I might get flak for this, but girls who like trains are really cute.

I don’t consider myself to be inherently anti-celebrity
I may be critical of the concept of celebrity and how it feeds into toxic systems of power, but the people themselves? I don’t invariably hate them or hold a ton of ill will toward them (I don’t know these people, for one thing). Many of them are proven to have done demonstrably terrible things, but many more are simply flawed human beings who make a lot of things that I deeply love and in fact couldn’t picture my life without. Also, it doesn’t exactly seem fun to be one. Yeah there’s the glitz and glamour and being paid to be creative, but there’s also the endless cycle of abuse and constant public scrutiny. I can say a mildly dumb thing and stress about it for weeks after the person I said it to has forgotten, I can only imagine how much worse that anxiety would be if people all over the world were talking about it. I’m not even saying we should be nicer to famous people, just that I don’t place that much of my dissatisfaction with the state of the world on their shoulders.

Maybe I'm alone in this, but I think a change of bad behavior into a pattern of good behavior over a sustained period of time is a good enough apology, and I don't think a literal "I'm sorry" is necessary.
This is why when people discover something ""problematic"" (and I mean this in the Twitter way; it does not include something actually egregiously fucked up) in someone's past, something they've not done since or made a pattern of, I just simply don't care. I don't understand the urge to make people apologize for years-old mistakes.
All it does is make you feel placated for hearing them explicitly apologize but it's hollow and meaningless stacked up against years of actionable growth and good will.

People seem to only care in crisis. But I won’t cause crisis. I just want to be seen. And heard. And held. And loved.
