Higuruma is the type of guy to be dead set on one thing, something really gap moe about his character would be the fact that if his dingy old apartment has you in it, he would never leave it for the world. That shoddy apartment is where you've left little markings of your presence and it's where he first got to know you and promised you his life. He's antiromantic but he's also romantic in a way which is subtle and gentle he'd come home tired getting the same old ice cream you're fond of and he'd apologise to you who was sitting on the sofa waiting for him with a small peck and a little smile and a small ruffle to your hair before he would coax you back into bed with a gentle smile even when he's dead tired. Don't get him wrong, he also acts strict with you when you're being a little messy or chaotic around him but his heart still melts when he looks at you. (I might be delusional)(he's so older man coded I love older men)(that man would hug you so comfortingly and let you curl up into and against him at a specially vulnerable time)(AUGH I'm fucking choking up)(I'll see myself out)

General opinion/How much I care about them: Ren Blade Yingxing my beloved beloathed depressed miserable angsty bastard aaaaaaa-
This man, oh my god. This edgy mess is somehow the second fastest blorbo to be coined as such in my blorbo-having history, and I think that alone says a lot. But even if not, he has his special little spot for being: 1) my first HSR fave, 2) my current main (the gameplay is ridiculously fun holy shit), and 3) the reason I downloaded the game at all (shoutout to Bronya, of course, but it was mainly Ren).
Also I really like the fact that he's genuinely batshit insane. An unapologetic menace to the galaxies. He can be so unhinged and evil sometimes, and that's a new flavor of fave in my collection. Did I mention the story doesn't try to redeem him at all? Because it's true! Extremely uncommon win on the hyv writers' part there; doubly so because they manage to balance this aspect with the subtle gap moe they love to give to all their stoic characters.
Yes. Ren is simultaneously edginess incarnate and a tired grandpa that sucks with words and doesn't know shit about technology. Oh and he keeps getting roped into Situations by his colleagues- and goes along with them all the time! The dude was literally asked to pose for a movie cover and he just. did that. No questions asked. Nothing.
I care about him a very normal amount. He's so neat and- oh my god I forgot to mention the aesthetic. Black/blue/red/gold is such a banger color scheme. He also has a spider lily motif and that looks very cool! And the pretty ribbon on the back of his coat is a 10/10 design choice. His only problem is that the game keeps forgetting to edit his silly beta design sneakers out of splash art, and that the washed out jeans clash hard with the coat. But otherwise? Perfection. I could (and did) stare at him for hours on end.
A ship I love: Kafblade is one of those pairs that you can read as romantic or platonic with equal efficacy and I love that for it. They're partners in crime! There's a great sense of trust and faith between them! They're each other's guardian and tether and the one who understands them best and they're such an awesome dynamic, good lord.
Honorable mention goes to jingren for the old man yaoi potential to take the relationship in a very (bitter)sweet or very sad way. There's something to be explored here and I wish canon could give it consideration someday.
A non-romantic relationship that I love: Stellaron Hunter agenda!!! They're so awesome individually and as a group, and the comedy is just lovely. You have Ren wrangling two terribly reckless women because in some way, by some miracle, he happens to be the braincell holder among the three. You have him trailing after Kafka on one of her shopping sprees with a whole bunch of bags and coats, you have him going to an arcade with Silver Wolf because she wanted to show him this brand new game she's been talking about nonstop for four days, and you have him in an impromptu shooting session with them both because they wanted to make silly movie covers and needed an extra actor.
They're one small hilarious family and I adore them so so much, you have no idea. Can't wait until Sam and Elio make an appearance in the story so I get more fuel for shenanigans.
The NOTP: None here sir, as long as the ship is normal it's fine by me.
My biggest headcanon about them: Ren is autistic and you will pry this hc from my cold, dead hands. He's stuck in his own head 80% of the time. He doesn't do conversation at all. Back when he was still Yingxing, he used to spend so much time at the forge when inspiration struck him, to the point of tuning out everything until his friends physically dragged him out to touch grass. He's an autistic nerd through and through, and even several thousand deaths can't take that from him.
An idea for a fanfiction I would like to write/read about them: One idea I've been curious about lately is what would happen in a roleswap scenario, where the Astral Express crew find Ren before the Stellaron Hunters do. He may not make for a great archivist, his state of mind may be less-than-stellar, but it's interesting to imagine the dynamics between him and the crew- and hey, who doesn't love taking sad guys out of situations for a change?
I'm filing this concept for later, just in case. Who knows? The writing ghost visits when I least expect it.
Something that makes me think of them: Everything these days The flute, the sound of wind blowing, red spider lilies, and -to the immense detriment of my composure in public- mentions of the word blade in any context ever. Why gee, thanks for permanently altering my brain chemistry.

I'm just saying that Trigun Stampede S2 has the potential to give us a brand new bonkers twist on Legato: not a man that hates Vash blindly, but a true believer in the Eye of Michael and its teachings. A man who loves with a zealot's abandon not just one Plant twin, but both.
He finds Knives' remains and thinks that his Master was correct, Vash is sick, and it's up to Legato to save him now. He has the means, doesn't he? The (remains of) the Eye of Michael backing him, his powers, his devoutness. His "virtuous" love. It doesn't matter what he has to do, either--destroying cities, killing humans in front of Vash, even keeping him locked away (in the Ark, perhaps) for his own good? All merely further proof of his devotion.
Just imagine, if you will, Vash in S2 still sans memories, suddenly having this total stranger kneeling down before him. (He's so tall, this stranger, tall and beautiful like the vampires in old stories.) Cupping his haggard face, kissing his brow, speaking words of tender salvation. Crying not for the bodies that surround them, artfully mangled like broken toys, but for him.
"I finally found you, Master Vash," the stranger says, his voice elegant even when choked with tears. "The healing can truly begin...!"
That could match Knives' gap moe/fear factor, I think. (All the more so when Knives inevitably comes back!)

Goku Luck Jealous Headcanons
Yuto Inukai -
Albeit being jealous, he feels guilty for feeling this way towards you. He didn't want to bother you about it and often keeps it to himself.
Whilst keeping it to himself, he kept making mistakes on the job, the Goku Luck members noticing and started pitying how he made more mistakes than normal and couldn't keep still (Kenta just lol'ed at the old man).
His more violent persona... on the other hand... is very honest.
A protective arm around your shoulders, he's lecturing you about how you weren't paying attention to him.
Despite being a bit aggressive with his words, it's kind of cute how he was jealous over something so trivial.
Promising that you'd pay more attention to him in the future, he tsk'ed and looked away muttering under his breath about how hopeless you are, though you could see his ears were bright red.
Ryoga Tosa -
He has trouble talking to you about it, often relying on his actions to tell you what he wants you to know.
Despite being hot headed and forward, this time he tries his best to tell you how he really feels. He's always been much more patient with himself when he's with you, doing his best to treat you well and talking to you as much as possible.
He has a habit of pulling and stretching his fingers when he's nervous; pulling at his fingers as he tells you about how he feels jealous when you're not focused on him.
A blush as bright as his hair flushed over his face and ears, his eyes avoiding your eyes.
It was refreshing to see his usually dominant and strong characteristic turned softer as he tries his best to tell you his feelings.
It was gap moe that would make anyone's heart flutter.
Shion Kaida -
An unexpected back hug and a head on your shoulder, Shion pouts as he stares at what you're focused on.
His silence nerved you for a bit, staying in that position he continues to stare silently.
"I'm sad you're not paying attention to me anymore..." He sighs as he plays with your hair, a pout still on his face.
He's not ashamed to let you know that he wants to be the centre of your attention.
Sighing, he sulks as he looks away, waiting for you to (hopefully) apologise and maybe he'll teasingly forgive you.
If you continue to ignore him, he'll probably start sulking for real to the point he'd annoy Kenta and Ryoga about it (complaining and smoking 10x the cigs he normally smokes).
Of course, he'll perk right up the moment you give him a kiss on the cheek as a silent apology, teasing about how you can't resist his charms~ (Kenta and Ryoga in the back like (⊙_⊙)( -_- ))
Kenta Mikoshiba -
The most tsundere of the group, he tries to act like it didn't bother him at all despite obviously seething over it.
He tries to distract himself, hacking into Inukai's data for fun, catfishing the girls messaging him on dating apps with Shion's pictures.
Despite his efforts, he still gets frustrated thinking about how you smiled more at the thing you're focusing on compared to when you're with him.
You were the first one to ask if anything was wrong, his pent up emotions exploding as he tells you how jealous he was.
Your shocked face made him immediately apologise for yelling at you, genuinely worried you were upset but your laughter made him feel more reassured you're fine.
His face flushes red at his confession which makes you laugh even harder as he tries to hide it under his hoodie.
You made sure to give him lots of attention after that.

guess who finished turnabout bigtop…
what the hell was that????? i felt like crying at the end because why was it so sad??
(spoilers under the cut, tw for suicide and mentions of grooming)
the ENTIRE thing was a fever dream. i know it was rushed and literally written under the influence, but GOOD LORD ????? some of the most insufferable characters i’ve ever seen were in this case. i was so tired when i finished it though i think they warmed up to me.
moe was something else, but me and my sister kept laughing so hard whenever he made the sprite like 😐 he was the real mvp of this case though (in a way??) very annoying sometimes though
regina was so bubbly and sparkly and her gimmick was just not working. this case has some of the most gimmick heavy characters, so i genuinely cannot deal with how bad some of them are. the whole plot involving regina was also kind of gross because of the age gaps between max, ben, bat, etc…i do understand her whole thing was about being sheltered and spoiled and unable to cope with bad things and blah blah blah though
big back ben… he was just an uncomfortable character. 31 in love with a 16 year old?? i did like the whole act with him and trilo at least, i like how he almost uses him as an outlet? or that’s what it feels like anyways
i actually did like acro. i thought he was dramatic and kind of an asshole for plotting murder on a 16 year old for an incident that basically killed his brother, but my sister was totally on his side. now i do feel like if the girl who inadvertently caused the death of my brother was in my room every day, taking out my trash and feeding me, and laughing and smiling, showing NO sympathy about what happened and saying “ohhh he became a star :)” i would go a bit insane too. not to mention him being wheelchair bound because of the incident, AND unable to leave the lodge because he lived on the third floor (someone move this poor man to the first floor please) the isolation must’ve been torture with the only person you see being what you see is the cause of all this. when he finally DID have enough of it and executed his murder plan, it didn’t even go right. he instead killed his only family figure he had left, leaving everything he had gone. his legs, his job, his brother, and finally the ringmaster. moe said he was livid when acro found out about the ringmaster’s death, because he didn’t even KNOW who he actually killed. he must have been crushed by that point, and he did contemplate suicide or turning himself in to the police. but he didn’t. because he KNEW bat was still alive, despite being as good as “dead” in the seemingly unshakable coma. he couldn’t kill himself or go to jail, because he needed to be there for his brother on the off chance he even woke up. he’s a murderer, but it wasn’t pure malice. one of the more sympathetic culprits in JFA .
max was funny, but again the whole thing with regina was really weird. i did like how he was a country bumpkin and his real name was billy bob johns and his flamboyant personality was great too
moving on, the whole case in general didn’t feel real. it was all zany and gimmicky, it didn’t seem like it should belong in AA. in fact, nearly all of the cases in JFA feel like a fever dream.
the plot was SO convoluted, and the whole trial parts were actually the worst. i liked the investigations. i think what i love about the investigations in little communities like the circus or global studios or the police department in rise from the ashes is the absolute TEA that the characters give you. like YES can i hear about all these scandals, and dee vasquez’s ties to the mafia and the rumors about edgeworth and blah blah blah… yess girl give me the drama!!
overall, everything felt unnecessary and over the top, but it’s a circus. i guess that was a point. still an absolute batshit case to go through, most insane and annoying story i’ve seen come out of AA so far.
justice for everyone in that fucking circus though. justice for regina too!! shes getting groomed left and right. will never forget this case for like another 10 years. God.

Completely obsessed with Eden. So much so that I started watching Overlord (wonderful decision, thank you for bringing it to my attention)
ITS AN ISEKAI THAT I LIKE SO YOU KNOW ITS GOOD.
There's a lot of things about Overlord I really enjoy, but remember it comes down to personal taste.
Like, I love stories that have a lot of lore and world-building to sink your teeth into.
I love when a story can take a step away from its main character and have others take the spotlight,
I really like subversion (the unique angle of an isekai premise that this anime takes is really interesting to me) and I like when a story focuses on characters, mindgames and strategy with a lot of moving parts but also doesn't make the plot feel like it's moving at a snail's pace. I prefer when a story does this rather than the power fantasy InfinityPlusOne power scaling that a lot of isekai fall into. And yet they also still show off good action sequences and the power disparity between characters! They manage to balance overpowered characters without having no threat, risk, or challenge to them exist and also maintaining intrigue!
It borrows a lot of its magic/race mechanics from D&D, other classic RPGs and MMOs but D&D is the most heavy influence you can see.
I personally believe it has an extra layer of enjoyment for anyone who's had online friends / had ocs with those online friends. (Any friends I have who've watched it have said to me "modsu i love and respect you but if this happened to me i'm sorry but i AM smashing [OC].") Just the way Momonga treasures the creations of his dear friends as an extension of them and their memory IMO it makes him much easier to connect with.
also the contrast between how he acts with others VS his inner thoughts is like. totally my kind of humor LMAO. hearing a grown man in the body of a skeleton go "uwaaah!" never gets old to me idk.
I love a lot of the characters but Shalltear and Albedo hold a special place for me. Thus a lot of inspiration for Eden coming from the latter.
(it probably helps that i also have just as much of a love for gap moe as maruyama does 💀)
Also, Studio Madhouse does a great job with the animation and art direction, and as someone who's usually very picky with dubs I have to admit the dub for this series is very very good! The themes for each season are always bangers too!
The original LN is a lot more detailed but also a lot darker, so viewer/reader discretion.

Had to think about this one for so long since there were so many options (twins, multiple elf men, certain bnnnuy..) but I decided to go with Hilda because she's the first "best girl" in the game for me. I don't even have proper propaganda on why I like her, just that I saw her during HW and immediately went heart eyes at her. ^^' Poor girl doesn't get enough love, being mostly sidelined by the story, but every time she appears (as art on dash or in a quest) my day is a little better.
Emet-Selch
I kinda debated on putting him as 3rd but eh, he'll get to be 4th. I originally did not care for the rat man too much, which in hindsight is hilarious - when have I not liked an overly dramatic antagonist whose so tired and done™ but still keeps doing things like he's on a theatre stage at all times? Emotional hurt (both from him and us) was a delicious bonus.
Zenos
People are really divided on him, but I ended up liking him a lot. Strong enough to beat WoL twice? Like thrice the size of my min height catboy? Only has eyes for WoL and keeps spouting poetic (and weirdly romantic) lines about how much he wants you two to fight? Good stuff.
G'raha Tia
Beloved catted boy... Goofy nerd who means well and is just happy to help. His bratty attitude was fun, but it was the gap moe Exarch who eventually sold his character to me. Cool and mysterious leader first, only to clearly blush under his hood the second he gets to talk to you? Cuuuute~ Also the whole "if fate takes you away I'll figure out how to change it" thing, I'm very weak to those.
Hythlodaeus
I actually really liked him back on ShB already. Somehow his ween woon voice and gentle demeanor just clicked right away. My new old friend.. Then they did the whole face reveal and he has lived rent free in my head since then. And that talk about Azem and Emet? He deserves to spend eternity happy with them.

Okay okay. You got any submas/blankship pet peeves?
Hoo boy. Yeah I definitely do. I'm really not a fan of either of them being Truly damsel-y and need to be taken care of by the other. Like if its an illness/injury situation then of course they can be taken care of. But I've seen some interpretations of one brother being fully dependent on the other and I'm not really the biggest fan of that (unless its forced dependency in a whump context, then there can be some exceptions).
I don't really like when people forget that Emmet is the Strategy Guy. I get all the fun of having him be head empty about Ingo, but sometimes it feels like that fun makes people forget that if Emmet has a goal, he's less likely to make silly and dumb mistakes because his whole thing is being able to form perfect strategies to overcome any obstacle. Emmet can be a dumb ass at times, but when it really matters, he can be very calculated. Also Emmet is Honest and Blunt to a fault, so seeing him being a manipulative liar doesn't sit right with me.
And I don't really like it when Ingo is written as being mean or rude or rough or grumpy or overly serious as a Default. The point of Ingo is that he is sweet, happy, supportive and dramatic, and the Gap Moe is half the appeal of these dorks in the first place. Or when they make him, especially Warden Ingo like a stoic badass macho type. Warden Ingo is only really different from loud dramatic campy Ingo because he's traumatized and depressed. This man needs his brother back and some therapy and he'll be back to his old way in no time.
These are my pet peeves, but that doesn't mean that I think content that contains these interpretations are inherently Bad. They're just really not for me and won't be featured in my own work.

have u given any thought to what Mori and Vlad would be like drunk. would it be a good time or a bad time
oh i’ve certainly thought about it.
well to start with the actual game we’ve seen moriarty actually drinking twice to my knowledge, so there is sort of something to go off of there. now he was certainly playing it up in shinjuku since it was basically just to bait yan qing, but he was also in the “drunkards” cutscene in enma-tei which we can probably take as a bit more indicative.
by the time in this cutscene that, like, jing ke and tristan are absolutely hammered, moriarty is one of the characters (alongside munenori) that’s still acting basically normal. we don’t technically know what he ordered (everyone ordered different drinks so the abv could be all over the place), but based on these being some of the heaviest drinkers we can at least reasonably assume he has a higher tolerance from this cutscene.
as for the actual question of “what do you think he’s actually like when drunk” i imagine he could be prone to getting pretty silly if drunk enough given how often he defaults to acting ridiculous even when sober, but definitely not actually as prone as he was in shinjuku. and even when he’s drinking he’s still trying to talk to anne+mary about dubious business opportunities and thinking about blackmail, so moriarty being drunk at all is probably a bad time insofar as 90% of the time it’s actually kind of just another avenue with which he can somehow cause problems.
well, personally, just loosely based on how moriarty’s been depicted sleeping a bit more often than some other servants, i like to imagine that if he actually gets really drunk he just gets tired after being silly and insufferable for a bit and then falls the fuck asleep. it’s what happens to me. the old man experience of drunkenness.
vlad’s a bit trickier, he’s never been depicted drunk and you can kinda go either way with him. he is obviously depicted as drinking red wine all the goddamn time, but we also don’t necessarily know, like, how many glasses he actually tends to have. we did see him absolutely shoot back an entire glass one time in apoc but that may have been… animation weirdness. is he a glass-a-day guy? multiple? we dunno. he is shown with some kind of cocktail in KJJ, while in old spider he’s not actually in-character (thank you kogetsukan very cool) but it’s implied that “he” doesn’t like the taste of liquor, which by default we’ll ignore but you can take for vlad depending on how you like to interpret kogetsukan-flavor-fuckery. either way, i’d assume his tolerance is lower than moriarty’s, at least.
it’s basically down to if you prefer keeping up with the bit of vlad being an immovable wall even when drunk and being immune from all the goddamn red wine, or if you prefer the gap moe of him being a worse drunk than expected if he actually has something higher abv than just wine. personally i lean towards the latter. i like to imagine vlad probably gets… quiet, if ever really drunk. quiet, but still kind of intense, probably feeling things more strongly than he usually does. it probably brings out his tsundere tendencies even worse than normal. also, vlad’s the one with an actual blushing sprite ingame, so i also like to imagine he gets a drunk blush pretty quickly. i think if vlad was properly hammered it would be like dealing with a moody, oversized cat. i think this would be cute. maybe not actually necessarily a good time.
basically i think both of them would be insufferable in their own unique ways. vlad and moriarty could probably be decent drinking buddies at first, but amusingly difficult if they both actually got drunk.

I never said Aina was Osakan so she has an accent...it's so charming actually. If they English dubbed her they'd give her a country accent. It's also very interesting because it's like gap moe between her talking like an old man and swearing also she's a hashtag #girl. Somehow it reminds me of like Yves being from Busan.

my thoughts on 4.0 update!! spoilers below!!
I was taking so many screenshots when neuvillette first showed up goddamn that man has a chokehold on me. He's a lot more gentle and polite than I expected lol. And apparently it rains when he cries omg this man is such a green flag (hydro dragon hydro dragon don't cry)!!! i love an old man with gap moe!! I also like how even though he's clearly older and more powerful than he looks, he's not all-knowing either (or at least he's good at pretending to be that), so it'll be interesting to see how the fontaine problem will be solved
i get why furina might be divisive to a lot of people but I personally find her really endearing. Yeah she's pretty obnoxious but I always had a soft spot for girlflops with a conscience
i really love navia and her model is so beautiful (i was literally staring at her every time she showed up)
childe...omg...ngl i laughed a little when neuvillette one-shotted him (childe stans please don't come at me)
Also his interactions with the traveler...boy...
i was caught off guard by the skirk mention but I'm glad they are incorporating more of the characters' backstories in the main story
freminet is cute
diving is so fun although i'm really bad at dodging
the world quest chains are really fun as well although they leave a lot of questions
the narzissenkreuz ordo seems like it will become the b-plot of the region which is great bc i am pretty invested in their story
also i saw neuvillette's battle animations...ngl the floating is a bit goofy but his burst???? i am going all out for this man

i just finished the story of pokemon scarlet.... bro that last chapter is no joke........ i’m in shambles....
it feels very conflicting though because on one hand i don’t think a pokemon game has made me feel this way since black/white and that is saying a LOT, black was one of my first pokemon games that i played during summer break as a 14 year old and it changed my life. altered the trajectory of my life if you will.
with previous more “recent” titles like sun/moon, oras, sword/shield, of course i got caught up in them and enjoyed them, but i didn’t get super emotionally attached to any characters. lillie is an exception but in comparison to what b/w made me feel, s/m was only like, 60% the way there, and sw/sh would be like 20% (as fun as the game was, it was over fast and i didn’t feel like i was savoring it as much). also i don’t knock on sw/sh for its length, as short as it is, pokemon chiefly is a kids’ video game and usually the bulk of the hours you put in is for completing the dex lol. but yeah, the writing in sw/sh didn’t feel that memorable nor did it have much emotional impact on me.

with scarlet, aside from nemona (lol, but i do like her), the subplots for the rivals really tugged at my heartstrings... i didn’t really care for team star when i started their missions, after all i don’t care about getting LP or extra TMs when my team is already good, but as i continued with it i was like... ah... bonds of friendship is the true power... *tear running down my face*.
AND THEN ARVEN. HOO BOY.
i cannot believe game freak has managed to make me feel for a boy what i did for n. this is saying so much if you know me and how insane i can be about n. game freak said here is a boy you will react to in a way that parallels how you reacted to n a full 10 years ago. both the 🥰 and 😭 emotions. THE ABANDONMENT ISSUES... AND THEN HE’S DEDICATING HIMSELF TO HELPING HIS DOG RECOVER?????!!! i was specifically targeted...
i also lost my childhood dog at the beginning of 2022, who in a way mirrors what mabosstiff is to arven for me... my dog was the only one in the house i could feel understood and loved by while i dealt with childhood trauma. so you know of course that would do me in emotionally T_T
there is also the whole gap moe and kinda grumpy but sincere senpai but he’s relying on you thing that makes me *clenches fist* but that’s besides the point
i was already enjoying myself taking my time with the gyms, team star, titans, exploring everywhere to get pokeballs/items, trying to complete the pokedex, shiny hunting and what not, so the final chapter really took me by surprise since i didn’t fully know what to expect...? i already liked the main cast but i didn’t feel a deep connection to all of them as a group because the subplots are all standalone/focused on each individual character. i did see all my friends sobbing over the last chapter (censored for spoilers obv) but man... they were right... i was surprised by how in-depth the section was. i’d say if you don’t explore too much (which is what i did on foot regrettably, takes 10x longer) the chapter is maybe 3ish hours long? which isn’t super long, but the dialogue sprinkled in really fleshes out the characters and establishes a bond between them that feels incredibly real and believable, even in the context of just a pokemon game. that’s what really took me by surprise.
i’m gonna be honest for the majority of the chapter my mouth was just open and i was like
and that’s even WITH seeing vague spoilers/hints and some screenshots out of context. so i had some vague idea about what was going on but i was STILL surprised by the turn of events and how ... like... everything fit together in a very believable way. and another thing, with most pokemon games all stakes depend on you as the player for whatever plot there is (stopping team aqua/magma, saving the world, stopping some capitalist dude, etc.) but the stakes in scarvio felt so much higher. obviously you know you’re going to save the day etc. but in the midst of it i was like 😳 hello???? bruh?
i joked to a friend last week about this being game freak’s answer to botw (he hasn’t played scarvio) but i’m ngl this takes it beyond what botw did for me... botw’s magic lies in the beauty of its world and fucking around, and maybe some of the npcs (like, yeah, i did get very into the bits of lore and link characterization of it, i won’t downplay that) but i feel like the plot and characters in scarvio are just so... polished? of course the games are different and have different purposes. but it managed to make me experience a hint of the youthful wonder and hope i felt as a 14 year old playing emerald and b/w all day and night long during summer vacation again... it’s that essence that really stands out. IT’S THE FOUND FAMILY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! THE ESSENCE OF YOUTH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! FINDING YOUR TREASURE/WHAT YOU CHERISH MOST IN LIFE AND HOLDING ON TO THAT AS YOU FACE THE FUTURE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
but all this just makes me incredibly sad because you know this game was rushed to hell to meet a deadline. and that’s disrespectful to the amount of love and thought put into this game’s worldbuilding, characters, and story. they deserved the time needed to ship the game in its best form, not the buggy state it’s in. all the fantastic aspects of the game are marred by bugs, glitches, and the fact that the switch is constantly struggling to run the game--my game crashed at least two times, and i feel like that’s lower than others’ experiences (luckily i didn’t lose any significant progress both times, but the fear of the game crashing did hang over me anytime i ran around or even talked to the pokemon center person 😭). even the credits lagged for me and i was like ... this doesn’t ruin the immersion but i’m smiling wryly to myself rn.
i 100% don’t regret buying and playing the game but i do wish i’d been able to buy and play the game in better circumstances... i was vehemently in the “i refuse to buy it right now in the state it’s in and contribute to the message to the pokemon company that this speed of putting out subpar quality games for faster buck is ok” but i caved because i saw my friend playing it (she caved because her boyfriend got it). 😔

Ooh I'm so curious about your Anakin and obi wan time travel fic!
WELP!! Thank you for the ask! I got so into cleaning up what I had in order to answer you, I actually went ahead and got the first chapter clean enough to publish!
Ended up calling it "A New Path", I had to save my originality! xD
Anyway, it started as an idea from baby-fandom me. I had just blazed through Elfpen's Reprise series, as well as some delicious Hannibal time travel fics, and I was determined to do my own take. All I was reading was single travelers. Obi-Wan goes back in the past, or Anakin goes back (Or Will, or Hannibal...) And the dynamic is with one-sided knowledge of the future. So I figured it would be fun to have them both go back instead, and not from the same time, but from the moment of their death.
Lots of whump follows, since I love writing dialogue and these two have a lot of catching up to do, but ultimately I built things up to these two youthful grandpas going to bully Yan Dooku. The joy was in the sheer gap moe of a reforming Vader in a 10 yo body, an Obi-Wan who's fully over it, and their insane team tactics on their way to take Sidious down.

Here's a bit of said Dooku bullying, though it's not as polished as the published bit. Yan is making Obi-Wan and Anakin wait and observes them via security feed :
His grandpadawan's attitude had been peculiar enough in his first message. Something is going on with him beyond the grief of Qui-Gon's recent passing, something Yan can't put a finger on. He has never met Obi-Wan Kenobi in person however, and is left guessing. Kenobi's own padawan, a ten-year-old boy if the Order's records can be trusted, is far beyond "peculiar".
'I still doubt this will work,' he says, brushing back his bangs. 'And I do not believe we're in a position to waste our time so frivolously.'
He paces by the windows of the lounge Yan's servant led them to, stopping now and then to stare outside before turning sharply on his heels and scanning the room with the bored air of someone who has played the waiting game too many times.
'Patience, Anakin,' Kenobi counters mildly. 'Our actions are what gains us time.'
'I still think we should have gone to Tatooine first.'
'We did.'
'But we did not stay,' the child snaps, pointing an accusatory finger at his master. 'We could have achieved a lot more there. Do not deny it.'
No child should speak this way, let alone to their master. Yet Kenobi reclines on his couch, fingers crossed over his chest, following the vagaries of his padawan from hooded eyes, a soft smile on his lips. He seems entirely unbothered by the haughty tone and formal speech patterns.
'Shmi is safe and the rest of Tatooine can wait. Dooku cannot.'
'He's already lost to us already. Look!'
The child encompasses the view from the window with a sweep of his arm, then extends the other to take in the residence itself. It's old and lavish, his family's seat of power. Yan knows exactly what the boy is trying to say, and it stings.
'My friend, I think you are misguided in this,' Obi-Wan says. 'I have faith that we will find my grandmaster reasonable, whenever he's ready to come and greet us.'
With these words the young man turns his head and looks squarely at Yan. So, he spotted the camera. Yan wouldn't expect any less from Qui-Gon's prized pupil. Yet he doesn't feel ready to greet the strange duo.
