he was born thirty years ago, he is a human who lives in descray as the owner of balvie’s bistro. he looks an awful lot like aaron thiara.
“I am a thief of knowledge, and in a survival way, I had to solve all the problems around me.”

Balveer grew up alone. He was passed around the foster care system his entire early childhood, never finding anybody who he could trust. He would run away often and quickly became skilled at shoplifting.
His first taste of happiness came when he was moved to a group home. There he met Lalita. The two instantly bonded and became each other’s only confidants as they grew up together. The group home was tumultuous and Balveer often got into fights, but he survived knowing he had a true friend.
When he was 17, Balveer found Lalita dead in her bedroom. He’d never suffered loss before. He’d never had anything and now he had lost everything. He stopped talking and reverted back to his old ways of never being where he should be and stealing anything that was available to him. It was only when another member of the group home made jokes at Lalita’s expense that he experienced any kind of catharsis. Upon hearing their cruel remarks, he leapt at them and beat them savagely, only stopping when security forcefully removed him from the scene. They were left with permanent scarring and disfigurement, and Balveer was given a 10 year prison sentence.
In prison, Balveer spent his time working out and learning to cook. He also discovered an interest in meditation. Despite these helping him to move forward, he was often seen favourably by other inmates for his, now infamous, sticky fingers. If something was able to be taken and sold, Balveer would have it.
Now 30, Balveer is doing his best to integrate into a world that never seemed to want him in the first place. He works as a chef at a local bistro and often tries his best to be friendly and accommodating. However, if you’re looking for something or missing something, Balveer is the best place to start.

The Yard Theatre, ETT and HOME co-production of The Cherry Orchard, reimagined by Vinay Patel from a translation by Helen Rappaport, has revealed its cast.
