3l!grian is frequently depicted as a tragic figure and sometimes i wonder if we even watched the same series
#like yes he is tragic. every character in the series is tragic but i think hes easily the least tragic of the winners#(except maybe cleo. i have my own thoughts about how cleos victory plays into her core themes and why its not as joyous or triumphant as#cleo the players and the fandom at large make it seem that i will have to make a real post about at some point)#grian dies Laughing. he smiles and calls it a dual victory before the final fight. his last words are “its been amazing.”#to me Grians arc is about how he came in with this sense of mirth. had it ripled away by the reality when his joke gets Scar killed.#and then rediscovers it as he learns that the horror of their circumstances doesn't need to keep him from delight#plus also ive never seen a man more delighted to explode three of his friends#ill also bring up that Martyns lore has Grian involved in the games explicitly to COMBAT the angst#that Grians inherent silliness and joy makes the players less hopeless as they meet their endings#and theres obviously parts of martyns lore i can take or leave but this is one area where Eyes and Ears lines up very well with what actions#the characters take and so im happy to bring it up#unlike other parts such as “limlife pearl and cleo retained more trauma between seasons than any player has before”#which i do directly refute as it doesn't seem to line up with the way the characters act and the story plays out#thats for another post though#my point here is 3l grian was having the time of his life and i think there are some fanon interpretationd that disregard that#which theyre free to do im definitely someone who has ignored canon plenty of times in the past (glances at worm)#but i think this is the sort of thing that makes the canon more interesting and compelling#anyway. um. rambled longer than i meant to there#grian#trafficblr#3rd life#3rd life smp#3lsmp

can’t stop thinking about bela and donna’s dynamic if their relationship were explored a bit more. they’re the ones in miranda’s route that’s most aware of the cult and are also the only ones fighting against it. it felt like it was literally just them against everybody else. only they knew the complete depth of the cult’s cruelty and how miranda’s rot tangled far too deeply on their family’s roots. there must’ve been some mutual understanding between them that will have to carry this heavy burden all on their own.
did they find comfort that they at least had each other and weren’t completely alone? did they communicate/share what little they remember of the previous resets?

Subbing special ed at the middle school slaps. Every class I've had so far is 2-4 students and when we finish the assignment we play Uno
#cont#the more i sub the more i am confirmed in my opinion that i want to be a middle grade teacher#it might be for all i know significantly influenced by how much my local high school is in shambles#the kids have no fucking discipline and are so disrespectful. they don't even try#theyre incredibly selfish in the way teenagers kinda generally are bent to#but the particular system of that school is hopeless. it doesn't make them think of others#they just wanna come to school. do the bare minimum. leave#and i get it. it's a bad school#it's a bad combination of formative years and a failing system#the middle school has a number of issues for certain too but the kids are so much more malleable#they respect authority more. i know that sounds so like conservative but it's not#it's like when i give them instructions or advice they actually consider it rather than taking the quickest way out of it#and they're at such a precious age. it's why some ppl hate this age level but i love it#they really can become anything still but they're getting more curious by the day#when you see occasional callousness or disrespect it's not so confirmed in them yet#and most of all they like to play uno and it's a lot of fun for me

I hate that people associate being old with being bigoted, I actually love old people so much
#i know the whole 'old people are wise' thing is a little cliche but its true#not only that but there are some things that can really only be healed by talking to your elders#like. sometimes im so scared for the future and im so sure everything will be like this forever or ill die young#but then you hear about what your elders went through and they survived and its like 'wow maybe its not hopeless'#it makes me really sad when people are mean to elders for no reason#like they dont deserve that. theyve already all got chronic pain and probably a lifetime's worth of grief too#but theyre still hangin in there#it makes me so happy how excited older people can get when someone just talks to them#but its also kind of sad because its clear they dont get that a lot

gnna be honest im like genuinely and profoundly horrified by how little knowledge and understanding most therapists and psychiatrists have. it's actually shocking how everything they know is at base level and only covers the most "usual" mental health issues such as depression. even after years in school it's still like they're only capable of applying their very limited knowledge on "normal", neurotypical and healthy people. they actually have no idea how to treat people who are mentally ill. therefore they only cause ever stronger feelings of isolation, alienation and wrongness upon their patients
#the help i've gotten is ridiculous. it's like they can only treat a normal person who just had a rough patch at work#and is going thru a divorce so theyre extra stressed#thats the limit of who they can help lmao#like... it makes me so dejected#to have finally ubderstood this#if ppl do experience that therapy helps them thats great! it's lucky to come across the one or two therapists that are actually good#but like 9/10 times thats not the case#the mental health care system is crazy and it is NOT designed to actually help anyone who experience mental illness#IF you even manage to access help bc unless you create issues for society they'll just keep turning you down#idk i can write 20 pages on this bc there's so much to say#but the bottom line is. there is actually nowhere to go for mentally ill ppl. no help unless you're very lucky (or rich)#it's extremely dejecting and thats why i lowkey hope a lot of ppl who struggle will never come to this realization#when you open your eyes to reality and see how hopeless it all is you're completely alone and helpless so just live on that false hope#anti psych

#loki spoilers#spoilers#like i can guess that this is leading up to some kind of TVA timeline branch#where they can get another shot at this#but everything was so choppy and scenes lacked progress or cosnequence#they were only exclamated by intense and disappointing gore or hopelessness#a real tough watch and tougher on suspending disbelief#and im nitpicking but it was only a 'magic dampener' that was keeping magic from being real in the TVA?#seems a little eh... like are infinity stones powerful now?#i had loved the idea of the TVA being a place without magic simply bc it was mysteriously separate from the rest of reality#anyways i just had to rant#old-man-yells-at-cloud style#im hoping that wasnt the end of Timely#i knew something bad was gonna happen to him when he had his cocoa#they only make characters do something that cute if theyre gonna suffer#im banking on next weeks ep being about going back on the TVAs timeline#the TVA used to be timeless but now that timeslipping is possible in the TVA i imagine that meand the TVA is now a part of 'time'#just kinda disappointed in the writing for this episode#but most marvel shows tend to have a episode 3-5 dip in quality for some reason#oh well
