Okay I'm riled up about this rn so time for a history of economics lesson (rant) from me, a stranger on the internet
I'm a communist, I hate capitlism, so lemme just put that out there. But capitlism had its moments. Even marx had some praise for parts of capitlism.
And by far the most successful form of capitlism was Keynesian economics, as evident by the enormous increase in living standards in those countries which adopted it between the 1930s and 1970s.
What's Keynesian economics? The idea that capitlism can't survive on its own, and must be supported by government spending at the poorest ends of society and taxes at the richest ends of society (essentially the opposite of trickle down economics) as well as strong regulations on certain industries like banking.
It basically started in 1936 with President Roosevelt who was a personal friend of John Keynes (who the theory is named after).
Roosevelt implemented Keynesian economics to great effect; he raised the top tax rate to 94% (he actually wanted a 100% tax rate on the highest incomes, essentially creating a maximum wage, but the senate negotiated down to 94%) and similarly high corporate tax rates, he created the first ever minimum wage, created the first ever unemployment benefit, created social security in America, pension funds, and increased public spending on things like public utilities and infrastructure, national parks, etc. Which created about 15 million public sector jobs.
This ended the great depression and eventually lead to America winning world War 2, after which many countries followed suit in implementing similar policies, including UK, Australia, and NZ (apologies for the anglosphere-centric list here but they're the countries I'm personally most familiar with so bare with me)
Over the next 40 years these countries had unprecedented growth in living standards and incomes, and either decreasing or stable wealth inequality, and housing prices increasing in line with inflation. Virtually every household bought a car and a TV, rates of higher education increased dramatically, america put a man on the moon, and so on.
Then it all abruptly ended in the 80s and the answer is plain and obvious. 1979 thatcher became UK prime minister. 1981 reagan became US president. 1983 the wage accords were signed in aus. 1984 was the start of rogernomics in NZ (Someone link that Twitter thread of the guy who posts graphs of economic trends and points out where reagan became president)
(Also worth noting those last two in NZ and Aus were both implemented by 'left' leaning governments, but they are both heavily associated with right wing policies.)
This marked the beginning of trickle down economics: tax cuts, privatization of publicly owned assets, reduction in public spending, and deregulation of the finance sector. The top tax rates are down to the low 30s in most of these countries, down from the 80s/90s it was prior. Now THATS a tax cut.
And what happened next?
Wages stagnated. Housing prices skyrocketed. Bankers got away with gambling on the economy. Public infrastruce and utilies degraded. And wealth inequality now exceeds France in 1791.
I don't know how anyone can deny the evidence if they see it, but there's so much propaganda and false information that a lot of people just don't see the evidence.
Literally all the evidence supports going back to Keynesian economics but now that the rich have accumulated so much wealth it's virtually impossible to democratically dethrone them when they have most of the politicians on both the right and the left in their pocket.
Unfortunately it was the great depression and ww2 that gave politicians the political power to implement these policies the first time around. Some thought the 2008 crash would spur movement back towards Keynesianism (which it actually did in Iceland, congrats to them), I hoped covid would force governments to now, but nope.
All these recent crises' seem to have just pushed politics further and further right, with more austerity and tax cuts.
I don't really have a message or statement to end on other than shits fucked yo.

So I actually downloaded a recording of McPig's DOOM stream he did before he released The Noise Update for Pizza Tower, and for multiple days watched through the entire thing in order to learn more about Maurice Spaghetti.
Maurice is the guy dressed like Peppino in this ending screen from Swap Mode. He's Peppino's brother who criticizes Peppino for literally everything and bullies him for no fucking reason other than to be a dick. He is also the epitome of toxic conservative American masculinity in human form. Maurice claims to hate Peppino, though he never explicitly states why.
I, however, have a theory: Peppino is a better person who's accomplished way more than Maurice could ever hope to, and Maurice knows this, and he's jealous.
Peppino owns his own business and works hard, while Maurice is working in a "garbage factory" for a living, and wasting his money on his gambling addiction. Also, Maurice scammed Nonna Spaghetti into buying $8000 worth of psychic crystals so he could predict horse races. Plus he physically assaults everyone around him if they so much as breathe wrong, so... yeah, it's pretty clear Maurice is a scumbag we're meant to hate. Peppino definitely has his moments of selfishness, but even he expressed disgust at Maurice's bullshit.
It's funny, but... I kinda wish I had a plushie of Maurice so I can beat the crap out of it.
Oh, did I forget to mention Maurice has a son? He's Maurice Spaghetti Jr. and apparently "named after the smartest man [Maurice] know[s]". I feel so bad for his kid...

I'm gunna pop my reply behind a readmore, cause it ended up longer than I anticipated! Sorry if it doesn't make a whole lot of sense, I too, am chronically sleep deprived! ♥
I have two theories on exactly this premise. One that is more what I imagine, mainly cause its simple, and even a bit silly, which is that, judging by what Mimzy says, it could just be that Alastor has had Husk bartend for him for a long time, and as a bit of a creature of habit, dragged him along to the hotel just because he wanted him there! That he knows the guy, knows he's good at his job, knows he's loyal despite everything, thinks he's entertaining to annoy(or that they're somewhat friends, depending on what 'word of god' you go with from the creators) and maybe even knows about that soft heart that Husk hides behind all the hissing.
The second theory is a bit darker/less charitable to Alastor, based on a few thoughts I had during my recent rewatch of the series. I started with the pilot, and noticed how dramatically Husk reacts to being offered just a generic cheap booze, and then how intensely drunk he starts off during the series proper. Like how we see in Al's initial commercial, where he actually blacks out completely. Or during some early dialogue where he's slurring he words a lot more than in later episodes? It did kind of strike me as either a 'binge drinking after not drinking for a long time' or maybe a 'get blackout drunk to not have to deal with being there' thing. Either way, being caused/facilitated by Al.
While I've seen a lot of people discredit Alastor's motivations in 'wanting to see demons reach for redemption, and then fail miserably' as just being a front to a greater purpose, I think that both can be true. I think he's got a reason he's there, but also that he just really enjoys fucking with people.
I think he added the bar as an extra temptation to any hotel residents, but then also potentially to mess specifically with Husk and put him in an environment that would be both a good influence on him, and a terrible one. Literally put him in a place where he could have a support system if he wanted it, but be surrounded by one of his worst vices the entire time. Also, since Al and Husk are supposed to know each other quite well, I could see Al dragging Husk to the hotel because he'd know how stupid Husk would find the whole thing.
Although, my theory would be less that Alastor providing booze is the reason Husk can't be redeemed, and more that Husk's self loathing is the reason he feels like he can't be redeemed. I think we'll learn about some shitty things he's done in S2, while at the height of his gambling addiction, and that he just doesn't/can't/won't come to terms with. Or something like that anyways!
Did that make any sense? I hope so. I don't usually write stuff like this.

it’s incredibly disappointing and shocking to see how misogynistic and vile the capri fandom is towards jokaste even in the year of 2023, to the point of calling her “used goods” and “an opportunistic slut” (YES YOU READ IT RIGHT!) it gets extra depressing when you remember jokaste did what she did to save damen’s life and it wasn’t even acknowledged by damen or that she was really rewarded other than laurent letting her go instead of her being charged with treason.
the most common argument i come across is “we don’t know if she did it to save damen’s life! it was purely laurent’s theory therefore it’s ambiguous.” now i know media literacy has been a lost art for the longest time so it doesn’t necessarily surprise me but if you read this exchange, based on her reaction, it’s quite clear that laurent was correct in his assumption:

another arguments i frequently see are:
a- “why didn’t she try to warn damen?” damen’s literal best friend from his childhood days tried to warn him against kastor and he paid him no mind. you really believe he would listen to jokaste, someone he’d known for a shorter period than nikandros?
b- “did she really need to sleep with kastor?” …yes? do i need to remind you that damen’s entire household was killed? which would include jokaste if she wasn’t kastor’s mistress? not to mention she had to be close to kastor to save damen.
through the series, pacat intentionally draws parallels between laurent and jokaste; both appearance and character wise. remember this scene where laurent stopped the vaskian raiders from instantly killing damen?
jokaste played the same gamble. she had no way of knowing whether damen would survive in vere or not but she had to try because she loved damen too much to see him slaughtered like a pig in front of her eyes. and yes i use the word love because just look at the way she talks about him… oh my god… like while it is implied jokaste first got close to damen for personal gain, she obviously developed feelings for him after some point and had the utter respect for him. (i always think it’s quite sad us fic writers need to write her cheating on damen with kastor in modern aus for plot sake because under normal circumstances, jokaste would never let damen go)
i guess the horrible misogyny aside, what also drives me insane is the double standard. laurent had damen collared like a slave, drugged him, forced him to fight with the threat of rape if he lost, whipped him, sexually assaulted him by proxy and the fandom can still sympathize with him and love him (don’t get me wrong i love him too) but when it comes to jokaste, someone who had no choice and did the only thing she could do to save damen, people hate her passionately and call her awful names. it’s infuriating. it’s disgusting.
tldr; jokaste genuinely loved damen and made the only choice she could under those unfortunate circumstances to save him from a horrible death and while no one is obligated to love her, this appalling misogyny train needs to stop.

Crazy fan-theory / AU: what if Rosie was the one who has Alastor on his leash?
Alright, hear me out on this theory about Alastor and Rosie in "Hazbin Hotel." So, in the show, it seems like Alastor just casually strolls into Rosie's territory, asks for help, and boom, she's down with it. But let's dive deeper.
Rosie mentioned, "And old Alastor has never done me wrong before," hinting at a history between them. What if they had a binding demonic deal going on? Like, Alastor brings souls to Rosie, boosting her power, and in return, she hooks him up somehow? Maybe it all started with them teaming up to hunt demons, with Alastor broadcasting screams on his Radio Station, and Rosie's crew feasts on the literal bodies like an all-you-can-eat-buffet clean up crew. But then, because of some vague or confusing wording that created a "backdoor" in the deal, it twisted in Rosie's favour.
Alastor and Rosie working together isn't an implausible scenario, since we know Vox approached Alastor to team up as well. Now, why did Alastor pick Rosie over Vox? Simple. He found Vox too brutish and preferred Rosie's refined persona. He also just didn't vibe with Vox's goals: Alastor doesn't respect Vox because Vox doesn't respect his professional medium. Vox wants influence using media in the way the media corporations of real-life owns and influences us. Alastor takes pride in his radio profession, sees it as an art form from simpler but more refined times. To him, it was an easy choice between Rosie and Vox.
So, when Alastor brings Charlie to Rosie, he's not doing anyone a favor. It's a win-win for Alastor. He wins if Charlie + Cannibals lose because Rosie will be weakened and its not like the Cannibals are his people, and he ALSO wins if Charlie wins because then the Princess of Hell is indebted to him. He didn't have such high stakes in the gamble at all.
He definitely miscalculated his own strength when he faced Adam, and regrets it. Alastor likely thought he could take on Adam as equals. The fight worked out well enough in the beginning, Alastor was able to easily dodge Adam in his childish rage, and severely underestimated the First Man. Alastor knew that Vox would be watching, if not broadcasting it, so it was also an opportunity for Alastor to show off his sheer power to the masses.
Alastor is ADAMANT to remind all of Hell he is back, and just as fearsome. During his song against Vox: "♪ Let's begin... I'm gonna make you wish that I stayed gone. Tune on in... When I'm done, your status quo will know its race is run, Oh, this will be fun! ♪".
But his plan backfired BAD, and it made Rosie stronger because her people got to reap the rewards of the battle. EVEN WORSE, Alastor was wounded and nearly died.
"Great Alastor Altruist died for his friends?"
If he HAD died, the citizens of Hell would've thought he died for his friends since he, a powerful and feared overlord, has lived at this Hotel that supported the ridiculous notion of betterment and redemption. Completely against his personal brand. Word has surely spread of his return, especially news regarding his questionable choice of residence. In his breakdown song, it wasn't Alastor having an internal conflict between "omg I can't believe I nearly died for my friends??? These people?????? what the fk??" but more "i fked up, and this makes MORE people think i'm soft and weak, sacrificing myself for OTHERS".
So Alastor went back, because Charlie's team had won, as Plan B. Even if Alastor lost is fight against Adam, who could blame him? Charlie trusts him more now, and owes him BIG TIME. Not only because Alastor reached out to his 'friend' to help her, but he also nearly died fighting the biggest and most powerful person from the enemy team. With Charlie owing him big time now and their binding deal in play, Alastor's favor can be way more significant.
As for Alastor's initial interest in the hotel, it's likely he saw it as a chance to cozy up to the Princess of Hell and maybe gain some leverage to get out of his deal somehow.
I still can't rationalize the coincidence of Alastor and Lilith disappearing at the same time, so I'm going to ignore that for now.

Synopsis: After Angel tries to end himself, Husk decides to finally do something...even if that means his loyalty is on the line,
A/N: so I have a theory Husk is going to free Angel, this plays out the Theory,

Husk would never forget hearing Charlie scream, which was saying a lot seeing as they were in Hell number one, but knowing it's someone you care for, he and the several occupants of the hotel had been relaxing a relatively calm day. Angel hadn't come down, but he had had a rough night, the former overlord had been wanting to keep a closer eye on the Spider Demon since he was happier, and not in the masking type of way
Husk had seen the signs of being suicidal before, the relaxed nature as they knew that they'd not have to worry soon,
He would blame himself for the rest of his existence for not stopping Angel before he went to his room,
Charlie had offered to go check on him worried something was wrong, (oh was it) Husk literally flying up the steps with Vaggie as Charlie knelt over Angel who was on the floor, one of the angelic blades they had just used on the ground beside him
And the blood, oh sweet lord it was everywhere, but his ears perked up, he heard straggled breathing and produced a mirror holding it in front of the others face he saw it fog and realized the other was still alive,
"Charlie I need you to get him on the bed Vaggie you bandage him, he's just unconscious."
The anger and fury he felt, he knew who this was the marks that littered the others form besides the damage Angel had done, that he'd hidden this was so much worse, he felt something snap,
Marching out of the room he was already formulating a plan, the biggest thing hinged on getting a certain radio demon on board, Alastor made him jolt as he appeared, he hated when the other did so,
"You wish to request something my dear Husker?" He purred, eyebrow raised
"Yeah, I want to challenge Valentino for Angel's contract, but I have ta ask you first. All soulsI get, go to you. Angie, though I want to offer im his freedom if I can"
His smile deepened, and Husk could see the glee in the others' eyes. However, of course, he'd be happy about this
"Gambling for another soul quite entertaining however if you manage to pull this off I think in the case of him rejecting his freedom it would be much more entertaining for me, for you to keep his soul,"
The overlords eyes widened, Alastor would allow that?
"Hopefully you did not fail in your quest Husker,"
The demon disappeared but the former Overlord knew he had permission and with a new fire in his heart he marched out of the hotel in down to the studio
Marching inside he yelled out
"I wanna talk to this asshole Valentino!" Making several gasp but others looked instantly interested
"Your the kitty who plays barkeep," Velvette appeared with a snort,"Whatcha want with Val he's bein a cry baby, Angel fuckin shirked his work,"
"He didn't shirk it he tried ending it!" Husk growled, making the other workers again gasp even Velvette seemed a bit surprised before a nonchalant look replaced it, as the door slammed open revealing a pissed off Valentino
"You you're one of those Hotel people tell Angel to get his fluffy little ass back to work" he snarled getting up in the others face husk shoved the other back
"Angel is currently comatose because he tried ending his life, Valentino which is why I'm fucking here. I want his contract" More gasps came from everybody around them
The Moth Overlord raised an eyebrow slowly slinking around the other, before laughing
"Do you really think I would give up my best workers' contract?
"One Round of Poker All or Nothing, if I lose I work as your mole if you lose I get his contract and soul," he knew he had to play up the other's ego to get him to agree to lure him," think about it Valentino you would have someone actually competent to listen in"
Husk new Alastor would know, but he was counting on that if worst came to worst,
And like he planned his words made the other Overlord pause and think,
" interesting proposition, Fine one game. With Angel not being able to work I'm going to have to struggle to fill in the rest of the schedule anyway you can be assured he will be punished thoroughly for it," he snarled as a table was drug over
Holding a hand out both of their abilities flaring as they shook hands and the deal was set
It was a difficult match purely luck whoever God Favored right now would be shown, Valentino laid down his cards smirking it was a four of a kind, a nice decent hand but Husk started laughing as he laid down a royal flush taking down the other overlord, he had won he didn't believe he still had it after he had lost to Alastor but here he was standing victorious once more showing his luck was still on his side,
"Oh shit," he heard Velvette mutter, a smirk on her face, a hand covering her mouth
Valentino for once looked stunned and for a moment Husk saw himself perhaps the biggest loss in his life, but the moth was forced to produce the contract and hand it over, he shrugged however immediately trying to play it off
" oh well I'll find some new bitch to be my star, and not like anybody will want his leftovers,"
Husk felt rage at the other's words, but with Angie's contract in his hand, he just focused on that the sheer euphoria he had done it, he could feel the others soul and he could not believe how warm it was despite everything the other had been through, it was almost loving and caring, he raced back to the hotel and saw Alastor standing on the balcony leaned on it
"Good show Husker, Angel Dust is awake he awoke when he felt something shift in his very soul." The other purred, with that smug grin the former overlord hated
He only nodded and headed for the other's room, Charlie caught him halfway there
Husk allister said you were going to do something-"
He pulled out the contract and she gasped" I bet it all,"
He let out a small noise as the princess of Hell embraced him tightly, hearing her murmur
"Thank you Husk," nothing more needed to be said he understood what she was saying
"Of course Princess,"

"Come to stare at the failure?" Came from him,"can't even kill myself properly, now Valentinos gonna-"
" he's going to do nothing Angie, Please look at me,"he interrupted not wanting to use the contract to force the other that would go against what he was trying to do
After a few moments the other slowly turned over his eyes were red and it broke husk see the other so hurt bandages wrapped around him bags under his eyes slowly the other approached and tenderly wiped the tears away,
" how can you promise me he can't do anything he has my soul-"
" Angel he doesn't have it anymore" fear entered the other Demon's eyes and husk sighed and pulled it out that made Angel sit up wincing but the absolute shock written on his face
"Husk... how did you?"
" I saw you on the floor angel and I couldn't take one more minute of seeing you hurt, I blame myself partially for what happened I knew you were suicidal because I've seen it before but I didn't say anything. So I challenged Valentino to a poker game where I would be the mole they were looking for if he won and if I won I got your soul in contract as you can see my luck is still with me,"
Tears entered Angel's eyes, and Husk knew the realization was hitting him that all the years of abuse were behind him because Angie knew Husk would never treat him the same,
" I will free you, but only if that's what you want truly-"
A finger was placed to his lips to silence him, Angel was shaking his head,
" I have been underneath a overlord for as long as I can remember I honestly don't know what I would do but I do know it would be self-destructive I don't know how to behave without well someone to help guide me. If you're willing to take on this loser, I wouldn't mind having you as my Overlord, especially in comparison to that piece of shit,"
Holding up the contract, Angel felt the collar appear, but it disintegrated. To his surprise, the contract also disintegrating however, Husk gently took one of his hands, a ring appearing glowing bright orange it lit up the room, and Angel gasped before it faded and disappeared
" Guess we're both losers under the same umbrella, huh?" The spider demon smirked
Husk smiled placing a kiss to the others hand making the other grin,
"And baby that's fine by me,"

A radical theory
I wrote a post a bit of go that Alastor may have daddy issues. Which is why he was at odds at Lucifer. Along with targeting men when he feels all murdery.
In the same episode we learned that Alastor sold his soul...So we are learning a lot about Alastor in this episode...unfortunately it gave more questions than answers.
I don't think this Headcanon/theory is valid I'm about to suggest because I find it interesting. Maybe someone already came up with it, but in case not. We all assume Alastor master would be some super insane powerful demon. Which tbh probably is. But what if, the reason Alastor stupidly dealt his soul away was to someone not so much powerful, but personal. What if Alastor master is his own father. His father was surely sent to hell before him. I assumed Alastor killed him himself.
Alastor, not really knowing the ways of Hell since he literally just been dumped in. One does not know the customs of a foreign country that one unexpectedly find themselves in, right? Hell, would be a huge adjustment of learning. So when it came to his father finding him...He was a bit naive about things, and maybe (self loathingly) hoped or yarned his father love andhe changed? His father being abusive manipulator in life continues in Hell. But he managed to trick Alastor. "I was a shitty father/person in life. But then you killed me and I had time to realize my mistakes but It's too late for me to do anything about it because you know, you killed me. But I can help you here, protect you. We're blood. Hell is not a forgiving place...but I can be. I just need you to trust me with your soul..."....?
Alastor was naturally hesitant and probably out right refused. Perhaps his father set up a situation where Alastor was quickly out of element being fresh meat in Hell. Coming to his rescue at the last second that Alastor is forced to accept. I don't know, I'm making shit up on the fly to get this crazy thought out.
It can help explain why Alastor became so powerful so quickly when he fell into Hell. His prefered company of woman, How being leashed is such touchy subject and driving him to the edge.(Okay, that would upset anyone), but the one holding the leash in Hell is the man he loathed in his before life, and now he can't escape it in Hell. That shit will drive him up a wall! At least in life he can escape briefly, hell, he even killed him. Now he can't do either.
The only real flaw I find in this is I get the vibe that Alastor father wouldn't be immensely clever. Not clever enough to trick souls to become powerful enough to make Alastor that powerful to take down overlords. But maybe that why it works? The father not losing out much if Alastor quickly fell. But his father won his gamble, and Alastor practiced calculating precise killing tipped the scales in his favor. Now he has Alastor as a weapon and defender that can not be used against him.
It crazy enough that it can work. I don't think it is. But it may make a fun angst fanfic if anyone up for it.

oh yes! i love this theory! be prepared for a LONG ANSWER
so basically imo the boyking and lucifer’s vessel arcs don’t entirely mesh. why go through all the trouble of creating all the special children and having them compete when sam is the one who HAS to be lucifer’s vessel? what’s the point of creating a monarch who is powerful enough and motivated to rule hell in their own right if they’re just gonna be possessed by lucifer? and why still be feeding babies demon blood in series 1? we know lucifer told azazel to find a child, to find his vessel, but having that child rule hell as the demons were expecting per the boyking comment doesn’t make sense. why would the winner of azazel’s contest ever give up their power and their BODY to be lucifer’s puppet? it doesn’t make sense
so, what does? (or at least is fun and interesting to think about)
i’ve always though demons as a whole should have been more conniving. the hell politics we got were always too simplistic. where are the SCHEMES. surely crowley wasn’t the only one who realised that lucifer had an even lower opinion of demons than of humanity and didn’t want him ruling?
azazel knew lucifer personally, was created by lucifer personally. he knows exactly what lucifer is like, so why wouldn’t he have an accurate understanding of how fucked demonkind would be if lucifer came back and the apocalypse started? also, he’s running hell, why would he want to give up that power? but he’d also want plausible deniability, both so he could control the demons who still support lucifer (like lilith and his own daughter meg!) and also on the off chance he failed and lucifer did rise
which leads us to the special children. this is where i get more into the realm of headcanon in terms of what hell is actually like, but i still think it tracks with the show. the descriptions of hell and the visuals of hell we get are all wildly different. crowley’s queue, dean’s pit, sam’s medieval dungeon, meg’s bone and blood and pain. they’re different enough that i think hell changes based in your perception. either to what will make you suffer the most (dean and meg), or if you’re powerful enough what you tell it to be (crowley very much on purpose, sam subconsciously. he created hell into somewhere he could relatively easily rescue bobby from)
all this to say that hell is a living thing. it can accept or reject a ruler, and the more accepted they are the harder it is for a ruler to be deposed. if they’re integrated with hell enough they simply can’t be. lucifer as the creator of demonkind and original ruler should be the best fit and the most accepted, but lucifer doesn’t want hell, he’ll always resent being there instead of heaven, so hell will never completely accept him. and a demon will never truly be accepted either, because they’re not lucifer and they’re not an angel, so they’re not enough like him to be a fully effective substitute
but a human with demon blood? they’re closer to the divine than a demon, but they don’t know heaven to long for it. there’s every possibility that hell would accept that special child more than azazel and more than lucifer, and because that child has the full power and support of the creature that is hell they might be able to hold the cage closed even with lilith’s death, or simply stop lucifer from taking power in hell once he’s risen, or even outright kill lucifer
so with that in mind, of course sam is the favourite. azazel is gambling here so he’s keeping his options open with multiple candidates, but lucifer’s true vessel is always gonna have the best chance of being accepted by hell and taking lucifer’s place. as long as he can control sam he’s coming up roses
but then azazel dies, and i don't see him trusting his true plans and motivations to any other demon, so they all just play out the apocalypse like they thought they were supposed to from the start. except for the crowleys (and in my headcanon ruby but that’s a question for when i finally finish and publish kindred instruments rip) who are smart enough to figure out that lucifer views them as vaguely useful cockroaches
obviously this is a watsonian answer to a doylist question, but i always find those the most fun anyway

Monkie Kid Theory! Watch this age terribly!
Look, as the days tick by, I'm more and more convinced this could happen in the future. Not sure if it will be season 5, but that doesn't mean future seasons won't count.
I should emphasize this is gonna be 99% wrong and mostly just me thirsting for angst. But the way I see it, thematically and arc wise, it would make the most sense.
Wukong has literally ran from death his whole life, fearing it. For it to be his final conflict after settling the score with Macaque, it would be pretty cool to see it all come full circle as he faces the end of his life, knowing this was inevitable. Even more so, this could be a chance to do a proper handing over the torch moment for MK, letting him know he's finally ready to be the Monkie Kid and forge a new journey.
Plus imagine the after effects of Macaque, who has to keep on living with what was left behind. Maybe even give him this moment where he has to deal with the fact that he didn't handle their issues well, and reflect on who is gonna be now that he doesn't have anyone to seek revenge on. Come on, I know full well Macaque didn't move on, season 4 didn't convince me of anything.
Yes, I know, he is immortal. But since when have the writers not played fast and loose with plot elements. Ala Samadhi Fire, season 3 with Lady Bone Demon and Wukong's powers. So I would not be surprised if they found a way to make a loop hole at some point.
Do I think I'm right? No. Do I feel like there is a chance? A sliver of one. And I'm willing to let the internet roast me for my opinion cause I wanna make a gamble and have fun with a crazy theory like this!
