You never understood why people don't like fuck boys.
Okay, that's an overstatement. You do know why. They lie, they cheat, and they make pretty little promises in hopes of getting in your pants. They think with the head between their legs and drool at the sight of new pussy. Truly, they were just men who peaked in high school.
They're pathetic, but easy.
A game is a game, and these types of men tend to forget it's multiplayer. All you have to do is act a little clueless, pretend to be happy to see them, and their absolute favorite, be innocent. Be the perfect little prey they think you are and they'll do anything for a chance.
It really is easy.
It's how you managed to snag a date with Wooyoung. He had been asking for weeks since the semester started. Walking you to class, to your car, seeming like a nice boy on the outside, but you know better. You've seen the subtle winks to his friends, the predatory gaze on your body. As much as you would have loved to give it up on the first day, you want to at least have some of a good time and not fucked like a fleshlight.
You can still picture the grin on his face, the way the mole under his eye shifted with his smile. Well, you don't have to imagine it. He's giving you like sly look now, one hand on the wheel while he's turned to you. The car's been in park for a while. Wooyoung claimed he needed a minute to sit after a nice dinner. It's been way past a minute, however, and the conversation took a bit of a sexual turn.
"I dunno," you shyly rub your hands together. "I don't think I'll be any good."
Wooyoung is patient though, more than you would have thought. "That's okay. We don't even have to do anything. I would just love to keep hanging out with you." I would love to put my dick in your pussy, is what he's really saying, but at least he's being nice about it. "I won't do anything you're not comfortable with."
You nod, pretending to think about what you want to do. "It's just you're so nice and so good-looking. I don't want you to think anything bad of me." Wooyoung is already shaking his head before you can finish, "I would never think of you differently. If you're attracted to somebody, and they're attracted to you, there's nothing wrong with acting on it. But don't feel like you have to. I can talk with you just like this and feel just as happy."
Definitely a smooth talker. You can't help but think about how many hearts he's broken with those lies. "You promise?"
"Of course," but his fox smile gives it away. "You're cool. I haven't felt this comfortable on a date like this before." It's not a shock he's feeling that way. You've perfected your lines and your bashful looks to get him right where he is. The way your dress clings to your body only helps. It's short enough to imagine bending you over the hood of the car and low-cut enough for Wooyoung to keep glancing down at your chest. The dress isn't enough to scream slut! but enough for curious eyes to wander.
"Thank you," you giggle. "I don't think anyone's told me that before." Your admission makes Wooyoung smile. A genuine look of satisfaction as if it's his heart that swells instead of his cock. He tilts his head to the side. A strand of hair falls over his forehead from the movement. He's cute, hot with his hair slicked back. It's easy to fall under his spell and if you're not careful, you might slip.
But you're well versed with men like him.
You let him lean close, you let his hand gently cup the side of your face. You're fully expecting teeth and tongue, but Wooyoung pauses just before your lips make contact. His dark eyes glance to yours, waiting.
You nod.
The kiss is not what you were expecting from him. It's not hungry not is it demanding. It's gentle, it's sweet, and it's comfortable. You easily slide against his lips, your hand grabbing onto his wrist and bringing him closer. He tastes slightly like the meat he ordered earlier. It makes you smile into the kiss and you feel him smile back.
You're the one to pull away first. Your lips disconnect with a soft smack and you look into his eyes. "Was that okay?" His body slightly shivers, and he nods while chuckling. "Yes. That was better than okay." You laugh with him, noticing how his hand drops to the exposed part of your thigh to gently rub your skin.
Only a second of silence passes before Wooyoung asks, "Can we do something a little more?" Then he quickly adds, "If not I totally understand." You have to bite back a smile, you've never met a fuckboy so honest yet deceiving at the same time.
"I dunno, Wooyoung," you play with his hand that's on your lap. "I think hookups are...unfair." This makes him raise an eyebrow, "Unfair? I don't think I've heard that one before. Can I ask why?"
"Like..." you pretend to think of your rehearsed words. "The girl doesn't really get to...finish. You know what I mean?" Judging from the shocked and slightly offended look on Wooyoung's face, you think you have him. "I'm not saying you can't, but I know it's a thing that guys have a hard time making the girl feel good."
Wooyoung is silent for a minute. You can't tell what he's thinking and you begin to think that maybe he took it personally. You're preparing for the worst when he lays his seat all the way down.
"What are doing?"
"Gonna prove you wrong," he simply says. "Come on, right here." Wooyoung points to his face, You narrow your eyes, unsure of what he's asking. "You want me to keep kissing you like that?"
"Nooo," he laughs and shakes his head. "Sit on it." You sputter a choked laugh. This wasn't quite what you had in mind. You thought he'd tell you that he was different, that he would flick your clit while bouncing you on his lap. Just some effort to make you cum, not have a face-sitting session.
Not what you were expecting, but you're already eager to lift your dress.
You play with the hem of your clothes, "Right now?" He nods, licking his lips. "Yep. It's already late and hardly anyone knows this place. I got tinted windows too. You don't have to worry too much, pretty."
Shit, he's good. He took you to a low-key place, paid for dinner, kissed you almost passionately, and gave you an offer you couldn't refuse. Perhaps this mouse has more tricks than you bargained for.
"O-okay," you try to keep your innocent façade. "Just, let me know if you can't breathe." Wooyoung lets out a last laugh and helps you crawl to him. It's difficult to not step on his limbs, but you manage to hobble over his shoulders. One knee is bent on the headrest just next to his head. Your other knee is planted on the backseat, keeping you hovering above Wooyoung's face. You've perched your arms on the headrest of the back seat, facing the rear window and arching your back.
It's not the most ideal position, but you have to give Wooyoung some credit. It's doable at the very least.
Wooyoung does the honor of keeping your dress lifted. His eyes lock at your clothed core, plain underwear with the only decoration being a small wet spot where your entrance is.
"Someone got a little excited, huh?" He giggles at himself. "Do you care about your underwear getting a little more wet?"
And he's a tease? You think you're in over your head with this one. "It's okay." You feel Wooyoung nod under you and soon feel a hot muscle over your clit.
Granted, it's not as hot compared to if he took your underwear off, but it still makes you jump. Wooyoung keeps his tongue flat while moving it in gentle circles. You rock your hips against his mouth, following his muscle.
You gasp at the feel of something hard. It takes a second for your brain to register his teeth running against your slit. Your underwear makes the perfect barrier for the sensation to be wonderfully strange. You let out a moan and grind on his face. His nose bumps the peak of your clit every time you move up and he seems to be completely okay being ambushed in your cunt.
"Mmf! Like it that much?" Wooyoung pulls away just enough to speak. You grind a little more before answering, "I dunno yet."
That spurs him on. Wooyoung bunches your dress in one fist and uses his free hand to move your underwear to the side. You can't tell, but he can see how messy your pussy is. Your clit is fat, wet with need, and begging for Wooyoung to directly touch it. It makes something in him primal, aching for your raw taste on his tastebuds.
His tongue swipes over your cunt, letting your juices soak his muscle. You whine at the feeling of him and still your hips. Wooyoung's thumb hooks over your underwear so the rest of his fingers splay over your thigh. He squeezes and kneads your flesh, strangely adding to the pleasure of him tasting you.
The further he digs his digits, the more you moan. It's a trick you didn't even know existed and Wooyoung is using your surprise to his advantage.
His kitten lick feels good alone, but your toes curl at the feeling of him sucking. Wooyoung has your nub in his mouth with his tongue rolling against it. You squeal and your hips buck so roughly that your pussy pops from his mouth with a wet sound.
"Damn," he sounds raspy. "Didn't think you'd have such a sensitive pussy." Wooyoung strains his neck to reach up, latching onto your cunt once more. You whimper and carefully place your weight back on, trying your best not to move this time.
"I just," you let out a moan when he sucks it again. "It's just been a while."
Which is a lie. Well, somewhat. You got eaten out not that long ago, but not this good. Not in a position where you could get caught, where he adds the tiniest bit of pain to add to the pleasure. Everything's an additional layer of arousal that you didn't think you needed.
Wooyoung says something but it sounds like muffles in your cunt. You hone in on sliding against his face, making sure his nose and chin bump your clit with every drag. Maybe you're going a little crazy on your first date, but there's no guarantee you'll get another chance like this. You might as well use it to your advantage.
Your orgasm slowly builds. You can feel the heat in your stomach and chest, making you whine louder and higher. Wooyoung groans with you, gripping your waist and thigh harder as you suffocate him. You hang your head to look down at him, but all you can see is the top of his hair. Even if you can't see him devouring your cunt, the sight makes you clench. A reminder about how terribly empty you are.
As if knowing, Wooyoung dips his tongue until it catches your entrance. He buries it in you, uncaring how tight your pussy squeezes him and leaks. You whimper, unmoving so Wooyoung can thrust his tongue deep inside.
"Fuck. If you keep doing that I'll cum."
You nearly scream when he doesn't stop. He goes faster, so hard that you can hear the lewd noises vibrating in the car. He gulps down your essence, he moans into your pulsing cunt. Never have you met such an eager fuckboy. One who goes above and beyond without getting his dick wet once.
It's almost cute, but you don't dwell on it too much when you finally tip over. Your walls clench Wooyoung's tongue, creaming so much that it paints his lips white. He fucks you through it as he manages to slide his tongue out and across your clit.
You rest your cheek against the cushion of the backseat. Normally, guys are eager to push you off and shove their dicks in, but not Wooyoung. He eats you steadily and overwhelmingly. You're the one prying yourself from his mouth, chuckling at his protests and pleas for you to take back your seat.
Your back aches from being arched and your legs scream as you wobbly sit back on the passenger side. Wooyoung shifts his seat up while swiping his lips with his thumb. He collects the last bits of cream and pops it back into his mouth.
By far the weirdest fuckboy you've encountered, but you're not complaining. You got to cum good, got to ride out your high, and got a meal paid for. You're expecting him to ask for a blowjob, but he twists the keys into the ignition and it roars to life.
"Oh," you hadn't meant to say it out loud, but Wooyoung hears you. He turns his head to you, lips shining with your cum. "What? I'm taking you home right?"
You blink at him, completely thrown for a loop. It takes a few awkward seconds before you answer, "Yeah. Sounds good."
You're starting to think maybe he came his pants and is too shy to do anything else, but you catch the smirk as he turns back to the front windshield and puts the car in reverse.
It then occurs to you that maybe you weren't the cat after all.

Did my rewatch with a friend, some observations either from me or both of us:
--Gotouge was deep in the "bean" period at this point in the manga, drawing especially Tanjiro's face in lumpy simple shapes on a regular basis. We suspect that in this season so far, Tanjiro's face has spent most of its screen time in silly mode as opposed to normal mode.
--Before we watched, I had her guess what she thought the vibe might be for the ending theme. "I don't know, foreshadowing all their deaths or something?" GIRL, HOW DARE YOU GUESS THAT RIGHT. Also, I'm so glad the full version of "Tokoshie" is already out because it's going to be super difficult but I can't wait to give it a shot at karaoke.
--We chatted afterward about Ufotable's choices. I feel like they've upped their show-offy game in this season (thicker lines, extended scenes, varied BGM and careful sound design, slow and deliberate filler, and lighting, lighting, lighting, lighting!), which might be somewhat to compensate for the slower story pace. It's simply reality that a lot of the hype for KnY has slowed (the Mugen Ressha era levels were unsustainable, of course, that was a phenomenon), and I know many people have gotten tired of it. But frankly, those people are not Ufotable's audience now; we the captives who love spending time with these characters are the target audience, and when things pick up again, those who took a break will come back and binge these seasons. I'm sad to see some hype die away, but I have no worries about the hype train totally dying down.
--And the love and care thrown into this production shows that they have every intention of giving the final arcs the care they'll require <3
--but also AOI!!! I loved the subtle restraint of that filler. It wasn't overdone, and it's so rare to see Tanjiro and Aoi have a moment together, and to see both how Aoi has relaxed in his presence and how she remains formal. That irony and layered way of Tanjiro having no idea how he's helped her, and Aoi talking about herself in wanting to be left alone, but still finding a way to show that she cares about this person Tanjiro is talking about even though she has no idea who it is? Wonderfuuuullllll
--How softly Shinobu speaks to Kanao!!!!! The way Shinobu sits in shadow but Kanao is within reach of the sunlight!!!! (They put Kanao's hair on the same side as usual instead of matching the way the manga did this scene!)
--The glimpse in Tamayo's memories of Yoriichi encountering Muzan, the sound of his earrings tied with the sound of Tanjiro's earrings!!
--The same sort of layering in the ending theme!!
--YUSHIRO SCREAMING DESCENT
--Giyuu's face being cut out of view when he says he's not the Water Pillar
--EVERY BIT OF GIYUU AND TANJIRO INTERACTION, I'm sure Hanae Natsuki had so much fun being thoroughly obnoxious
--EVERY BIT OF GIYUU AND SABITO INTERACTION
--There is no mistaking Murata and I love that
--LITTLE GIYUU'S EEEEEEYYYYYYYYEEEEESSSS
--The height difference between Tanjiro and Giyuu in the Taisho Secrets
--Tanjiro was the one being overbearing and clingy in the episode and now in the Taisho Secrets we've got Giyuu thoroughly in "Kamado Tanjiro is my friend" mode, like "...Come eat more soba with me. Oh. Then. Come eat shake daikon with me. Are you coming? You're coming! Are you done yet? I'm staring at you from the side of the screen. I'm waiting. Come on. Hang out with me."
--I was gonna say the Taisho Secrets were obvious this time, but my friend (who has read the manga and just watched this episode with me) said, "oh, I didn't know that side was from his sister!" So... alright, good call, then, Ufotable.
--Ok but as Tanjiro is first showering Giyuu with kindness (and indeed, sitting so much in Giyuu's personal space), I was thinking about Giyuu's smile in the Taisho Secrets (shake daikon, yay~), and my friend said, "You know what this is making me think of? That panel at the end of the manga when..." --when he's smiling, I thought-- "...he thinks Tanjiro is dead." NO STOP WHY DID YOU DO THAT ME
--Love that little addition of Tanjiro cheerfully pointing out how quiet it's been, and "no! No demons here!" TANJIRO, YOU SHOULD BE VERY, VERY WORRIED ABOUT WHAT THIS MEANS
--"Now want about Tomioka-san" "What's Kocho doing?" UFOTABLE STOP THE DOOMED GIYUSHINO HURTS
--WHAT A CLIP TO END ON AND PLUNGE US INTO THAT ENDING THEME
--rude

Absolutely love your speculations and thoughts.
What do you think Raglan James' plans of doing since he made contact with Daniel? He didn't only talk to him in that sushi clip, but apparently he brought him with him somewhere (That clip where Raglan says "The great conversion is real")
I know that there's the whole body thief going around, but wouldn't that have to do with David and Lestat? Do you think they're going to bodyswap Daniel with that young (indian? i don't remember well ahah) boy, taking David's place? Because why else would he be talking to him
Thank you have an amazing day
Hello! Glad to hear you like my thoughts! 😌
So okay, I gave a lot of my thoughts about Raglan James in this post. I don't think David is going to be on the show. I think part of his character has been worked into Daniel's story, and David's character has been cut.
Now, that said, I'm actually not sure if Daniel is going to get the Body Thief plotline . . . or, I guess I should say, I don't think the story from the book is going to happen one-to-one in the show. Because I don't think Raglan James is going to steal a younger body before he makes the offer to Lestat to switch. And that is why the character is being played by Justin Kirk. Because, in some later season, Kirk is going to be playing Lestat.
Because, as I noted in the link above, I do not think this show is going to have a bunch of white men swapping around the body of a young man of color. Plus, Rolin Jones has already talked about how tricky body-switching plots can be. The book version of the story had three people swapping around. Right now, I think they are going to streamline things down to just two people -- James and Lestat.
Okay so, as to the preview for ep 2x03, well. I think what happened with Daniel toward the end of 2x02 is setting the stage for Daniel to contact or make contact with the Talamasca. I don't know if the Talamasca made contact with him before Daniel came to Dubai or will do so while Daniel is there already. But I think Raglan James will make some type of promise or deal with Daniel to make sure he'll leave Dubai unharmed or something if he gets info for them, particularly about the Great Conversion thing.
However -- I also wouldn't be surprised if Raglan James has already been kicked out of the Talamasca at this point, and is just acting on his own.
Anyway, I think the show is about to set up a 3-ep mini-arc in that people will wonder if Daniel is "betraying" Louis and Armand in some way, or if Louis and/or Armand really are going to kill Daniel or something and that the Talamasca really are trying to help Daniel or something.
And then, I think something that is revealed in Episode 2x05 will have Daniel feeling different about things again. And, if he's made some kind of deal with Raglan James, (thinking it was a deal made with the whole Talamasca), Daniel will back out of it either at the end of Episode 2x05 or the opening of Episode 2x06.
So yeah, I think Raglan James is here for a little mini-arc and will try and use Daniel to get info about the "Great Conversion" -- either for the Talamasca or just for himself and whatever plans he might have about it.
Now, as for if I think Daniel will get swapped into another body at all? Yes, I do think he will. But I don't think they'll have a new actor cast in the part of Daniel when they do it because . . . the show already has two actors playing that part. And there are other ways characters in the VC series have obtained a new body beyond just switching with another person.
But I don't think such a plotline is going to happen any time soon. This is something I really don't expect to see until just right before the Great Conversion storyline is about to kick into gear which, IMO, won't really begin until around Season 4 or the beginning of Season 5.
I hope that answers your question and have a pleasant day too!

Hello, Yuri! Now that I’m personally out of finals hell, I’ve got something to ponder over. I want to double back to the idea of Yuu having their own variants of the twst boys.
“As for Yuu avoiding them... I could see that. It would feel weird seeing someone you love so much only for it not to be them at all.” This. This right here is where it’s at. The torture of a stranger wearing your beloved’s face. The guilt of having to look this person in the eye knowing that your boy is probably worried sick waiting for you to come home. To always have a part of you expecting that fond gaze whenever your eyes meet, only to be disappointed by the realization that it isn’t him. Maybe even to have a nickname always on the tip of your tongue, waiting for one slip up to come out.
How long would it take for Yuu to crumble and (against their better judgement) seek out comfort in the arms of that imposter? An imitation of the comfort Yuu found in their boy. And this isn’t even considering the fun that could be had with the twst boy finding out that a version of him exists in Yuu’s world.
-🦐
context
AHHHHHHHH
That genuinely depends on the Yuu I should think, it also raises the question of whether or not Twisted Wonderland has a version of Yuu or if they're unique to their world. I could see Yuu trying desperately to figure out where the other Yuu is, maybe because they want to pass the buck on all the overblots or because they think it's unfair that this stranger with their friend's face is showing interest in them that's meant for the other version of themselves. Or maybe Yuu got the proper isekai treatment and truck-kun really did kill them, so this imitation is the closest they'll get to being with their guy again.
I've been thinking about Yuu's World! Vil a lot recently with the jp Chapter 7 updates. Vil says he's more relaxed when he's alone with his friends, that he's much more touchy and we know how supportive he can be of other people wanting to be their best selves. I picture him being overworked but still somehow smiling, the closest Yuu gets to seeing that same smile is after he overblots and still performs for the VDC, but they can't say they're happy to see it. They want their Vil back, their Vil whose look they tried to mimic when getting ready that morning pretending that he was the one who did it. That they still remember what it was like to be touched by him, loved by him, seen as human by him and not whatever this Vil sees them as. This Vil was very caught up in focusing on the VDC, so much so he ignored almost everything around him but he noticed how... in tune, with his inner thoughts and self Yuu seemed to be. It was like they knew him, not the super model, or the actor, but that inner truth he's so afraid of in himself. He wants to hear them say he's beautiful more than anything in the world, he feels like they would truly mean it so he's beyond frustrated that something is holding them back. Before the VDC he just assumes he isn't beautiful enough. After words he just assumes it's because he doesn't know them that well, who knows how he would handle the truth.
I like the idea of Halloween, or maybe something like an eclipse or a solstice making the veil between worlds thinner, and allowing someone from Yuu's world to briefly visit Twisted Wonderland in the form of a sort of ghost. Given how selfish the guys are I don't think they'd take kindly to someone trying to take Yuu away from them, even if it's a different version of themselves. For some (azul) I think that might actually make it worse...

Little Garm in DR!!!!!!!
Ok but seriously I think of this a bit too much, just, imagine Garm somehow becoming a kid, 'future' memories lost and all that. He wakes up with a sort of clear mind (no venom) and last thing he remembers are a bunch of lights and colors. He has no idea where he is or what happened. Luckily, only a few days pass by for Garmadon to find the monastery. The empty and somewhat different looking monastery.. Which proves not to be so empty when he finds out a green colored stranger was there!
Lots of confusion ensues.
Garmadon doesn't really trust Lloyd but doesn't do anything either because he's apparently an elemental master and trained ninja. That must mean something! Besides, he feels some weird kind of connection to this random guy... Like this stranger is not a complete stranger. In an odd, unique way.
Yeah. Lloyd doesn't tell him he's his son. As much as it hurts. Because Garm's, well, a kid and they just(? met. And he'd feel more stressed. This is his father, just, younger... Much younger. And he doesn't remember Lloyd either which is, ok, ouch, but also makes a lot of sense. Also, last time they saw each other their relationship wasn't the best! Ugh! Why do these things happen to him?!
At first it would be very awkward of course. Garmadon would have questions and Lloyd would answer them the best way he could, maybe when the questions get personal answers might become pretty vague but hey, it's still the truth!
Kid Garmadon with his venom-free mind would be upset with the things he did and said and would miss his little brother. Eventually he'd open up to the only person there, Lloyd, who would try to reassure and comfort him, an act too familiar.. (Cough, Sensei G, cough cough)
Maybe after that little Garm would begin to trust Lloyd. Maybe. Also, what is he even searching for all day? (Anything about the merge and how to get Garm back to being his abnormally normal self)
Somehow, through unconsciousness Garmadon gets some of his memories back. But he's still not himself. So... He experiments a little
G: Lloyd, do you hate me?
L: *Stops whatever he was doing to look at Garm* What? No, no, of course not! Why would I- why do you- no!
Mannn, I can think of so many ways this au could give some angst. and fluff. Especially this: imagine little Garmadon seeing his emperor self in a dream or something like that and then he starts getting his Oni traits and it freaks him out knowing what he's possibly gonna turn into. And Lloyd knows that feeling all too well... At first he has no idea what to do because he still hasn't accepted his own Oni side, but what if he eventually begins to accept it through trying to help his lil dad?? What if he mentions a certain Oni friend?? (Mystake) Whaat if wbat if AGHH They both deserve a hug. And they'll both seek each other for it!!!!

Not to speculate (as I speculate) but I really don't think they would have just shared something like that if it was really serious. If it was serious, it most definitely would have been a big relationship issue and I honestly don't think they would have shared it at all. Phil's phrasing makes me think it was less a concrete plan but more Dan just wanting to experience living on his own after spending literally his entire adult life living with Phil. If you think about it, he has literally never lived on his own, from his parents house, to uni with roommates and also basically living with Phil, to now. I also felt this probably took place around ii, maybe around the time they were talking about finally buying their own place, maybe around the same time he wanted to cancel the tour? and that it might have generally just been a confusing time for him, but what do I know :)
no you're right, they weren't talking about the situation with the amount of gravitas befitting it, if it were actually serious. i'm guessing the fact that it was even considered enough to be verbalised was enough for phil to bring it up in the spill or kill, because it's truly insane and unthinkable!! dan moving out????? even as a joke???? i need to tell our followers about this, they'll go insane (and that we did)
he really has never lived on his own and at this rate he's not gonna (but he's so happy with that and good for him :')) wad was really good for him i think because he did get to experience that solo life for a while, and came to the conclusion from proper experience that nope, he's good spending his life with phil, and went back to him :'))))) it was an informed decision
yeah there were so many things happening around ii time, and dan was not in the best place with a lot of it. i can see it happening. different people keep bringing up good points as to what era phil might have been referring to and now idek anymore 😭😂

A Hidden True Heart
Aleks -> @alypink OC
Vasili/Bell -> @welldonekhushi OC
Koa -> @islandtarochips OC
Tumblr media
Charles Moore was looking at the figure on his living room, letting the smoke fill the space between them for a second, then he just sighed. He took off his glasses and cleaned them while he tried to think about what to say, then looked at the person again.
"What are you doing here, girl?" he asked while he frowned "where's Bell? Usually he's the only one that comes to bother me"
"Adler and Park sent me, and about Bell, well, he had things to do" Aleksandra answered with a sigh "I came for the information Hudson and Adler asked for"
"Yeah, I know, I know. Do they need me to go and explain it?"
"No"
"Finally I can have some peace while you lead with those idiots" he muttered as he started to look for his notebooks "there are many things about soviet security systems that they don't know. Some of them are understimated by people like Adler, and trust me, there are many differences between the government systems and the other faction systems. The base is similar to the KGB, but I have to say, whoever planned the rest...is some kind of genius, the codification is based on a different pattern"
"Wow, how did you-?"
"I don't ask about Adler's way to do things, don't ask about mine"
"Fair, what about the Stasi's organization?"
"Very similar to what the KGB is, but without the stealth or the working ethic" he said with a shitty smile, that soon dissapeared "I met someone not so long ago, and thanks to that man, I have something that might interest you to eavde some places"
Charles showed her a page of his notebook, where some names were written, with just an abbreviation on the side. And that made Aleks look at Charles, surprised for the intel he had.
"This one and this other are on some kind of crisis, they don't consider the URSS as their place to be and are questioning all their believes" he said, pointing to some names "I'd tell that old bum to go and have a word with them. Do it before the reds get them"
"I...see" she said, reading the notes on the side "pragmatic? Like you? Will they work with us?"
"Offer them a good deal or find one of these that believes on the capitalist system and the liberal democracy"
"We will, thank you, Charles"
Before they could say anything else, the lights flicker and the constant line that Aleks had with the safehouse failed, and that put them both alert. The woman threw him the notebooks again, pointing at his bag, and Charles packed anything with sensible information in a matter of seconds. Once the last document was into the bag, Aleks made him run away down the aisle as she took out a gun, going right after him.
"I need to take you to the safehouse, now" she said with her jaw clenched
"Take the intel and go, they won't do-" he tried to say, just to be interrupted by Aleks
"Don't be so naive, Charles, it doesn't fits you. They'll do anything to know whatever they can about us and what information you have"
In minutes they were outside as the rain drenched them, but they continued running while they heard how the people started to notice they weren't there. A little detonation, softer than it usually was, called their attention just at the same time that a bullet hit the metal door near them. Aleks cursed while she shot back, trying to comunicate with the safehouse ot with anyone, but without use.
The sounds of bullets against different surfaces filled Charles' ears, but he continued as he heard Aleks more serious than ever, almost screaming orders to him. For a second he felt offended, but that feeling soon was replaced by the need to survive, and when they arrived to a huge neighborhood filled with old basements. While she tried to open any door, Charles hugged the bag to protect it from the rain, feeling paranoia and fear.
He noticed an unlocked door by pure luck, and when he was about to tell Aleks about it, a shot hit her leg as she screamed in pain. For a second he stood up frozen, but then he gave her the bag and started to drag her as fast as he could to that open door, watching with disgust the dirty basement. Once he left Aleks againt a table, he closed the door, locked it and use anything he could find as a barricade. Then he felt his heart beating so quickly that he thought of a heart attack, and the adrenaline ended, leaving him once again as weak as he was.
"Fuck, there's another entrance, isn't it? Shit" he whispered before running to check on Aleks
"Charles..."
"Shut up, alright? Shut the fuck up, that's exactly why I didn't wanted Adler to send you here, you're too careless" he hissed, using his belt to make a tourniquet while his hands were getting covered in blood "now I have to find a way to take you out of here"
"Maybe we can contact with the saf-"
"How?! Somehow they damaged the line you had!"
"Just let me look for something-"
"Don't you dare move! You're gonna bleed out at this rate!"
As he said that, he stood up frustrated, passing a hand over his now soaked hair. Soon he started to look around to find anything that could help them, which was an old radio, probably their only hope. When he looked it closely, he sighed as he noticed that was a model that the Stasi and almost everyone had pinched, but at the same time they had no other option.
"How do I use it?" Charles asked in a growl
"Are you sure...?"
"Yes, now tell me!"
Aleks told him the instructions, and Charles followed them with his hands shaking, finally finding a good conection. Then he started to look for a line they could use, one that he heard Bell say once, muttering the numbers for himself.
"Bell, please tell me you copy" he said through the radio
"..."
"Answer damnit!" Charles screeched in despair
"Moore? What's going on?" Bell/Vasili asked, answering the line "how do you-?"
"We fucking need help! The Stasi found us!"
"What?!"
"The girl is shot and I don't know how much it'll last!"
"...Where are you?"
"Like two or three blocks away from my assignated aparment"
"Ahh blyat" Bell hissed, before getting serious "give me ten, I'll be there"
The line was cut, and after that, Charles used anything he could find as a weapon, shaking as a leaf. He was so scared, knowing that he didn't have any opportunity to defend himself, but maybe...maybe he could win time for Aleks. For a second he looked the wounded woman, trying to control his broken breath, then hearing how the principal door of the building opened.
Charles lifted up the steel bar as the basement door opened, cursing as some officers entered as they screamed in german. He tried to use the bar to defend himself, but the Stasi took it from his hands and started to beat him up while roaring questions, and Charles covered his head as an instinct. For a second the world became blurry because of the pain, but a shot made the beating stop and blindly he ran to cover Aleks with his own body, unable to see correctly without his glasses.
"Calm down, Charles" Vasili/Bell told him, walking towards him "I'm not gonna ruin your face even more"
"Bell? You little-" he hissed before smiling tiredly "first time I'm glad to see you"
"Yeah, how do you feel?"
"Help the girl first, I'm not that weak" Charles muttered, moving aside "the Stasi got her worst"
"...If you say so. Also, that wasn't the Stasi, they were Perseus' soldiers"
"Ahh fuck"
"So it was true" Koa said as he entered, making Charles sigh "you were attacked. I thought you'd leave Aleks"
"Listen asshole, I can be a prick, but I won't play with lives that are my responsability" Charles hissed "I'm not Adler"
"...I know, but that doesn't take down the fact that you're a son of a bitch" the Captain said, giving him his glasses "here, get them, mole"
"Fuck off, jackass"
Tumblr media
Back in the safehouse, Charles hissed as Mason reluctanly helped him with his arm, and he walked outside with his jacket over his shoulders when he finished. He frowned towards Adler, who just looked at him in silence, all while Aleks was being treated. Charles went to talk with him, furious while he tried not to move his injured arm, squaring up ready to fight him even if he was in absolutely disadvantage.
"Don't you fucking send that girl to me again" he growled, looking the agent in the eyes "I won't lead with her again"
"We'll see" Adler said, indiferently
Charles mumbled something in the middle of his rage, but walked away to where Koa was. The Captain looked at him, then scoffed before looming outside again, while Vasili/Bell was near...now less keen to talk, just staring at Adler. And soon the professor looked at him, nodding as a thanks, then leaning against the wall.
"So your arm is broken now, huh?" Koa murmured without looking at him
"Not quite, just hurt" he answered with a sigh "...thanks for the help, Nakiu"
"I was near and Bell found me, I just went for Aleks"
"I'm aware, but still. Also, I wanted to ask you for something"
"What...is it?"
"Can you help me to train? I prefer not to be beaten to the pulp again"
"Right, because of you..." Koa murmured, not believing that last part "I guess I can look for a way to help, but I won't have mercy with you, prick"
"I know"
"Hmm, and what are you gonna do about the information? Bell got the bag before"
Vasili/Bell nodded, giving him the notebook, raising an eyebrow in a silent question. When the man looked at Adler again, they followed his look and Charles only sighed, leaving the notebook over a table and then writing the couple of names he told Aleks before. He gave him the piece of paper with a dead stare, to which Vasili/Bell just smiled in silence before taking the paper and go to give it to Adler and Park.
"Why not the whole thing?" Koa whispered as he took out a cigarette
"And give Adler objectives, information and escentially power in East Berlin? Don't make me laugh" Charles answered, taking his notebook again "I'd be stupid if I did"
Soon Aleks walked towards them, moving with difficulty using the crutches, but smiling quietly. And Koa noticed a bit of regret on Charles' eyes, but he didn't say anything, just staying in silence for a while.
"Hey Charles, thank you for before" she said calmly, smiling slightly
"...Ujum, now go sit somewhere" he murmured, worried and irritated, pinching the his nose bridge "you're hurt and even clumsier now, find somewhere to sit and stop walking around"
"You are an asshole" Aleks muttered with a little smile, hugging him quickly before going to sit near the evidence board "anyway, thanks Charlie!"
"...Pfff, you should see your face" Koa wheezed beside him
"Shut up" Charles growled, irritated
For a second they stayed in silence, just looking how Vasili/Bell helped Aleks to move and sit, surprisingly careful. And when the professor sighed, Koa just raised an eyebrow, smiling softly as he put a hand over Charles' shoulder.
"You feel guilty, don't you?"
"...She shouldn't have been there, neither should've saved me" he answered quietly "maybe if she wasn't there, she wouldn't have been shot and now like this. She got hurt because of me"
"Well, you also defended her down there, even if you were blind as hell. I guess you're fair as well, and that's why you want to learn or at least be fit?"
"Meh, kind of" he answered, also taking out a cigarette
"Will you ever forget it?"
"...No, I'll never forget it nor forgive myself. If I was stronger, then this wouldn't have happened"
"If you say so, Charlie"
"Don't start you too, stupid meathead" Charles growled, then sighed before giving Koa his notebook "I prefer that you have it, use it with Bell however you think is the best"
"...I'll make a war crime, y'know?" he joked, looking at him
"Then leave me out of it, frame Adler now that you're on it" he scoffed as well
"Heh, deal. Have a light?"
"...No" he said while he used his lighter to light his cigarette
"You fucker"
"Get used to it, Nakiu"

I want to know how all might reacts to reincarnated afo!aizawa
Like I think All Might would understand that Aizawa doesn't remember his villainous past, and has essentially been reborn, but the fact that afo somehow managed to get away with it (in a matter of speaking at least) must be like one of those forbidden itches from another dimension: forever vexing him
So All Might doesnt find out about this until Aizawa goes to him himself a few months after the worst of it, which is important because the reaction is defintely something that would vary based on when and how he learned it.
As it is, Aizawa goes to Might Tower and is like "Hey, I'm a UA student, Nedzu emailed All Might and said why he needed to see me, if he hasn't checked it tell him its about All For One." and is quickly sent up to talk. All Might is confused about the why- this kid is like, sixteen, AfO could have been dead before he was born.
But then Aizawa sighs, and says "I was born on the day you killed All For One," which means he knows way more information than he should, and All Might listens even when the kid immediately seems to go off topic by explaining that he's always wanted to be a hero, even though erasure is a weak quirk, and he knew he wouldn't be able to be a hero like All Might. Then he gets to the Garvey fight, and very quietly says that when he tried to erase the villain, he stole one of his quirks instead. All Might looks at the boy's palms, and sees.
But he doesn't quite see the truth yet.
"You're All For One's son." He breathes.
Shouta shakes his head. "No. Worse. I was born the day you killed him, right? Well, the hospital I was born at, there was a doctor that worked for AfO. Tried to save his life. Couldn't. So AfO ordered him to grab a baby, and transfered his quirk... to me." All Might relaxes, because that is tragic, but easier to deal with- "And then, I guess, they lost me? Not sure, but um, after Gravey, i went to the hospital and the Doctor kept messing with me. He was giving me more of All For One's quirks... and his memories. And i- it was so stupid, I went in there alone, and now... it's all there. in me."
All Might is no longer relaxed. He stares at the kid. Miserable, Aizawa holds out a hand, and a spike shoots out from it. One All Might remembers going into his chest, and he flinches.
Aizawa puts his hand down.
"I can't figure it out."
"Can't figure what out?" All Might asks.
"I can't figure out if I'm more me or more him now. I mean, I feel like I'm in charge. But he's been alive a lot longer, even if so much of those memories a blur. And, logically, even if he isn't in my head, his memories have to affect me. I mean, i knew going alone was stupid, but all those memories of his power, his pride, i ignored it and went anyway. I can't figure out what it means to know all of this now, who I am or what I should do."
All Might nods. He feels such pity for the boy, such grief he didn't prevent this. caused it, even, really. "And you came to me?"
"Yeah. You're the person alive who's known All For One the longest, except Gran Torino and I didn't know how to find him." The teen shrugs. "You'd be the one to know if he's... you know, if i'm him. You'd be the one to stop him."
All Might stares at him, not moving, not speaking. Aizawa beings to twitch despite himself.
"You trusted me to fix this." He finally says. "Yeah, there's no way in hell All For One's in charge of your brain then. You're safe, kid. You might have the memories, but i take it you hate the guy in them?"
"More than anything. You're sure? It makes sense that i could be influenced-"
"Young Aizawa. You're safe. I am sure. And if that changes, i'll make sure to help you. I am here."
Aizawa goes nearly boneless on the couch. "Thanks."
"No problem. I'm guessing you'd feel better if you were doing something about it, though?"
"Huh?"
"You're a hero. You feel better when you're doing something."
"Yeah. What do you have in mind?"
"Let's see if any of your new old memories can help us weed out anyone else who could be planning something like the Doctor was, and then come up with some plans to use all those quirks in you now for good."
Aizawa smiles for the first time in weeks. It is a terrifying smile, but it is absolutely nothing like All For One's too-calculated smirk. All Might smiles back.

post-hamlet thoughts
tl;dr my college did hamlet and i was in it and it was cool
first of all, in case i hadn't made this clear already, this was entirely student-produced. i mean, we got some money from the theater department, but people-wise, it was all students.
i've told the rest of the cast this time and time again, but they're so good. insanely dedicated and humbling in their talent.
our hamlet, horatio, ophelia, and laertes were all freshman, and they were all stellar. ophelia and laertes broke my heart every night in the second half with their anger and their sadness. horatio always brings top energy to scenes and had lots of funny moments (espec counting his doubling as the second gravedigger) but also made me feel things (we staged act 4 scene 6 as him alone on stage reading hamlet's letter to the audience and he killed it every time). and our hamlet was just incredible; a pleasure to act against as guildenstern and a pleasure to watch / listen to in their more emotional scenes.
and everyone else was great too! our polonius was always funny but also had genuine moments of connection with his kids; our cladius brought some great depth to the role (his take on the monologue in act 3 scene 3 was great) while still being despicable, especially in his manipulation of laertes; our gertrude brought our director's take on her to life impeccably; and, of course, i had a wonderful and hilarious partner in our rosencrantz :)
not to mention our quartet of players (who also filled out the other miscellaneous roles) who had a ton of great moments. shout-outs in particular to the guy who doubled as the first gravedigger and sang his sung lines as a sea shanty (honestly, i think he could have been a great guildenstern or rosencrantz in another universe).
the crew, of course, was also amazing. there were like 150 cues? my friend (the writer i mentioned in this post) did a fantastic job with the lights. the people behind the staging and makeup did just as well. and the costumes were so fun! everyone looked great; we had a consistent black-white-red-brown color palette that tied it all together. special shout-out to the player king wearing a white shirt with a black cape while cladius wore a zipped-up leather jacket and a white cape.
oh, and me and ros? we got fedoras :) i may share a photo later. maybe.
we did our show in the college black box theater (inside the fine arts building), which i do not currently have the brain cells to try and explain the layout of. it's a kind of weird space, but i think we made the most of it. for the majority of the show i was off stage left, meaning i was hanging out at the top of the stairs which serve as the main entrance and exit to the theater (sitting/standing where i couldn't be seen by the audience obv). you can't really see the stage at all from there but you sure can hear the actors, and by the time of the show that was (mostly) enough for me.
as far as how the actual shows went?
friday was our most engaged audience. their laughter was greatly appreciated in the early scenes ...slightly less so when everyone was dying in the final scene. i mean, i get it, people start dropping like flies and actually foaming at the mouth and spitting out (fake) blood; it's a lot. i applaud hamlet and horatio for staying in character through it. everyone did a great job that night; it was probably better than all our dress rehearsals as a whole.
saturday, at least from my pov, had kind of weird vibes at the start? i don't know how much of it was people getting to bed late the previous night, how much of it was overconfidence, and how much of it was people getting in their own heads, but it was our lowest energy show. the audience wasn't as audibly engaged either, but they did give us a big applause. i felt more good than bad about it by the end, for sure.
especially in retrospect, because, despite us having a smaller crowd at today's matinee, everyone was back on the ball. the ending in particular i think was the best we've ever done it. it was probably my best performance as well.
to be clear, i wouldn't rate any of our three shows below an 8 out of 10, for what that's worth. everyone gave so much to their performances; the funny bits were funny even when the audience didn't seem to think so, and i was always getting caught up in my feelings in the second act. you can't ask for much more than that.
now, here's a compilation of things from the production in no real order:
i already posted about this, but having the blood stains on stage where people die from the beginning of every show? *chef's kiss*
i'll also restate the thing i mentioned in the tags of that post: characters who were murderers had symbolic blood makeup after they killed someone. cladius had a bloody ear from the start of the show, the meaning of which becomes clear once you see the player king get poison poured in his ears; hamlet got blood on their face during intermission that's meant to be polonius's blood; and, arguably most significantly, gertrude had bloody handprints around her neck when she entered at the end of act 4, which, in addition to her hair and arms being dripping wet, is meant to suggest that the story she tells about ophelia's death is, in fact, a cover for something less accidental.
as mentioned above, our director's take on gertrude in general was, from my understanding, pretty different from the standard. to quote from his character spines, "you fundamentally want to prepare your son hamlet to be king; you are playing essentially a game of chess to do so." it was really compelling to see in action. the way she performed act 4 scene 7? chilling.
speaking of those character spines, the first line of horatio's is literally just, "You are in love with Hamlet." and boy howdy did that come through
prime example of that (other than just, all of his and hamlet's interactions, which were wonderful): when horatio finished reading the letter from hamlet, he sniffed it, in a very sweet and very not-platonic way
it was an unintentional running gag throughout the whole process that other cast members would forget between ros and me which character we were playing - to the point that every performance, when hamlet first greeted us, even though i would get to them first, they addressed me first, and it's written that they say my name first, they would call me rosencrantz and our ros guildenstern. ...someone should write a play about that.
i might have posted about this already, but in ros and i's first scene with hamlet, when the two of them start talking about child actors, hamlet made us sit in the thrones, and we would make moves to leave of varying boldness that they, of course, never let us follow through on. this then got basically repeated in act 3 scene 2 except that horatio got to join in on the fun of relentlessly mocking us
(the thing where hamlet handed me their copy of william shakespeare's complete works while they dud the "what is a man" mimi monologue got dropped at some point in the dress rehearsals, unfortunately. they did flip through it with the players though)
during the play within a play, polonius would keep falling asleep and ros and i would keep waking him up
(we also got to do some fun silent banter back in act 2 scene 2 while hamlet and the players were doing their thing)
then the bit after that with the recorders, aka guildenstern's defining moment, was just so fun. hamlet and horatio basically sandwiched ros and me between the two of them, and hamlet and i played off each other very well (at least imo), and though i couldn't see what horatio and ros were doing behind me i know that it got some good laughs. and i could tell every night that the scene landed despite the shakespearean language barrier, so i can't help but be satisfied.
my other best moment was when the king told me to go get polonius's body from the stairs and i got to slump and make a "do i have to?" face before my (final) exit. i managed to actually get some chuckles from that tonight, from the crowd that, again, laughed the least in general, and i can't put into words how euphoric i was to have that be my last moment playing guildenstern.
from the rest of the second half of the show, which i am not in, i will highlight a) the gravedigger eventually realizing after shoveling for minutes on end that he's been shoveling literally nothing (love me a good little fourth wall break) and b) when hamlet and laertes come to physical blows over ophelia, horatio, on his line, steps between them, draws laertes's sword, and takes a stance pointing it at laertes to hold him off, all in basically one glorious motion.
oh, and the ending, of course.
as i alluded to way earlier, we had fake blood and alka-seltzer tablets that the people who died in act 5 scene 2 used to great effect (particularly the people who died via poison)
speaking of that scene, the sword fight was very neat! well-choreographed and well-enacted. real foils btw
and the way hamlet and horatio performed the ending? more than anything, the way hamlet said "give me the cup; let go!" - that shit hurt, in the best way, every night. (and though hamlet died in the king's throne (with the king's crown on), horatio held / clung to them the whole damn time)
for a lighter final note: our polonius doubled as fortinbras and came on at the ending in this huge, heavy, vampire-ass cloak, accompanied by our director as the messenger from england who announces my and ros's death :)
thankfully, we did record our last dress rehearsal, so we do have a version of it that we'll get to watch back in the future. i won't be able to share it with any of y'all (we will apparently be in BIG trouble if we post it anywhere online) but it'll be nice to have for me.
funny thing that happened while i was typing this long-ass post out: i kept using present tense and then realizing i had to change it to past tense. and by "funny" here, i mean, uh... oof.
we never got a perfect run-through where no lines were skipped over, but, i mean, it's fucking hamlet. we did this shit in like a month and a half (with a week lost to spring break); it's more than impressive that the show turned out how it did. it was a group labor of love, and one of the best things i've ever gotten to be a part of.
and i miss it already.
...at least there's movie night on tuesday :)

A friend inspired me with smth so I'm finally going to pop off and sound like the pretentious art college grad I secretly am
Writing canon characters is a farce. You're writing your character.
"Mirth what do you mean"
Thank you, strawman, allow me to elaborate. The second an author picks up a character, it is instantly their own. People put too much stake into fitting the mold, when really, you have ceased being a proper canon character the nanosecond you have initiated writing. You are writing your interpretation and, arguably, that cannot be considered the same.
You are INSPIRED. That's marvelous. That's fantastic, even. Your mind is fundamentally different from everyone else's, meaning this character, inspired by whatever take you enjoy most, is going to be irreplaceably unique. No matter what or who changes, that is a constant!
You're allowed to change and develop your character, unbound by whatever canon says or does. Roleplaying is a collaborative front and, frankly, you should be allowed to be as free with your muse as you wish. Get inspired by works, allow your characters to change and grow-- heck, if you get so inspired that it's so fucking different from canon it has to become an OC? THAT'S FUCKING INCREDIBLE!!! GO FOR IT!!!
You're a WRITER! Your work is irreplaceable because there will NEVER be another you and that's so freeing! You aren't held down by anything save yourself! If inspiration strikes, go for it! The entire purpose of this artform is to INSPIRE AND BE INSPIRED! So fuck around! Find out! That's the point! That's SICK AS FUCK!!!
Tumblr media
Anyways, that's all! Have a good one, everybody!

@beatingheart-bride
Although they had joked about sharing (and stealing) sweets just last night, Randall felt his heart skip when she asked him this: Sharing alone was an alien concept to him (the carnies used to tease him, saying they wanted to share something with him, only to yank it out of his hand at the last second), but when had anyone ever remembered that something was his favorite? He could feel his heart ache at the notion that she thought of him first to share them with-not her friends in the ballet corps, but him.
“I-I would love to,” he managed to reply, trying not to let his voice crack with emotion as he moved to sit beside her, peering at the little bon-bons, little balls of chocolate and strawberry crème, one of the most decadent treats in all the city. His eyes were as big as dinner plates as he settled in next to her, reaching a spidery hand down to pluck one up from its little cup and pop into his mouth, his tongue happily greeted by milky chocolate and smooth strawberry. It was nothing short of bliss for his tastebuds.
“Thank you,” he managed to say with a smile to her, cheeks pink behind the mask-what a curious thing, to be...known. It was kind of strange and embarrassing, to have these little things (inconsequential though they were) known by her, but it was also...gratifying, at the same time, to know that Emily knew him so well, and didn’t think twice about sharing with him. It was touching to be seen; perhaps it wasn’t the most intimate thing to know about him, but to have this fondness be remembered by her...it meant more to him than he could say.

I'm studying international relations but i didn't really get it bc of it it was mostly luck and coincidence tbh bc there's this girl from school I'm friendly with and she posted on her ig story about that internship and so i contacted her and she gave me her boss's number and so i contacted her and that was it. she didn't even interview me she was just like so tell me a little about yourself so besides the basics i told her what i was studying and my school and she never asked about that and well really my career has Nothing to do w music it's literally economics w a nicer name <\3 lol so yeah what people say it's true the most important thing is for you to know people anyone really like i never would've imagined this girl would give me It but yeah i also suggest searching record labels or the places where you'd like to work and straight up ask them if you can do your internships there etc and i don't think it's that hard bc they also didn't ask anything of me they didn't ask for a CV or asked about previous experience and in my friend's story she literally said no experience needed so yeah!!!! take a chance w the companies themselves or just ask around with ur friends or people that also seem interested in that stuff:)

seriously, though. i work in higher education, and part of my job is students sending me transcripts. you'd think the ones who have the least idea how to actually do that would be the older ones, and while sure, they definitely struggle with it, i see it most with the younger students. the teens to early 20s crowd.
very, astonishingly often, they don't know how to work with .pdf documents. i get garbage phone screenshots, sometimes inserted into an excel or word file for who knows what reason, but most often it's just a raw .jpg or other image file.
they definitely either don't know how to use a scanner, don't have access to one, or don't even know where they might go for that (staples and other office supply stores sometimes still have these services, but public libraries always have your back, kids.) so when they have a paper transcript and need to send me a copy electronically, it's just terrible photos at bad angles full of thumbs and text-obscuring shadows.
mind bogglingly frequently, i get cell phone photos of computer screens. they don't know how to take a screenshot on a computer. they don't know the function of the Print Screen button on the keyboard. they don't know how to right click a web page, hit "print", and choose "save as PDF" to produce a full and unbroken capture of the entirety of a webpage.
sometimes they'll just copy the text of a transcript and paste it right into the message of an email. that's if they figure out the difference between the body text portion of the email and the subject line, because quite frankly they often don't.
these are people who in most cases have done at least some college work already, but they have absolutely no clue how to utilize the attachment function in an email, and for some reason they don't consider they could google very quickly for instructions or even videos.
i am not taking a shit on gen z/gen alpha here, i'm really not.
what i am is aghast that they've been so massively failed on so many levels. the education system assumed they were "native" to technology and needed to be taught nothing. their parents assumed the same, or assumed the schools would teach them, or don't know how themselves and are too intimidated to figure it out and teach their kids these skills at home.
they spend hours a day on instagram and tiktok and youtube and etc, so they surely know (this is ridiculous to assume!!!) how to draft a formal email and format the text and what part goes where and what all those damn little symbols means, right? SURELY they're already familiar with every file type under the sun and know how to make use of whatever's salient in a pinch, right???
THEY MUST CERTAINLY know, innately, as one knows how to inhale, how to type in business formatting and formal communication style, how to present themselves in a way that gets them taken seriously by formal institutions, how to appear and be competent in basic/standard digital skills. SURELY. Of course. RIGHT!!!!
it's MADDENING, it's insane, and it's frustrating from the receiving end, but even more frustrating knowing they're stumbling blind out there in the digital spaces of grown-up matters, being dismissed, being considered less intelligent, being talked down to, because every adult and system responsible for them just
ASSUMED they should "just know" or "just figure out" these important things no one ever bothered to teach them, or half the time even introduce the concepts of before asking them to do it, on the spot, with high educational or professional stakes.
kids shouldn't have to supplement their own education like this and get sneered and scoffed at if they don't.
