From an upcoming chapter of M.O.W, meet Vitasmaya, powerful vampire lizardfolk muscle mommy and Lexlar's aunt this is not seven lines but i couldnt split it up, you understand:
She was just as tall as his Pa, nearing his seven feet with alarming closeness, and was just as broad, if not more so—a testament to her willingness to feed whenever the mood struck. Her spikes crowned a proud, muscle framed ridge, emerging from the back of her neck, several inches in height, that slipped between her shoulders and trailed down her back. To balance her shape, was her tattered dewlap, protruding from her throat and not finding its taper until the apex of her sternum.  The limbs she called her own were thick and deadly and roped with plump veins, as if someone imagined her form in stone, surged it alive with their blood and sacrificed the brilliance of their eyes so she might see. And what ferocity those two portals beheld! Gleaming like pristinely cut topazes—the most precious, luminous cores of her smoldering spirit—wrapped in fierce red scales, hunted furs and polished bones. These environs and the gauntlet of life ensured that none of her could be called delicate, shaping her instead to be a warrior even Kava would be proud to hoist on her shoulders.

Character Quote tag
Or Personality Through Quotes Tag, or Character Voice Tag, or Characterization Through Quotes, I'm not entirely sure what this tag is called
Tagged by @illarian-rambling thank you!
Rules: Make up a quote from your character following your prompt!
My prompt: A quote about death
Your prompt: A quote about a pet/animals
--------------------------------------------------------
Nicolette: Death is a transformation, that's all. The last transformation, and the one we all share. I don't really believe people fear death. I think they fear change, and they fear losing. They avoid it so they don't have to think about it. And because they don't think about it, they get more afraid. People would fear death less if they knew it better.
Alyss: Nonsense and nothingness, peaceful and passing. I imagine. Like sleeping without nightmares or dreams. I know it plenty well enough to hate and miss it. The before isn't pretty. But after, well, you don't care much at all, do you? That's the nice thing about being dead.

Last Line Tag/Heads Up 7 Up/Nine Sentences
Thanks @talesofsorrowandofruin, @lordfenric-writes, @ace-malarky, and @tabswrites for your various tags! I'm working on the first chapter of the first book in the 'Clip Your Wings' series, so...
"I think a classmate is missing," Megara said. He wasn't sure if she was a classmate, but something was wrong here, and he didn't know what. Finding her was a step to figuring it out, he was sure.
The teacher glanced at their clipboard and raised a brow. "Who?"
What was her name? What... "R.K? I think that's her name. Dark hair, blue eyes?"
I'll tag, with no pressure, @inky-duchess, @zmwrites, @magic-is-something-we-create, @writernopal, @surroundedbypearls, @ashen-crest, and @chayscribbles.

He beamed at her and kissed her a second time before putting her back on her feet with an embarrassed look.
“Sorry, I got carried away.”
With a goofy grin she put her head in her neck. The heat rising in her was either her fire demanding attention or Wynthan’s action, she couldn’t clearly tell, maybe it was both.
“I like that side of you better than the grumpy, silent observer I saw at the archives.”
He ran his hand through his hair with an apologetic look.
“Yeah, sorry about that. It is just as long as we don’t know for sure what to do I like to keep Ylvante out of the loop.”
“I understand.”
I am tagging @cljordan-imperium @tabswrites @writernopal @pluttskutt and whoever likes to do it.

I just started my second attempt at a book set in Halara, and this is the opening scene. Keep in mind everyone here is 9:
“It’s true! The dragon swept over the walls and sent fire burning through the streets!”
Luwel rolled their eyes hard and took another spoonful of stew. “F’le doesn’t even have walls.”
Ko’a leaned on the table and answered confidently, “Every city has walls.”
Aru’a, tucked in the shadows at the far end of the bench, ventured quietly, “Why didn’t we hear about it in the news?”
“Because it didn’t happen here?” Ko’a tried, less confidently.
“That’s a good point,” Luwel agreed with their mouth full, “Where did you hear about this?”

Heads Up, Seven Up

from neon bloodlust
Detroit doesn’t want a new man. He wants Vex, and maybe that’s the only answer he really needed. “Thanks for the advice,” he says, still a little perplexed by this whole ordeal, but he has come to expect no less from Devi.
“Mm. Anytime. It is what. I am here for. After all.” She tips a non-existent hat and attempts a wink that results in her eye twitching on a repetitive loop until she smacks it with her palm. “Will you be. Buying a metal detector? I have. Discount coupons.”
He wants to ask where she could possibly have a coupon for, but dismisses the question and says, “No, but I’ll let you know if I change my mind.”

heads up, seven up
tagged by @fortunatetragedy, ty!! I won't lie, I did not even count these but it's definitely way more than seven lines lol
"I'll warn you, you're not going to get very far." Orion starts. Behind him, a petite, elderly white woman exits the dining room to join him beside the back door. She wears a smartly tailored pantsuit, though the style is a few decades out of fashion, and a pearl choker. She peers out at the porch and the gardens beyond. "You might be able to make it to the property line, but you needn't bother exerting yourself, Ms. Murphy." She beams—a serene, inviting expression, but Orion is well-versed in practiced smiles. "I'm Adeline's, it's such a pleasure to have you here. I'm afraid you missed breakfast, but why don't you come introduce yourself to your fellow guests? They've waited in the dining room to meet you." Orion glances over her shoulder in the direction she came; every seat at the table stands empty. "I'm not actually a guest. I'm a friend of Madrigal's, she let me stay here last night. I'll be out of your way as soon as possible."
I'll tag @writernopal @writingmaidenwarrior @ink-flavored @spideronthesun and anyone on the tag list who wants to <3

“you don’t owe anyone anything” no. of course not. but then you also can’t expect genuine connections or any depth to your relationships. community is about caring about each other. making sacrifices for one another. it’s about persistence and fighting for what you’ve built when things get hard. it’s helping your friend move, picking them up from the airport. it’s being there for them at their worst and at their best. it’s holding their hand and knowing that once your hand needs holding they’ll be right there too. so no, you don’t owe anyone anything but please don’t act surprised when that means you end up completely isolated.

The best way to get a writer writing faster is not to leave a comment begging, asking, or passive aggressively demanding an update. Whether the comment is silly, playful, earnest, or downright rude, whether or not the author is flattered by the comment, it is unlikely to spur your writer to action.
The best way to get a writer writing faster is to comment on the actual story you want written-its plot, its characters, its themes, its anything--for the very simple reason that thinking about the story is the first step to actually writing the story.
If I have five WIPs going and someone leaves me a comment on one saying, "update when?", they have not gotten me thinking about my story at all. The answer remains "whenever the winds of fate drive me to open up that document." If someone leaves a comment talking about the story, their understanding of it, what they are enjoying or confused by or hope to see, now I am thinking about the story and what I wanted to accomplish with it. That fresh perspective on my work has the gears turning in my head. And now I am ten times more likely to open up that doc and set my fingers to typing.
Will this always work? No. People have busy lives and inspiration can be a fickle beast. But it is a far better approach (and dare I say less annoying and entitled approach) to getting your favorite author writing the fic you want them to be writing.
