Before I answer more asks I want to say my stance(???) on this whole thing

I hope caiti finds peace, I don’t condone what George did but I don’t think he’s a monster.. I believe in second chances and from talking to other people irl even if what he did was really bad and makes my skin kinda crawl from what we know they were both comfy at the time and so George still should have been more careful but I believe that if he fully takes responsibility, if he takes the necessary steps starting by apologizing fully privately and or publicly (which he kinda did ig? But it’s caiti’s decision to accept or not) he can change to be a better person

I’m not really sure what to think of other things people brought up about his past chats or jokes as I never really tuned into streams that much so

As to dream, I feel bad. I don’t think he’s a perfect person or a saint of a man (and even if Twitter doesn’t want to admit it they’ve been putting all these men on such a high pedastool that if they show one sign of imperfection as seen on twitter’s chronically online eyes it’s seen as a betrayal or a monsterous thing whatever it might actually be) but I feel he’s been quite sincere this whole situation and is pretty innocent it’s just horrible he got caught up in this and all the attention was focused on him instead of the victims of the situation hope he finds peace as well and the world learn to treat him with the kindness and respect he tries to give to this world

As to dteam friends, I hope they all find peace this must be WAYY harder for them to process as their friendships are so closely related to their image, career, money and connections in the industry (which is… wow toxic af) I don’t blame any of them for acting this way (especially if ur a woman in this industry gawd damn 😭😭) must be hard to be a creator

So what about me what am I gonna do (not related to art) I’m probably gonna be less attached to the fandom, as I showed I have impulsive tendencies and get attached to things really easily and SO deeply which is unhealthy to probably do on men that I don’t know (with twt amplifying it sweats) so I think I’m gonna take a back step on Dnf and dteam as a whole but still in the fandom (probably just from a distance tho) so ig it’s just I won’t make content only for the fandom but will sometimes! I still want to see those Dnf posts haha

If anyone wants to talk about this stance (questions comments etc whatever) feel free to ask! It might help me accept my peace

I’ll make another post about my views on Dnf after all this situation soon under this :)

Watching your work recently has been so inspiring. I had a rough few semesters of art school, and while I enjoyed the classes, I was mildly disillusioned by an insistence on what felt like "meaningful" art...

A lot can be meaningful! After being online a bit more, around artists like you who clearly love what you're doing and make art you're passionate about, it kinda made me realize that I'm free! I can make what I want, whatever it is! Art that has historically and occasionally been deemed lesser (e.g. fanart) is not actually so, and art can mean a lot even if it isn't in fancy galleries or art books.

Anyway, what I mean to say is: you're inspiring, and talented. I really love your art for what it is and what it represents to me. I love seeing what you make, and it helps bolster me to make my own art as wild as I want!

This is one of the sweetest asks I've ever gotten and it's really made my, like, year lol.

This is the reason I post fanart!! Other artists represented the same for me when I was younger and it made want to participate and join in and I'm glad I did! I've met some cool people and I've had really interesting conversations and experiences via fandom... even if I can be a bit of a lurker at times haha.

Art School's rough, I definitely have felt similarly. A big problem is that a lot of professors tend to be hyperfocused on their own field and what makes art meaningful To Them. (the amount of times I've walked out of a class grumbling cuz a LA prof only wanted to talk about white box gallery work and didn't even know we HAD an animation department...) Which isn't always bad if you gel with the right ones, but other times it can definitely put a dampener on your work. A good way to look at art sometimes I think is that what's "meaningful" about it can be the smallest stupidest reason ever. And you just gotta stand by that, even if other people think it's lame. Sometimes the meaning was in making it, or getting to share it, sometimes the meaning is drawing your favorite blorbo in a white void because it gave you an outlet and makes you happy. That's meaningful, you just gotta know how to argue for that meaning sometimes. (profs LOVE a good bullshitter)

Turning in things for a grade rather than because you enjoy it is never going to be the best format for art regardless of what kind of art you're making. I've found the more I stuck it out the more things I actually enjoyed became available to me and now I'm kinda (not fully tho, im SO glad to be graduating fyi) regretting all the classes I never got the chance to take. You just gotta take it one day at a time and remember that art school should be there as a place to practice and better both your work and your own understanding of the work you make which can feel tedious and unnecessary at times but its worth it in the end(in my experience).

In the end you're the one paying for it and if you're not getting what you want out of it, it's best to look for other avenues, I did! I'm not graduating from the college I started at and I'm honestly really thankful for that.

I just want you to know that it’s not your fault, nor is it your writing. While I was going through the LIU ML I did notice that there was quite a huge difference in reblogs and interactions but please don’t think that it’s because of your writing! Tbh it can be a multiple of factors such as people only reading fics for certain members (even though they’re missing out on amazing stories but wtv-), ghost readers, people forgetting to reblog the second part (cough cough), shyness ig??, not realizing it was a part of a series, they’re no longer active to complete reading the series, they want to wait fir the series to end before reading it all in one go, or because they simply don’t know that reblogs weigh more than likes on tumblr :(

So…. Yeah! I just wanted to reassure you that all your fics hold such a dear place in my heart and I never want you to forget how much joy you, your fics, and your writing bring to people! Including me haha

I’m also wishing that my reblogs helped at least a little with getting more exposure to the LIU series and provide you with a little comfort that people are still reading and appreciating! Sorry, I feel like I keep repeating myself haha ^^;

Oh! And I’ve also read all your replies and thank you! Ily too 😭🫶 I wish my reactions were a little fresher but I kept up with the series since the beginning basically and I haven’t re-read them (YET!) so my reactions might be a little dull or repetitive/doesn’t bring anything new to the table but thank you for taking your time to read through all of them!

ive been wanting to ramble bout this for years (like since 2019 HAHA) but i held off on it because i figured the fandom phenomenon i was seeing was gonna be a one off thing. something thatd fade with time.

it wasnt. it's still here and so i wanna articulate what i think about

the fast food-ification of fandom

here’s the thing about fandom right now; we operate on social media platforms that are inherently fast paced. social media platforms these days prioritize new and popular content, but more than that, it creates an audience that is always searching for new content very, very quickly.

tumblr is a bit of a lesser evil, in terms of contributing to this (still does, tho, dont think im exempting hellsite derogatory, LMAO). but twitter, imo, is a hellscape with a system that hammers this in so so much: the lack of an explorable archive, no account specific tag search mechanism, a timeline algorithm that shows an account's followers the popular tweets first instead of chronologically and oftentimes even if you follow that account you will not be able to see all the tweets that account makes lest you go to the profile specifically. twitter is built for "new new new!" and it's not its fault, i guess, cuz it was not designed with fandom interaction in mind. still, it's become a very popular fandom platform and the "new new new!" mindset the system promotes ends up seeping into the members of fandom itself.

and there’s nothing wrong with wanting new content. but the problem here, i think, is the speed at which we consume fanwork. and the lack of memory for fanwork thats already been made.

fanwork consumption feels like it's going 100000000 mph with these kinds of systems and thanks to the lack of a navigate-able archive or tagging system, it's nigh impossible to find something from even last week. an incredible piece of fanart or fanfic or any fanwork gets attention for 3 days tops before it's lost and very very difficult to find. things are so fast and it's harder to remember them now.

swerve to another point: the trend of silence

im gonna bash on twitter again (SORRY KJSFBSD, like, i do have a twitter btw so im speaking from experience. i'd like to make it clear im not bashing ppl who do like/use twitter, im waving my hands frustratedly at twitter's systems) cuz tweet wc limits make it so that literally not much can be said! additionally, to add comments in QRT takes attention/notifs away from original poster, so if u QRT an art with praise, OP will see that! but if ppl reply more praise to the art on that QRT, OP will not get notified so that praise might as well have been yelled to the void

im a passionate believer that if youve got something nice to say about a fanwork and/or the creator of that fanwork, say it on their turf so they can see it. twitter makes it easier for this to not happen. positive attention and feedback matters so so much to creators and im p sure im not alone in saying that i cherish each and every comment (be it on ao3 or tumblr tags/comments or asks) ive ever gotten

and like, i know the argument to that is "make fanwork for yourself! dont make it for attention, do it cuz you enjoy it!" and "for every feedback you dont get, theres many lurkers who value and love what you do!"

i agree with that first thing very much but only the bit that says "do it cuz you enjoy it!" cuz yea! fandom is about having fun! but also like...isnt the point of fandom the fact that it's not just you alone, but you in a community?

a big draw of fandom, for me, is that it's likeminded deranged nerds all obsessed about the same thing. these are people on similar wavelengths and theyre people PLURAL. do fanwork cuz you enjoy it but the implication that a fancreator should be happy in isolation doesnt make sense cuz thats not what fandom is about.

and as for "there are lurkers who silently enjoy what you make" well...why?

why not say something when youve got something nice to say?

be it fanart or fanfic or fanmeta or anything, if the thought already pops up in your head, why not say it somewhere the creator can see it?

i totally understand if youre shy or if it's difficult to put into words whatever your thoughts are, like, huge mood. but also fandom becomes an infinitely funner space to be in when people are saying things

even a comment thats something simple and short makes the current landscape of fast paced churning out of fanworks feel less like we’re shouting in a forest alone, and more like we’re shouting in a forest and somebody yelled “I LOVED THIS” back. it’s really nice.

this is not a criticism towards anybody, but instead just kinda like, an inquiry to how we consume and interact with fanwork, these days. it’s really fast. like, so fast. tags update daily with new things every single day, every second, and it’s easy to just look and look and not say a thing. and that ease of fanwork consumption also makes it easy to forget just how hard it is to make things. how hard it is to make anything at all.

so much heart and effort is put into every work in fandom, and ive always seen fandom as a space for unapologetic enjoyment and community. treating fandom like a fast-food transaction where u get a thing in 5 minutes and drive off is...well, i dunno. but for me, among many things, it makes us forget just how much heart and effort is in all things.

hi this will be a sappy post but bear with me...today (5/16) marks 7 years i've had this blog (lucky 7 wowow) and i just want to take this day to appreciate all of y'all who have found my blog and sent me love 💖

i started this sideblog when i was 13 because i had just started getting into kpop and didn't want to clog up my main blog with a bunch of snsd and exo posts. in 2015 i found bts and since then my blog and tumblr has become a safe spot that i can come to when i need happiness and warmth. ngl i was one of those lurkers that would see so many posts but didn't reblog or like for whatever reason so i apologize on behalf of 14-16 y/o me 😬. i never thought that i'd still have this blog 7 years later and be so active.

i didn't start posting gifs until the end of last year because i remembered i got ps with my dummy high college tuition (at least something was included for "free"😂) and it really was this post that blew up one night that made me want to keep making gifs. at that time i felt so much love seeing your reactions through your reblog tags, and i still do. i read every set of tags y'all write in your reblogs and will continue to because they bring me so much joy. i know my gifsets aren't the most amazing out there (some of you on this platform have the most pristine quality and coloring and i admire you so much 😣), but i'm still happy that i am making some of y'all's days even just a smidge bit brighter.

thank you to every single one of you whether you just leave likes or you reblog and leave me a boatload of tags to enjoy (no rly keep writing paragraphs in your tags i love it). thank you to those who leave me little messages in my ask box, my heart actually leaps when i read them 💓💗. thank you to all my amazing mutuals that i've made mainly over the last few months - i haven't gotten to talk to you all individually (my messages are open tho 👀), but you all are a reason why i keep coming to tumblr at every hour of the day 🌼❤️.

Which one sexts like a straight white boy?

We all know it’s Diego. Not because he is a dudebro (he could easily have the fuckboy vibes tho, lbr) but simply because Luther doesn’t know how to text like a straight white boy. He may be one, but he has no idea how to be one.

Their texting usually goes like this:

Diego: Hey ;)

Diego: U up ;)

Luther: I have been awake for several hours. You know that I am an imsomniac.

Diego: haha

Diego: What u doin? ;)

Luther: I am currently texting with you.

Diego: So u alone?

Diego: ;)

Luther: If I weren’t I wouldn’t be texting with you.

Luther: Not that I don’t love you.

Luther: .......

Luther: ;)

(Luther doesn’t understand emojis but he tries, okay?)

Also, totally unrelated but Luther sends messages that sound like formal letters. Perfect grammar, good punctuation. Maybe one or two totally wrong slang words he heard the others use.

Five writes in capslock only and probably uses a dozen punctuation marks and they probably don’t even notice that capslock is not the default setting OR they just really like fucking with the others.

Ben leaves you on read for two days before eventually answering ‘Ok’

Probably both? I can see Diego just forgetting a spoon is in there and next thing he knows, Kitchen’s burning. Luther would probably do it on purpose, just to see what happens.

And they are the kind of couple to be hanging off of each other all night, arms around each other, holding hands while talking to different people, one leaning back against the other, etc.

Luther probably has really poor circulation considering...well, everything, so totally him.

But I can see Diego running pretty hot, so he doesn’t mind that much.

Luther wears a thousand layers to bed - he wears socks! Otherwise his feet would be freezing off - and Diego wears boxershorts only - sometimes not even that tbh - and still, Luther will cuddle up as close as possible because cold.

(Diego totally holds Luther’s hands in his own to warm them up and they fall asleep like that but psst).

Who had that embarassing Reality TV marathon?

Embarassing? That’s not embarassing, that’s bonding time! They make a big thing out of it, getting popcorn and ice cream and fancy drinks - probably non-alcoholic but still fancy - and then they yell at the tv for five hours straight, getting worked up over some dating show or something. (Flavour of Love, lmao)

They always, always, end up having different faves and when they finale comes around, they are always on different sides and most of the time they tease each other and that’s it but sometimes it actually turns into a full out fight and one of them - Diego most of the time - ends up sleeping on the couch.

Still, they end up on the couch every Saturday, throwing popcorn at the screen and laughing hard enough they lean into each other. Maybe making out some. Maybe some more. Who knows, the night’s young.

Who laughs more during sex?

At first, neither laughed a lot during sex because they were both really high strung about being ‘good’ in bed.

Like, Diego has an inferiority complex and Luther laughing would probably make him think Luther is laughing about him rather than with him and that would not end well.

And Luther would believe that Diego is laughing because of his body and yeah. Not a nice thought.

But they’ve come far since then and I can see them giggle and snort a lot while clumsily trying to make their way to the bedroom without actually having to separate too much.

Diego will laugh when Luther throws the door open hard enough he actually breaks the hinges and Luther will snort when Diego nearly faceplants because he’s trying to wiggle out of his pants and take off his shirt at the same time.

And they also laugh in the afterglow now, happy laughs between short kisses before Diego complains about being sticky and nudges Luther off the bed so he’ll get some towels.

[ Hey y’all! So uh...while this iteration of my dinky blog isn’t three years old, I have been lurking around this site in total (for RP) for three years now, as of...technically yesterday, eh heh. And good golly there has been a LOTTA growth since then. My muses and I have come a looong way, in regards to writing, editing, and getting to know so many people over the course of three years. Some have come and gone, and some have stayed...though few since those beginning days when Sylvie had NO idea what they were doing, ha!

And though I’ve only recently gone through my second revamp, there’s still a gaggle a’y’all that have stuck around. Some even from those very beginning days. So, I’d like to take a minute to just...gush about some of ya, cuz you’ve made being in this community fun, welcoming, and honestly like a second family to us. While I don’t have time to ramble about EVERYONE, I’m gonna do my darnedest to do as much as I can, and just...say thank you for making me able to stay this long, and have as much fun as I’ve had. It means the world to me <3
