I am absolutely stuck on the image of Jon inviting Martin to stay at his and Daisy's apartment post-Prentiss. Did he just forget about the deadbolt? Is this so normal to Jon he forgot how weird that is? Does Daisy still use it? So many questions, so many amazing possibilities.

i feel like if they ever have ppl over they’re like... other sectioned  cops. and so if they went upstairs and saw the deadbolt* with their prior knowledge of daisy being v protective and jon being kinda a troublemaker (bc there’s no way being kidnapped significantly reduces his wandering or general bad idea generation) it’s really easy for them to be convinced that this is the only effective way daisy could ground jon. y’know, 15,16,17′s a lil old, but my parents used to use the doorknob lock to lock me in my room for timeouts when i was like 6. it’s not that out there. and by the time he’s an Adult and it is definitely weird, they’re either less in contact with daisy’s cop friends or it’s fallen into the background of everyone’s mental image of their house and been accepted as normal. even jon only rlly thinks about it when daisy goes somewhere for a few days and locks him in.

* (i have a v detailed mental blueprint of their house, the money comes from daisy using vague future memories of like when the housing crash happened and major sports events + stealing from suspects (before her acab realization) + it was a fixer upper a coworker’s relative was willing to sell cheap as like an act of charity for this young woman raising her brother solo + tbh maybe safehouse period martin just texted everyone peter lukas’ bank info, he was dead and rich no ones gonna notice a few thousand missing even in the past where he’s alive. be gay eat the eldritch rich)

but martin didn’t know Jon The Terrible Teen. instead of that context, he has Jon The Potential Missing Person. plus there are other things just a lil bit off- daisy def has a bunch of pics, especially polaroids, but there don’t seem to be any of jon before age 15, and he looks p uncomfy in most of the early ones. he knew jon lived out in the suburbs but didn’t realize until now that daisy’s the only one with a car. jon having the master bedroom almost makes sense with how daisy dotes on him, but also with the deadbolt he can’t help but think it’s gotta be much easier to lock someone up in the bedroom with an en suite bathroom.

Wait. also also. i have. A Lot of backstory about Weird Inscrutable Things Daisy’s done that make sense in the context of knowing about the fears and trying to make absolutely sure no one tries to take jon away from her and actually genuinely caring about jon’s mental well being. but that are really weird from an outside perspective. (ex: daisy realizes that if they’re pretending to be siblings it’s kinda weird there aren’t any picture of them together, or jon generally, before like last week, and instead of making up like a house fire or sth she breaks into jon’s grandmas house weeks to months after taking him and steals all her photos of jon, bc a picture of lil jon in a 2 sided frame with a pic of lil daisy is almost as good as a pic of them together, right? When jon’s grandma dies, she takes him to the grave the day after the funeral bc she thinks he deserves a chance to mourn (jon does not take it this way) and they’re spotted and reported as a potential sighting of Missing Child Jonathan Sims, etc) But like. I don’t necessarily have a place to use these. And even if i did. There’s enough of them...

What I’m saying is what if once I get one of the teen jon daisy kidnapping variations written, i give it a side fic of “Buzzfeed Unsolved True Crime: The Mysterious Vanishing of Jonathan Sims”???
