Decided to watch All Of Us Strangers instead of going to bed, and now I’m crying and unwell

everything i loved about "the little mermaid" live action
Ariel's melody being her siren song!! that little new bit of lore!! i also really liked that it added more depth as to why Ursula wanted her voice in exchange for her becoming human
the way Ariel became almost angry during the bridge of "Part of Your World", she was so frustrated that she couldn't do the things she was dreaming about, like YES let her be mad!!

I've mentioned this before, but Ariel hearing Eric's voice before seeing him!!! hearing him sing before seeing him!!! agh!!!!

i like that they added a chunk of time passing between Ursula's death and Eric and Ariel reuniting, it added a little extra drama and emotion when they finally saw each other again!
listen i'm an absolute sucker for a "hug before kiss" reunion and i was SO happy that Eric and Ariel had that, it fit them and their relationship perfectly, the way Eric just clung to her, and Ariel's happy smile as she hugged him back 😭
The mermaid statue and the dress representing the land vs. the sea???? and both returning back to where they're supposed to be but having new meanings????
Ariel's wedding dress being pink to (probably) pay homage to her pink ballgown in the animated movie was such a good touch, and i loved the length!!
Triton and Ariel's goodbye, where he says "you shouldn't have had to give up your voice for me to hear you"???? hello my father issues jumped tf out and had me sobbing in the theater
literally the entire movie was so beautiful, i could talk about it for hours, this is the best live action remake honestly, and Eric and Ariel (specifically the live action version obvi) have moved up to become my favorite Disney Princess/Prince pairing, just behind Belle and Adam (bc let's be honest, nothing can top them)

Okay.
my honest opinion on this cover. ( My english is bad btw) + theory about the guy in the back
(I'm going to talk a lot because I expected a lot)
1) it’s empty. Not only does Keefe not do an action like all the covers of the saga but he just looks at us with a smile on his face. the characters are poorly organized it seems like Keefe is taking up all the space the details are really sloppy
2) there is no special color. Exile is blue, legacy violet, stellarlune red but this cover has no color it’s super disturbing
3) it does NOT fit with the rest of the books
4) Keefe face. his left eye is not simetric (plus it droops) there is not much space in his face on the side his hair is not the same as before it just looks like someone put some hair on him twigs on the skulls and there are holes. "b-but he just grew up" growing up doesn't mean your whole face changes. Pls it looks like he has a wig?
5) there are not enough details too many people forward!!
6) I've seen people say they expected a parallel with 8.5. and indeed it would have been so much better aesthetically it would have been beautiful with the other books. Keefe could have been in the center with AROUND human destinations like the cover of book 8.5. Or she could have put a SCENE, an ACTION. I don't know Keefe with an umbrella stroking the fox or him under a lamppost or him investigating, I don't know something
7) Keefe's expression? my friend told me the underground looks like heaven lol why is he smiling like that? I mean he just LOST his life, left his best friend (Fitz), the girl he loves and all the other people he cares about so WHY is he looking at us like that wtf the cover had SO MUCH potential with an alley dark where I don't know I just want to cry

I think it's Grady @ru0exe made fun of me but it makes sense that it was him 😭 Something must have happened between Grady and Keefe which would explain why Sophie's father became so nice to him. and then at the end of 8.5 Grady gives him a tip to contact him it wouldn't surprise me if Grady went to the forbidden cities to keep an eye Keefe.

- FIRST UP. ALL TIMR FAVE SCENE.. CONFIRMATION THAT KAI VISITS AICHIS SOMETIMES!!!!!!!!! UNPROMPTED AND UNINVITED!!!!!! AND AICHI JUST LETS HIM IN!!!!
sorry i sound like such a rabid fangirl but this is so soso important to me. like i feel actually crazy about the fact that by the time of asia circuit kai now feels comfortable enough just drop by aichis house to cardfight him. the fact that the protag thinks hes joking about visiting aichis house is killing me bc kais like "😐 i'm too busy to make jokes. clearly i am going to his house for real. you can tag along i guess" in response. he is not playing abt this he is so srs. also the rest of the scene is basically you third wheeling kaichi as kai inspects your deck and tells you to fix it with some cards while he fights aichi
- next up is: nagisa making a bento so spicy it literally knocks out kamui COLD.
i didn't get a screenshot of this but nagisa actually asks you to taste the bento and your dialogue options are
1) "wow.... this is a taste i've never had before"
2) "i think it's a little too spicy.."
3) "... it's delicious" (LYING) (YOU ARE A LYING LIAR WHO LIES)
so in conclusion never eat food from nagisa i guess
- miwa being silly and misaki literally Tearing into his ass for it... wtf

I don’t like that Percy has Riptide during the fight with the Minotaur. Actually, I don’t like the fight scene at all. It’s so boring and I can hardly see what’s happening
Overall, it’s cute. I don’t love it, but I don’t hate it. I’m going to be honest, I don’t care about the characters or story so far because I feel like I’m being told I should care, but not shown why I should care. The pacing is horrible so far. Everything is moving too fast. The show also suffers from having horrible lighting. It’s hard to care about what’s happening when you can’t see what’s happening on the screen. It’s all very boring right now. Where’s the chaos that kept me hooked the first time?? Actors are great, I’ll give them that. But the show is so far not doing it for me

Fig’s reaction to Em-Sea’s PTSD? Maybe she got issues from the repository battle (fig did not die she saved him with her ancient magic and daddy fig lives it’s a cannon event he is alive😭).
Em-Se wakes up in a cold sweat every night and has a hard time falling back asleep. She tries to keep it from Fig as much as she can bcuz she doesn’t want him to know just how bad she’s struggling. She uses the glamour charm to hide the bags under her dark and bloodshot eyes, she’s pale and thin not eating, tired all the time.
Every time she hears a loud bang she thinks it’s a goblin camp trying to attack her or poachers trying to kill her. Shes constantly looking over her shoulder afraid that one of the knights she faced (idk wtf else they were) is sneaking up on her.
Em-Sea is really fucked up and one night she wakes up shaking and sweating, gets out of bed and falls to the floor from a really really bad nightmare so the girls in her dorm put her arms around their necks and take her to the infirmary. Kinda like the same scene where harry had the nightmare in OOTP and went to dumbledores office.
I'm feeling out of sorts today so Imma take those feelings and put them in here, so: ANGST, my favorite (plus little comfort since you asked but just a tiny bit cause yeah)
"Are you sure you're all right?"
MC jumped at the voice behind her. Poppy was peering at her with a worried frown on her face. If MC didn't know better, she'd say the dark bags under her eyes were visible to the world. However, she knew better and had become a professional in glamouring spells and makeup. So, whatever had Poppy worried wasn't the sleepless night or nightmares MC was careful to hide.
"I'm good," she answered with a cheeky smirk. "Why are you asking?"
Poppy only side-eyed her and sat next to her. It was common for students to sit at different tables, mainly because everyone had friends or family in different houses. MC, especially, seemed to find a friend in all four houses even if she belonged to the one.
"Nothing," Poppy sighed when MC didn't crack.
Her happy mask was on full display and not even Fig knew MC had been having mental issues, and he knew everything about the girl. Truth was, MC's nightmares were often about the repository. Sometimes Fig died in there, other times she died, and other times Ranrok escaped and tore Hogwarts down with all her friends inside.
Less frequent nightmares starred Mr. Salomon Sallow dying under her wand. Or Sebastian dying under his uncle's wand. Or, the worst yet, Sebastian dying under her wand.
All in all, she didn't want to go to sleep anymore. She stopped sleeping in the dormitory, choosing to spend her nights in the Room of Requirement where no one would be aware of her cries or fears.
Not even Deek. The elf had left when it was clear she was ready to care for her animals, plants and potions by herself.
What. She was good at faking it.
So far, at least.
That day was particularly exhausting, and MC fell asleep as soon as her head hit the pillow. She didn't even take her tie off. Or her shoes.
And, when the nightmares came, they were more real than ever. First Sebastian killing his uncle only to be killed by Anne who then turned into Ranrok and killed Fig. Then Ranrok turned into a dragon and chased her all over the highlands.
She ran.
She ran as fast as she could. Her legs burned and her feet hurt. Her head was killing her.
"Finally, you silly girl," Ranrok purred, closer and closer. "Your power is mine, MC."
She could only cry out, however, no sound came out of her mouth. Ranrok's claws grabbed her arms and she trashed, trying to escape.
"MC," Ranrok chuckled. "MC, MC."
She started crying. She tried to yell. Scream for help. The castle was close maybe someone would hear.
"MC! Merlin. Aguanenti!"
MC spluttered and blinked. Blinked again. She was in the Defense Tower. How did she-?
Fig was staring at her with wide terrified eyes.
"I was late grading some essays," he explained uselessly. One of his hands was still grabbing MC's arms, where her nightmare had put Ranrok's claw. The other hand had his wand, aiming away from her but ready to stop her if she tried anything that could hurt her.
"I was-," MC trailed off.
I was so tired I forgot to take a dreamless potion. I was so tired I forgot to lock the Room.
"I'm so tired," she ended up confessing.
Her voice broke and tears began running down her face. Once she started, she couldn't seem to stop. She sobbed. She cried and cried and Fig pulled her into his arms, not caring that her runny nose and tears could ruin his robes.
"Oh, MC," he shushed, rocking her back and fort a little. "I'm so sorry."
For not noticing. For not offering help. For not helping when he knew how difficult it was for her to ask for help in the first place.
"I just wan'it to end," MC wailed between sobs. "All'of'it!"
Fig closed his eyes, pained to his soul at hearing such words with such heavy meaning coming out from a barely sixteen year old.
He could onlu hugged her tighter.
He'd make sure she knew she was not alone.

Okay so I thought of a nom situation that would be incredibly funny and I wanted to share it with everyone. The pilot scene where N 'yeets' Uzi in/near a nearby box to hide her from the others, but he noms her instead.
With tiny Uzi it would be easier, but with normal-sized Uzi it would be really funny lol. Just imagine N's internal scream as he has to stand there listening to the other two DDs talk and hoping the worker he just nommed doesn't kick the snick out of his insides too much.
And then for the virus J put on N when he goes 'traitor', it causes perfectly timed expulsion of everything in N's stomach just after J flies into the ventilation shaft.
I don't know, panic nomming between N and Uzi just seemed really funny to me XD
THE BEST THING ABOUT THIS IS THAT IT WOULD TOTALLY HAPPEN 😭 I’m literally sat in my room, in the dark, giggling my head off at this, especially the virus part because Uzi would be like "wtf??!?!?!?!"

okay so i have a sneaking suspicion that the letter he gave callum was a letter that said he was to inherit the throne or something like that. though, isn’t that already obvious since he’s the oldest child of the king (even if he’s his stepson)? or does it only apply if you are blood related to the king, which means ezran would inherit it? dunno.
also i do acknowledge that rayla was hiding the fact that harrow died to protect them, but like, TELL THEM. even if they would have felt really sad and stuff ᵗᵐ, i feel like personally, i would have told them. because i feel like the longer you withhold the information, the more it’ll hurt when they figure out the truth. and i assure you, one way or another the truth always comes out.
also i felt so just like in shock while seeing the bond (for killing the king) come off of runaan’s hand. it was just so fast i could not process it. also the shadow hawk WAS SO FREAKING COOL. i was just amazed by that for a hot minute. but im not ashamed to say my first thought was that is everyone who was fighting there dead? is soren dead??? now, i wouldn’t say soren is the best person but the way he let callum beat him to impress claudia, never mind his own sister is just so 💗💗💗💗💗💗. also soren is kind of a hot snatch, and you can’t deny it, that’s speaking from someone who doesn’t even really have a type or anything.
okay, so yeah now my next big thing:

Now you will become my hands to save the boys.” (translation from @redemptiionss—they have dragon prince translations for what amaya signs that gren doesn’t say!) AHHH!!!!! i mean that is just so sweet in like a really friendly platonic way. anyways i love aunt amaya and commander gren 💕
SPEAKING OF COMMANDER GREN. LORD VIREN YOU LITTLE TWERP WHY DID YOU UN-ASSIGN HIM FROM THE MISSIONNN??? ik he did it so that his kids could lead it obviously so they could follow his orders and do his dirty work but- you don’t know how much i wanted that commander gren screen time 😭😭 he just seems like such a funny guy

I am sooooo ready for the real flirting and courtship between P'Mhok and Nong Day to commence 😁
1. So yeah, I have read so many meta writing concerning August and what motivated him to do what he did (shoutout to Mark Pakin for unknowingly being the root cause of all my angst against August 😅). Those who tried to understand August are a lot better persons than I am. My petty ass would still like August's head on a platter 😅😅😅😅
2. Okay, the starting scene feels like Bad Buddy Episode 6 all over again - the awkward tension after a rooftop kiss 😭😭😭 P'Aof, why do you do this?

I guess the next episodes will focus on what happened between Night and Day. Ongoing theory in socmed is that Night is the reason for Day's condition. I'm not convinced because P'Aof has that reputation of subverting the 'obvious' in what motivates his characters' actions - i.e., Mes' uncle's financial woes led him to watch Mes die from a heart attack in He's Coming to Me, Tian's illegal race bet causing Torfun's death in ATOTS, and Ming betraying his bff, Dissaya, by stealing her scholarship grant as the root cause of the family rivalry in BBS.
I really am curious to see what P'Aof has cooked up this time. Plus, it's a beach episode next week 😊

Wtf I just watched the flashback scenes in Dirge of Cerberus with Hojo, Vincent and Lucrecia and that shit is so dark and creepy. Apparently Hojo was married to Lucrecia?? (I just saw that note on the storyboard thing).
But he orders her around like a dog and takes her own damn son away like it’s nothing. This man is so deranged. When he shoots Vincent and starts laughing like a maniac while Lucrecia freaks out, that gave me chills.
Watching it, I felt so much dread and anxiety. The mental illness is off the charts lmao. Hojo is such a hypocrite too. He scoffs at Barret in the Remake for being rough, saying something like “I am not so used to physical violence” or something, but then he straight up murders Vincent and later Gast too??
Idk. This part of the story is so mysterious but it’s definitely dark as hell. I feel horrible for Sephiroth lol. Imagine growing up around someone like Hojo 💀
I'm not a fan of Dirge (as most know), but I do genuinely love its creepy and disturbing atmosphere. The scenes with Hojo are very over the top, but I love the spooky lighting and unsettling angles. The game definitely nailed a sense of tone. I can appreciate that.
Lucrecia is kind of a genuine moron. Hojo is a massive walking red flag in these flashbacks and yet she seems completely baffled when he acts like a complete douche to her. I guess "love" is blind. Or whatever it was between them.
Baby Sephiroth being taken away is just 😭 She never even got to hold him. That's so profoundly fucked up it's not even funny.
Anyway kudos to Hojo for adding some fun scenes. I still very much dislike Dirge and what they DID with Hojo later in the game. But the flashbacks are neat.

Ok, final thoughts on Junji Ito Maniac
It was... fine. Better than the Junji Ito Collection, for sure, though I'd argue the creepy scenes looked... well, creepier there lol Let's be honest, I think it's clear by now it's impossible to recreate Ito's artstyle, it just works a lot better on paper.
The one thing that annoyed me though is how they just... decided to stop some of the stories short? Like, I get some changes need to be made, but it almost seems like they looked at some of the stories and went 'pff who needs these last couple of pages? just throw them out'. So weird.
Anyway, some general (relatively spoiler-free) thoughts on each episode that no one cares about:
‘The Strange Hikizuri Siblings’: love how they started with some dark humor (for some definition of the word humor) to lead you into a false sense of security.
‘The Story of the Mysterious Tunnel’: meh, the original was better
‘Ice Cream Bus’: The ending fucked me up <3
‘Hanging Balloon’: a fascinating mixture of "this is so dumb" and "wait why is this also terrifying 😭", love the non-linear storytelling
‘Four x Four Walls’: another one that's more darkly humorous, it made me feel so claustrophobic jfc
‘The Sandman’s Lair’: oh look, another one that fucked me up <3
‘Intruder’: I find this one weirdly fascinating, kinda would love to know more about wtf actually happened
‘Long Hair in the Attic’: the one that made me regret watching this show, I am officially traumatized <3
‘Mold’: you could not pay me to stay in that fucking house, goodBYE sir
‘Library Vision’: again, not a super fan of the changes, but it's still pretty good. And creepy.
‘Tomb Town’: I really like this one for some reason, but the animation in that scene at the well was... questionable. And the original ending is MUCH better (imo)
‘Layers of Terror’: Oh, my mistake. NOW I'm traumatized for life <3 fuck this show why did I start watching this 😭
‘The Thing that Drifted Ashore’: my least favourite, by far. And I'm sorry, but it looked... bad. Like, really bad 😕
‘Tomie – Photo’: also titled 'the girl who can't stop making terrible decisions' jeez
‘Unendurable Labyrinth’: meh
‘The Bully’: I also really like this one and it's also disturbing as all hell <3
‘Alley’: karma is a bitch huh
‘Headless Statue’: girl for the love of god why tf would you follow his shady ass and why would you not jump out of the nearest window when given the chance 😭
‘Whispering Woman’: another one I really like, and I find it weirdly nice in a super disturbing way lol
‘Soichi’s Beloved Pet’: we stan a guy who's super passionate about animals, we don't stan a guy who fucks up a perfectly good kitty 😭

YES! I haven't read the book but the whole stalking thing is a no no for me, and the way people talk about the book plus snippets and things I've read makes me feel like it isn't worth spending my money on so it's hard pass ( also hot take: the whole 'little mouse' thing made me cringe plus the whole glorifying r*pe part )

haunting adeline is one of my roman empires in the worst way possible and mostly for the reasons you just listed...the fmc is so empty and lowk boring, the mmc is the biggest hypocrite bc how you gonna go and fo THAT as a profession and then turn around and sa the woman you claim to """"love"""" which is solely based on her looks and what he's seen of her..the writing itself is mid at best and the storyline is just so fucked up and lowk boring. plus, the fact the author is so, so comfortable with writing such explicit and detailed assault scenes makes me gag i literally couldn't sleep after reading the first part of the sequel because of how detailed everything was...whoever says their fave book is haunting sdeline is in my dark list bc what the FUCK 🫣

Willow season finale some thoughts &stuff
Ermahgerd!!! The end... 👀👀👀😱😄
But first things first... I was so frickin scared going into this. I had a crappy first half of the day and when I got around to having time to watch I hesitated, afraid I'd be disappointed again &turning a crappy into a horrible day... I wasn't.. it didn't.. 😅
Anyway, some scenes and thoughts..
Sibling & "lovers" reunion scene was delightfully awkward &weird.. Wtf Airk? Acting like nothing is wrong.. He guys great you made it!🥴
The cliff scene with the rest of the gang went pretty much exactly as I expected, including Willow not jumping at first.
Meeting unexpectedly hot Crone.. Also not far from what I thought would happen.. I was pretty sure they'd end up caught in an illusion type thing. I had even had considered a wedding scenario once, still surprised that actually happened. A surprise was Madmartigan's involvement.. Hadn't considered that! (It makes me think it really was his voice Kit heard in the treasury in the mines.) Anyway..
