Someone asked me how I created the fade transition in this gifset which I’ll try to explain in the most comprehensive way that I can. If you've never done something like this before, I suggest reading through the full tutorial before attempting it so you know what you'll need to plan for.

To follow, you should have:

basic knowledge of how to make gifs in photoshop

some familiarity with the concept of how keyframes work

patience

Difficulty level: Moderate/advanced

Prep + overview

First and foremost, make the two gifs you'll be using. Both will need to have about the same amount of frames.

For ref the gif in my example is 540x540.

I recommend around 60-70 frames max total for a big gif, which can be pushing it if both are in color, then I would aim for 50-60. My gif has a total of 74 frames which I finessed using lossy and this will be explained in Part 4.

⚠️ IMPORTANT: when overlaying two or more gifs and when using key frames, you MUST set your frame delay to 0.03 fps for each gif, which can be changed to 0.05 fps or anything else that you want after converting the combined canvas back into frames. But both gifs have to be set to 0.03 before you convert them to timeline to avoid duplicated frames that don't match up, resulting in an unpleasantly choppy finish.

Part 1: Getting Started

Drag one of your gifs onto the other so they're both on the same canvas.

The gif that your canvas is fading FROM (Gif 1) should be on top of the gif it is fading INTO (Gif 2).

And here's a visual of the order in which your layers should appear by the end of this tutorial, so you know what you're working toward achieving:

Part 2: Creating the grid

Go to: View > Guides > New guide layout

I chose 5 columns and 5 rows to get the result of 25 squares.

The more rows and columns you choose, the more work you'll have to do, and the faster your squares will have to fade out so keep that in mind. I wouldn't recommend any more than 25 squares for this type of transition.

To save time, duplicate the line you've created 3 more times, or as many times as needed (key shortcut: CMD +J) and move each one to align with the guides both horizontally and vertically. You won't need to recreate the lines on the edges of the canvas, only the ones that will show.

After you complete this step, you will no longer need the guides so you can go back in and clear them.

Follow the same duplicating process for the squares with the rectangle tool using the lines you've created.

Align the squares inside the grid lines. The squares should not overlap the lines but fit precisely inside them.

This might take a few tries for each because although to the eye, the squares look all exactly the same size, you'll notice that if you try to use the same duplicated square for every single one without alterations, many of them will be a few pixels off and you'll have to transform the paths to fit.

To do this go to edit > transform path and hold down the command key with the control key as you move one edge to fill the space.

Once you're done, put all the squares in their separate group, which needs to be sandwiched between Gif 1 and Gif 2.

Right click Gif 1 and choose "create clipping mask" from the drop down to mask it to the squares group. This step is super important.

After this point, I also took the opacity of the line groups down to about 40% so the lines wouldn't be so bold. Doing this revealed some squares that needed fixing so even if you aren't going dim the lines, I recommend clicking off the visibility of the lines for a moment to make sure everything is covered properly.

Part 3A: Prep For Key framing

I wanted my squares to fade out in a random-like fashion and if you want the same effect, you will have to decide which squares you want to fade out first, or reversely, which parts of Gif 2 you want to be revealed first.

In order to see what's going on underneath, I made Gif 1 invisible and turned down the opacity of the squares group.

If you want text underneath to be revealed when the squares fade away, I would add that now, and place the text group above Gif 2, but under the squares group.

Make a mental note that where your text is placed and the order in which it will be revealed is also something you will have to plan for.

With the move tool, click on the first square you want to fade out. Every time you click on a square, it will reveal itself in your layers.

I chose A3 to be the first square to fade and I'm gonna move this one to the very top of all the other square layers.

So if I click on D2 next, that layer would need to be moved under the A3 layer and so on. You'll go back and forth between doing this and adding key frames to each one. As you go along, it's crucial that you put them in order from top to bottom and highly suggested that you rename the layers (numerically for example) which will make it easier to see where you've left off as your dragging the layers into place.

Part 3B: Adding the Keyframes

This is where we enter the gates of hell things become tedious.

Open up the squares group in the timeline panel so you can see all the clips.

Here is my example of the general pattern that's followed and its corresponding layers of what you want to achieve when you're finished:

So let’s try it!

Expand the control time magnification all the way to the right so you can see every frame per second.

As shown in Part 3A, select your first chosen square.

Where you place the time-indicator on the panel will indicate the placement of the keyframe. Click on the clock next to opacity to place your first keyframe.

Move the time-indicator over 3 frames and place the next key frame.

Things to consider before moving forward:

Where you place your very first keyframe will be detrimental. If you're using a lot of squares like I did, you may have to start the transition sooner than preferred.

If you're doing 25 squares, the key frames will have to be more condensed which means more overlapping because more frames are required to finish the transition, verses if you're only using a 9-squared grid. See Part 4 for more detailed examples of this.

The opacity will remain at 100% for every initial key frame, and the second one will be at 0%.

Instead of creating two keyframes like this and changing the opacities for every single clip, you can copy the keyframes and paste them onto the other clips by click-dragging your mouse over both of them and they'll both turn yellow. Then right click one of the keyframes and hit copy.

Now drop down to your next clip, move your time-indicator if necessary to the spot where the first keyframe will start and click the clock to create one. Then right click it and hit "paste".

Tip: When you have both keyframes selected, you can also move them side to side by click-dragging one of them while both are highlighted.

Your full repetitive process in steps will go as follows:

click on square of choice on the canvas

drag that square layer to the top under the last renamed

in timeline panel: drop down to next clip, move time-indicator tick to your chosen spot for the next keyframe

create new keyframe

right click new keyframe & paste copied keyframes

repeat until you've done this with every square in the group

Now you can change the opacity of your squares layer group back to 100% and turn on the visibility of Gif 1. Then hit play to see the magic happen.

PART 4: Finished examples

Example 1

the transition starts too soon Cause: initial keyframe was placed at frame 0

the squares fade away too quickly Cause: overlapping keyframes, seen below. (this may be the ideal way to go with more squares, but for only 9, it's too fast)

Example 2

transition wraps up at a good point Cause: in this instance, the first keyframe was placed 9 frames in, and the keyframes are not overlapping. The sequential pair starts where the last pair ended, creating a slower fade of each square.

Part 5: Final Tips and Saving

You can dl my save action here which will convert everything back into frames, change the frame rate to 0.05 and open the export window so you can see the size of the gif immediately.

If it's over 10gb, one way to finesse this is by use of lossy. By definition, lossy “compresses by removing background data” and therefore quality can be lost when pushed too far. But for most gifs, I have not noticed a deterioration in quality at all when saving with lossy until you start getting into 15-20 or higher, then it will start eating away at your gif so keep it minimal.

If you've done this and your gif is losing a noticeable amount of quality and you still haven’t gotten it below 10gb, you will have no choice but to start deleting frames.

When it comes to transitions like this one, sometimes you can't spare a single frame and if this is the case, you will have to return to the timeline state in your history and condense the key frames to fade out quicker so you can shorten the gif. You should always save a history point before converting so you have a bookmark to go back to in case this happens.

Hey babe! I think we talked about this a while ago. But I agree with you, fandom it doesn't feel like fandom anymore.

I write about different ships and for every one of those ships, people just don't engage with the community. And that's not just with fics, now that i'm doing more gifset (and yeah i know they're not the best), they get more likes than anything else.

I know i should do it for myself, but at least it's good to see my pairs enjoying and celebrating the work i put into the fandom. And I try to do it, when i read something i comment/reblog it or directly comment with the author. Or reblog the gifset i really enjoy.

Fandom should be a community, without the human interaction there's no point in 'fandom'. Like you said, we're not going to be friends with 100 people but at least we should be kind with each other, we love the same thing that's what it link us together.

Cata my love! Yes, we have talked about this. I think gifsets/art edits are so much easier for people to engage in. WE can look at them, we can like it, we can oooh and ah and then quickly move on.

Fic takes time. We need to be in the headspace, and I think that's a lot of why short fic/light on plot fic does very well. People don't always want to click onto another website to read, or might get interrupted and not come back.

We write for ourselves, first and foremost, right? We write for ourselves because we want to tell this story, but if we want stories to read, we have to engage on some level. I had someone start reading my fic because the saw my name and recognized my comments they saw on another fic. How cool is that!

And comments never have to be indepth and essays. I make it a policy in my author's notes to say: I want to hear from you. Second kudos or a heart emoji. I just want to know you're here. I try to ask questions too about 'hey what did you think of xyz'.

Fandom was founded on community, of joining together and giggling and yelling about the shared thing we liked and holding up the fun things we made. And with the commercialization (capitalism?) of fandom, now it's just... churn the content. And if you aren't a content churner, good luck engaging I guess.

Keep writing your stories, keep linking, be kind to your fellow creators and reblog the things that look interesting, that you think your friends might find interesting.

I'm a gifmaker as well, and lately I've been dedicated myself to making stimboards with proper crediting. One of the gifs I wanted to make use of is in this [ https://www.tumblr.com/build-a-stim/737800097205764096/cuddlesome-teddy-bear-2023-x-x-x?source=share ] stimboard, the macaron one on the top row. The link leads to a dead blog titled "charmyspad", reverse image search leads to nowhere, and looking for any other instance of that blog has proven unsuccessful! If you could at all help me out sourcing the gif, or even the source video itself, I would be immensely grateful.

I could not find the source gif, nor the gif maker, it seems it may have been made in 2017 as far as I can see, and gifs made that far back in time tend to get lost incredibly easily. However, I did find the original video source. Here it is.

I have decided I will be taking it upon myself to re-gif old gifsets that have since been lost, given that the source video is still able to be located. Therefore, I will be updating this post with a link to my gifset when it is posted.

So, I found out the hard way this morning that people you have blocked are still able to add your gifs to their posts through the gif searching function. Tumblr's wonderful blocking system (/s) will only stop you from seeing those notifications and prevent the person from interacting with your OP. It does nothing to help you stop shitty people from adding them to any posts that they make.

And I'm not gonna lie, I am really, REALLY pissed about this and seriously considering no longer posting any gifs on this site going forward.

I am fully aware that there is no way for me to stop people from outright stealing my gifs and I've never been too fussed about trying to prevent that. That's why I don't watermark any of my gifs. They aren't made with photoshop and they are FAR from being perfect, so I made the decision early on to more-or-less wash my hands of what happens with my gifsets once they're posted. I make these for my own enjoyment first and foremost, so whether people hate them or love them I don't really care too much either way.

But it is WILDLY different to now know that my gifs can be accessed through a direct tumblr feature by people that I have specifically decided that I don't want accessing my content. It is VERY different to see my gifs with my URL automatically attached thanks to tumblr being used in text posts to express sentiments that I strongly disagree with. It is, in fact, incredibly distressing to know that no amount of blocking will be able to prevent TERFs, racists, and general assholes from using something I've created to promote viewpoints that run directly contrary to my own and that my URL will be forever attached to those posts via my gifs.

And unless tumblr makes changes to both the block feature and the gif search function, there's absolutely nothing I can do about this except stop posting gifs and remove what I've already posted - assuming that deleting the OPs will even remove my gifs from the search function.

Honestly that uncertainty about how the gif search actually works is the only thing stopping me from mass deleting everything in my #myedit tag today. I know that's a nuclear option and it's one that I genuinely do NOT want to have to take, especially not while my emotions are still running high about this.

But I post new gifsets weekly and there are two month's worth already sitting in my drafts waiting to go. And it's very hard to look at them today without wondering which specific gifs are going to end up being reposted back into the tags or added to inflammatory text posts, now without my knowledge at all because I don't get notifications of this from people I already have blocked.

I genuinely don't know what I'm going to do about this going forward. I schedule my new sets to be posted every Tuesday, so today's already went put before I found out about any of this, but if you don't see anything new from me next week... Well, you'll know what decision I made then, I guess.

for real tho in regard to my last rb, i genuinely dont understand why there’s been this downturn in reblogs over the last 5+ years. like we are not lying when we say that, in the past, reblogs used to be the MAJORITY of the notes on lots of posts. like, if anything, it used to be a pretty even 50/50 split, but i do remember when people’s art and giftsets and fanfics would have more reblogs than likes.

now you’re LUCKY if you get more than 20% of your notes being reblogs. like did people forget how this site works? did people just stop enjoying things? do people want to hide their interests? what is it?

sure, the rise in cringe culture is partially to blame, and people want to enjoy things in private so they just like it to hide their “cringe” but listen. cringe is dead. and think about how HAPPY you’ll make someone by reblogging the thing they put so much time and effort into.

but i also don’t understand it because. trying to find something again in your likes just totally sucks. it’s like your twitter page but worse. endless scrolling with no easy way to find something again. if you reblog it, it’s stuck on your blog forever, and can be found again! like, maybe this is just me as an artist, and so i LOVE reblogging gifsets from shows and whatnot and keeping a neat set of tags for all of them so I can go back and use them for reference.

I been trying to put into words some feelings I been having over the new ep and fandoms reaction. And look this is just me venting so please don’t sent hate.

First and foremost I can’t begin to tell you as someone who is bi how important this storyline and that ep with Buck is. How important them making Buck canonically bi is. There was a part of me that thought they’re not gonna do it but they did. My journey hasn’t been the same as Buck but in some ways I figured stuff out about my sexuality later in life too. When I was a kid I knew something was different but ultimately thought I was straight, and then as an older teen I came out as a gay, and only in my 30s did I realize I was bi. Not the same exactly as Buck or of other people who don’t realize or can’t except that part of themselves at all until later in life but still a journey. And I think it's so important for everyone lgbtq and straight to see that sexuality isn't this rigid box it's a part of us that can grow and change as we do.

I feel very personally connected to Buck and his storyline so I’m not trying to hate on it or him. And no matter who that kiss was with I’m glad Buck wanted it and he was happy and it awakened parts of him he’s likely not wanted to face or known how to face before now.

I also know Buck being bi exists separately from Buddie and is incredibly important whether Buddie were to happen or not. I have tremendous faith Buddie is going to happen eventually especially with how the storyline has been going and how the actors and Tim have talked about it. I also know Tommy isn’t sticking around. I guess I’m just missing our boys together. That episode was tough to watch in some ways because Buck felt like he couldn’t get Eddie’s attention (which is to be clear whose attention he actually wanted) and so right now we’re seeing the guys a bit disjointed which will continue it seems for some of the next ep.

Plus I’ve been seeing Buck/Tommy all over my dash and everywhere else online and it’s like again I get why I’m not telling anyone not to be excited over this ep. I am too.

I think part of it is I’m not a multishipper. Buddie is one of my favorite ships ever and I don’t like thinking of them with anyone else. I think it’s possible to be excited and happy about Buck coming out and about 911 finally doing this storyline while also wishing the guy he was kissing was Eddie. Again I know Buddie has to take time to happen it’s a slow burn and all that but we’ve also waited years.

It’s hard watching people love how Tommy kisses Buck or calls him Evan (which tbh I hate) or wondering what their ship name is. I've even seen people say they want Tommy to stay for awhile and some have even said they don't care if Buddie even happens now. I’m also starting to see Tommy/Buck fics clutter up the Buddie tag on ao3. People are even making gifsets comparing Buddie and Buck and Tommy basically saying Tommy treats Buck better.

I know the ep just aired and I know everyone is just enjoying how momentous this is and celebrating that it’s finally canon what we saw in Buck all along, still it feels like some people are already forgetting about Buddie.

And I know it's better that Buck has his first queer experience with someone else and gets to know himself better before Buddie happens officially. I know neither he or Eddie are ready for their relationship to move into that space just yet. I just love them and want to see them together finally. I don't want to see people forget about the amazing relationship we've watched grow over six years because whatever Tommy and Buck will share it won't compare to that. Eddie is Buck’s person and vice versa and I can’t wait for the day these two idiots figure that out.

what an excellent question that will be understood by two and a half people in total jgkdfjgfdjgfdkg no but it will be fun for me to answer so i'm not complaining

credit where credit is due, anon and i only thought of this because of this amazing gifset by the wonderful @sparklyeyedhimbo

i know we've only had one episode, but i honestly think top is as shallow as a fucking puddle and what we've already seen of his slightly more hidden manipulations is as deep as he gets. personality-wise, i think he would be chuckles (aka humorous) - i think he'd be very charming and sarcastic, always scheming but rarely directly aggressive. and speaking of being indirect, he also gives me double-wielding rogue vibes all the way - a backstabber both literally and metaphorically.

in terms of the party, i reckon he'd have a pretty antagonistic relationship with all of them, to various degrees. don't get me wrong, this man can act extremely appealing to literally anyone he'd like to fuck, but the thing about the da2 party is i think each of them has been through so much shit that they are not naive enough to fall for any of it. i'm not sure if we know top's sexuality atm, but out of all da2 companions, the only person who could potentially fuck top would be isabela, and she would do it because she would know exactly who he is as a person and not because she is oblivious to it.

speaking of isabela, i stand by what i said in the tags - she would think he's occasionally funny and extremely alluring. but, as i said, at the end of the day she'd see right through him, so it would be a line between understanding his selfishness and his way of thinking and simultaneously keeping to herself because of the very same thing. anyone who befriended or romanced izzy knows that creating that deep connection with her implies loyalty to her and certain... if not sacrifices then difficult choices that make hawke's life harder because they are trying to help her. that's not something top would do in a million years. i am honestly a bit on the fence on whether she would even return with the relic at the end of act 2, but if she does, top would give her over to the arishok without blinking an eye.

it's kind of hard to make varric disapprove of any hawke, to be completely honest, and i think top would actually be pretty chill with him, because he's a funny guy. and he's helpful. but when push comes to shove, top would still be a dick, and the whole bartrand / red lirium situation would be dealt with in the worst way possible, which would strain their relationship quite a bit.

bethany is a sweet little girl and she loves her sibling dearly, to the point that i believe it's literally impossible to max out a rivalry with her in game no matter what you do. but since top seems like a very "ends justify the means" guy and his ends are very selfish, he'd do some things bethany wouldn't be a fan of. i don't think top would really care about the mage / templar conflict, but he would be choosing the routes that save his own skin first and foremost, which are rarely the pro-mage routes, and that would definitely sour his relationship with bethany.

merrill, i reckon, would have a very distant relationship with top and would probably just try to stay away from him as often as possible. aveline and sebastian (along with andraste on his crotch) would be very *clutches the pearls* about him and would dislike him severely. however, i don't think anyone would hate top as much as fenris and anders. his special brand of selfishness, over-confidence, and bravado is something both of them would hate in ways more similar than they could ever admit.

in general, i think top would always choose what's best for him. he wouldn't ask a lot of questions about who it would otherwise benefit or why, who it could hurt, etc. he would help, but only if you paid him. he would lie and he would cheat, if that served him better in the moment, and he would be honest and direct, if that was the choice that would lead to him coming out on top (pun intended). he wouldn't care about what's right or what's good, he would very much only care about himself.

this kind of makes it a bit harder to make out what his final decision in terms of the conflict would be, because - unless a hawke vehemently supports templars throughout the whole game, which top would not do, or a hawke is a mage, which top wouldn't be - there isn't really anything personal that one would gain in siding with either. at that point, it is simply a moral choice. with a very easy answer, obviously supporting mages is the only right choice, but it's easy for people who actually care about doing the right thing, which top obviously doesn't give a shit about. but at the end of the day, i think h would side with the mages, if not for any reason other than him enjoying chaos and having a deep-rooted value of freedom.

so yes, that's the general vibe i'm getting from Top Hawke jgkldfjgklfdjkgl. thank you so much for asking, this was fun!!

Context: After getting character hate on my gifset, I added a comment in the reply section kindly asking people to not put character hate in the tags of my gifset. (Which, I'm learning... may be a crime...)

Are you for real? I'm not out here making gifs like it's some sort of public service. lol! 😂 I'm nowhere near so magnanimous. I'll be as partial as I want. I can, and I am, and I will be.

I gif things I like.

For me.

I gif them for me.

I share them in case other people are interested. (I often like things in atypical ways, and if I can give another fan a drink of water in the desert, that's great.) Same principle with my art and fics. Sometimes they get attention and sometimes they don't. I'm fine either way because all of it is created, first and foremost, by me for me. (Unless expressly stated that it is a gift.) If I see it, then the target audience is reached. So when I make something (for me), no, I don't want to see negativity on it. And that's my right. I'm allowed to not like that when I spend an afternoon making a gifset and there are tags like "[favorite character] should die." I'm allowed to say I would prefer not seeing more of that.

But in your mind, I should grin and bear it and... Well, I'm not even sure what the upside is. I'm not much into suffering for strangers. (You know I'm not getting paid per gif, right?)

If you can't abide by one ridiculously tiny rule, just don't reblog my stuff. That means it's simply not FOR YOU! It's not for you to use as a conduit and canvas for character hate. If you are emotionally incapable of reblogging something without putting hate on it when asked, that is a you problem. Kindly keep your problems away from me and my stuff.

I never said people have to like Fisk. I've been a fan of the character for 9 years. I'm quite aware of the fact people don't like him. I only asked that they not brag about hating him on my post. You understand these two things are separate, right? Tell me you understand they're different things. If they want to make their own post and cuss him to Hell and back, that's their prerogative. They can do it elsewhere.

"The show is about Maya." Big duh. But did you know... fans can favor someone who is... not the main character? (While still liking the MC, of course.) If this weren't your first fandom, you might know that. Honestly, someone's favorite character being the MC is often a rarity. If E-cho were longer and fleshed out their characters more, I'm sorry to say there would be even less focus on Maya. Because obsessing over secondary characters is what fandom does best.

Nope, don't believe you like Fisk. Maybe in an abstract way. Maybe thinking he's a good villain. But if you're getting this mad at me for not wanting to see hate about him on content I created specifically to showcase him, no way you like Fisk.

I need to talk about the last episode of Between Us for a second (shocking, I know. Sawyer wants to talk about Between Us! But this is important, trust me!)

Okay, so first and foremost, let me say that I love me a good NC scene. In fact, a gifset of an NC scene from Kinnporsche popping up on my dash was actually the thing that got me into BL in the first place (it was the mutual masturbation scene and it's still buried in my liked posts, thank you @nick-nellson!)

Secondly, I'm not one to really go in and psychoanalyze movements and emotions and body language and break down entire scenes, I leave that to @bird-inacage and @theyellowhue, and they're way better at it than me.

Those being said, I have very mixed feelings about the prospect of an NC scene right here. On one hand, I've been waiting for something a little more intense than the so quick, it's barely even a kiss kisses since the end of episode two, so in that vein, I'm very excited about the idea of episode 8 starting with an NC scene.

However, as much as I want to see an NC scene that's not just lustful, but also has some emotion to it, I don't think this is the place for it. Yes, Win and Team have told each other and proven that they care deeply for one another, but Team is still recovering from a near-death experience and all the trauma that was unearthed with it, and Win is still dealing with his own trauma of almost seeing the man he loves die right in front of him.

Win is still not ready to quite admit out loud that he loves Team, and we all know Team's not gonna be the first one to say it. Neither one is ready to lay it all out there and be fully vulnerable, and I think that until they can talk about the status of their relationship freely and without insecurity, that they should hold off on sex. Because if they just head to bed instead of talking about their relationship, they're never gonna make any headway. They're always gonna be stuck in this cycle of fuck-let them close-get spooked by something-push them away-fuck-let them close-rinse and repeat.

I get that maybe this is Win's way of showing Team how much he cares about him since he's too scared to say it, but I think that getting off can wait until they're both comfortable and secure in what they have. Or at the very least, until they can talk about their relationship seriously. I think that until they're both on the same page (and they both know they're on the same page) that sex is just gonna hurt everything that they've built thus far.

Get to Know Me

There are various things about me that I mention vaguely in ranting posts, that I know some of my followers don’t know. So I’m writing some stuff here, for people who want to know me better! 😉

I’m PiracyTheorist, for personal reasons I don’t share my real name or selfies publicly here. You can call me Nette.

Current fandoms circulating around here:

- Spy x Family (CURRENT OBSESSION) (I’m up to date with the anime but I don’t read the manga, so please no manga spoilers) (tags are "Spy x Family" and occasionally "sxf")

- Colin O’Donoghue (sporadic but massive posting whenever he graces us with new content)

- Resident Evil Village (there will be horror and graphic content, as well as spoilers for the game and its DLC Shadows of Rose) (tag will mostly be “Resident Evil” and/or “re talk”)

- Digimon Adventure (20 years after watching it as a kid I went back to it and what do you know I still love everything about my very first blorbo, Yamato Ishida, so I’m going off about it here as well) (tag is “Digimon”)

Personal stuff:

I’m in my late 20s, I was born in a small town in Greece. I lived on an island for six years, where I studied music teaching. I now work as a music educator in a public middle and high school.

I support all genders and sexualities and ways people choose to live their own lives.

I’m a white cis woman, an asexual, I’m probably also aromantic but I’m not sure. Due to not being interested in romantic/sexual relationships however, I don’t spend a lot of time wondering about that. I just go with the flow.

I am a certified cat person™. I have one of my own (though she lives in my parents’ house and I only see her when I visit):

I was born with a cardiomyopathy. I’m on mild medication (by which I mean no side effects and no problems if I miss one dose) and I have some standard medical tests once or twice a year. I cannot do heavy exercise or push any limits (which, due to not being able to exercise my whole life, are low considering my young age). I am able to be independent though I'm eligible for some disability benefits. And yes, that means I’m in a high-risk group for any disease, not just covid or the flu.

I find dogs cute as well, but I prefer cats for myself.

I don’t want to have children. I like working with them as a music educator, but I don’t think I’d ever have the patience to actually be a good parent for life. Plus I have a ton of crappy genes, first and foremost of my own disease, so why spread them ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I attend therapy sessions. Sometimes I talk here about my sessions, or about things I want to say in them. I tag those posts as “nette therapy” so you can filter that if you want.

I love travelling. Thanks to being a part of several choirs while studying, I’ve visited various places in Europe, and I hope to be able to visit more.

I try to tag everything, including triggers, so if there’s something you need me to tag (within reason, don’t bring fandom drama into my inbox please), don’t hesitate to ask me. I shitpost from time to time, so prepare for some silliness here and there.

I enjoy whump, that is, seeing fictional characters (mostly male - for me mostly ones played by the aforementioned Colin O’Donoghue) in pain or any kind of peril. I tag everything about that as “whump”. I understand triggers and squicks so tagged or not, if that makes you in any way uncomfortable, you can unfollow me. I appreciate people following my blog but I rarely if ever check my followers list.

Sometimes I write fanfics, though my main contributions to fandoms are gifsets and silly memes, occasionally. Killian Jones from the TV show Once Upon a Time is my biggest love, so content about him may appear here sometimes. My fanfics can be found on Tumblr [link] or on AO3 [link]. I do not tolerate hate that’s aimed at innocent people - and that goes from hate for race, gender, sexuality etc. to hate for what fictional character each other likes. If what the other person is doing is in no negative way affecting someone else, I will not tolerate hate on my blog about them. I used be a person who judged others for what fictional characters/ships they liked, and I know now how miserable I was to act that way, and I’m trying to move on and become better.
