprised you how many times Thorin could be lost. But now, you eventually get used to it.
The only thing you’re not used to is the look on his face every time you help him. Surprised and suspicious. While you just want to help him…
Well, could you tell him it's some ravens that are letting you know when he needs help? “The king is looking for Master Balin.” “The king doesn’t walk in the right direction.” “My lady, the king wants to go to the inn.” They are polite but they never give you the choice…
Other animals speak sometimes with you and you love to listen to them. It’s surprising how much you can learn with them. The best place for that is in Beorn’s house. Thanks to his hospitality, you can walk around his house and speak to animals you have never spoken to before. It’s fun and it especially changes your mind after everything has happened during the journey.
Yet, when you thought ravens have let you in peace, two of them come for you in an evening. You have just finished dinner and the night has almost fallen. They ask for help, explaining their baby is trapped in an orc’s trap. At first, you want to refuse : it’s almost night, Beorn is already out in bear’s form, and some orcs are also soon out.
But you can’t let a baby raven die, right? So you follow them in the forest behind Beorn house. A forest that looks welcoming by day, but much less so at night.
Thanks to other animals' help, you finally find the trap, more or less quickly, and free the little one. As he thanks you, you notice the silence around you, especially the ravens. Then, you notice the darkness of the forest. You remain motionless until you hear a voice behind you.
“What are you doing here?” a cold, hard male voice says behind as you turn to him and realise it’s only Thorin. Even in the dark, it’s impossible not to recognise his voice.
Damn, your heart is dead by now. You don’t even find the good words. “It’s our fault, my King,” one of the ravens says as he comes closer to you on a branch. He explains everything to Thorin while you look at him astonished.
“Don’t tell me he could understand you from the start!” you say, upset as you turn to the raven. “Why did you use me all this time if he could understand?” you progressively raise your voice, ignoring where you are.
“Roäc is the only raven I can understand,” Thorin says. “But now is not the time to speak. Let’s go back to–” When he stops talking, you shiver. You can feel you’re not alone. The ravens and the other animals are already left. Thorin suddenly takes your hand and pulls it. You start a quick sprint to Beorn’s house and you’re glad no orcs found you.
You enter the house out-of-breath. Thorin turns to you, not making the effort to hide his anger. He shouts at you that you should never have gone outside, that you’re stupid, that you could die easy. And like Bilbo before, that you shouldn't be here with them.
Oh, hm, it really hurts to hear all of that. You remain silent, looking down until you notice he is still holding your hand. His hand is so big but warm. Oh. Hm. It’s hot all of a sudden, isn’t it?
“Well,” he starts, clearing his throat. “I’m sorry if Roäc bothered you many times. And thank you for saving his little one.” Is he embarrassed? Oh, you would give anything to have more light to see if he is blushing!
“It’s nothing. He and other ravens helped me during the journey, so it's normal.” Now you look him in the eye, you don’t know what to add. He also seems engrossed by your eyes.
Maybe something could have happened. Well, only if his nephews didn’t enter the room abruptly, shouting they were looking for him. Or maybe it's just postponed for another time…
Tumblr media
Fíli
“Kíli is looking for you,” you say to Fíli once you find him cleaning one of his swords among a lot of them scattered on the floor. An impressive collection that you always wonder if you already saw all of them or not. “This time is because Dwalin has made fun of him and he wants revenge. It seems he can’t leave without you less than an hour,” you resume, smiling as you see him putting away his swords one by one. “The maximum was three days,” he replies, laughing at his own answer. “I'm surprised you found me before him.”
Can you tell him you asked for help from a bird and a dog? The town where you stopped isn’t big but it seems that Kíli couldn’t find his brother ; or maybe it was Fíli who didn't want us to find him. Anyway, you offered your help and with your capacity, it’s always easy to find someone, in exchange for some food or other information. Animals are easier to convince than humans.
“I guess I’m lucky,” you answer, shrugging as you start to walk with him. “Speaking of luck, you should speak to Oín about your recent injury. It could become infected.” Despite your serious tone, he looks at you with a smile, the radiant smile that swings the beads from his moustache, but doesn’t say anything about it. When you join his brother, they immediately start to plan to take revenge on Dwalin, leaving you to your own business before Kíli asks for your help.
During the journey, you notice Fíli disappears sometimes for a short time. You guess you need time alone when you’re a prince with an uncle like Thorin and a brother like Kíli. Even Dwalin and Balin seem to expect a lot from him. It looks exhausting, even from where you are. But, you always eventually find him when someone is looking for him, and luckily for you, he is never upset with it.
Yet, one evening when you were looking for him because Thorin needs him, you got lost in the forest. Because of the darkness of the night, your foot catches on a root and you fall suddenly to the ground. Great, now you’re hurt in addition to being lost…
You chose to sit down for a while, waiting for the pain to pass. Then, you strangely notice there are no animals around you to help you. It’s not good. Not good at all. The only time you didn't find animals in a forest was when there was an orc camp nearby.
When you wait in this kind of situation, it’s hard to know how much time passes, but the forest is totally dark when you decide to go back to the company’s camp. Now, you can only count on your luck to find the right path and not to meet orcs…
You barely walk when you hear silent branches crackling not far from you. Just a few metres from you, one orc with a small lantern is walking. An orc scout. You don’t have time to take out your weapon that he is already running after you.
When you are about to run, a raven rushes to his face, blinding him, while someone comes from nowhere and kills him without a sound. The lantern falls in the ground and you recognise Fíli. The raven doesn’t wait to fly away, letting you both alone while he crushes the lantern and the fire with his foot.
“How did you find me?” you ask, surprised, as he takes your hand and starts walking away. “Wait, my foot is hurt, I can’t walk fast…”
He stops his steps and takes you on his back as if you weighed nothing. Oh, his hair smells like earth and metal. “My uncle’s raven helped me,” he eventually says as he starts walking. “And some of your friends showed me the forest but my uncle’s raven was the only one who wanted to go with me in this forest’s part.”
“My friends?” you frown. “A squirrel, a bird and, hm, a frog,” he says. “The last one was really hard to follow.”
You stay silent for a moment, understanding he knows you can talk to animals. “How do you know?” you eventually ask, shyly hidden behind his back.
You hear him laugh first as you both get out of the forest, seeing the company's camp nearly. “You talked with all the animals you meet. It's not hard to guess.”
“So, everyone knows?” you exclaim, glad to be out of the forest given the volume of your voice. “I don't think so,” he says as you breathe in relief. “But I can ask them if they know about it.”
You don't need to see him to know he's smiling. You travel enough with him and his brother to know when they take advantage of a situation. “What do you want to hold your tongue?” you ask, a little upset. “Nothing,” he replies as he puts you on the ground, his smile widening when he sees your annoyed expression. “Nothing yet,” he hurries to resume. “Let me think about it and I'll tell you.”
As you both almost join the company's camp, the light of the fire shows his proud face. You don't know what you should expect from his future request, but you know he already enjoys it…
Tumblr media
Kíli
If there is something you enjoy the most in this journey, it’s teasing Kíli. His reactions are always entertaining!
It started at the beginning of the journey when he asked the company where his knife was. Thanks to a little bird’s murmur, you found it for him. He was very surprised. It was honestly so cute.
Now the journey continues and you often answer his questions. You can even predict the rain. It’s amazing for you and troubling for him. Maybe you should tell him the truth before he imagines anything. But, well, his expressions are too cute and innocent to stop.
Some dwarves are still suspicious about you, and this doesn't get better with all your answers. So, you would like to avoid Kíli and his questions, but it’s impossible. You’re becoming more and more friends with him, and he often speaks with you, especially in the evening after dinner, when everyone is busy with their own things. (In truth, his brother is also often with you both, when he is not with his uncle and Balin.)
Yet, something changes when you arrive in Beorn’s home. When you realise the skin-changer can also, more or less, speak with animals, you spend a lot of time with him. Used to live alone, you thought you were bothering him, but he seemed interested in talking to you about some animals, their habits, their preferences or the manner to ask them a service.
So, as Kíli doesn’t know about your ability, he doesn’t understand your obsession for him. “Obsession” may be an exaggeration, but he really misses you. He tries to speak with you, but you often say that you’re busy with Beorn.
A night when Kíli notices you’re not sleeping yet, he looks for you in the house. His worry increases when he doesn’t find you and nobody can tell him where you are. Even if Beorn told them not to go out at night, he ends up outside, walking around the house.
“No! Don’t get too close to me like that!” he hears you exclaim in the distance. “Don’t force me to use my strength against you!” Then he realises your voice is coming from in the barn behind the house. “No, stop! I already told you not to touch me like that!” Alright, Kíli is now running to you, abruptly opening the front door.
Following Beorn’s instructions, you spend your evenings talking to some animals and all the animals have their own personality. And this bloody dog is too affectionate and full of energy to speak with.
When Kíli enters, he shouts your name, waking up all the animals in the barn. He can’t understand them, but they’re furious against him. He runs to you until he notices the dog next to you. “What’s happening here? Are you hurt? Who is touching you? Even if he is very tall, if Beorn tries–”
“What are you talking about? Beorn didn’t do anything!” you suddenly say, standing up. Then, the dog you were talking with pokes you in the leg with his muzzle. “No, he is not!” you whisper, visibly embarrassed.
“He is not what?” Kíli asks, raising an eyebrow. You start to walk to the exit, but the dog is following you.
“Yet, you seem important to him!” the dog barks as he walks before you and goes out when you open the door. “He often looks at you during the day. Even his brother is sick of hearing him talk about you all the time.”
“Stop saying nonsense. Join the others for the night and we’ll continue tomorrow,” you reply, not noticing that Kíli looks at you talking to the dog until the dog barks again before leaving. “So, ask him what he dreamt about yesterday night, you will know!”
The dog finally runs away, leaving you and Kíli alone walking to Beorn’s house. He stays silent, hoping you would explain what happened. Yet, you surprise him so much by asking him what his dream was last night that he can’t help but blush and lose his words. His eyes suddenly open wide and he even takes a step back. He was far from imagining that you would ask that question and you clearly understand it when he quickly wishes you a good night before leaving you alone in the entrance.
You stay a while thinking about what happened until you choose to go to sleep, hoping the dog will be talkative tomorrow.
Tumblr media
Bilbo
Talking to animals is so great. In exchange for information or services, they can tell you a lot of things, especially where the best fruits or nuts are. You’re clearly never hungry.
And it didn't escape the hobbit's notice! Bombur or some others saw it too, but they are still too suspicious about you to speak to you. So one afternoon, usually at tea time, Bilbo approaches you on his pony and asks you where you find your apple. You’re happy someone other than Gandalf talks to you, so you gladly tell him and give one from your bag.
That’s how you started your friendship with Mr Baggins. You even call him “Bilbo” now. But you never dared tell him your capacity. He'd think you were crazy, wouldn't he?
Bilbo knows you hide something from him, but everyone has their secrets, so he never asks you how you find those fruits and nuts. It’s only in Mirkwood that he discovers your ability.
Mirkwood, as everyone else, turns your head and you have trouble staying focused. It’s only when the spiders attack that you notice you aren’t with the company but you can still hear them shouting in the distance. A giant spider finds you, then another. It’s clearly impossible to flee, so let’s try talking?
Well. You try the same technique that Bilbo used with the trolls, but they are more intelligent than them. “It’s the first time a meal can understand us. It’s amusing, don’t you think?” one says to the other. “You’re right, let’s enjoy it a little longer.”
They talk to you until you don’t hear anything but them. No dwarves’ shouting anymore. Some other spiders join their friends and now, you’re in the middle of a circle of so many giant spiders that you’re ready to faint. You continue to speak, hoping the elves will be here any minute.
But to your surprise, you hear one of the spiders cries and falls, then another. But you don’t see any elf.
Then Bilbo appears, provokes the spiders, runs far away before disappearing again. All the spiders run in his direction, leaving you alone. You take advantage of it to free the dwarves and then, the elves finally find you like they should have.
After the elves’ dungeons and the escape, it’s only on the freezing Bard’s boat that you can speak again with Bilbo. You sit next to him, wrapping yourself to keep you warm. “I haven't had time to thank you for the spiders yet…” you say, knowing he saw you talk to them. “They seemed to enjoy chatting with you,” he chuckles.
“I prefer to chat with you,” you say, closing your eyes and letting your head fall on his shoulders. Some dwarves smile but remain silent. You can’t see it but Bilbo’s face has never been so warm despite the cold of the lake.

Secluded: Thorin x F!Virgin!Reader
Tumblr media
Warning: Smut, Virgin!Reader.
It had been only a few weeks into the long venture back home into the Blue Mountains, unfortunately, the weather had turned south and the mountains were too treacherous to continue on foot, luckily however you both had managed to find a secluded cave inside the side of the mountain.
It seemed to be an old passageway that was used to transfer water through the mountains to the village below now it was nothing more than a flooded cave. You looked out to Thorin who helped you move into the cave covering himself in the fur cloak. He went toward the back of the cave seeing how the further in the less likely the cold could reach.
"There is a stairway leading down. If we follow it we should be able to rest easy tonight."
"Let's hope there is some rope or torches to start a fire...otherwise we won't be able to eat."
Thorin offered you his hand and helped you down the stairs which led to a room that seemed to once hold equipment but now it was barren. Luckily the water had not reached the leftover wood.
You sneezed and noticed Thorin was coughing, the cold rain and sleet had chilled you to the core. The fur on his cloak was almost frozen and your skin was slightly pink from the chill in the air. Quickly you grabbed some of the wood and used some flint to start a fire, luckily the opening from the stairs gave enough air for the flame to not die out.
The sudden feel of a hand on your shoulder made your skin grow warm and a bit of a flutter in your heart. It was no secret to any of the others that you felt deep emotions for Thorin. You were always afraid to let it be known, you felt that he never really wished to be in a relationship or at least had no interest in anyone for the moment. But you always saw him in a different way than the others and he in turn did with you.
Many saw him as a prince or a warrior, someone who was supposed to be regal and a symbol to all as one of the best. But not to you, he was simply Thorin, the man you loved faults and all. In all the years you knew him from a boy to now, you never saw him as a prize to be won.
You watched as he placed one of the blankets over you and turned around.
"You...you should undress, we'll both get sick if we stay in these clothes. You can use the blanket to cover yourself when you're finished."
He nodded to you with a small smile. As he walked to the other side of the cramped room and began disrobing. Immediately you looked away, as much as you wished to look you knew it would be wrong without his permission. You gripped the blanket a little tighter as you removed the wet clothes underneath, you felt the chill from your skin slowly disappear as the heat from the fire and the idea of being nude in front of Thorin didn't help. You clung the blanket closer to your body blushing at the idea.
You could hear him shifting as you saw he was covered in a fur cloak around his body as well. He sat next to the fire and gestured for you to join him. You sat beside him adjusting your legs so they were a bit closer to the fire. The warmth from the fire made you smile a bit as you enjoyed the silence. You looked to the side to see he was lost in thought. It's been hard these last few years and you could see it on his face.
"You should get some rest Thorin..." you said gently as he came out of his trance and looked at you.
"I can't...haven't been able to sleep for some time."
"Thorin..."
"Every time I close my eyes I see that slug of a dragon, my kin...everything that has happened."
You said nothing as he hit the ground with his fist in frustration. He was always on the front, trying to save anyone he could, you knew if it was possible he would have done everything to save every soul on that mountain. You hated seeing him like this. In the heat of the moment, you brought your arms around his chest, carefully minding his nudity still looking away as you brought a gentle hand down to his fist gently squeezing it for comfort.
"You always do this...you always put yourself down when you don't deserve it."
You nudged your head into his cloak and felt his body slightly became a bit tense from the sudden affection.
"You have done every single way possible to help them, how many lives did you save that day leading them to safety?..."
The small moment of silence was brought on with Thorin bringing a hand to yours at his chest enjoying the warmth from it.
"You've done more than enough Thorin... So please don't say such things...it breaks my heart to see you like this."
Thorins eyes were fixed on the fire ahead but his thoughts were there in that moment as he turned his whole body to you. You moved from him slightly as you noticed his eyes were fixed on yours, your whole body became just a tad bit warmer from it. You closed your eyes at the feeling of his heartbeat, strong and true.
"Y/n..."
"Every hardship and burden you must carry...you dont have to do it alone."
You gave a quick smile as he wrapped an arm around your shoulders bringing you closer. The cloaks around both of you falling from both of you, he didn't seem to care though and you couldn't lie. Neither did you.
You felt him gently lift your hand to his lips, your breathing quickened as his kissed the back of it. You couldn't help but smile as his face showed a calm expression as he turned his attention to you.
"Your smile brings me so much joy. It is only with you that I feel like this."
"Thorin..."
You brought your other hand to his face as you inched closer and closer, Thorin however was the first to close the gap between the two of you. His lips pressed against yours, they were so warm. The touch from his hands holding you closer, skin against skin making you both feel as hot as a dragons fire. The cold air which was at first unbearable, now a welcome relief.
You couldn't think for a moment as his lips left yours. If was like heavens themselves took over in that one moment. You smiled to yourself as you laid your head down on his chest feeling his heart beat quickening. You felt him lay both of you down onto the now fur covered ground holding you close.
This time when he was close to you he decided to take a risk and see if you were really interested in him by putting his hand on your lower back. You brought your gaze up to met his, but then blushed and turned your gaze away. Soon you looked up again, moving in closer and hugged him. He wrapped his arms around you and pulled you tighter against his body. You wanted to get even closer to him, but it wasn’t possible. He caressed you, but you wanted more and he knew it.
Thorin moved his head away for a moment as he smiled at the sight before him. He leaned closer and kissed you tenderly. The kiss made shivers run through your body. His soft lips on yours were almost too good to be true. He caressed your lower back which made you push your hips closer to him. You wanted him so badly, in a way you had never wanted anyone else before. The kisses quickly became more intense but then Thorin broke the contact.
“Are you sure you want this?” He asked. He had to hear you say it, even though the way you touched him didn’t leave much to speculate.
“Yeah”, you said eagerly. “But you should know I’m not…experienced.”
“You've never laid with anyone?”
It was definitely a surprise to him. He knew many suitors asked for your hand in the past but to know that he would be your first. It made a sense of pride but also protective instincts to arise.
“Don’t worry. I’ll be gentle”, Thorin reassured with a soft voice. “I promise.”
You nodded and gave him a smile. You felt Thorin’s gaze wandering over your body making you blush and almost wanted to cover yourself. His hands on your waist were warm, his touch gentle and confident, but you felt insecure.
“You are so beautiful, y/n”, Thorin murmured, making the red deepen on your cheeks.
You weren't just shy about him looking at you, but also you looking at him. Even though you didn’t dare look at him openly, you couldn’t help but admire his body from time to time. Somedays in the training grounds you would catch a glimpse of him, but you never looked too long, you always felt it was wrong somehow.
You brought your hands to his chest, you could tell that your touch was making him more aroused by the second and your longing was slowly growing more and more. When your hands wandered from his chest to his face, he pulled you against himself and kissed you passionately once more. You answered the kiss, relieved that he could no longer look at your body without hindrance.
You wished this moment would last forever. It didn’t, of course, and after a few kisses Thorin started to move downwards again, pressing kisses on your neck as he fondled your breasts. The kisses became more passionate by the second a he brought a hand down passing over your pussy, you could feel his fingers slowly and gently rubbing your most sensitive area, slow soon turned to fast as the nerves made your whole body almost go into shock.
The feeling of two fingers entering your made you gasp out loud as you gripped onto even tighter than before leaving red claw marks along his back.
After a few seconds you felt your pussy pulsating as you moaned and squirmed as the warm waves went through your body. When the orgasm subsided you reached out to Thorin. You wanted him inside you now , you wanted another orgasm like that.
"More?" Thorin asked teasingly, caressing your inner thighs with a small smirk on his face.
You couldn't speak, you could only manage a nod as he guided his cock to your entrance.
You moaned again as you felt him inside you, filling you up, stretching you out. He leaned over you and kissed you as he began to move. Your hands wandered over his skin. Your needy touch turned him on even more, if possible. He tried to be as gentle as possible even though he wanted to be more rough with you.
Thorin pressed kisses on your neck, whispered among his breaths how beautiful and desirable you were, how much he wanted you and how good it felt to be with you. His deep voice made your head swim and shivers run down your spine. The cold winds nipped at both of you as the lingering flames spread the shadows of every moment onto the walls. Your fingers delicately glided down and traveled between the grooves and valleys of his abs, left hand tracing shapes on his arms and using your right hand to stroke his lower abs softly.
Looking up you started to admire the curves and angles of his face, each divot and scar on his body of varying depths, either from orcs or friendly sparring. You started caressing his face, moving his hair away from his forehead to plant slow, meaningful kisses on it. Your kisses started soft, but quickly grew heavy. Letting your lips linger on his cheeks and jawline before gliding further down, shuffling your body so you were able to kiss his chest.
“mn, oh...ngh..”
Your hands kept clutching at his body for any support, not any help to your body violently rocking to the hard stone floor. You could see it in his eyes, he wasn’t gonna stop anytime soon, his muscular body shadowed over yours. You just couldn’t keep control of your self, his cock fucking into you even rougher than before made you spew your moans which echoed against the stone walls.
"Mahal, Y/n…" he murmured. He slipped a hand between both of you and gently slid a finger over your folds, rubbing your already slick clit. He kept going, giving you an intense second release in close succession, and you clung to him. Breathlessly, you kissed him, shaky with aftershocks of the two successive intense orgasms.
"Thorin…" You threw your leg over him, reaching for his cock with a gentle, sure hand. He turned under you, so you were now straddling him, as he ran his hands up your thighs, squeezing them in lustful appreciation. You brought a gentle guiding hand to your center, and he easily entered inside you once more, stretching and filling you in the way that you so desperately craved. You moaned softly, He started slow, your hands planted on his chest for stability, he was completely enveloped in your heat. He reached up to touch your soft round breasts, making you bit your lip pleasure. His cock hit deep inside, as you rode him that made you want to cry in pleasure, as you raised and lowered yourself onto his cock in time with his thrusts.
He dropped his hands to your hips and began to thrust up into you faster and harder, causing you to lean back, your hands now on his firm thighs as you met his thrusts.
"Oh…don't stop, please don't stop…" you pleaded and begged, not that he would have stopped as long as you still wanted this. Your clit was getting just the right amount of contact. Suddenly, you threw your head back, mouth open in a silent scream as you came a third time, and he picked up his pace, close to the edge himself.
"Mahal, Y/n…you feel so good…!" He swore as he came hard inside your core, letting out almost an animalistic growl. You laid down at his side, his arm cradling your naked form as your leg hooked over his thigh and as you placed a gentle hand over his chest. You smiled as you felt him tugging the blankets back over both of you, and with it came the exchange of gentle, sweet kisses. And before long the secluded cave soon became comfortable as you laid together, both warm and blissful to have each other. You felt Thorin lean his head down kissing your forehead.
"Are you alright...i apologize if i was too rough."
"I'm fine...a little sensitive but..."
You sentenced was cut short as is thumbs savored the soft skin of your cheekbones, his fingertips explored the delicate curves of your ear. For once in his life, the unspeakable, glorious joy that overflowed in his heart simply left no room for concern of anything or anyone else in the world. He brought his lips to yours once more, this time it was passionate and pure.
He shifted carefully, one hand sliding down to the small of your back, pressing you impossibly close to him. The smell of him was becoming enticing with every second.
No words were needed. You knew, and he knew this feeling. This want to stay and to never leave each other. To feel the heartbeat of the other grow quicker with every look given. The feeling of safety and compassion was all he felt in this moment with you. A moment he wished could last forever, but for now. Until the storm has calmed. That would be enough. Secluded in each others arms was more than you could ever wish.

Hi!! Please excuse my rambling!! I hope this is okay!💜
Can I please request a Kili x fem!healing mutant!reader where she has healing powers, and that’s why she was asked to be a part of Thorin’s Company, the Dwarves loving her as if she’s their own, seeing her as part of the family (and Bilbo of course). She’s not a fighter and is very gentle (Thorin often questioning whether she should be on this quest with them), and they’re all very protective of her. Kili and Y/n becoming especially close, sharing soft kisses when they think no one is watching, cuddling together at night (every night), and after he got shot with that poisonous arrow and she healed him, he asked if he could braid her hair… She says yes (only Fili and Bofur in the room to see, they’d be smiling so wide and telling Y/n “Welcome to the family!”🥺). When the Kili, Fili, and Thorin go off to fight Azog, Y/n, who is supposed to stay in the Mountain, hidden and safe (also ready to heal anyone who needs it, when it’s safe to), sneaks off into the middle of the battle to find them (as she can’t help but shake the feeling that something is going to happen to Kili and his family). She finds each of them (Kili, Fili, and Thorin) after they’ve been attacked by Orks, close to death, but she heals them just in time, saving all 3 Durins (this allowing the three of them to overpower Azog and win the battle, and live to tell the tale). At the dinner after the battle (the one where the humans, elves, and Dwarves + Bilbo were eating together), Thorin makes a toast to Y/n for saving their lives, and announces her engagement to Kili (Y/n being very flustered and Kili being so proud, giving her a big kiss, her burying her head in his chest🥺🥺)
Finally, it took so long to finish it.
I'm really sorry for the wait, but I love to take my time in doing things, especially requests.
Btw this was long, nad a little of a miss since I had to find away to link the events, especially since what you requested seems to happen at different times, I almost cut it to three to four parts. It was too long.
Warning: I don't know? My writing. English is my third language so...sorry for the grammar mistakes.
Tumblr media
The only thing your ears could pick up is the soft sleepy noise of the company. They all were sleeping or at least that is what you thought, so carefully and as silently as possible you stood up zigzagging your way to the person who had stolen your heart since your eyes first meet.
He, like everyone else, had his pretty eyes closed. His arms were wide open as if he was waiting for you.
"I will always wait for you" he confessed to you, one night, causing a soft smile to bloom for days in a row. The dwarves even teased you about it, with knowing smiles.
In your eyes, there is nothing but adoration for Kili. He may or may not be your first love but he sure will be your last, because not in a million years you would love someone like your loves, your whole heart was in the palm of his hand, for him to keep no matter what will happen.
Laying by his side, his hands unconsciously hung around you, burying you deep in his chest, warming your heart and body from the cruel cold wind. The gesture caused your cheek to hit up, it was hard not to blush, when you can feel his hot breath a centimetre away from your neck, sending shivers of pleasure down your spine.
You left your head to admire his face, and to your surprise, he was already looking at you with the biggest grin, and you couldn't help but stare.
Your face turned blank, which scared Kili for a moment, you almost gave the poor boy a heart attack.
He thought he was making you uncomfortable. He only calmed when he notice your eyes, those eyes that shined with millions of stars.
Your pupils were wide, like a cat. You had an immense red blush, that only he notice now, which was caused by the little to no space between your faces.
Taking the opportunity, he stole a kiss. The kiss was gentle, warm and soft, it represented Kili.
This was Kili, your kili. You thought.
You were clinging to each other never breaking the kiss as you changed position, now you were laying on top of him. Your hand holding his hair to stop from him moving and to deepen the kiss. You flinched when his cold hands come in contact with the warm skin under your shirt.
He caressed your tense shoulders, making you moan softly as you relaxed a little. You both knew you can't take it far, since literary everyone was sleeping by your side and can wake up just by one small movement, so you sadly broke the kiss.
You lay on top of him with his hands still working their magic, it provided him with enough comfort, easing the fear in his heart, the fear of losing you.
It was hard for Kili to believe that such an amazing human with intriguing powers had chosen him over his brother and his uncle, who happened to be popular among the young girls and women. He thanked every god he knew and believed in, for sending you into his life, and he promised that he will take care of you. He won't leave you, and you won't leave him, he will protect you with his life.
You were like the light that guided him towards home, with you he understand that home was a person, not a place, and god…Once this is all done he will propose. He will worship every inch of you, and every part of you will know what it's like to be loved by a man.
Without even noticing, the two lover birds fell asleep, unaware of the ears that were listening as they swear their oaths, and they may not show it (Thorin who believed you to be unnecessary for the mission)but they were happy for both of you.
You completed each other perfectly, like two pieces of a puzzle.
**************************************************************
The days passed in a blur, and without realizing you were running away from the elven and the Orcs. Everything was a mass, that you didn't even notice the arrow coming your lover's way, and unfortunately, it hit him before you could push him out of it way.
A few minutes later about an hour, you found yourself in a human village. The weather and the sky matched your mood. Grey, from fear, doubt and sadness that was overwhelming you, causing your power to be momentarily deactivated.
"It gonna be okay" Kili groaned tooking your hands in his, and you noticed how shaky they were, yet they squeezed yours, offering some comfort.
Weren't the one supposed to do that?
Oh, how terrible he looked. All sick and sweaty while you sat there focusing on your power, pushing them to the surface but no matter your effort, it seem as if you lost them.
"No..it's not okay" You snapped your eyes turning to your intertwined fingers. How dare he say that, while lying on a table, taking each second a step towards death, nothing is going to be okay if you don't fix him.
Fili and Bofur sat a little away giving you both some space, they were the only one left to protect you. They were sure you will help Kili, and you loved him just as much as they did if not more. You wouldn't let him die.
"It's okay take your time" He winced, throwing a flirty(?) smile your way. How can he act nonchalant while his life is been sucked off him?
You looked at him for a moment, and you saw it…
He was always looking at you with so much love as if you held the world in your hand. It helped your heart calm down.
If only he knew how much he mean to you, if he died you were dying with him. you closed you eyes in frustration letting your mind surrended to the numbness, and without realizing your power travelled from your heart to the tip of your fingers, to his whole body covering him up with golden light. It looked and felt holy for the three dwarves, something out of heaven.
The moment it disappeared, you opened your eyes and to your surprise, he was like new, as if never fought a battle in his life, even the scares that adored his body were now gone, and you kissed the night your become had disappeared.
Fili and Bofur were surprised, unable to believe what their eyes just witnessed. They knew you were powerful, but this was something else. In their life they never saw something like this. How much are powerfull?
He stood too fast almost falling face first if it weren't for your body supporting his, he held your face with both of his hands, as he felt life coming back to his body, and sudenly Kili realised something…he was about to leave you, he was about to die leaving you alone. It scared him, maybe even more than it scare you. Holding you near him he turned to his brother, as if Fili could read his mind he nodded , leaving you two to drown in each other, you needed to feel him as if you were trying to conviece your brain that he was here and alive.
Kili felt the same, and it was hard on him as much as it hard on you, but he let you touch him as you please, he let your cry your heart out, letting all the stress of the situation fall as tears. He didn't dare to speak or break you mental breakdown. He held you until you calmed down.
I wish I had a partner like him Hours later, you were sniffling, wiping what is left of tears on your cheeks. You were relieved, you felt as if a weight was left off your shoulders.
**************************************************************
You were sitting on his lap, arms crossed, and eyes closed as Kili's figure caressed your head, going through your hair untangling each knot carefully not disturbing your peace. You had exhausted yourself, and Kili wasn't happy about it, as much as he appreciated the effort you put into saving him, he wanted you to rest too.
Your hair had grown longer than his, which had given him an idea "Can I braid your hair?" he whispered in your ears his hot breath caused you to shoot your eyes open. Cheek growing red. You couldn't talk afraid of what may come out of your mouth, so you nodded.
He chuckled at your reaction, he was over joyed that he has the same effect you have on him, even if he never had showned.
You both were in your won world inware of the two pair of eyes watching you.
"Oh my god! Aren't they so cute!" so they whispered to each in pure aww at the both of you. If they haven't considered you a part of their family before, congratulation they now do! They are already planning a wedding, good luck leaving now!
**************************************************************
"You can go, please?" You had a bad feeling about the fight against Azog. You knew people are about to get hurt and die, and you won't be able to help all of them, but that didn't mean it hurt less and you wished that neither of your friends was among them. It brought guilt in you, and it was eating from the inside. If only you were more powerful, maybe then you would have healed all the soldiers.
"Don't worry, I will come back" He promised, kissing your head a last goodbye before joining in the fight leaving on edge, with tense shoulders.
So it was no surprise that moment later you were running after your lover future husband. You tried to search for him, yet you never were able to find him.
Unfortunately, when you finally found him, he was in the break of death, for the second time. Not only him but Thorin and Fili too, you can hear your heart shatter in your ears as you run ignoring all the shoots around you.
You knew that if you don't hurry, instead of preparing for a marriage you will be preparing for a funeral sooner than later.
Gathering your courage you sneaked past the enemy, hands already glowing, you knew you had less than thirty seconds to heal all of them before the enemy notice you.
"Please work" You begged as you felt the energy drain out of your body going to the three dwarves, and slowly the colour of their face was back, and in no time they were running back to the fight.
Healing one dwarf was hard enough, but three at the same time, was wow..
Blackspotss appeared in your vision, and you fought as much as you could the dizziness, yet you weren't able to stand for muchlongerr before you collapse on the ground. Before you could fully for into the abyss you heard your namebeingn called by the people you considered family, even before you and Kili become a thing. They were your family not by blood, but still family.
**************************************************************
"What happened?" You groan standing up. Your head felt heavy, and it hurt so much.
Have you been hit by truck-kun or something?
You look around as much as possible, with your eyes still close from sleep. The room looked fancy, elven style. It looked so much like the guest room, the Lord Elrond let you use.
Your turn left to see the window wide open. The sky was decorated by stars that shined too brightly for you. You sigh, how did you get here? Why were you here? Didn't you all leave months ago?
Wait a second...You checked the room again. Why can't you remember, what happened after you left the?
"Oh my God, you're awake!" You were about to snap at whoever was screaming, but stopped yourself when you saw who it was.
"Darling!" Kili come running your way, hugging you so tightly you found it hard to breath, yet you didn't push him away, as he cried.
Tears fell from his eyes like rain, you were sure you could feel the wetness on your shoulder. "shh" you tried to calm him down, but he just kept crying.
"I thought you died..I-I thought you were leaving me!" His confession confused you.
You were about to die?
"What?" You tried pushed aside, but he just cling to you, explaining to you what happened, and in conclusion, you drained your body, to the point where your heart almost stopped. You were sleeping for weeks, he blamed himself, over and over again. Until, the other Dwarf come in taking him off you, which you were grateful for. They explained the rest of what happened.
You healed them completely just like you did to Kili when he was poisoned, but as you did so, it exhausted your body and your heart almost stopped, the healers had to put you into a deep slumber (coma), so you can get rest without your boy shutting down.
They did give you a lecture about putting yourself in danger, but they were restful nonetheless, even Thorin the sour dwarf apologised for underestimating you.
"Let's get married!" Kili blur out as he sat on your bed, the other had left giving the boy a pointed look before closing the door.
It was now or never. Kili thought.
That caught you off guard.
"What?" You raised an eyebrow, "Let's get married now" You laughed but stopped when you noticed his seriousness. "Excuse me?" Your wide eyes obeserved him looking for any sort of emotions, but all you could see was that he was nervous.
"I realise how close to death we are..." He played with his fingers trying to ease his beating heart, he was sure you could hear it" I never thought about marriage, but that doesn't mean I never wanted a family...Actually, I always wanted a family...A partner that wait for me and with mini kids running around looking so joyful, but The woman never found interest in me, they always go for my uncle or for my brother, but I never lost hope, and I'm grateful for that" He turned to you with the brightest smile, pushing all the air out of your lungs.
Oh my god, he's so cute I wanna die, ugh!
"What I a trying to say is.." He took your cold hand in his giving them a brief squeeze, eyes nervously looking at you, as he kneeled on the ground, and you coudln't help but gasp.
Is he going to..? Your eyes widen, your hand blocking a gasp from escaping your mouth. He answered your silent question "(Y/N) (L/N) would you please make me the happiest man, and marry me?"
It took you three minutes, and ten seconds to finally registered what he said.
Oh my god, he finally just proposed!
You jumped in his arms. Oh, my god he finally proposed. It felt like a dream come through, which it was, but that was your secret. You loved Kili t a point where it was starting to hurt you physically and mentally. He made you unable to think of anything or anyone when he is around, and when he is not. Your brain and heart were obsessed with him.
"Yes!" You screamed in his ears making him wince before chuckling, he didn't hesitate to kiss, not like he ever was. It held all his and your emotions in it. The fear of losing each other, the happiness, the excitement everything.
Unfortunately, as things got heated up the Dwarf crashed in, congratulating you, Thorin and Bilbo stood at the door, one with a smile that for the first time since you meet him had reached his ears, while the other with an apologia one.
Those sneaky bastards were listening, and as much as you were disappointed and frustrated that things didn't go your way, you were still happy, chuckling as they congratulated you with a "Welcome to the family".
How can you be not when you were about to marry the man who stole your heart, not only that but now..now you had a family that will protect you with their life and you will do the same.
**************************************************************
Thorin had organized a feast for the success. All the dwarves were happily getting drunk. there were other creatures but you only recognised the elven, the Dwarves and the humans.
You were sitting with the company. By your left side Fili was sitting talking your ear off, you right that where you fiancé was sitting holdin your wraist slowly caressing the soft materiel of the dress you were wearing tonight.
You had especially worn it, and done your hair, even though you didn't have to. You wanted to look beautiful so that his eyes can only be one of you. thankfully, his eyes never left yours, he stared at you all night with hungry eyes, that you ignored, with the most satisfied grin smirk on your face.
As you were about to take a sip of your drink, Thorin raised his cup, getting everyone's attention. Your eyes were on him, but your mind was somewhere, that until he turned the cup in your direction" I want to thank especially (Y/N) who come running to our aid...If it weren't for you none of us will be sitting here celebrating" You held your head high raising your cup in his direction "celebrating the betrothal of my nephew to this amazing woman" You almost pitted, coughing your looked down embarrassed as everyone laughed at your silliness.
This is your life and you will not exchange it for anything.

Be careful what you wish for
Pairing: Thorin Oakenshield x female reader
Word count: 900
Warnings: sexual content (masturbating, clit rubbing)
Summary: You fantasize about Thorin while touching yourself. He finds you doing it and decides to give you what you want
---
You had been horny the whole day, feeling your swollen pussy demanding to be touched. In the afternoon you just couldn’t take it anymore. The ache between your thighs simply grew too disruptive. You needed to relieve yourself, you needed it really badly. You sneaked away at the earliest possible opportunity, went into your room, got rid of your pants and started touching yourself right away. Oh, how good it felt after waiting so long! You tried to be quiet, but moans escaped from your lips nonetheless. In your fantasies it was Thorin playing with your clit. Just the thought made you really wet, longing after it to happen for real.
You should have remembered that you have to be careful what you wish for.
Without a warning, Thorin opened the door. Your heart skipped a beat. You gasped and tried quickly to find something to cover yourself, but there was nothing you could get fast enough. You blushed hard. There you laid half-naked, your most private spot fully exposed and it wasn't difficult to deduce what you had been doing. You were so embarrassed of being caught and felt so vulnerable that you didn’t even know what to say or do. Thorin looked at you for a moment, but then he just closed the door behind him and smiled.
“Looks like someone’s a little horny”, Thorin said with a teasing tone.
“Ummm”, you mumbled. The red deepened on your cheeks.
Despite the embarrassment, you suddenly become even more aroused. Your fantasy was about to become reality. The thought made your pussy ache out of expectation of being touched. Your heart beat faster as he let his gaze wander all over your body until he finally looked into your eyes.
“I bet another person’s touch would feel better than your own”, Thorin commented with a deep, soft voice that made you shiver.
An ashamed smile strived on your lips, but you didn’t manage to answer before he walked to you and sat on the edge of the bed. The feeling of vulnerability eased when he came near you. You felt like you were no longer so exposed as when you were lying almost naked and he watched you at the door. Thorin kept his eyes on yours as put his hand on your thigh and slowly slid it upwards, closer to your heat and then down again. You flinched at the touch, but a sigh of pleasure followed it right after.
“No, this is inappropriate. I should probably stop”, he said without sounding like he’d mean it, but was about to move his hand away.
“No!” You whined before you could stop yourself. You knew he was just teasing, but the word had already slipped from your lips and you didn’t want him to break the contact.
“So, you do prefer my touch over yours?”
“Yeah”, you breathed out, feeling your cheeks burning, surprised that you dared to admit it.
“In that case, you probably won't mind if I do… this”, Thorin murmured as his fingers found their way between your legs and reached your most sensitive spot. He slid his finger softly over it, sending sparks up your nerves and making you moan.
“Oh, that seemed to feel good”, he smiled.
“Uh-huh”, you mumbled affirmatively, opening your legs more to signal him you wanted him to touch you.
Thorin understood the clue and started slowly to rub your pussy. He was right, his touch felt so much better than your own. You moaned as he caressed you, his fingers playing with your clit and occasionally slid in your entrance to spread your moisture over your pussy. His every touch was so pleasant it almost made you tremble.
“You’re so sexy”, Thorin whispered, getting only a soft whine as an answer. “I’ve been eyeing you for a while now, imaging what your body looks like without clothes and how it would feel like to touch you”, he kept telling you with the same smooth, arousing voice tone.
You couldn’t help but feel pleased to know he was interested in you. You never told him about any of your feelings or desires for him out of fear of being rejected, but apparently you could have told him right away. You thought he couldn’t care less about you, but you were completely wrong.
You could feel that you were getting closer to orgasm, the tension starting to build in your stomach. Your breaths became heavier, you squeezed the beddings in your fists and you squirmed in pleasure. The constant, unrelenting stimulation made you lose all ability to rational thinking. You surrendered to his touch, as if you had a choice. Then, after a moment, the orgasm rushed over you, spreading the warm waves of satisfaction all over your body. Your pussy pulsated intensely, making you cry out of pleasure.
“Hmm, there you go, darling”, Thorin groaned while watching you at the peak of your pleasure.
The dwarf  slid his fingers gently over your pussy until the orgasm passed. You lied on your back, eyes closed, exhausted and relaxed. He gave you a kiss on your forehead and whispered how amazing you are and how you should have let him know earlier about your wishes. You knew he was right. You definitely should have done just that.

Better Days ~ Chapter Nine
A/N: This is the follow up to Playing With Fire, but can be read as a standalone. I thought Frerin deserved a nice, steamy romp just like his older brother got with Leda, so this is his story. I know I’ve got like three other fics to update, but I thought maybe I’d throw this out there and see what everyone thought of it…
Summary: Frerin Durin had the perfect life, until he found out his wife was cheating on him. Now, he’s navigating uncharted territory as an about-to-be divorced single dad. Dating is a mess, he’s dealing with the fallout where his kids are concerned, and really, he would just love a vacation away from all of it.
Elena Madison is new to Sidleburg, and also navigating life as a newly single parent. The last thing she needed was for her daughter to come down sick, when she hasn’t even had time to unpack the moving boxes, never mind find a pediatrician. And the last thing she ever expected was to meet a man like Dr. Frerin Durin…
Neither Elena nor Frerin were looking for anything, but fate has a way of messing up even the best laid plans. However, both have been hurt and both aren't at all sure they trust themselves, never mind trusting someone else...

Elena felt a pang of disappointment when she stepped onto the gym floor and saw what seemed like everyone in the world but Frerin there. Oh, well. It wasn't like they had a gym date. Besides, he worked nights. He had to be exhausted come six AM, so if he decided to go home and get some sleep, who could blame him?
Still, the disappointment was there and there was no denying. The best she could do was try to ignore it as she moved to the row of flat benches to claim one, setting her bag down beside the last empty one. Chest day was her worst, as it seemed if she missed a single workout, it sent her right back to the beginning, all progress lost.
She wiped down the bench and when it dried, settled to warm up with just the bar. She had been up to one hundred and twenty-five before she and Alyssa moved to Sidleburg, and as she placed the plates on the bar, she offered up a silent prayer she could still push that much weight.
After chalking her hands and lying flat, Elena gripped the bar and carefully lifted it from its rests. A little tough, but nothing she couldn’t handle, although by tenth rep, her arms were shaky. One-thirty was only slightly more difficult.
She realized halfway through her set of one-thirty-five that she’d made a terrible mistake as her arms trembled and the muscles screamed at her in protest. Gritting her teeth, she struggled to get the bar back up, a call for help bubbling to her lips.
“I’ve got you,” came a familiar voice and Frerin’s hands appeared between hers to grip the bar and he helped her guide it back to its rests. “You okay?”
Heat flooded her, but this time there was nothing pleasant about it. No, it was the scalding blush of abject embarrassment. She knew better. She definitely knew better. “I’m fine,” she managed, swallowing hard against the idiocy flowing through her. “I was a little too confident, I guess.”
“It happens. I almost dropped a bar on my face last week trying to push myself. That weird grunter guy saved my ass, believe it or not.”
“Grunty?”
“That’s the one.”
She sat up with a wince, rubbing just below her collarbone, where the muscle burned some. “You’re lucky he didn't drop it on you. I’m convinced he’s more show than actual muscle.”
“He’s lucky he didn't drop it on me.” He dropped his bag beside hers. “And I’m sorry I’m late. My ex-wife was supposed to be at the house by ten, but didn't get there until almost ten-thirty.”
“It’s fine. It’s not like we had a date.”
“Yeah, but I said I’d be here and I try to keep my word.” He crouched before her. “Are you sure you’re okay?”
“Yeah, I just feel stupid. I know better than to lift my usual when I’ve taken time off. I should’ve had a spotter.”
“Yeah, you should’ve.” He smiled. “But, you’re okay and that’s the important thing.”
She looked around at the bodies crowding the floor. “These are not my gym people. I wouldn’t trust any of them.”
“Didn’t you say that about the other gym people as well?”
“Yeah. They’re all weirdos here.” She reached for her water bottle. “Did she give you a hard time?”
“Toni?” He shook his head. “No more than usual. She can’t quite understand why I don't want her just walking into my house.”
“Is it your house?”
“Damn straight it is. I bought her out last summer. I figured it was easier than waiting for a judge to order that we sell it and split the proceeds and have to uproot the kids and move.” He crouched to unzip the bag. “But, she still thinks of it as her house. Gets highly insulted that I won’t let her treat it that way any longer.”
She watched him rummage through the bag, and wondered if she should ask the question hovering on her lips. But, nothing ventured, so… “When will your divorce be finalized?”
“I have no idea. It depends on how much fighting we do, I guess. I told you she’s trying to get custody of the kids, didn't I?”
She nodded. “Yeah, but they don't want to live with her.”
“Right and you really don't want to hear all the grimy details about my divorce, do you?”
“Frerin, it’s okay. I wouldn’t ask if I didn't want to know.”
He sighed softly, raking a hand through his hair. “It just seems like something that would make you run like hell in the other direction, hearing me go on like a bitter broken record.”
“So, let’s talk about something else.”
“Like what?”
“Like…” She rose from the bench. “You showing me how you hulk out when you’re of the right mindset.”
He smiled then, and she could almost see his spirits lift. “I just did chest the other day, remember.”
“Frerin, that was Tuesday. You should be beyond recovered from then by now.”
“I should be, but I’m old and I don't bounce back the way I used to, you know.”
“Please. Somehow, I really doubt that’s true.”
“Spot me.” He winked. “Just in case.”
“Brave man.”
“Yeah. Balls run in my family.”
She moved around to the head of the bench to get out of his way as he added a more forty-five pound plates, and a ten-pound plate to each side. He sank onto the bench, then bent to rummage through his bag once more, coming up with black and red wrist wraps. Velcro crackled as he unrolled them, then wrapped each wrist, and then he stretched out on his back and wrapped his hands about the bar.
The bar clanked softly as he slowly lifted it and while she didn't think he’d need her help, she made sure her hands were at the ready all the while trying like hell not to notice the way his black, long-sleeved workout top clung to the muscles he worked. Tried like hell not to notice how huge his hands were, or how thick his fingers were.
Tried like hell not to notice how hot he was or how much she enjoyed fooling around with him on the sofa the other night.
Tried like hell not to think about what having sex with him would be like.
That was the most difficult of to not think about because it was pretty much all she could think about. It had been a long time since she’d been attracted to any man, and the attraction she felt for him was far more powerful than any she remembered.
But, she managed to hide it.
At least, she hoped she did.
He lowered the bar to his chest, then pushed it back up with almost no effort. But by the tenth rep, a hint of tiredness wove into his exhale and he let out a heavy breath as he set the bar back on its rests. “I’m getting too old to work overnights,” he groaned, maneuvering out from beneath the bar.
He sat up and rubbed his eyes with one hand. Elena crouched alongside him. “If you’re tired, go home and get some sleep. You have a nice quiet house, take advantage of it.”
“I won’t be able to sleep just yet. Still too keyed up from work.”
“Rough night?”
“Not really.” He reached for his water and unscrewed the cap, then brought it to his lips for a long swallow. “I only had two kids. One got bitten by his kid sister and the other learned the hard way why jumping off the top bunk is a bad idea. Other than that,” he recapped the bottle to set on the floor, “I was dealing with adults all night. The ER was a zoo and like every other department in that hospital, they’re short-staffed.”
“So you take one for the team.”
He nodded. “I take one for the team. And you know, I’d rather deal with kids. Adults kind of suck.”
She couldn't help her chuckle. “That depends on your point of view. I had to listen to four classes of seventh graders piss and moan over having to write five pages during break.”
“Wow, what a bitch Mrs. Madison is.”
“Right?”
He stood then. “What weight do you want?”
“I think I’m done with bench presses. That last one actually kind of hurt.”
“Yeah? You want me to take a look? I am a doctor, you know.”
“Playing doctor here would be a bad idea,” she said without thinking.
“Somewhere else would be a good one, though.”
“It might be.” She smiled up at him and nudged him gently in the ribs. “But, I think I’m okay so down, boy.”
He grinned and without warning, bent to kiss her. It was a brief, light kiss, and when he drew back, he said, “I’ve been thinking about that since I left your place the other night.”
She smiled, her belly alive with butterflies at the look in his pale blue eyes. “Of course you were.”
“No, really, I have been.” He moved to add a five pound plate to the near end of the bar, then went around to the opposite side. “I like the way you kiss.”
“Well, there’s something I don't think I’ve ever heard.”
“Yeah?” He slid the second five pound plate into place. “Well, I do.”
He came back around to where she stood and smiled down at her. “Spot for me again?”
She looked at the weights. “All that is standing between you and death by being squished, is me. Are you sure about this?”
“Yeah, I’m sure. You’ll be fine.”
“You’re a brave man, Dr. Durin.”
He stretched back out on the bench, looked up at her, and winked, then curled his fingers about the bar once more. Ten reps, a little wobbly at the end, five more pounds put on. Little by little, the gym began to fill up and a step class started up. The instructor propped open both classroom doors, so the techno music drowned out all sound.
Frerin sat up and twisted toward the classroom. “Is that woman deaf? The floor is vibrating.”
He wasn't wrong. The weights on their rests moved from the vibration of the music and shaking her head, Elena said, “I can’t even hear myself think.”
“You want to go somewhere a little quieter?”
She smiled. “Are you asking me out again?”
“Yeah. Let’s go get a cup of coffee of something. This is bullshit.”
“I’m not exactly dressed for it.”
“Me, neither, and I don't look half as good as you do.”
“Uh, I’m a train wreck.”
“Nah.” He moved to tug the weights off the far end of the bar. “You’re a hot mess, which is better than a train wreck.”
“Is that so?” She grabbed the plates off the other end of the bar.
“Oh, yeah.” He nodded before turning to cross over to the wipes dispenser, where he grabbed two antiseptic wipes to bring back, and then proceeded to wipe down the bench and the bar. “So, what do you say?”
“Sure.”
“Great.” He smiled and moved back to crouch by his bag. He zipped it, stood, slung the strap over his shoulder and gestured toward the stairs. “After you.”
She picked up her bag and headed to the stairs and when they were at street level, said, “So, where should I meet you?”
“I can drive us both and we come back for your car.”
“Are you sure? I don't want to make you have to come all the way back.”
“Yeah, I’m sure.” He smiled. “I’m the Infiniti in the corner.”
He pointed to a silver QX50 parked somewhat off-kilter in between a Camry and an Elantra and as the rain fell harder, his hand came to rest at the small of her back. “Shall we?”
“Sure.” She let him hurry her toward the car, which he unlocked with the fob in one hand. When they reached it, he moved around her to tug open the passenger door and as she sank into the dark gray leather seat, he closed the door behind her.
The rear door opened and he tossed his bag onto the back seat, slammed that door, then climbed into the drive’s seat and hit the ignition button to turn over the engine. “We’re going to get looks, you know,” she said as he set the defroster on high and kicked on the rear defroster as well.
“Probably. But what are the odds we will ever see any of them ever again?”
She smiled as she sat back. “True. I just hope I don't smell.”
He looked over at her, one hand resting at the top of the steering wheel. “You didn't in there,” he said, nodding toward the gym building. “I think you’re safe. But,” he let out a slow exhale, “if you’d rather not go, you can just say so, you know. I’m a big boy. I can handle rejection.”
“If I didn't want to go, I wouldn’t have said yes,” she told him softly.
He leaned over then and as his lips met hers, she slid one hand along his neck, her fingers stretching up into his hair. His lips moved gently against hers and she parted them, his tongue soft and teasing as it swept along hers.
The car’s interior seemed to warm quickly, and when he drew back, she saw the windows had actually steamed up a little, which made her smile. “I have fogged a car’s widows in a long time.”
“Yeah, me, neither,” he said with a breathless laugh. “And we should probably go if we’re going before someone calls the cops on us.”
She sat back. “Probably a good idea.”
He winked and eased the transmission into reverse to back out of the spot, shifted into drive, and maneuvered out of the parking lot, out onto Route Seven. Rain pattered the windshield, but the wipers made almost no sound as they swept back and forth to clear it.
“I’m amazed that you’re so awake,” she told him.
“I’m used to working overnights,” he told her, his hand resting on the gearshift, his long fingers relaxed over the knob. “And it’s better if I push through until nine or ten in the morning, then get some sleep.”
“It’s almost elven-thirty. Are you working tonight?”
“Six, yeah. I’ll be fine. I’ll go home and get a few hours’ sleep and hope it’s quiet tonight.”
“What if it isn’t?”
“Coffee becomes my best friend.”
“Frerin.”
“What? It does.”
“Isn’t that dangerous?”
“I’ll be fine, my patients will be fine. My nights are usually quiet.”
She shook her head. “Still, this could’ve waited.”
“Yeah,” he bobbed his head, “it could’ve, but I wanted to see you.”
Those words sent a delicious flutter through her, one she hadn’t felt probably since high school. “I would have understood.”
His hand rose from the shift and came to rest atop hers, and he linked his fingers with hers. “I didn't want to wait another day if I didn’t have to.”
As he spoke, those fingers tightened and his thumb brushed along the outside of her hand to send another rush through her. “Again, I’d have understood.”
He glanced over at her and grinned. “Am I pulling you away from anything?”
“Not at all. Alyssa is getting cranky—she just wants to get back to her life, so I’m glad to get out of the house for a little while.”
“What’re the two of you doing for Christmas?”
“Christmas?” She sighed softly. “We’ll do Christmas morning, then I’m taking her to Newark to catch a one o’clock flight to Florida.”
“Florida? Her dad?”
“Close. Her grandparents. She’ll spend the break with them and come home on New Year’s Day. What about you?”
“They’ll go to their mother’s on Christmas and be home the day after.”
“So, you’ll be alone on Christmas, too?”
He nodded. “Yeah, I’ll probably go over to my brother’s for the day. It’s the twins’ first Christmas and our sister and her boys will be there as well.”
“That sounds like a lovely way to spend the holiday.”
He glanced over at her. “Noisy, is what it will be. Between Fíli and Kíli and six month old babies? I’m going to make it a short stay.”
The traffic light at Seven and Harper Street turned yellow, so Frerin slowed and as he did, the pager in the console began buzzing. He snagged it, glaring at the readout. “It’s the hospital. I have to answer this.”
“I get it. It’s okay.”
He pulled off into a parking lot and took his cell phone from the clip on the dashboard. “It’s Dr. Durin, someone paged me?”
He glanced over at her and nodded. “Yeah, she came through the ER around midnight. They were waiting for a bed to open up in Ortho and she was supposed to go up then.” A pause. “Are you kidding me? She’s still there? Okay, who’s on for the Ortho—no, you know what, never mind. I’ll be there in a few minutes.”
He hung up and slapped the phone back onto the clip. “I have to swing by the hospital. Remember the kid I told you about who jumped off the top bunk?”
“Yeah.”
“She’s still in the ER waiting on Ortho, so I’m going to go in and yell at whoever is on for making a ten year old sit in the ER all night on a leg that needs surgical repair. I can run you back to your car if you don’t feel like hanging around.”
“No, it’s fine.” She smiled. “I kind of want to see you in your element, when my kid is not the patient.”
He signaled and carefully pulled back into to traffic and a a few minutes later, he was pulling into the physician’s parking area of the lot. “Hopefully this won’t take too long.”
She climbed out of the Infiniti. “Don’t worry about it. It takes as long as it takes. I don't mind waiting.”
He pushed the door shut and she fell into step alongside him. “Now, you run the Pediatrics Department, right?”
“That’s right.”
“So, why are you in the ER?”
“We, like everyone else in the world, are short staffed. Too much burnout and not enough docs, so I’ve been covering when I can, like everyone else here.”
“That sounds exhausting.”
“It is. I mean, you get used to it, but that doesn’t necessarily make it easier.”
Elena braced herself for the icy rain as they emerged from the deck to the narrow roadway where ambulances and cars could pull up right to the ER’s doors, and turned her head to the side as the wind swept the droplets harder against her.
The doors opened automatically and Elena scuffed her feet across the mats to dry the soles of her shoes so she wouldn’t slip and as the inner doors opened, Frerin caught her by the hand, explaining, “So I don’t lose you.”
He wasn't kidding. The ER was a madhouse, far busier than it was the night she’d brought Alyssa in. They passed through the ER waiting area, which was almost out of seats, it was so crowded, and at the doors, Frerin tugged his ID from his jacket pocket to swipe it, and as the doors opened, he said, “Carol, who’s on for Ortho this morning?”
A petite blonde looked up from her notes, her forehead creasing. “Frerin, what are you doing back?”
“Ashley paged me about Hailey Miller. She’s still down here?”
Carol nodded. “Yeah, her mother’s been hounding us about getting her moved, but we have to wait for the consult and no one’s come down yet. It always gets like this when Harris is away and she’s in Maui until after the New Year.”
“Of course she is.”
“Frerin,” another nurse in cranberry stepped away from the radio, “Thirty-Seven is bringing in the victims of a two car collision out on Seven.”
“How many?”
“Five. Two are being airlifted to Robert Wood in New Brunswick, but the other three are on their way here and will be rolling up at any minute.”
“Wonderful.” Frerin clipped his ID to his tee shirt. “Do me a favor and find out who’s on in Ortho and tell them I want a word with them now.”
He looked back atCarol. “This is Elena Madison, would you mind showing her to the lounge while I go and find out what’s going on up there?”
“Not at all.” Carol smiled. “Come with—”
Before she could get the rest of the words out, the double doors leading from the waiting room slammed open and paramedics rushed in. “Seventeen year old driver of two-car MVA with crush injuries to lower extremities, BP is—”
Elena jumped out of the way as they hurried by her and just before he crossed into the exam room, Frerin looked over his shoulder at her. “I’ll be out when I can, Elena.”
“It’s okay!” She looked over at Carol. “Just point me in the right direction. They probably need you in there.”
Carol nodded. “Down around the corner, first door on your right.”
And with that, she was gone as well as more paramedics rolled up. From where she stood, Elena could see Frerin in the sage green tiled room, stethoscope in his ears, his attention on the injured kid on his table.
“Look out!”
She jumped aside once more, her, “I’m sorry,” lost in the clatter and whir of metal wheels. Since she didn't want to get hit again, or be in anyone’s way, she hurried down to the lounge and pushed open the door.
A willowy brunette was making coffee and turned as Elena came into the room. “Patients aren’t supposed to be back here. Is there something I can help you with?”
“Oh, I’m not a patient. I’m here with Dr. Durin.”
The brunette’s already wide dark eyes widened further. “Really? He’s not on right now as far as I know.”
“He isn’t, someone paged him about a patient and he came back just in time for the car accident to come in. I’m just waiting for him.”
“Oh. Okay. He knows you’re here?”
“I came with him, so yes, he does.”
“Okay. Then, I guess make yourself comfortable and if you’d like some coffee, there’s milk and half and half in the fridge.”
“Thank you.”
The nurse smiled and finished setting the coffeepot before going back out onto the floor. It was far quieter in the lounge than on the floor and Elena sighed softly as she sank onto the cracked leatherette sofa along the far wall.

Forged in Fire, Ch 2
Summary: Its the morning after the explosion that destroyed the firehouse and Thorin decides there's more than one explosion that needs to be accounted for.
Tumblr media
She was working a double, technically. A dreadful double broken up by a two hour nap on her apartment couch, knowing full well that if she'd slept in her bed she'd never be able to pull herself out of it. Still, she doubted Thorin was sleeping soundly, so she shouldn't either. It was a strange thought, thinking about a man she'd only known of peripherally before that morning. Now he occupied her thoughts as if it was his job.
Part of that was because she was thinking about him, and part of it was because Detective Skywalker kept texting her about how annoying the fire chief was. Padmé rolled her eyes. She was sure he wasn't that bad. Ani was just bad with authority figures who actually acted like authority figures, and at his core, Thorin exuded authority. There was a difference, though, between Thorin and the authority figures at the police department. Thorin was young. Every ounce of respect was earned, not given. Not like Police Chief Yoda who had simply been there the longest.
Tell him to meet me at the crime lab in 30, she texted Ani.
Do you want me to rescue you? I can send him to the wrong one, he replied.
Unlike some people, I don't quite have an issue with authority.
That's because you ARE authority ;p
Padmé blushed, shoving her phone in her purse. Ani always made her feel giddy, kind of like a school girl. Then again, she used to hang out with him when she was younger the summer she'd come to stay with some family and he was just turning ten. He'd been a cute kid then, and he'd grown into an even more handsome man. She tugged on her purple blazer and slung her bag over her shoulder. It was nice out this morning and she hoped the fresh air would wake her up a bit more than the coffee Sabé had given her did. Her heels clicked along the sidewalk as she walked down Main Street. The bus was early, and she just made it on before it pulled away.
The bus was Padmé's secret haven. No one knew who she was on the bus, and everyone on the bus was wonderfully weird. There was the man talking into his sleeve towards the back. The teenager popping ridiculously large bubbles on his nose two rows back. There was the woman with the ugliest poodle in a bag across the aisle. And then there was Padmé, admiring them all and reminding herself that they were the reason she got into her field, to protect them. To find justice for them. To make sure bad things didn't keep happening.
Her stop was approaching, so she stood, her hand clasping around one of the bars suspended from the ceiling. Regardless of how hard she prepared for it, she could never quite keep her balance as the bus stopped.
Ahead of her, the police department loomed. She hated going through the front. She'd make it two feet before getting stopped by everyone trying to curry favor with her and get their cases worked faster. As if the crime lab wasn't already understaffed and underfunded as it was. No, she wasn't dealing with that today. Hiking her purse up further on her shoulder, she rounded the back of the building to the morgue entrance. JarJar was odd, but he was more bearable than the others. Even if he was always injuring himself around the lab. What Padmé wasn't expecting to see back there, though, was a certain fire chief waiting by the back door, two cups in his hand.
He'd showered. That much was evident. He smelled less like acrid smoke and more like balsam and cedar. Like the woods Padmé used to walk in as a child. His hair was pulled into various braids, looking more put together than when she'd seen him earlier.
"Amidala," he said, straightening as soon as he caught sight of her.
"Chief Oakenshield," Padmé said, her brow furrowing. "I hope you haven't been waiting long. I was sure we weren't supposed to meet for another twenty minutes."
"Oh, no, not at all," he said, offering her a cup. He hesitated. "I wasn't sure what you'd drink, but I hope this is okay."
"Bribery will not get your scene processed faster," Padmé said, taking the drink.
"It's more of a peace offering," Thorin admitted. "I had... a rough night and I happened to take it out on you. My nephews told me I have to be better about my temper."
She took a sip, shocked when the liquid coated her tongue. It wasn't what she was expecting. He'd gotten her a gingerbread dirty chai latte. It was so good. The spices were warming and the espresso had enough of a zing that she could already feel the caffeine pumping through her veins. Or maybe that was just the sugar high talking. Either way, she wasn't complaining.
He waited patiently for her verdict, an eyebrow raised.
"Peace offering accepted," she told him, taking a moment to look at the cup. "Where did you get this from?"
"A friend owns a coffee shop book store combo," he said with a shrug.
"It's very good," she said, badging into the back door and holding it open for him.
He followed her through the lab towards her office. He looked around the lab curiously, watching the various experiments with fascination. For a smaller lab, it was busy. He'd dodged out of the way on a handful of occasions as Rabé rushed around gathering supplies for whatever she was trying to simulate. Padmé gently guided the fire chief into her office. Her desk was a hot mess, she realized with a cringe. She placed her drink on the one clear corner and worked to quickly organize all the files open across the desk.
Thorin took no notice of it, instead looking at the various degrees and awards on the wall. "You're quite accomplished."
Padmé shrugged. "I've been given a lot of opportunities in life. I've been very fortunate." Once her desk was clear, she sat down and logged into her computer.
"Amidala--"
"Padmé," she corrected. "If you're going to be working with me closely, please call me Padmé."
He rubbed the side of his cup with his thumb, a little unsure of himself. "Padmé... I see that you're hurting for help. Perhaps I could assist more with the investigation? Science was once of my favorite subjects in school, although I was mostly fascinated by the lectures on combustion-"
"That's not necessary."
Thorin's fist curled at his side. "I don't think you understand what the impact that explosion was."
"Oh, but I do," she replied. "You're too close to it to be objective. No, I called you here to inform you that I've already sent an email to Legolas to help. I was hoping you'd give me a list of potential suspects."
"Legolas?!" He raised his voice. Padmé raised her brow at him and he took a deep breath, trying again in a normal volume. "Padmé, these are my people. That was my home. I will be the one to solve this and bring us back."
"I believe the term you're looking for is conflict of interest," she shot back.
"And what of the bribe?"
"Oh so it was a bribe."
"You are the most frustrating woman."
"That is not the first time I've been told that, and I doubt it will be the last."
"I will be on this case."
"Well I don't know who you're going to talk to about it, but you won't get any farther with me."
"Unbelievable," he muttered, turning to leave.
"Should you feel the need for a peace offering for this outburst, this drink would suffice. I expect an email of potential suspects by tomorrow," she said with a smirk, watching him leave. Part of her felt a little bad about riling him up, but it was so easy, and he had done the same thing to her earlier. Still... that blue fire in his eyes had gripped her chest and held her in place. She'd almost wanted to give in just to spend more time with him. Almost.

I decided to try out @fellowshipofthefics new trope wheel! I spun Criminal AU & Locked in a Room
**
Bilbo could not believe his luck.
Or rather, the lack thereof said luck.
Honestly, it was a toss up, when Bilbo considered the situation that he was currently in. His eyes followed the movements of the other man as he stalked around the room. Thorin Durinsson, heir to the Durinsson family fortune and, as such, the Arkenstone diamond that supposedly lay somewhere deep in the family vaults.
Thorin was a strikingly handsome man. Bilbo had noticed that from the moment he had seen the man’s picture in the file that Smaug had handed him. His features were extenuated by the sharpness of his jaw and cheekbones, and the sharp, long nose that drew the eye almost instantly. Despite that, though, the man had a very severe look to him. His blue eyes were pretty, but somewhat cold, if Bilbo had to put a word to it. Once upon a time, Bilbo Baggins had been an aspiring author, and he had retained that desire for flowery words, even now.
His gaze continued following Thorin as the man turned back to the door and... kicked it.
Bilbo could not help but stifle a laugh into his hand as the man hissed, withdrawing from the offending door.
“You find that funny?” He said, whipping towards Bilbo with a scowl.
“Do you really think kicking the door would have any results?” Bilbo asked, raising a brow.
“At least I’m trying to do something!”
“Hm,” Bilbo maintained his expression of slight disinterest, crossing his legs. He had taken to a seat as soon as he realized the door would not budge.
No point, in trying to open it. If Thorin knew who he was, he might have been more worried about trying to get out of the room, but as far as the heir was concerned, Bilbo was nothing more than a guest of someone or other at the gala.
“Besides,” Bilbo added. “Surely someone will come looking for you, sooner than later, Mr. Durinsson.”
Thorin scowled.
“I am not some damsel in distress.”
“Clearly,” Bilbo remarked, grinning. He let his eyes wander over the man, enough that Thorin would have to notice the way he did so.
He did. A blush appeared to be blooming across the man’s cheeks, and, from the peek of his ears through his hair, across them too.
They were the only two locked in this library, which Bilbo felt was more and more to his benefit. Perhaps Smaug had had someone else here, as well, and they had facilitated a way for Bilbo to be able to corner Thorin without it being outwardly suspicious. No one could blame him for striking up conversation with the only other person he was stuck in a library with. And if it happened to reveal more information about the location of the Arkenstone diamond, or the family vaults, or really, anything of interest when it came to that... Well it would be a fortunate stroke of luck for Bilbo Baggins.
According to intel, Thorin was notoriously tight-lipped and did not often converse with strangers.
“What did you say your name was?”
“I didn’t,” Bilbo said, smiling as he stood up. He was a good head shorter than Thorin, so he had to look up at the man regardless. “Bilbo Baggins.”
“Well, you already know who I am...”
“Hard to not know that.”
Thorin studied him for a moment. “I don’t remember seeing your name on the guest list.”
“Probably not,” Bilbo said, casually. He had moved to a table, picking up one of the books on it. His fingers traced the outline of the title slowly. He didn’t have to look to know there was a trace of panic upon Thorin’s face. “I am here as a plus one, I didn’t sneak in, Mr. Durinsson.”
He glanced towards the man, pleased to see the subtle sign of the man relaxing. “I see. And where is your date?”
“I imagine anywhere else than locked in a library, as it is only the two of us in here, isn’t it?”
Thorin’s lips twitched, as if he were fighting off a smile.
Something funny warmed in Bilbo’s stomach and his eyes dropped back down to studying the book, feigning interest. That was not good. This man had something that his boss wanted very much, and if Bilbo failed... it wouldn’t be good news for him.
He wasn’t supposed to be wondering if this was the right course of action.

Which member is more physically affectionate?
Which member is more verbally affectionate?
Hey!!! =D I'm gonna assume you're asking about Thorinduil? Since that's all I've been writing these days... Here's hoping I'm right!
Which member is more physically affectionate?
Thorin. Despite a lot of headcanons I have surrounding Thranduil and his elves (specifically that they share a common love language of care-taking: as in, them doing each other's hair, helping each other dress, cleaning each other's weapons, feeding or cooking for each other, etc. is how they say I love you [which, of course, has HUGE implications for Thranduil becoming closed off after his wife's death and the rather obvious distance it's put between him and Legolas; I do believe that they have moments where Duil does Las' braids for him and perhaps even allows Las to clean his sword as he cleans his son's bow/daggers, but Las' drive to prove himself worthy of his title and status as son and prince to Thranduil and Greenwood/Mirkwood/Lasgalen coupled with Duil's self-esteem issues regarding his inability to protect anyone during the fall of Doriath {even if he was a kid then}, his father in LA, his wife, his people when they go to war, his KINGDOM from Sauron in Dol Guldur or the spiders or orcs or whatever else makes it hard for them both to accept these signs of love from each other so it's rare]), and the fact that they're both introverts when Duil's not partying, Thorin seems far more comfortable touching others than Duil and would probably surprise him a lot during their first year or so together with increasingly frequent and easy forehead presses and hair braiding and kisses to various body parts because Duil blushes over that stuff a lot and Thorin likes it because it's cute and he glows (think that time he literally glowed as Dain insulted him in BotFA but it's not because he's angry but because he's swooning over Thorin).
Which member is more verbally affectionate?
Thranduil. While physical affection is easier for Thorin, and recently harder for Duil, verbalizing love has always been easy for our elf; but, of course, only in the form of things like affectionate insults, teasing, banter, and--his personal favorite--mildly offensive nicknames. Ironically, much like how Thorin enjoys flustering Duil with kisses and other physical displays of affection, Duil enjoys flustering (or just pissing off) Thorin with his verbal displays of affection--especially name calling--especially to the point of anger (and other things~). Duil's favorite things to call Thorin, at this point, are: Blunt Boulder, Tiny Thunder, Mini Mountain, Fairy Fancier (which is actually him insulting himself and usually a signal to Thorin that he needs a hug and that he should go have a stern talking to with Dain yet again), Light of My Heart, Truest Trinket, Rough/Rude Root, Tough Trunk.
Anyway! Yea! Here's hoping, again, that I got the pairing right xD;;; Sorry as well for all the headcanon dumping: just wanted to explain why I think what I do and maybe got a bit excited... But hey! This was fun! =D Thanks for the ask!
Until next time~ All my love!

Imagine: Bees’ fear
How would Thorin, Fíli, Kíli, Bilbo, Dwalin, Ori react if they found out you were afraid of bees?
Note 1: I’m not an English native speaker so there are probably mistakes. Note 2: It’s the first time I wrote with Dwalin and Ori, I hope it’ll be alright!
Tumblr media
Thorin
You tried to hide your fear of bees during the whole quest. Thinking nobody could realise it, you were pretty proud of you, and to your surprise, there weren't as many bees in Middle-earth as you thought. After the Shire, you never saw one. Your meals and your walking were so peaceful that it was strange, but you were thinking the other lands may be not conducive to their development.
The thing you didn't know was that Thorin always made sure to put himself between you and a bee as soon as he saw one, or to push you slightly away from it without you realising it. He still remembered when he had discovered your fear of those tiny animals: you had closed your eyes tightly as you had remained motionless, waiting for it to disappear at some point.
He never said anything about this. Until Beorn’s house. The house with a lot of animals and giant bees.
If Thorin already heard you yelling because of goblins or orcs, it was nothing compared to the cry you made when you woke up alone with a giant bee above you. Between its size, your waking, and the unknown place, your (stupid) instinct, you couldn’t help but yell.
The surprise continued with the sudden arrival of Thorin, almost breathless, in the room. The giant bee left the room, more scared than you.
Your scared eyes, shining with contained tears, stopped him from thinking. He just ran to you and took you in his arms. His chest was hard like a rock, but his warm coat and his scent calmed you immediately. Your heart took a few minutes to calm down, until you realised you were in Thorin’s arms.
“I-I’m sorry, I overreacted! I’m okay, i-it surprised me…” you said as you placed your hands on his chest, trying to push him because of your embarrassment.
“It’s okay to be afraid,” he said in a calm voice as he stroked your back. “From now, I will be with you when you wake up. Nothing will scare you.”
From that moment, Thorin got into the habit of sleeping next to you. Even in Mirkwood, even in Laketown, even in Erebor.
Tumblr media
Fíli
Even though you know the benefit of bees for the environment – and for honey, you couldn't help but be tense when one of them was flying near you. And of course, they were everywhere in Middle-earth!
“They may often be around you because you smell as good as a flower,” Fíli said one day when you were alone with him in a forest as the sun started to set.
Thorin had asked for you and Fíli to bring kindling for Gloín’s fire, so you were both alone in the middle of a forest. No Thorin for ordering something, no Kíli for making jokes, or no Bombur asking for help for preparing dinner.
You couldn’t help but stop your moves when your cheeks stupidly blushed at his sentence. As you had your back to him, you tried to stay insensitive, not wanting to misunderstand what he said.
Staying insensitive is easy when there are no bees around you, but when a tiny one flew next to you, you couldn’t help but say Fíli’s name in an imploring tone, remaining motionless. With a few slow steps, he joined you and pushed the bee away. After a shy “Thank you”, you continued to search for kindling.
During the whole quest, you developed the habit of calling Fíli each time a bee was coming close to you. His help was so often that the other made fun of you sometimes, imitating your imploring voice. You let them do it since they were right. You weren’t proud of yourself, but he never complained, always walking quickly to you and saving you from the tiny thing.
One night, you were both on watch duty as you were sitting next to each other, whispering while everyone else slept. The moon was high in a sky without clouds and a light wind was blowing in the trees. A perfect quiet night.
“Can I ask you something?” you eventually asked as you smiled at him after a long discussion about an anecdote of his brother.
“Yes, you can. Anything you want,” he replied with a smile, making the braids of his moustache dance.
“Why do you never complain when I call you as soon as a bee approaches me? I must call you at least once a day,” you said as you looked at his smile widened.
“Because I love when you call my name in an imploring tone,” he simply replied without looking away, obviously proud of the effect his answer had on you.
Tumblr media
Kíli
The first time Kíli saw you being afraid of bees it was in the Shire. They were everywhere! On each flower, on each tree, on each step you have taken! It was at the very beginning of the quest. Just a little cry of surprise – alright ‘of fear’, when a bee approached you as you were on your pony. You almost fell from it and it didn’t escape Kíli’s notice.
Since then, not two days went by without him pretending to have seen a bee, making the sound of a bee, or showing you one near you.
It was tiring and not fun. Even his uncle scolded him about it, but he continued.
“You’re stupid and I hate you!” you ended up exploding after a long, tiring day. “You know what, don’t approach me or talk to me again!”
You left him alone, surprised by your reaction, as you joined the camp without any woods you were supposed to bring. This evening, he searched for woods alone as his brother was with Thorin and Balin talking about the road.
Then, you kept your distance with him for days. He tried several times to speak with you but you ignored him. The whole company laughed about it, calling you ‘the sulkiest woman of Middle-earth’, and joking about Kíli’s grumpy behaviour.
However, when Bilbo and you discovered the trolls had captured the ponies because of Fíli and Kíli’s inattention, you had no choice but speak with him to plan the ponies’ rescue, which quickly failed of course.
After that, Kíli and you started talking again, as before. He apologised one last time and you finally forgave him. As you both spoke about what happened the day you avoided him, you realise you weren’t the only one to miss your chatting.
Your good understanding lasted until you arrived at Beorn, when you discovered Kíli’s fear for the giant bees. He avoided them, trying to stay brave, while you could almost see cold sweat on his face.
What could you do to make fun of him as much as he did to you? So many possibilities! Once you eventually found the good joke, you started it!
One afternoon while everyone was busy on their own, Kíli was sleeping on the ground at the back of the house. Laying under a tree, the sun didn't bother him to sleep, you could even hear him snoring. In the quietest way possible, you walked to him with a giant bee.
In conversation with Beorn, you realised these giant bees were harmless and they could even understand you a little. So you asked one of them to follow you to Kíli.
In front of him, you took your most beautiful voice to call him. After calling him several times as he groaned, he ended up opening his eyes. At the sight of the bee just in front of him, he froze. You never saw him so quiet, you even suspected he stopped breathing. Kíli only reacted when he heard you laugh as you asked the bee to leave.
Once the bee left, it didn’t take him a long time to understand you made fun of him, especially with your laugh echoing through the garden. “I promised if I catch you…” he shouted as he quickly got to his feet. Between your laugh and his sudden move, you stumbled over a root and fell to the ground. Kíli easily caught you.  He lowered to the ground above you and locked your arms next to your head, as he used to do with his brother when they were young.
“Do you think it's funny?” he groaned, still angry with you because of his sudden, scary waking.
“It was very funny! If you could have seen your face!” you continued to laugh until his hands hurt you. “Ouch! Hey calm down, I’m not a solid dwarf like all of you! You’re going to break my wrist!”
His grip loosened but he didn’t move. He looked at you from above as his cheeks started to blush under his little beard.
You wondered how long he could have stayed like that if Thorin hadn't called him from the other side of the house…
Tumblr media
Bilbo
It wasn't hard for Bilbo to understand you were afraid of bees. Still in the Shire, the journey barely started, you let out a light cry as you were sitting on the ground for lunch. At that very moment, Bilbo was just next to you. So it was impossible to hide it.
He looked at you with a gentle smile as he made it leave with a simple move of his hand, not even standing up.
“Do you have a superpower with bees? Do they understand you?” you asked, looking first at his hand, then at his face.
“A super what?” he replied with a questioning face as he bit into an apple.
You didn't try to explain him and preferred to change the subject, still impressed by him however.
After that, you decided to stay next to Bilbo when you were sitting on the ground. It was the safer way! And Bilbo’s company was always agreeable.
The rest of the journey was better now you knew Bilbo’s superpower. If we talked of bees, of course, not of goblins or orcs. You didn’t even know where he was when you faced the goblins. But for bees, he was the best!
When you spent the first night at Beorn, the company let you sleep the next morning as much as you want. The sun was already up when you felt something tickling your cheek. You first scratched your face before opening your eyes and understanding a giant bee just in front of you.
With a quick involuntary move, you hit the bee and it fell on the floor, not moving anymore. Your heart arched and you tried to think what you should do.
The solution was evident when you found it. You run to find Bilbo in the house until you find him outside talking to Balin. Without explaining anything, the little hobbit eventually followed you to the bee still on the floor, moving a little.
You let him act as he wanted and he found a way to wake it up and help him to go outside. Who knew that a little honey could save a bee?
Bilbo knew. After he brought out the giant bee and came back to you, you immediately hugged him. Surprised and embarrassed, he tensed before thinking you needed comfort.
“It’s fine. I don’t think another one would come in after what you did,” he said as he stroked your back.
“I’m sorry! And I thank you so much!” you said as you pulled back a little, your hands still holding his upper arms. “It was amazing! You’re amazing!”
Your enthusiastic words quickly made the little hobbit blush, or maybe it was your hands on him or your previous hug. Unlike the dwarfs, he had no beards, so you could see it easily, even if he tried to hide it with some nose moves and by offering you breakfast.
Tumblr media
Dwalin
“Why are ye scared of something so tiny?” Dwalin asked as you hid behind him.
“I don't do it on purpose,” you replied a little too harshly.
You don’t want to talk about it, you want it to disappear. From your sight, not from this universe, you’re not a monster.
So you had hidden yourself behind the first person next to you until the bee’s sound went away, and the person in question was Dwalin. This big dwarf was a good shield for tiny things. Tiny or big, for trolls, goblins, or orcs, he wasn’t bad either!
But for bees, he couldn’t help but laugh when you were running behind him without a word until it left. Dwalin wasn’t the kind of dwarf to laugh, so you were surprised the first time you saw him smile after you thanked him for being your shield.
“At your service, lass!” he always replied with a smile before regaining his serious behaviour as usual.
You were glad to always have him when you needed it. He was a perfect shield.
When you arrived at Beorn’s house, you quickly noticed the giant bees. So you tried to avoid them. They were almost less frightening. Almost. Until you went on a walk and you found several of them around you, gathering pollen on flowers. They hadn’t noticed you, but their sounds were scary. It was nothing like the discreet sound of tiny ordinary bees.
You tried to keep you calm but the anxiety made your heart beat so hard that your eyes couldn’t stop the tears from coming. The ultimate solutions were to yell Dwalin’s help or to run away, but afraid like you were, you just closed your eyes and remained motionless.
Bees’ sounds were everywhere until you felt something in front of you. Your fear made you hesitate to open your eyes, but at the sounds of the bees moving away, you eventually opened them.
The back of Dwalin was just before you. The strong back of your shield was protecting you.
You let your head fall on it, tears running over your cheek with relief. Dwalin immediately turned to you when he heard you. You hit his chest with the little strength you had as he wrapped his arms around you.
“Are ye ok?” he said in a worried voice.
“Why did my shield take so long?” you said, hitting him once again.
“I’m here, and I’m sorry. Yer shield was looking for ye in the wrong place,” he said as he stroked your back. “I promise ye it'll never happen again.”
Tumblr media
Ori
Bees used to scare you when they were near you. If they were far enough away to not hear them, it was fine. So you used to look around you when you were sitting on the ground, maybe a little too much.
“They don't go out at night,” Ori said with a shy voice as he was sitting next to you. “You won't find any insects like bees or wasps at night. I read it in a book when I was young.”
“Are you sure?” you asked, full of hope. “I never think of it, but you must be right. I never saw any of them at night.”
“If it can reassure you, bees almost never attack someone. It’s very rare, I’m sure you will never be attacked if you do nothing to them,” he said with a comfort face’s expression.
“Do you promise me?” you asked seriously.
“Oh, hm, yes. I promise you,” he replied in a hesitant voice but still with his nice smile.
This was the first of many conversations with the shy dwarf. He always taught you something that calmed you down when you were scared. And in this quest, there was enough to be scared of!
Even at Beorn, you weren’t so afraid of the giant bees. You were almost used to them. Then, one nice afternoon, with the permission of Dori and Nori, you went for a walk with Ori in Beorn’s territory. You both were sure you would be safe here, so you took your time. And the time always passed quickly with Ori because you always found good subjects to talk about.
In the middle of the afternoon, you took a break near a river under a big tree. As your head leaned towards the water to refresh your face, you heard a light but loud cry from Ori. You ran to him as fast as you could and saw him shake his hand. In front of him, you wanted to take his hand but he stepped back. Looking more panicked than him, he tried to reassure you but it didn’t work.
“It was just a bee that stung me. I didn't pay attention and put my hand on it when I wanted to sit down,” he explained as you were more and more worried.
He couldn’t tell you he was watching you instead of paying attention to the ground. Between you and the ground, his choice was easily made.
“You promised they never attack!” you exclaimed in a louder voice than you wanted. “What if you react wrongly and die? What if you lost your hand? Your hand Ori! What if–”
“M-my hand is fine,” he cut you off in a calm voice when his cheeks were red from your sudden over-attention to him. “I have never read that a dwarf died because of a bee. I’m sure Oín can help me with that easily. D-do you want to come with me?”
Of course you were coming with him! You will help Oín as much as you can! The scribe dwarf will need your help for a long time before he can use his hand!

Trying something a little different with this one. 👀 Masterlist for these drabbles here. Check out the original post/prompt list. And feel free to send me requests if there are any specific combinations/pairings you want to see.
Chance Meeting + Chiropractor + "You have a package for me?" + Gloin/Canon Wife
Oin was down to his last client of the day, and then he could finally go home. He went through his routine of sanitizing before opening the door to the waiting room.
“Milja? Ya ready?”
The slightly plump, dark-haired woman rose gracefully from her seat to meet him at the door. Her smile lit up her whole face, and it made Oin smile in return.
“Neck still giving you problems?” He questioned.
“Yes.” She groaned. “And now the pain has started to radiate down to my upper back. Is that normal?”
“Aye, considering you were rear ended, I would say it’s fairly typical. Have you been resting like I told you to?”
She pulled a face at this. “I get rest when I’m at home, but my job is a little physically demanding, and I can’t take any more time off. I’m already behind in orders as it is.”
He nodded. “To be expected. We’ll get you back in ship-shape here before too long.”
“That’s what I hoped you would say.” She mumbled.
Oin craned his neck while turning up his hearing aid slightly. “We need to plan for another day?”
“No.” She laughed. “I’m in your capable hands, Mr. Oin.”
Oin nodded the affirmative while he began to give her instructions of how to lay so he could pop her neck joint back into place. He had just finished and had her roll over to her stomach to access her back, when the door burst open.
"You have a package for me?"
Oin turned around to snap at the intruder only to see it was his thick-skulled brother.
“Are you daft?” He complained. “Can’t you see I’m with a client? I don’t just go bursting into your bank and start demanding attention do I?”
“Calm down!” Gloin grunted. “It’s not like there was a sign. I just saw your text so I thought I would head over here.”
“I texted you two hours ago!”
“Right, and I finally saw it.”
“Gloin! I’ve got someone on the table here, you rude boar.”
Chuckles evolved into snorts causing both men to stare down at the woman laid out on the table. She turned slightly, showing off her thousand watt smile.
“Brothers, I take it?”
“How could you guess?” Oin grumbled.
“It certainly wasn’t too hard.” She teased. “He was certainly recognizable after all the stories you’ve told.”
Oin winced, waiting for Gloin’s quick rebuttal, only to look back in confusion at his tongue tied brother. It was probably more accurate to say the red head was stunned with his slack jawed and rosy cheeks and…oh. Oh, this was almost too good.
“You still here? Can’t you see Milja and I want to leave soon and can’t do it with you standing in the doorframe watching like a loon.”
Gloin’s blush became fiercer as he turned his head to glare at Oin.
“I see my brother here has delighted in telling stories. Far-fetched ones I can only assume!”
“He says you have a temper as fiery as your hair.”
“Bah! Already pure lies! It’s not my fault the old goat can’t hear worth a damn.”
Milja laughed again, doing her best to cover it at least. Gloin took this as encouragement as he stepped closer.
“I’m really quite a gentleman.”
“Unless you’re with your cousins, Dwalin and Thorin.”
Gloin spluttered before glaring at Oin. “You’re such a gossip. Do you actually do any work in here?”
“Yes, I’m very busy. And I’d like to go home. You two flirt on your own time.”
Both Gloin and Milja froze at this before slowly giving each other shy but hopeful looks. Oin groaned in despair before using Milja's relaxed posture to his advantage. Before either could react, he pressed down on the spot on her spine until it gave an almighty crack. Milja cried out in surprise.
“Careful! Is this how you treat patients?”
“You’re done.” Oin announced. “Gloin, Milja is a welder by trade but she likes painting watercolors on her back porch. Milja, there's a steakhouse down the street that Gloin adores. He’ll treat you if you both get out of my office. Now.”
“Chiropractor and dating advisor. What can’t you do Mr. Oin?” Milja teased as she got up from the table.
“Apparently get either of you to leave. Shoo!”
Gloin muttered something under his breath that had Milja smiling widely again, but Oin didn’t bother trying to figure it out. He deserves to be the best man. That’s all he has to say about it. He walked back towards his computer only to see the package that had been delivered to him by mistake sitting innocently on the desk. He smirked. What a perfect excuse to find out how their date went when he dropped it off tomorrow.

First Kiss
Part of the 2021 Cocoa Kiss Collection
Pairing: Thranduil x fem!reader
Category: One-shot
Summary: You and Thranduil have been friends since childhood. After his wife was murdered, you agreed to marry him to help raise Legolas and rule the kingdom by his side. For years you have lived separate lives, appearing together only when necessary. But when the conflict with Thorin brings you and Thranduil out to the men’s camp, you realize that your feelings for him may go beyond friendship and duty...
Warning: Description of intense kissing, talk of sharing a bed. Mention of bruises.
Tumblr media
You turned around when Thranduil entered the tent and halted, the surprise on his face evident. “You’re...in my tent.” He stated, the words hesitant.
“I apologize, my lord. The men, they do not know of our...situation.” You reached for the coat and belt you had just thrown aside. “I will see if I can sleep among the women and children, it will be no inconvenience.”
“I will not have my queen sleeping among their kind.” Thranduil’s jaw set.
So did yours. “They’re not animals, Thranduil. They’re training hard and I see improvement among many of them, especially the women.”
“No, that was not what I meant.” Thranduil’s perfect lips had become a thin line. “I simply...” He gestured about him, eyes grazing over the pile of furs and blankets lying in the corner. “There’s no reason we cannot share.”
“As you wish.” You nodded. “We will divide the blankets then and I will sleep on this side.”
Thranduil nodded back. “Do you...wish me to leave while you prepare for bed?”
You turned away from him, concealing your blush as you tossed your coat and belt back onto the ground. “I am simply removing my outer garments. There’s no reason to leave.”
You began to fiddle with the strings on the side of the thick leather plating you wore to protect your chest and back. But the day had been long and your body ached. The distracting twinge of your muscles made the laces an unexpected challenge. While Thranduil had met with Bard and the other men, you had trained a large group of both men and women in the likely event of a battle. It had left your body tired and sore, a number of bruises from various accidental swings decorating your body.
After a few more moments of fumbling with the strings you gave a sigh. “Thranduil,”
“My queen.” the way he said it sent an unexpected wave of warmth to flood through you.
     “Would you-,”
“Of course.” Thranduil was behind you in an instant, his slender fingers nudging yours aside.
He made quick work of the laces and helped you ease the plating off of you. “Your movements are pained. Are you injured?”
“The day was long.” You muttered, reaching up to rub at the blossoming ache in your neck. You felt a hundred pounds lighter without the plating.
Thranduil hummed in agreement. “Here,” he took you by the arm. “Sit.”
Confused, you allowed him to lead you to the pile of blankets where he helped you to sit. “My lord?”
“I noticed how well you trained them today.” Thranduil knelt before you, his robes pooling about him, hair spilling over his shoulders in flawless rivers of white gold. “You are truly the people’s queen.”
“That was the reason you married me, was it not?” Your heart was beginning to beat faster as Thranduil helped you out of your boots and stockings.
“Do you think that was the only reason I married you?” Thranduil’s icy blue eyes searched your face.
For some reason the question caused your breath to catch in your throat. “I assumed.” You whispered.
The truth was that you loved him. You had ever since you were no more than a small elfling running after him in his father’s gardens. Thranduil was slightly older than you and had seen you as no more than a little sister.
Time passed. Thranduil’s duties as prince took him away from the forest and from you. By the time you saw him again he had just been crowned as king of Mirkwood. You looked into his eyes and fell in love with him all over again...until he introduced you to his wife, the queen, and the infant son they had together.
There was no happiness inside you the day word came that the queen had been killed. There were no dark motives behind finding Thranduil in his chambers to ensure he would not drown in grief. You were the only one who had seen Thranduil weep for his queen.
More time passed. It was Thranduil who first suggested the marriage, a platonic alliance that would prove mutually beneficial. You would care for the elves of Mirkwood, ensuring that there was peace. Thranduil was in charge of the land’s protection. And you had raised baby Legolas together.
It was perfect. And yet there was nothing more than friendship between you and Thranduil. Your love for him was something hidden, something secret. Something silent.
Thranduil’s voice brought you back to the present. “You did not answer me, my queen.”
“I’m sorry,” your gaze drifted down to his hand resting on your knee.
     “Are you injured?”
“I...No. It’s nothing, I’m simply sore.” You reached out hesitantly, your fingers ghosting over his. “Why else would I have married you? It was my duty...as your friend.” You looked up at him. “I could not leave you alone.”
“I see,” Thranduil moved to sit beside you on the blankets. “Then you feel nothing for me, my queen?”
Your heart jumped out of your chest. “I do not understand why you would ask-,”
“I am in love with you, my queen. I do not want either of us to taste the blood of battle without revealing this to you. Not after my wife...” Thranduil trailed off, a trace of sadness tainting his eyes.
“I will not die tomorrow, Thranduil. I promise.” You put a trembling hand to the side of his face, a gesture you had done a thousand times.
Not breaking eye contact, Thranduil turned his head and pressed a kiss into your palm. A kiss. A real kiss. The world around you froze. Everything froze.
Thranduil leaned towards you. Your hand slipped away, eyes closing as Thranduil’s perfect lips finally, finally pressed against yours. Gentle, sweet and full of love. Love for you.
You reached out, desperate to touch him, to assure yourself that this was real. In a single movement Thranduil pulled you into his arms and deepened the kiss, causing you to gasp. You gripped his shoulder with one hand, the other daring to tangle itself in his hair. Every inch of you was on fire, both inside and out. You had never felt like this, and you never wanted it to end.
When Thranduil broke for air you chased his lips, stealing kisses, shifting in his embrace, trying to get more.
“My darling,” you whispered. “My love.”
“Hush, my queen. We do not want the others to hear.” Thranduil cast a glance at the closed tent flaps in between returning your kisses with his own. “Share my bed tonight. Become my wife in every way.”
“Yes,” you smiled. “Yes, I will stay with you. My husband.”
Thranduil smiled back at you and went back to kissing you, the two of you melting into a night that you would never forget.
