@puckgoodfaggot tagged me in the six albums roundup but I am unfortunately a single song bitch so here are the individual songs/one album I've been listening to

Valentine- Fiona Apple: she really sings in a key completely inaccessible to the mortal mind. Also I am not immune to songs that I might warp to fit the blorbos of my brain, and this is absolutely one of them. Been saying "a still life drawing of a peach" a lot

Let Me Bathe in Demonic Light- The Mountain Goats: John Darnielle makes so much music and all of it taps into this weird well of sadness so still and quiet I forgot it was there. Dark in Here is a good album too.

New Boo- Kwamie Liv: I like to get stoned and listen to new music high because the barrier to entry is lower and even sober, this song just feels so good. Maybe it's the baseline, or the artist's voice, but it really meshes well

Love Me More- Mitski: All her new stuff whips ass (no surprise there) but THIS ONE. The "you" being music, in which she implores her art to love her like she deserves. Her mind! I've also been listening to Crack Baby a lot.

DAMN.- Kendrick Lamar: The first non-classical, non-jazz album to win a Pulitzer for music and it fucking deserves every ounce of praise. To Pimp A Butterfly has been looping recently as well, but DAMN. is a full experience that empties and fills, flows and bends, like a sculpture or a stream. I really feel like a different person after each listen.

Quiet- Lights: I actually heard this one recently for the first time on Tumblr (which is surprisingly good for discovering new music) and it's such a song to be 16 to. Another one for the girls (when they're yearning, not fighting), and I love that kind of shy late aughts sound.

Honorable mention: Bitch- Allie X: Allie X makes music for old soul bitches who had a really toxic relationship with an older man and are now perpetually wary and I love her for that.
