i've been streaming a blind playthrough of hollow knight to 2 groups of people for the past month and a half and i really wanted to share some of my favorite experiences ><

#better drawn mdzs #mdzs #lan wangji #Happy 'It took me a whole month to figure out what Mermay was all about'!#fun fact about me: prior to all this blog stuff I use to be really fascinated by jellyfish.#to the point they were one of the few things I could draw.#when I was trying to practice art before I started making these comics #I was constantly baffled by hair. I did not understand its form or its mysteries.#Then the ghost of my past jelly-loving self suddenly grabbed me by the shoulders and went 'Dude. just like jellyfish'.#cue me going 'Oh my god. Just like Jellyfish'. And then I kinda got the jist of it.#This is all to say that the majority of LWJ's appearances (especially early on) are 100% directly inspired by jellyfish #This idea has been lingering in my mind for months...being able to pull off an idea and translate it onto the page....#nothing beats that feeling B'*)#This is teenji btw. He isn't complete unless he's on the verge of extremely frustrated tears. Sopping wet and biting. Just like...jellyfish #And now that I know mermay is a thing I finally have an excuse to dunk him into the water.

Not stupid at all! I've definitely thought about it a lot, but comic making is hard work, it's extremely time consuming (either that or my method of drawing is just absurdly inefficient. Probably both). I don't think it's something I could just pick up and realistically fit into my daily life, at least not at the moment. I'm just one person with very limited time and resources. Sorry!

#I'd need a clone #a paint goblin if you will #that would just draw day in day out and make the thing for me #it's sad but I think my best bet is trying to make super short one shots with a very limited number of pages #or just a handful of panels even #I have a whole bunch of those in progress but again who knows when I'll be able to finish any of them #answered #m0notropa-uniflora #If I were to make a proper serious long comic #I'd have to finally grit my teeth and git gud at backgrounds and that just doesn't sound like fun time in the slightest if I'm being honest

Finally, I managed to combine three of my favorite things: Alice, Patho, and Celtic knotwork. I've justified why each healer was represented by a given pair of lines to no end.

"Imperious Prima" for Daniil because he is kind of an imperious shithead (still love him though), and because he is most people's first experience with Pathologic so "to begin it."

Artemy gets "in gentler tones" because he is overall a more gentle character than frigid Dankovsky. He also experiences a lot of nonsense and delves underground just like Secunda (Alice).

Clara is Tertia because she does, in fact, interrupt the tale. Kind of.

If you look at the border, you might be able to find the three colors I used to represent the healers tangled up with eachother.

I might post some close-up/detail shots later, weather permitting.

I'm just in the process of learning to do digital art on an ancient tiny tablet, so I literally printed this out to color with markers and pencil crayons as a fun coffee time activity
