I think it's pretty on brand for Neil Gaiman to drop a surprise Sandman bonus episode with no promotion beforehand. I wouldn't be surprised if he said something like "Ah sorry, you're going to have to wait until 2023 for Good Omens s2 to drop :/," and then it turns out they've been filming way before s2 was even announced, and it's dropping in October.
