Este fin de semana asistí a las Jornadas de la Nueva Escuela Lacaniana de Lima (NEL-Lima). El título de las jornadas: La locura de ser... madre. Aportes desde el psicoanálisis. Sí. Sumamente atrayente para mí y mis aspiraciones neuróticas de madre. Como buena chancona 🤓 me senté en primera fila, y si bien hubo momentos en que la jerga psicoanalítica y más aún La Lacaniana me sobrepasaba, disfrute mucho. Trataron muchos temas interesantes sobre el ser madre, pero me quedo (y les comparto) lo que más resuena en mí: “La locura de ser madre es el hacerse de hijos. Hijos que dejan de ser nuestros desde el momento que los parimos. Es el deseo que la vida continúe después de una mismo. Es hacer permanecer la vida más allá de sí misma. La madre tiene que hacer vivir al hijo sin un código, índice o manual. La madre tiene que hacerlo vivir, sin entenderlo. Es la locura del NO tener un asidero, la locura de un avanzar a tientas y sin señales. Y así, encuentre un libro o manual de cómo criar hijos, siempre será de autoría de otra”. Y otra cosa que me encantó 😍 es que desde el psicoanálisis (tal y como postulamos en nuestro libro Ser Madre y Sus Dilemas) la maternidad va más allá del acto biológico de parir. Ideas fuertes que vale la pena explorar y analizar. Hello everyone, hope you’re all well and your week has got off to a good start. Today it’s book haul time! I bought one of these books on a whim, the other I was waiting for release in paperback and the third was a choice of the amazing @bernardineevaristo for Sky Arts Book Club. Palace Of The Peacock is a special re-release of a classic by Faber and looks fantastic. First published in 1960 and called a masterpiece by Monique Roffey, it looks at a crew who are trekking their way through the Guyana jungle. The Metal Heart is now one I wish I had plumped for in hardback, it was so beautiful! 😍 Set in 1940, this is a hauntingly rich Second World War story about courage, brutality, freedom and beauty and the essence of what makes us human during the darkest of times. Finally, The Joys of Motherhood was picked by Bernardine Evaristo as one of her classic recommendations for Sky Arts Book Club. This is the moving story of Nnu Ego, a West African woman who gives everything to her children which leaves her friendless and alone in middle age. This is a powerful commentary on polygamy, patriarchy and women’s changing roles in urban Nigeria. I’d love to know your thoughts on any of these books or authors. Let’s have a chat in the comments!
