I love that Nightow wrote this impactful, moving story about love and grief, with some of the most compelling characters out there, and just lovely artwork... and then named it Trigun because the main character has three guns

on christmas eve, a smartly dressed villain violently takes control of a tower which has something very valuable hidden inside a vault. he verbally spars with the protagonist whilst his henchmen work to get through the many complicated locks on the vault. the protagonist triumphs and saves the denizens of the tower when the villain falls from a high window to his (presumed) death.

the funny thing about rand al'thor is that other characters (rightfully) complain about how stubborn he is but like he was never going to be anything else. on the one hand he was raised in two rivers, the middle of nowhere villages that no one knows much about except that they export wool and tabac and god help you if you need to convince those mulish assholes of anything. on the other hand one of his birth parents was an aiel, the people of till shade is gone till water is gone into the shadow with teeth bared screaming defiance with the last breath etc etc. and on the other hand one of his birth parents was tigraine mantear. rand never stood a chance.
