🪄My thoughts on Cedric The Sorcerer🌙 (until now)

(not that anyone cares idk i just wanna talk about him, it's a lot of random thoughts and it's messy, but it's fun to read I guess)

Did you like that cute moodboard I did for him? It took me like 10 minutes I loved it. It fits him so well I'm so proud of myself for doing this. The whimsigothic aesthetic matches him so well I wish more people knew it so we would have tons of moodboards and cute stuff of him in this aesthetic it would be so nice. Ok let me start my post

I wanna share some headcanons, talk about my first impressions, it's not really organized I just wrote down whatever I remembered and the result was that. I wanna share my new hyperfocus with more people, that's what I'm doing here today :)

Everything started when I saw this man on Tumblr and though "who's this guy and why is princess Sophia next to him?", when I clicked on the hashtag out of curiosity I understood that it's because he's a character from the cartoon, and I was like "lol another tumblr sexyman again let's move on keep doing my things and interacting with my fandoms" (december 24)

I also mentioned it to my friend on IG bc I saw a reels that was like "you don't have any weird fictional crushes right?" and then proceeds to show us an edit of him with millions of hearts around. I sent it to her and said "omg I saw ppl talking about this on tumblr" and we just laughed a lot because it was something we did not expected (not mean laughs, they were genuine laughs of shock and because that was very unexpected like HOW IN THE WORLD, and she remembered him in the show while I didn't)

Some days later I saw more fanarts of him on tumblr and that made me a little curious, but not enough to search about the subject.

After some days I just couldn't forget him, and that's when I searched his name on youtube purposely trying to find compilations of his funny moments to understand what was happening

And boy I did

At this point was just having fun and laughing thinking "omg another guy who's sassy, has good personality and is another ugly-atractive character that has a fandom on tumblr, I got it, he's very nice" and I went to do other stuff again but this man just DIDN'T CAME OUT OF MY MIND

Just making an interruption here, I loved watching Disney Junior as a kid, maybe when I was six or seven, idk I don't remember, and I was a huge fan of Sofia The First, it was one of my favorite cartoons from Disney Jr alongside Doc McStuffins and Art Attack. AND I JUST DON'T REMEMBER CEDRIC IT'S LIKE I NEVER SAW HIM IN THAT SHOW, EVER. I literally don't remember him being part of the cast i'm sorry Cedric 😭 now he stands out so much to me, he's carrying the whole show on his back. Btw now that I mentioned Disney Junior I would like to say that here in Brazil Sofia First is actually called Little Princess Sofia, and Doc McStuffins is Doctor Toys. Sometimes I call Sofia "Princess Sofia" but I don't even know if that's how they call her in the english version, I watched everything on portuguese 😭 but ok let's move on (I have more things to say related to the brazillian dub, but let me finish my train of thought first)

As I was saying this man just didn't came out of my mind, and I was like "Oh no another hyperfocus where people around me will make fun of me because they will say that he's ugly and that liking kid's shows is something weird 😭 I can't take this anymore" and I tried to deny it but I CAN'T i'm almost making a pinterest board for him, I just accepted my fate (gonna draw fanarts soon and no one can stop me)

I found a list of every chapter he's in and i'm watching every. single. one. of. them. I watched the movie first, and boy this is gave me so much nostalgia because I remember some vague objects and scenes from when I was a kid, I used to love the Disney Princesses, when I got a little older I started watching Descendants, I grew up watching Tangled and Frozen and I swear to god I almost teared up from nostalgia during the episode Rapunzel shows up, and they didn't changed her voice actor, that's what got me. It was like travelling back to a time I didn't even remembered that existed anymore. Because since I haven't seen Sofia The First in about 10 years, I don't even remember anything FROM the show except for some parts, and that this show had so much old Disney energy that I didn't even know made a difference, but it does.

I'm sounding like a granny here but (i'm not even in my 20s yet) it feels like another time, Disney changed so much. Some of the new movies are good, some are bad, I see Disney much more as a company that wants money and makes movies instead of that perfect place where all dreams come true and every girl is a princess (Here in Brazil I never had a dream to go to Disneyland because Disney in the early 2010's invested more in products and blue ray DVDs in Brazil, since the parks were in the United States and we weren't really the target audience for that. So they didn't minded making publicity about it, so I just watched the movies and Disney Junior). Everything felt more magical when I was a kid, I spent my days watching DVDs and sometimes had some Disney princesses themed toys, it was so fun playing pretend that I was a princess and I really felt like one. Rewatching Sofia The First made me feel like this again because they made this show at the time that their public were HUGE fans of the Disney princesses and it has the same characteristics, plots, even styles of the songs and soundtracks, visuals + I watched it when I was younger. It's not just "princesses" it has the whole Disney girly early 2010's magic into it and it made me so bittersweet, even if they tried they could never do nowdays a movie inspired by that time and give me the same feeling as a REAL movie from that time does. Sofia The First: Once Upon a Time was like watching a new movie from that old Disney, one that I didn't saw before, but at the same time I did, and that's the best part. The end of the movie gave me so much nostalgia that I almost cried too. That experience was amazing :")

It gives me the same nostalgia that I feel when I hear that song "a dream is a wish your heart makesss" it makes me cry how I miss to be a little girl again (i'm crying right now btw i'm very intense with my emotions)

(And hell I don't remember Cedric at all, since when he was there the whole time? Now that I know that he's there I'm feeling like really reeeeaaaaalllyy vague memories are trying to come back in my head, but I don't know if my brain is doing this on purpose or i'm just confusing him with an equally vague memory of Cruella. I guess it's the first option, I'm trying so hard that my brain is making up memories. Weird.)

But yeah at first I saw everyone falling to his feet and even though I understood that he was very funny and had a well-writen personality I couldn't really get why people were romantically in love with him. Well um I actually got it, he was a good character and was one more of these strangely atractive characters that people fall in love with, I've been there too. But I just couldn't see what was so atractive that people were simping over him, for me at that moment he was just funny and fits very well the "let's make a fandom" type of character, like for example Preminger from Barbie Princess and The Pauper. But then I thought "idk what i'm talking about i'm demisexual lol let's wait a few days" (That happened before. Many times.)

And I'm like. I don't know what's happening to me I'm so susceptible to weird (in socially non-fandom people's words) crushes and I thought I wouldn't be afected this time. Just so you can have an idea some of my last crushes were: Dr Flug from Villanos, Jackson Jekyll from Monster High, Victor Frankenstein from Okegom, Raggedy Andy, Mettaton from Undertale (and UnderLust), THE Eddie Munson (for a whole year and some months, and I was so bullied after his "trend" ended because people said that his fans were cringe and everything (that's fake lol they are very nice)), 70% of my list are just nerds and sensitive guys with different types of mental illness yay my fav type

and now I think I'm feeling unironically atracted by this man it's just happening really slowly 😭 (DEMISEXUALS ‼️‼️⁉️⁉️💥💥💥💥💥👊👊👊👊)

I'm gonna be honest with you, at the moment I can't decide if I like him or not I'm so confused at the same time that I get it I also don't like how tf am I atracted by this man 😭 and then I'm like hmm he's acually cute let me search for some fanfiction

I'M SO CONFUSED I DON'T KNOW WHAT TO DO ANYMORE i guess I'll just wait to see what happens

you guys know that tiktok audio "at first I was like 'hmmm feet' as a joke,,,,, but bro....... I don't think that's a joke anymore...." (that's me rn but with Cedric)

Also I would like to take this oportunity that you're listening to me talking about Cedric to say the most important thing that this fandom needs to know:

And I'm here wondering what kind of songs he would listen to. I think he would like dark fantasy music, or witch music. I don't care if he's on medieval era and people didn't had access to a lot of music genres at that time, we are talking about disney nothing is historically correct

I can't help but think about Lana Del Rey but being a huge fan of her songs I don't think that it matches his tastes. I guess he maybe would like Aurora's last album, The Gods We Can Touch. I don't know why, it's the witchy vibes I guess. But I don't know, it's still not something that matches him a lot. EXCEPT FOR THE SONG MIDAS TOUCH FROM AURORA. IT'S PERFECT FOR HIM YOU GUYS SHOULD CHECK IT OUT

The cover isn't giving the aesthetic though, Aurora made this song for a show and then put the show album cover unfortunately. But her aesthetics are usually whimsical and magic, inspired by theatre, greek gods and tarot. This song is so good 😭

And of course there are songs like Everything Matters that fits his vibe but idk it depends on who's listening since it's not about the lyrics. The Innocent has a small part who matches him a little, the whole song has that witchy vibe dancing around the fire, I don't know how to describe it.

Coming back to Cedric I think my favorite scenario is him having an apprendice not too much younger than him. I think it's cute. I've never seen any fics like this (in fact I just read like 5 oneshots which is almost nothing) and if you guys know any let me know. I think it's just nice the idea of living with him and being his apprendice while having like a romantic tension between the two characters. It's cute

Also remember when I said I was going to talk a little more about the brazillian portuguese dub? So, something that I thought was really funny happened to me: In the first season he had his voice actor obviously and I was already used to his voice some time after watching the cartoon. It was very funny to me because the first time I saw a "scene compilation" of him it was in english, so hearing him talk in my language was fun. And btw his voice actor did a really good job voicing him, he (had a similar voice and) was really expressive just like his english VA, so like, really nice 👍

And then at some point in season two, from one episode to another, his voice actor suddently changed????? And obviously I got a little sad because his first VA was really good and I was used to his voice :( but the thing is: The new VA wasn't just a new one, IT'S THE SAME GUY WHO VOICED DR FLUG HERE IN BRAZIL AND I WAS LIKE OMG

THEY ARE SO SIMILAR IN PERSONALITY AND NOW THEY HAVE THE SAME VOICE WITH THE VOICE ACTOR'S MANNEIRISMS AND EVERYTHING (because that VA really has an specific way to talk, he stutter a little, sounds a little ironic but at the time really anxious, make some funny sounds for no reason sometimes like his screams)

I was really upset when they changed all the brazillian voice actors in Villanos, and that Flug didn't had his full-of-personality-and-expressive voice anymore :( the new episodes now have new voices and eveything, and they did their best, but it's not the original voices anymore and it doesn't hit the same yk? And then BAM CELDRIC HAS DOCTOR FLUGS VOICE NOW BITCH TAKE THIS

and the fact that Sofia The First was dubbed even before Villanos came out it's so funny to me

So yeah let me show you guys his amazing work at voicing two of my favorite characters:

After they changed Cedric's voice actor I was a little annoyed by the fact that I couldn't hear Cedric anymore, just Flug 😭 but now I'm slowly getting used to it and it's starting to sound like Cedric again.

Before that happened I could see some similarities between the two but I thought that I was just thinking too much and trying to connect two fandoms that I like, so I just forgot about it. After that happened my mind just blew it all make so much sense right now

And they are so similar in personality that I had to make a list of everything they have in common:

They work for guys that are completely blind to their talents and think that they're just idiots all the time

They have more potential than people think

Their projects/spells always go wrong because people keep disrupting their public moments, and so they are seen and weak and dumb (when they're not)

Science/Magic guys (they keep throwing liquids from one pot to another and saying difficult words, only for someone to stop them halfway and the substance explodes in their face, making them angry because this person once again interrupted their project that was going perfectly)

Self-confidence issues

Anxious mess, are always nervous and scared of something bad happening all the time

Childhood trauma because people never really saw their acomplishments and again and again kept repeating that they are idiots who don't know nothing (when they are geniuses!!)

They say that they're mean and they say that they do mean things when actually they are just really nice. They just choose that path because they think it's the only one that can bring them sucess and recognition in the future, but they were never made for this. They just do that because they want to proof their value to people who can't see it.

At the same time that they are mentally unstable, sometimes their confidence is so high that they start to act arrogant because "they're too smart and their projects are amazing": "I love what I do I'm the best sorcerer/scientist in the world"

But when they need to show that to people something bad always happens (because of other people!) And their plan fails, leaving them with confidence issues

"I'm too smart you guys don't deserve me"

"I can't do anything right omg i'm so stupid"

Their movements and maneirisms are so expressive, they're both skinny and tall and keep making those anxious poses, fidgeting with their hands, always anxious, scared of something, thinking too much and overall being nervous and ankward around their bosses

Boss just treats them as failures and gives them orders, in which they respond in the most submissive and saddest way because they're just miserable and just two little guys who are trying to proof their value in a place where no one even see them as people

But sometimes they are genuinely egoistic and egocentric because duh they're the best sorcerer/scientist out there, hello everybody is gonna know their name when they rule the world bye

They act so stupid and lovesick in their official crushes episodes, it's so funny

And even if we never saw Dr Flug's official face there is a design out there in the fandom where he has black hair with white streaks on his bangs so like 👍👍

Well um I guess that's all I have to say about this subject for now

i have so many questions. does raph's arm have a mark on it from the break or was it clean? did leo intend to break his arm or was he trying to hurt him in another way? has leo ever hurt one of his other siblings besides raph? is donnie immunocompromised? who is the SECOND favorite child

based on my experience of having broken my arm im gonna say no, no mark. the bones would have to extrude from the skin to leave a scar (i think?)

Leo did intend to break his arm. if he just hurt Raph, they could still have run away, he needed to completely stop them from leaving by stopping Raph from leaving.

Leo has hurt his other siblings (in similar fits of rage/desperation) but never as severely. all of the turtles have probably hurt each other at least a few times, but NEVER the way Leo did. so they're pretty wary of him.

im not quite sure what donnie's deal is yet, but i was thinking something like that yea. thing is that I'm not an expert about this kinda stuff, and I know there are a ton of reasons someone can be immunocompromised. including if you take medicine for some other condition. Soooo, I'll need to think about it more, but for now you can just think of him as generally more susceptible to illness.

there isn't really a second favorite child. To Splinter, his kids are categorized as Leonardo, Annoying one (mikey) and Red/angry one. He doesn't find Donnie as annoying as Mikey, but he also forgets he's there a lot of the time so they're about the same in ranking.

i guess that means Raph would be the Second Favorite, in that if Splinter had to be around any of them other than Leo, he'd chose Raph. Not much of a consolation prize, though.

hmm or maybe Donnie would be the second favorite. Because even though Splinter forgets he's there half the time, Donnie is the most likely to listen to him and not talk back (because Donnie is scared of him)

Heres an issue I've been thinking on that I don't see anyone talking about in them critical space. I wrote a long ass ask to another blog about how Vivziepop sucks at portraying ethnic groups but its was and since your on the topic of Vivziepop FUCKING up basic religions I want to send something more organized and specific. I have an issue as an ethnically Jewish person with Rosie.

I will preface this by stating I am disconnected with my culture but I am trying to reconnect and I am not practicing. I actually would welcome people more connected than me or practitioners to add to this or correct me.

So we know Rosie is supposed to resemble a Jewish mother... I feel gross with that phrasing because there's a lot. Like again I'm disconnected but why did Vivziepop have to specify Jewish Mother? Like this almost feels like a stereotype and the best faith things I could guess is Vivziepop just thinks jews are a religious group or is just ignorant in general. The thing about our religion is that it's mostly closed... Like typically as far as I'm aware you can only practice if you are ethnically Jewish. So she wrote this in an official document highlighting a character specifically being jewish in a way that feels gross.

Another thing is you literally can't have a setting set in hell with Jewish characters because Hell doesn't exist in the Torah (the holy book) like all that stuff that Jesus said contradicts what was already written which is why Jews don't worship or see Jesus as the Messiah. I'm unsure if he is viewed as a prophet or not. I know in Islam he is seen that way.

I forget the name of the afterlife but basically when bad people die they only suffer for a year and everyone goes to the same place.

Also Rosie possibly being Jewish makes no logical sense because to be Jewish your mom has to be and her mother before her. It's a matriarchal aspect though there are a few places that accept patriarchal descent that is a recent thing. Rosie is Hellborn last I checked and sinners can't reproduce with Hellborns so.... How the fuck is she Jewish?

Then her being a cannibal is very off-putting because a lot of people who barely know anything about Judaism know that Jews usually have a specific diet practice. Now not everyone knows the name of it but it's called Kosher. And yes not everyone practices it is still widely known we aren't supposed to like eat stuff that comes from pigs. It's a bit fucked that the only Jewish character is a cannibal... That probably is connected to some anti semitic stereotype somewhere that I'm unaware of since there's a fuck ton.

Also Vivziepop wants an ethinically accurate cast but instead of specifically asking for a jewish actress she mentioned someone who sounds like a jewish mother... What does that even mean?

Like unlike the goblins from the series that must not be named, this reeks of ignorance instead of malice. Especially, since we know Vivziepop absolutely refuses to do research for her shows that require literally more than a 10 minute google search.

Like you can't fully separate an ethnically Jewish character from the religion itself unlike uh a character from Spain can be separated from Christianity. Like our blood and religion are deeply tied together especially as we are being prosecuted throughout history and still managing to survive it all because of it.

Like if you absolutely want a jewish character in Hazbin your gonna need a sensitivity reader and have to make them a sinner.

The character I see get talk about most about antisemitism in Hazbin Hotel is Mimzy and Rosie is just an "Ah-Ha!" moment for critics because her leak bio directly confirmed it. While there can a discussion if Mimzy can technically count as an Jewish stereotype because we don't know if she's Jewish or not, I found Rosie to be more egregious because Viv used the line, "Rosie has a strong presence and confident energy as a Jewish mother." First what is that even supposed to mean? And second by this description Viv see Rosie as a Jewish character and will code her as such.

I think the critics forget Rosie will be a recurring side character in the show which is why we haven't seen many discussions yet about what it means for Rosie's character to be Jewish coded.

I will said Viv's ignorance is getting to a point of malice to me since she very aware of the criticism she gets for characters like Velvette and Alastor and her not doing research and purposely spreading misinformation because of it is icky. Like this woman has to know eventually she can't just keep making up information of POC groups and religions out of nowhere and has to hire someone from those groups to help her. If Viv really did care about researching about these group for good rep she would have consulted with them first. If Viv hired a Jewish person to help her write Rosie, she would have learned about the problems you addressed with Rosie being a Hellborn who is jewish and the weird implications she added like making the only Jewish character into a cannibal. Viv has claimed Hell is supposed to take inspiration from different religions and cultures but that's just not true because Viv's hell is clearly christian inspired with a hint of demonology elements.

I'm unsure how she would even make the idea work in the first place if Christianity's hell is supposed to be the main setting in Hazbin Hotel and Helluva because different religions have different rules and interpretations of Hell, Heaven, and the characters, heck some religions don't even have Heaven and Hell like what we discuss here.

I'm gonna make some assumptions, and if I'm wrong, you're gonna have to send me another ask to clarify. First, I'm guessing that lmpg is a typo and is meant to be long. Second, I'm assuming you're looking for reader inserts and not ship fics. Third, I'm going to assume that you are okay with poly fics, because I hate to choose just one member of TFW, and poly fics are all the bee's erogenous zones, not just the bee's knees. Finally, I'm pretty sure you want canon-compliant fics, not AUs. If any of these assumptions are wrong, send me another ask and I'll change my answers!

Looking for canon-compliant (or at least, world-compliant) epic tales with awesome reader-insert characters who fall in bed (and sometimes in love) with various members of Team Free Will, sometimes all of them. I'll start with my own masterlist because it's what I'm most familiar with. 🤣

Cracker Jack Prize - 87k words - My first ever piece of fiction, and it shows. Not a reader insert, but it reads like one (2nd person POV). Myka gets with everyone in this one! It's very Mary Sue, and it's formatted poorly on AO3, but it has my favorite Cas smut scene I ever wrote.

Oasis - 46k words - My answer to the question, "After Cas freaks out the hooker at the den of iniquity, how would YOU get him to relax and seduce him?" No Sam lovin' in this one, but some super hot Dean, and a threesome scene! (A little dubcon in one scene.)

A Woman of Letters (Getting a Feel For Sam Winchester) - 70k words - After Oasis, I needed some Sam lovin'. And some angst, apparently.

Third Wheel - 64k words - This comes closest to a series rewrite, as it closely follows season 6. I challenged myself to write a fuck ton of fucking. Soulless Sam helped. And then Dean got involved.

Those are all of my epic TFW fics. If you also like John, I've got two more epic tales involving him. Except for one AU fic (Priest!Cas with some Sam on the side - another long fic)), everything else in my masterlist is also canon-compliant, just shorter. 🤣

I tried to search my blog for fics, but discovered that I don't have a tag for series, sadly. So, I went through my AO3 bookmarks. Here are a couple fics from other folks:

Collared by @spnexploration - 40 chapters, so it's a long one - Dean x reader - A witch turned you into a mindless slave. Dean and Sam save you.

Tattered by @stusbunker - 11 chapters - Dean x reader, Sam x reader, A/B/O - So much angst!!! Adding the A/B/O world to canon stuff just makes it all so angsty!! And smutty!

I just went looking for Not Unless Sam Says by @spectaculacularsammy and discovered that both the writer and the fic are completely gone and I'm crushed. I'm off to go cry about how the world is a much worse place because of this loss. 😭😭😭

If I think of any others, I'll come back and add them, In the meantime, maybe someone else can add some? I know I'm forgetting some that are here on Tumblr because my brain is Swiss cheese.

*perks up* found this trend a while ago and I loved seeing mlp infection aus...idk why but I think mlp horrors are the best horrors! So the sickness which I took for this au is Rabies! Which I think a lot if you might know what it is. Ofcourse, this is a more messed up type of rabbies. There's only 3 stages since the person transforms quickly(in a 1 day). 1st stage: after the pony gets bit by a subject with rabbies they start feeling weak, tired and nauseous. AN: Writing them has been a fun challenge for me. I'm really glad they're together again. I also completed this an hour before that promo

AN2: The only reason I’m using their real names is because they’re just as bad as using them as the best friends. I’m looking at y’all Dustin and Greg.

The last time he saw Jay give him that look, it was right after he saw a movie (some popular movie in the '80s-'90s) with his family before him. Sunday being Wrestledream, and everyone's been keeping Adam's debut under wraps so tight, he only could let a few select people know. He heard Jay sucked his teeth in, "I guess that's a good reason." "I could have told Jericho." That received a gasp. "Could have found out that way instead." Adam was laughing because he already predicted the response. "Through his loud ass megaphone of a mouth instead of my best friend?” The right response, which had him laughing even harder. “I would have been fucking pissed."

Adam had to gather himself a bit to ask his friend not to tell Chris he said that or else he’d never hear the end of it. (‘Jay, please! He’ll have my ass for weeks!’) He heard that he’ll think about it.

Adam held him to that, then the conversation went into bouncing out ideas for the match on Sunday before he heard Darby yelling that he had found the perfect set of trees to film at. They said goodbye, with Jay making him give his own promise.

He couldn’t make it until Sunday night, after the debut and press conference, when he had talked to almost everyone in the locker room and said goodnight to the girls on the phone. He was finally letting everything settle in when he heard a knock on his hotel door. He got up, already knowing who was at the door without having to look in the peephole.

It’s the same best friend who looked around like he was expecting anyone else to be there when he knew damn well there wasn’t anyone else at almost midnight, but he did it just to annoy him. “You turning in early, old man?” Jay leaned back into the wall behind him.

Adam narrows his slightly tired eyes. “You remember that a month from now.”

“Just because I’m a month younger doesn’t mean I’m gonna feel the same way.” Jay enters the room as he makes his point.

“Mmm.” Adam makes a mental note as he locks the door behind him.

“You signed everything?”

Remembering the tons of paperwork he had to actually sign gave out a weary laugh “A lot more than I remember doing in my 20s.”

“You just didn’t wanna sign shit.” Jay pointed at him. “It wasn’t that much…I think.”

“Ahhh, you’re forgetting stuff now, old man.” Adam teases. “It’s only a matter a time…”

He deserved Jay flicking him off, but it was worth it.

But she keeps saying I have so much potential, and that I can do it if I just try," her voice cracks. Frye hands her a tissue. She accepts it gratefully.

"She says I can do it if I just try, but I'm tired of trying. I'm tired of the expectations. I'm tired of always feeling like I'm just waiting to disappoint someone. I just want to be average for once. We argue a lot about this, and that makes me feel worse."

"I don't think you necessarily have to be the best. It's okay to just be you," Frye smiles encouragingly and pats her arm.

Shiver sniffs. "Thanks."

"It's also okay to not want to take harder classes. I mean, no one wants to, so I totally get you," she adds with a giggle. "Tons of people don't take em, and they turn out fine."

"But I'm not just anybody, Frye. I'm-- I'm perfect--"

"Nuh uh! None of that!" She grabs Shiver by the shoulders. "You'll be fine. You don't wanna take hard classes? That's fine! You don't wanna write essays? That's fine too! I don't either! So please don't be too hard on yourself. You're only looking out for your health, I promise you're not disappointing anyone. We'll figure it out, okay?"

Shiver nods.

"Speaking of which, we're gonna be the freshest new band in the Splatlands, so who cares what your mom says!? You don't need essays to be cool!" Frye pumps her fists in the air. Shiver smiles slightly.

- Diversity! Since it's been around for so long, there's tons of fics to read. If you can think of it, someone has probably written it. There's a Mewtwo fic I found in college that's basically a retelling of the events of the first movie, but holy shit it's written so beautifully it made me cry in front of my friends rjrhdgde. It's a dense read, but still one of my absolute favorite fics to this day. That's just an example of things you can find!

- Sub-fan bases. Basically, if you're a big fan of a certain Pokémon, a type of Pokémon, one of the games, etc., you're going to find your people very easily. Kind of falls under the first one a bit but ya know lol.

- Some of the cutest and also the most badass fanart comes out of this fandom. I have both art of a Sylveon with a lollipop and art of Mewtwo breaking out of their armor from the first movie. The duality of man djrhdgs

SoulsBorne

-Maybe I've gotten lucky and just found really nice people, but so far my experiences in the community have been largely positive! I've met some of the loveliest people by posting my Dark Souls and Bloodborne fics, and it really got me back into writing OCs again (you know that's my lifeblood lol)

-Character and lore analyses. Not that I agree with all of them, of course I don't, but if you want an analyses of anything in these games, there's some mad lad out there that's done it, whether it's a post or through an entire fic. Gives you tons to think about!

-ART!! Holy shit there's so many amazing artists in this community. We don't talk about how much SoulsBorne art I've snagged at conventions (I got more of it and Elden Ring stuff at Magfest don't look at me fjfhdhd)

-I haven't been in this fandom for long, but so far everyone I've met has been very sweet! They're also super OC-friendly. I can't tell you how many Stalker and Puppet OCs I've seen, among others, it's really amazing!

-Probably gonna say this for all of my fandoms but the ART OMG. There's so much gorgeous fanart floating around for this game it's insane. Still on the hunt for more Romeo pieces tho rjrhehe

-Headcanon diversity. Do you want a totally mute P? One that talks sometimes? One that's Had Enough? What I'm getting at is there's a P out there for everyone! People have been exploring all the different character angles on him and it's wonderful to see.

Ultrakill

-THE HYPE. Since this is an early access game still in development, the hype that cranks up every time an update is announced is INSANE. I don't think I've ever seen this level of it for an indie game. I got in just in time to witness this for the Violence update and the rush it gives you seeing everyone so excited is amazing!! It helps that every single update has just been an absolute banger. We have reason to be super excited, the devs do stellar work!!

-LORE. Do you wanna feel like Charlie at the corkboard in It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia? Because that's where I'm definitely at right now. Since we're in the last act of the game, there's so much speculation and so many theories about how the game will end. On top of that, people have been playing in the lore sandbox ever since this game started. I know I've def been up at night wondering how the hierarchy of Heaven works and what certain layers of Hell were like before Certain Events TM (I'm being vague because I know at least one person wants to play this bear with me lol). Basically there's tons to explore and the community collectively goes insane about different bits, we have fun here lmao

-I'm bundling art and memes into this one because oh my GOD. The tonal whiplash is a rollercoaster ride. You can go from the most heart-wrenching art of Gabriel you've ever seen to a piece that goes "V1 is a shrimp now" and sometimes you just need that snap back to some levity. The memes are absolutely top-tier. It helps that the voice actor for Gabriel already does memes and shitposts on his YouTube channel, so he just carries that over for Ultrakill stuff sometimes and y'know what? This game is dark, I'm gonna need these memes for when the ending makes me bawl like a baby. The Violence layer already has me feeling the creeping sense of dread (if you know you KNOW).

i'm 22 and history student. i want to be an academic because knowledge is pretty much everything to me. if a djinn grant me 3 wishes, one of them would be to know everything about universe, humankind and other things. i like learning new things and i like to share them with others whether its something scientific, about history, philosophy or just random fact about pop culture it doesn't matter. sometimes i just starting to tell someone a random fact i learned out of the blue so there's that i think. i also think my love language is quality time. i'll remember whats your favorite book, movie, song, sweater, drink etc it doesn't matter i'll etch everything about you into my brain forever. its my curse, sometimes i think that way.

i like buying new books even if i have billions of them i haven't read it yet at my home it doesn't matter. i like to go museums. my idea of relaxing and holiday is going to new historical places, museums, exhibitions, watching something or reading something, explore new music etc so you get the idea.

i like to watch art movies, documentaries, keeping an eye on film festivals. my favorites are those 3 hours long old movies you can hardly find subtitles for but when you do... it gives you everything you need and more.

when i said i like learning new things i mean it as a learning different subjects or matters. it doesn't matter tbh if that thing got me interested in then you probably gonna find me searching it online at 3 am.

i'm a bit cold to others i'm not gonna lie. definetely judge someone and if i dont find them okay-ish then warming up to them and liking them is gonna be hard. i tend to isolate myself and zone out frequently when i'm overwhelmed so even if you continue to talk there's a big chance i'm not gonna hear you but i have pretty good focus so thats the plus for me.

i'm definetely quick to anger and hold grudges really well won't forget something you said to me 10 years ago. but i'm also a ride or die and would bring shovel to your house unquestioned so i guess that's even it out?

but there's a weird and kind of intimidating side of me? at least that what my friends been saying. my classmates and friends often saying to me how they were/are intimidated to talk to me because they didn't want to seem stupid or didnt gage out what would i say or react. weird side of me i think its that sometimes i tend to get awkward not gonna lie...

also i tend to get... disappear for extended period of time out of the blue. i'm just vibing at home or outside by myself. i'm happy with it but others don't.

— i’ve never pictured lance as the academic type per se, but i always get the sense he’s a bit of a dark horse when it comes to his talents outside of f1… i feel like he’d be super interested in all of the stuff you are, especially philosophy. once you guys start dating, i can picture him getting really into philosophy and history and reading to the point where he’s basically just feeding your own need for more knowledge (match made in heaven frrr)

— obviously the guy is loaded so he has no problem buying you whatever books you want. instead of being the kind of boyfriend that goes out and buys his girlfriend jewellery to show affection (bc his love language is DEFINITELY gift giving) he’ll buy you a ton of books instead 😭 i feel like you’ll get so used to it that every time you go out you leave a reading list on the table for him to look at, and when you get back he’ll have bought you EVERY SINGLE BOOK. even the really obscure ones, and you’re like how did he manage to find this at such short notice? 😭

— loads of your dates consist of either movie nights or trips to museums and exhibitions. you might do some more mindless lowkey stuff in-between, but lance will pretty much do whatever it is you want to do 😭 he’ll definitely surprise you with random trips to loads of interesting historical places. even if you only mention a particular place one time in passing, the next thing you know he’ll get you on his private jet and take you there for the weekend 🥹 it just shows he’s a really good listener too !! a bit like you, he just wants to commit everything about you to his memory 🤍

— i never thought i’d say this because i picture lance as being quite isolated a lot of the time, but he encourages you to get out more and stops you from retreating within yourself. he knows that you have no problem being alone with your thoughts, but he also wants you to get out and experience things with new people 🥹

— BUT on the other hand, you guys are definitely the judgy inside joke couple 😭 i mean in the sense that you tell each other everything. if you’re holding a grudge against someone for a particular reason, he knows exactly why and holds a grudge too 😭 basically you always tell each other your drama to the point where you’re essentially just sharing enemies. this unfortunate person will never know why but every time they come near you both you’ll automatically just fall silent and stare them down 😭 half the grid is scared of you both for this but it’s fine you’re iconic

gotta say, I sometimes wonder if I should delete my tumblr and disappear, in a way that I'd still be on tumblr, just without anyone knowing it's good ole Chut. Still be writing and such, but... quietly. It's the weight of knowing there are a ton of people waiting for the next chapter of my fics, and I can't shake the... pressure I get from all of that. God, I love everyone's comments and kudos as much as any writer, and writing stories that so many seem to love, but there's just so much pressure in it as well. If I post a new fic, people will go "oh Chut posted something new, it's gonna be goooood" and with that presumption I can't write anything but good. Over and over again I seem to manage to create something people praise, without really seeing the greatness myself. I guess it's part impostor syndrome - I'm still waiting for when people realise I really am not that good a writer, even though I'm gradually learning to ignore the perfectionist in me.

All in all, sometimes I think it would be easier to shake off the follower count, and just blog for myself. I've learnt the hard way to not share much of my opinions here, since it'll get noticed. I love receiving asks, but i often forget answering them straight away and then there are 300 of them and then I feel bad for not answering them - and if Chut didn't have a tumblr (that people know about), I couldn't disappoint anyone in that way. Does that make any sense?

Chut-je-dors is a name that's known by most who read mclennon fics (?) and it's just, it's a lot. I also sometimes wonder what would happen if I wrote under a different pseudonym. The fic wouldn't probably get that many hits, since I'm pretty sure half of the hits in my fics are because I'm a "popular" writer. It would be liberating I think - no pressure of delivering anything that fits the "Chut-je-dors" box. I miss the days of writing the Hot Mechanic, with no rules, no pressure over the quality of writing or storytelling - just plain wackiness with no predecessor. Now, when I'm writing The Hot Spot, it has to live up to the other entries in the Hot Series. There's a lack of freedom in it - the text has to be funny, whereas before it was funny because I was completely unhinged, and had an absolute blast, and had absolutely no plans. No one knew me, and didn't base their opinions of THM on how I've "once again" delivered "such an amazing fic" etc. People like THM because of the fic itself.

The more popular and "good" fics I write, the more the pressure to deliver what people expect from my fics grows.

(And don't get me wrong, I want to write good and deliver good stuff, for my own sake as well. I love writing, and I love writing stuff I can read a year after and go "ahh this is good stuff". But the pressure of writing well for other people's sake overshadows the desire to write just for myself.)

(A part of all this is the language gap, cos my god, I write good in English but I write so much better in Finnish, and I'm always aware of what my text is lacking in English. Maybe I should write the fics in Finnish and translate them to English afterwards but lads, imagine the Work)

(After I lost my home in a house fire in 2020, and suffered a burnout and depression etc. all that stuff, the quality of my writing understandably dipped, and someone immediately noticed it and commented on it. Well, I've struggled with writing ever since. Always second-guessing whether what I'm writing is good, because I don't want to - or can - let my readers down. And now, I rarely write anymore, partly due to not having enough time, partly because I never feel like I'm doing good enough. I can take criticism, it's not about that - it's a comment that hit me hard at a point where I was just trying to produce text, any text, despite how hard it was, struggling with the trauma left by me losing all of my belongings, and knowing the writing wasn't probably good enough, but deciding to post still just to give people something, and then that comment - it hit right in the spot of insecurity that then manifested fully, and now whatever I write I feel it doesn't live up to, say 2019 writings. And thus I can't write at all, crippled by that insecurity.)

So yeah. Sounds probably silly, me whining away that "I'm too popular as a writer" but... well. Well. It's been 10 years since THM came out. Ten fucken years! It was the second fic I wrote under Chut-je-dors (the first being ThighGHGHGS, an absolute Legend of a fic written by an unhinged 15 year old) and I'm still partly trying to live up to it. THM cemented me as a popular mclennon author in this fandom, and I've had to live up to that mantel ever since with everything I write. Ten years!

(There's no point in any of this, no set resolution, I'm just rambling some thoughts away into the tumblr void)

(Don't get me wrong: I love each and every comment I receive and I'm so thankful people like my fics. These are issues that live inside my head, and they don't affect the gratitude I have that people still, after all these years, love my fics. That's all an author could ask for. Perhaps that is the core of the issue; I love making you guys happy with my fics, so much that I can't bear the thought of giving you something below my usual level of writing. Hm, a double-edged sword)

Anyway. That's some thoughts for now!

Idk. but lmao its a silly little not Canon side fic idea I'll eventually write up where I basically go "but it was all a dream~!" except I don't I say actually what if this was a movie and they were all actors because lmao the idea of it being like a movie set and them sitting together in their actors chairs answering questions in silly little interviews idk sparks joy eases the Horrors of the actuality.

Mainly again this stems from my weird fascination with ??? and Mays interactions and relationship because lmao when torturing a girl for years like "what are we" because what is going on does he hate her does he become familiar to her view her with familiarity and as an acquitence does he see her as a potential ally even only temporary to use in whatever plan he has, a potential rival maybe? Is he trying to make a challenge for himself someone who could beat him someone for him to beat or is she just nothing to him but a pawn a stepping stone a toy. Who knows because he's never gonna fucking tell us is he.

So it's fun imagining them in this neutral environment without as much Canon baggage, I have the silly thoughts of them answering questions and he's like "oh yes working on set was amazing, well save for the physical abuse." and May just groaning into the abyss burying her forehead and face into his shoulder and lightly whacking his chest going "nuuh I said I was sorrryyyyy" and he just laughs because lmao he said it on purpose for that reaction and is like "okay I guess I should clarify, I told her for a scene to punch me as hard as she could to make it look realistic. And she did. And it fucking hurt" and starts laughing and she's just dying at the reminder like I'm sorryyyy you said I didn't meant tooooo. Just him bullying her a bit poking fun but like nah I said hit me and you did, I thought you'd hit like a kitten or something. And just lmao general actors on set vibes kinda dorks doing interview things talking about scenes backstage stuff bloopers ect, it's fun for me XD but it's incredibly Canon divergent but sparks joy

misc thoughts on horizon forbidden west a trillion years later

huge mixed bag of a game for me. some parts were very interesting, and sometimes i was having a ton of fun, and then other times it felt like an absolute chore to bother continuing. i played the first, i don't know, 3rd of the game on normal mode and was enjoying the level of challenge and then eventually hit a point where i was impatient, switched over to story to push through, and was never able to leave story because i'd start dying immediately

part of this is probably because the of the update gear mechanic which. god. i can't be assed. it is too much work honestly lmao, convoluted, etc. overall it felt like the game added a lot of stuff for the sake of Adding Stuff... and in the process it also nerfed a bunch of my fave weapons from HZD. tripwires and traps are useless now. why would i want something that is way more likely to hurt *me* in battle. why did aloy forget how to whistle. i could barely keep track of valor surge let alone remember stamina and whatever else lol

the story too kept having ups and downs.

-varl/zo was such nonsense LMAO i'm sorry wtf... if varl was going to die why not let him and aloy have their little UST thing up until that point? why introduce a brand new character and be like "after trailing aloy for six months he met zo for two minutes and is in love. Also zo is pregnant :)" come on

-erend don't touch me. get off me. ugh. ew

-the far zenith stuff was so strange... i was interested in the lore but every time one of them turned up it just seemed like a different game was happening, lol. like i know the Point of their design was to look so different from everyone else but it just felt odd to me. when they showed up the first time I was like ????? lmao. In general the Zeniths felt ... like... we spent all this time learning to take out their shields and then we fought 1 of them.

-at first i also thought it was stupid they were literally the same people, immortalized. but it DID give me the opportunity to have tilda, who was easily a high point in the game, so whatever i guess

-tilda! you're crazy. i love you. lmfao. I feel like they underutilized her. I can roll w the obsessive love stuff but wish we'd gotten a bit more... I also felt like the way they set up her betrayal was everyone telling me "She's gonna betray us", to the point that I was expecting her to not do so because that would be more surprising, lmao. Sylens got the actual interesting character turn in that regard

-it felt hard to take any satisfaction in the end of the game's "successes" when the last 20 minutes suddenly introduced Threequel Villain and spent time hyping them up as the next existential threat. if I was supposed to enjoy my victory I didn't really bc I was like "okay and now the next thing..." they wanted some sense of triumph and Community and I didn't really feel that. although I guess I did feel we veered back into climate allegory so... fine... I suppose

-the ending stuff being about Community but not involving any NPCs from HZD except erend was off to me. :/ miss u varl. why isn't talanah here. or petra. or... etc

Having again one one those art doubt nights. Or actually it's about fanfiction this time. It's pretty common for me to have these nights once in a while where I just have an exitential crisis over my fanfics.

Right now it's just that basic: why the fuck do I even keep writing? Like, I don't get it why do I write. Nor why do I keep coming up with stuff to write so often. It's just... not that much fun. Overused "tropes" and generally speaking, there is nothing wrong in that, BUT personally I am just so fed up with my tropes. They are boring, they are cliché, they just don't feel like anything anymore.

And again: why do I keep writing? Angst I understand. It's like self-therapy. Fluff I don't understand anymore. It's the one that has gotten boring to me. There's nothing to see. I would be writing to others if I didn't hate the fact I'm behind that text. I would be writing to others also if people read my texts. But there is something wrong with me, something that is actually not wrong with me, but something that causes people to avoid my fanfics because we're not on the same wavelength.

I probably won't do it, but I'm again considering giving up on writing fanfiction altogether. There's just no point in that. I wish I could write something else than fanfiction, but I can only write angst or fluff, and I'm romance-repulsed unless it's about my OTP, and nothing else interests me enough that I could write about it. I've been trying to come up with ideas but everything is already used and I'm afraid I'd be accused of plagiarism over something I have never even heard of before, just because how difficult it is to come up with something original and actually unique anymore.

Well, I won't get answers to my questions today for sure so I guess I might as well go to sleep. Just gonna say that writing to yourself is fun until you start to bore yourself with your own texts. And writing to others is fun if people just would read. So, yeah, I don't know. Maybe I will have another "I grew out of fanfiction" phase, maybe I'll come back to it again, maybe I'll never touch fanfics again. Who knows. All I know is that I don't enjoy the writing process as much as I enjoy the process of creating other types of arts, such as drawing or videos. With these I don't really even care anymore whether people look at/watch them or not. Those are for me and the whole process from start to finish is fun. Fanfics are just. A way to help myself to fall asleep because I need to be thinking about something and I have nothing else to think about than my OTPs. But maybe I'll need to keep those as before-falling-asleep scenarios and forget about the writing them down part.

I don't know. I also don't like the idea of letting go of my fanfics. It's not good for my mental health. But right now I just don't see any point in collecting tons of short scenarios about my OTP into my files if those texts are never gonna see a daylight anyway.

My brother and I both have our birthdays in March, so our uncle has bought gifts for both of us simultaneously. He has decided to pick a Steam game that has been peaking his interest due to how much he's been hearing a lot about it from someone else recently (and from a rather popular CA video too, I guess).

I suppose it's not very hard to guess what game I'm referring to here. He's even going to wait for me to get home before he'll try it, which is just so incredibly sweet. I hope he'll end up liking it, but considering how he's played a bunch of very unique games that are difficult, have pixelart, or require a boatload of patience, Rain World should be right up his alley.

This is the first time I've managed to get anyone outside of my 4 and 6 year old cousins interested in the game, and I'm frankly quite pumped about it. Though I pray he isn't gonna come over to the Tumblr fandom of the game, cus yeah, he's an amazing guy and I love him, and the same goes for this community, but sometimes, it's simply for the best to keep some things nicely separated, even if you hold both of them rather dear to yourself. As sweet as Tumblr is, it does have a bit of a scary side to it, and it already gives me enough anxiety about the stuff I'm putting out, so I really don't need the stress of having to worry about someone else too.

On another note, I'll have to travel right when the anniversary stream is happening, so I won't get to see the art and announcements live, together with everyone else :(

Thankfully, Akupara does archive its streams, and I doubt any of my stuff would show up anyway, since they only get to showcase, like, 1% (or maybe even less) of the art month drawings, and as much as I'm improving, I'm definitely not even close to the top 1% yet.

Also, again, apologies for the bits of silence, I'm often forgetting to post stuff, cus there's just too much stuff happening, and it's difficult to keep track of it all. I guess I should look through my stuff to see if I forgot anything good, but outside of that, I'll probably just put up everything in a Google Drive as proof that I actually did the darn challenge (even if I attempted some things that were a bit much for me to handle in such a short timeframe, but you know, we live and learn).

Oh, and what did I choose for my birthday gift? Why, the La Ilusion Renata Glasc skin from League, of course! I spammed the heck out of the Chem-Baroness when the Arena was around, and it sounded nice to have a new look for my girl for the next time when the mode rolls around :D

Fright Night is a cool choice too, but I prefer the 'evil mistress of nature' vibes, plus I wanna keep the mask!

That's it for my ramblings! I'm honestly very excited, but also tired as all hell, and I'm definitely taking a bit of a break from drawing once March is over. I might get back to it fairly soon, but that depends on a ton of factors I can't really predict. We'll just have to see what the creative part of my brain will desire during my somewhat sparse free alone time!
