The Great British Blorbo Off Begins Shortly....
Thanks everyone for waiting so patiently while I take my time sorting this all out! I'm pleased to announce that I've decided on everyone that will be in the tournament, and we will be starting next Monday (16th)! So, here's how it's going to work:
There are 128 characters overall, and I have split them into 4 brackets with two rounds each.
I will be posting 8 polls (1 round) a week, and will reblog them in the middle of the week and at the end of the week.
Once we get down to one character left from each bracket, they will go against each other in semifinals until only two are left.
Winner becomes the new queen of England <3
If anyone that submitted a character has a specific image of them they'd like me to use, feel free to send it over. If you've submitted a character from a book then I will just be using the front cover of the book they're from as their image, so let me know if there's a TV/film version or certain cover you'd like!

COLE CASSIDY doesn’t like HANZO SHIMADA—doesn’t like that kinslayer one fucking bit. It takes every ounce of self control he can muster to not put a bullet through the fucker’s skull when Genji brings him to the recall with promises of “redemption” and “honor” and “second chances.” But the Hanzo Genji brings is different than anyone was expecting: he lives like he’s already staring down the gallows, and that death wish could get them all killed, if they’re not careful. Can he break through Hanzo’s walls and discover what exactly is making this man tick? Or will Hanzo be left to rot in this cage of his own making, unable to redeem himself even unto death?

THE LIMINAL SPACE SERIES
a series of 5 continuous books and 1 spinoff tale centered around this universe’s concept of liminal spaces. what they all have in common is they center on death, Reapers, Witches, magic, possession, and horror, but above all liminal spaces.
Liminal Spaces are defined as the place a person is in during a transitional period. this can be emotionally, physically, metaphysically or all of the above. in this series liminal spaces are more akin to separate planes of existence where death and horror reign supreme and magic is in the air. nothing is impossible and your worst nightmares usually come true.

summary: 20 year old darren de leon is content with just living his life as is, with his father dave, step-sister (kinda) olice, and not including his father’s girlfriend veronica as much as possible. that is, until someone he never thought he would meet shows up at their doorstep—his absentee mother, lizette rouzet blanc who… incidentally is a vampire. someone is out to hunt darren down and so they have to leave town to get to safety… leading to the most awkward and life changing road trip he’s ever been on.

The serpent frowned at the iguana’s boyish form of address. “How old are you, Quye’ck?”
“Twenty and three.” He watched the red-stained bowl fall from his quivering hands. Spattering. A shower of rubies, quickly turning garnet. “Like you...”
“And where are we?”
He grunted and shivered as his neck and head tingled. A powerful rush thrust through his skull. Deafening. He raised his head. The image of his donor came dangerously in and out of focus…
“Son of Clan Lexlar.” The familiar voice floated from behind the serpent’s sealed lips, “Where are we?”
His tongue felt swollen. “So it’s you… son of Clan Hartim… I knew it was you...”
“Answer me.”
Steel slicing through the air. His shallow breaths and the calm ones of his feast. Lucidity raced to meet him as his grip molded to the pommel of his saber. “I need to ask you somethin'.”
The serpent waved him away with a grunt as he painted a stripe of red down his throat, fervently praying.
“How many are you sendin' to Ishva today?” Not that.
“All of them.”
They strode out into the arena. One freshly bled, the other freshly fed, both yearning for the glorious entanglement of iron, limbs, and death. The crowd roared to life—a beast of many heads and mouths.
One sacrament done, another just begun.
Speckled by patches of sun.
Caged by trunks, leaves, and vines.
Assaulted by jeering insects and birds.

You know that joke about how the voltron reboot feels like it was written by people who hate giant robots? Netflixvania feels like it was written by people who hate any monsters that aren’t vampires. And also shonen. It feels like the writers wanted to do the vampire chronicles instead or something.
Shdksskksk I only have second hand knowledge of the trainwreck that was voltron but man
And yea! The vampire favoritism is huge, considering how we're supposed to feel pity for them despite their atrocities w no redeeming qualities. They dont write them as nuanced monsters with some trying to coexist despite their nature, they're basically amoral fanged elves who are mistreated by those simple minded hunters :( (ignore the atrocities they commited on screen 5 minutes ago). And with this ask i do realize they placed other game's bosses to the sideline. My memories of the show are blurry but i don't remember any non vampires being part of Dracula's generals or having mayor roles (aside from uhh, Legion and Abel?)
And this truly shines in the way both Alucard and Death (and the belmonts) were rewritten, the former went from a tortured soul who sealed himself to stop his cursed blood, to someone who considers vampires his kin and defend them from the belmontd in the face of their implied child murders; and the latter who went from a spawn of Chaos with the purpose to serve the Dark Lord into an special soul sucking vampire who speaks like a league of legends player
It just feels like it tries to tell a gritty grimdark story, which doesnt works with castlevania ( cv is a silly monster smasher! And with optimistic tones! It's part of its charm),and it doesn't works on it's own ( the writing doesnt has the maturity and it doesnt takes itself seriously, not with the gratuitous vulgarity and oversimplification of nuanced subjects). And its pretty sad bc a shonen esque tone would suit Richter n Maria's story so well (the RoB cutscenes my fellas!)
Like i said tho, my memories of the show are a bit diffuse ( thank the gods) so i apologies if i have gotten things wrong and such
