Dude. I can’t not explain the pain and feelings I feel after reading this book. The way she goes and finds these things after him and his letters and all that bullshit then she visits the blue hole? This entire book was spent on her getting through her issues and Finch showing us how he saw the world and all their wandering and time together sucks to look back on knowing what they had. Devastating ass book. Time to watch the movie and get upset when it dosent have parts in it that should’ve been in it.

The most amazing thing about the Goldfinch by Donna Tartt is that I’ve read it over a year and a half ago and I still get flashbacks from the story at the random times that make me go through the internal depression for a brief moment.

I’ll be sitting by the table eating and it’s suddenly hitting me how horrible it must have been for Theo to have to leave the apartment filled with his mother’s belongings, the adorable collection of things that represented her as a person, that he was always surrounded by, to live on a lifeless desert only then to return back to the antique shop to be surrounded by another adorably peculiar collection that represented the personality of some other person. And all of that happens because of something that took place in an art museum. A place filled with pieces that mirrored the artists’ personalities.

It hits me how long Theo’s journey was and how circular it looks. He’s always coming back to the same place, always settling in a pile of things.

I feel like his story lives with me.

some sketches to introduce two newer ocs of mine: micah (he/him) and theo (she/her) 🌻🌧

they’re part of seph and jonathan’s story (i haven't posted any of them here on tumblr yet but they're on my instagram page!). theo is jonathan’s childhood best friend and micah is seph’s roommate. these two have an…interesting dynamic. micah is the jokey, sunshiney, eternally optimistic type which infuriates theo, who’s kinda scrappy and angry at the world. this results in them tolerating each other for the sake of the group, but also constantly taking digs at each other 😵‍💫
