Can we have some top!carol & bottom!therese smut where Therese is playing a song for Carol on the piano and Carol comes up behind her and fucks her right on the piano bench?
Tumblr media
“That’s beautiful,” Carol murmured, her hands settling on Therese’s shoulders as she closed her eyes listening to the soft piano melody flowing through the room.
“That’s familiar,” the brunette smiled, proud of herself that Carol’s hands on her shoulders now seemed comfortable and loving, no bolt of sudden shock rippling through her arms and neck like they once had. Now this was a combo occurrence as Therese liked to play for at least a half an hour every day. Carol often liked to watch, leaning against the wall, admiring the younger woman from afar or sitting on the bench beside her, watching the motion of Therese’s fingers. Sometimes, she merely listened. Curling up on the couch with a book or merely sitting in a state of almost-meditation as she let the notes waft through the air, her shoulders gently swaying.
“You’re beautiful,” the blonde whispered, her hands continuing to trail down There’s shoulders and towards her chest, fingers softly dipping behind the fabric of Therese’s sweater.
“I’m nothing compared to you,” Therese chuckled, shaking her head, the notes continuing but growing softer and lighter.
Carol’s hands slid out of her sweater and snaked down her arms, stopping on top of the brunette’s hands, holding them still against the keys, the final notes vibrating in the air, Therese’s body vibrating against her.
“Am I allowed to distract you, dearest?” Carol asked, her lips trailing down down the brunette’s neck, to her shoulder as Therese let out a soft sigh. “You’re being too hard on yourself with this piece. There’s no concerto to prepare for, love. Just your sweet music in the air and you know I already think you are perfection.”
“Carol,” Therese chuckled lightly. “I’ve still got ten more minutes.”
“Who’s keeping tabs?”
“Me,” Therese grinned.
“Let me finger you now and you can finger those keys all you want while I make dinner.”
“Carol!” Therese, hissed, her hands fumbling as the keys made an awkward, rippled sound as they fell messily across the keys.
“You don’t even have to move,” Carol murmured, one hand slipping from Therese’s own and falling to the brunette’s thigh before sliding up and under her skirt, ghosting towards the cotton of her underwear. She started to rub slow circles against the fabric of the panties, Therese closing her eyes as her head fell back against Carol’s chest. “Doesn’t this feel nice, darling? Don’t you want more of this?”
“I—Carol I—“
“Mm?”
“I’m out of excuses,” Therese squeaked, letting her own hands fall, trying to reach behind her to touch any part of Carol she could grab without seeing her. Hips. Thighs. Belly.
“So wet for me already,” Carol purred, Therese starting to teeter on the piano bench trying to seek more friction, the fabric still in the way of what she really wanted from Carol. “Tell me, dearest. What would you have me do?”
“I—I want you.”
“You have me.”
“I want you,” Therese swallowed. “Inside me.”
“Like this?” Carol hissed, her fingers disappearing behind the fabric of Therese’s underwear completely, dragging along her slit as Therese whined, up and down and up and down, Therese starting to get visibly agitated as she let out a grumble only for Carol to plunge her fingers deep, Therese letting out a moan as Carol pushed inside, starting to pump in and out.
“Oh god, Carol,” Therese exhaled, her hands balling into fists against the bench. “Please, baby. Please. Let me.”
“You’ll be good for me if I let you?” Carol smirked against Therese’s cheek. “You’ll do whatever I ask?”
“Anything, Carol,” Therese gasped. “Please—please let me—Fuck!” Therese gasped, falling over the edge suddenly, Carol’s fingers still inside her as she pulsed around her, her chest falling forward towards the keys.
“You’re so good for me, dearest,” Carol purred. “So beautiful. And as much as I love how you play—this is what’s music to my ears. Those pretty sounds you make for me.”

RANKS OF CALL OF DUTY!!
To help my fellow COD fanfiction writers with ranks of the military, because (this may just be me being picky) but it incessantly annoys me when someone writes König as a lower rank as Ghost, or Price a higher rank than Alejandro. Hopefully this helps! Reblogs appreciated :)
Also, these characters are not from the same country, so their ranks may be different due to their affiliations. I combined the American and British ranks together for more accuracy. If I'm wrong, please let me know so I can correct myself!
Will be in the format of
Highest rank-
-Rank:
Name, name, name
-"
-"
-"
Lowest rank
Reblogs appreciated!
--
General:
-Norris
-Herschell Shepherd (it depends but he's also a Lieutenant General in some games)
Lieutenant General:
-Herschell Shepherd
Brigadier:
❌️
Colonel:
-Alejandro Vargas
-König*
-Marshall (the dude who had his muppets on a string /ref)
Commander:
-Farah Karim*
-Phillip Graves*
Lieutenant Colonel:
❌️
Major:
❌️
Captain:
-John Price
-John "Soap" MacTavish (2009 games)
-Viktor Reznov
Lieutenant:
-Simon "Ghost" Riley
-Hadir Karim*
Second Lieutenant:
❌️
--
Sergeant Major:
-Rodolfo Parra
Warrant Officer:
❌️
Staff Sergeant:
-Nikolai (but the name of his rank is "Senior Sergeant" because he's Russian)*
-Griggs
Sergeant:
-John "Soap" MacTavish (2019 version)
-Kyle "Gaz" Garrick
-Keegan Russ
-Roach
Corporal:
-Krueger*
Lance Corporal:
❌️
Private:
❌️
So, in the span of things:
König > Price > Ghost
Rudy > Nikolai > Soap > Krueger
Farah = Graves
Ghost = Hadir
König = Alejandro
Edit: As some have stated in the comments, PMC ranks do not equate to "proper" military ranks. As such, take what I say with a pinch of salt. PMC characters/characters not in the military will now have an asterisk (*) next to their name. :)
If you'd like me to add to this let me know! Comments or reblogs work :). This'll update pretty steadily:)

Hello, I just wanted to ask what your opinion on fanfic commissions is? Is it ok to ask for payment for fics in the same way fanartists ask for payments? There just seems to be more stigma against fanfic writers asking for payment for their work than there is for fan artists.
I seem to recall some original authors LOATHING fanfic but then gladly sharing because it promotes their work.
Personally, I’d never ask for payment for my fics because I can never finish anything under pressure/on time but I think the option should be there for other fic writers
I'm going to answer this question in a few different ways. First, specific to AO3:
Do not link to patreon or ko-fi or even a price list from your AO3 account. That includes the author's notes on a fic, your profile page, or in the comments. Linking to any commercial page (ie, a page whose purpose is for the user to spend money) is against the Terms of Service for the site. That also includes the donation pages for charities. Link to their home page instead.
Second, in terms of legality (take this with a grain of salt because I'm not a lawyer):
There has not yet been a successful court case where a creator has sued a fanfiction author and won. What usually happens is the creator will send the fic author a cease and desist and that will scare the fic author into self-deleting their works. DMCA takedown requests have also happened, but as of Sept 10, 2022 I'm not aware of any case law stating that fanfiction is illegal or that it's illegal for fic authors to make money for writing fic. Profit is one factor in consideration during a fair use lawsuit, but it's not the only one.
Third, historically:
You are correct. There is a long, long history of everyone from George Lucas to Anne Rice to George RR Martin being extremely upset by the existence of fanfiction. However, fanart isn't without its own controversy. Fanart of live action shows, movies, or novels is quite clearly not made by the original cast or creators. However, fanart of animated shows or movies and of comic books could potentially be mistaken for "the real thing". It's not unusual for comics artists to request fans not sell their fanart for profit. Plus, there is just as much discussion in art spaces about whether fanart is "real art" as there is in writing spaces about whether fanfic is "real writing". We have more in common than you might think.
Lastly, for myself:
I've been commissioned before. I've written probably 2-5? fics for money. I can't be exact because it's been so long that I don't remember and the commission was along the lines of "I want more of your fic, so please take this money and write whatever you want for this ship". It's not something I sought out, and I don't think it's something I'd personally do again. Not because of any moral superiority or anything. Just because I don't want to monetize my free time. Fic and fandom are hobbies for me. They're fun. They give me a feeling of freedom and creativity. I worry that introducing money into that space would turn it into a job and change my reasons for writing. I wouldn't post a fic because it was a bonkers idea that made me cackle with glee. I'd write to please the person who paid me and to try to encourage more people to pay me too.

Miraculous Ladybug and "Girl Power"
This post will not be about Marinette, as I've already gone over in previous posts of mine how I think the series lets her down in numerous different ways and if I were to add them all in here again it would overshadow everything else.
And "everything else", in this respect, involves the other female classmates and how they've all been let down in various ways by the whims of the creators and the writing team.
(Which bears worth mentioning at this point are majority male. The creator of the series is male, the main producer is male, and quite a bit of the writer's room over various years has been male.)
These various decisions in poor storytelling have led to, in some cases, the characters themselves becoming points of division within the fandom. Which also isn't something seen in other fandoms, at least not to the same extent I've witnessed in this one.
This is going to be long, so let's get going.
Alix: Ends up having to leave her class, and family, and exist "somewhere in time" until the Butterfly Miraculous is claimed back. However, since in the finale of Season 5 it gets lost again, ultimately she is gone for an undetermined length of time. Also she might become her own grandmother.
Rose: An undefined mysterious "illness" plagues her, and that it can come back at "any time", but it's not defined, therefore a Sword of Damocles is always hanging over her.
Sabrina: Essentially a slave to Chloe, shown at one point to actually be locked in a closet while being forced to do the homework of her "best friend". Is oblivious to how poorly she's being treated.
Juleka: At some point over between Seasons 3 and 4, was retconned into being the "twin" of Luka, which had the added effect of making her fail a year of school and so was held back. May or may not be in love with Rose, it's not something that will ever be properly defined.
Mylene: A character whose design incorporates her hair into rainbow dreads, which is a quagmire of appropriation.
Lila: A master manipulator that, for some reason, is able to fool various kids and adults and is able to flex between three different families. Has essentially become a caricature as her background leads to disbelief, and has been chosen to be the future Hawkmoth on top of that all.
Alya: Due to choices made when meeting Lila and with the continuation of believing certain things said by her, over Marinette, and also for various choices made while being a hero, Alya's position in the fandom has turned out to be divisive enough that "Alya Salt" is a genre of fanfiction on AO3.
Chloe: Originally on the road to redemption, things took a turn during Season 3 and ultimately Chloe paid the price of decisions made behind the scenes. Presented as even more evil than Hawkmoth, her future is one of being stuck with her abusive mother.
Zoe: Introduced in Season 4, Zoe is Chloe's sister and "replacement", in more ways than one. Not only does she get the Bee Miraculous, she also gets Chloe's biological father. Also has a crush on Marinette and it's actually shown in the show before Marinette lets her down gently as nothing can get in the way of the Love Square.
Kagami: Stuck alongside another abusive parent who disregards her artistic talent despite being blind, Kagami is eventually revealed to be a Sentimonster and will be in a relationship with a person who has shown to be disrespectful, and also said pairing came out of nowhere.
-
That's just a short list, and again it doesn't include everything with Marinette.
Such "Girl Power", am I right?

Crackpot Headcanon: Vlaakith's 'Grand Design' for Lae'zel (and the Githyanki)
Back again on my raving bullshit for Baldur's Gate 3 (D&D and Forgotten Realms by relation), this time we're looking at the Lich Queen Tyrant, Vlaakith CLVII... cause I have lunatic thoughts of this bitch that fuel the fanfiction I write.
As with all my lunatic fandom ravings, spoilers abound for Baldur's Gate 3, associated materials, and course, take this all with COPIOUS amounts of salt. I get most, if not all, of my 'canon' info from the Forgotten Realms wiki and try to doublecheck the sources but I don't always have the time or means to.
Tumblr media
So what is known of Vlaakith is actually very little. The one in Baldur's Gate 3 is, presumably, the 157th githyanki to hold this title and has reigned for a thousand years (mostly as a lich). She has no known heirs and aspires to ascend to godhood (primarily through spam-casting Wish). D&D Lore is very sparse on the githyanki and even more so when it comes to nuances with the githyanki. They have existed since the days of AD&D (Advanced Dungeons & Dragons) but we didn't have much about them, canonically, for a long time.
So, lunatics like myself, let the brain worms fill in the blanks.
We know that Gith, for which the people get their namesake, was the figurehead and Leader of the rebellion that led to the toppling and near extinction of the Illithid Empire unknown millenia before. At her side, I believe both Vlaakith and Zerthimon assisted her (as advisors in different capacities... and to some unknown extent, her only 'confirmed' blood relative, her son Orpheus). As to their exact roles, it is unknown how Vlaakith advised Gith in the matters of her rebellion but given she is referred to as the first of a long series of Lich-Queens that rule the githyanki, her capacity likely involved her skill and knowledge in the arcane/Weave.
Tumblr media
After the rebellion, it is believed Gith and Zerthimon fell to infighting, as Gith presumably was so consumed with righteous fury, she single-mindedly wanted to continue hunting down the remaining illithids while Zerthimon, seeing they had won, wished to carve a new life for the 'gith' now that they were free.
In my deranged mind, I suspect/believe that the Proclamation of Two Skies (how the gith refer to their civil war that led to the creation of the -yanki and the -zerai) was stoked and brought to fruition by Vlaakith I. She was always manipulative and concerned, primarily, with her own ambitions. Having witnessed how Gith roused and united the gith, how they called her 'mother' may have stoked jealousy in Vlaakith and so she conspired to take that power and reverence for herself, especially under the suspicion I have that Gith and Zerthimon were lovers/mates (I wrote a theory pointing at Orpheus may be their son).
Vlaakith conspired to turn Gith and Zerthimon upon each other but her plan had an unintended consequence; the division of the gith people into the Githyanki and the Githzerai (and with time, further fracturing in the form of Pirates of Gith, Sha'sal Khou and the Githvyrik (dunno how canon this is anymore because only occurs in one novel)). However, Vlaakith saw an opportunity in this fracture; Gith to be the sacrificial lamb on the altar of her ambitions.
Tumblr media
It's believed Vlaakith I's first attempt at bargaining with Baator (The Nine Hells) was seeking a pact with Dispater. However, Vlaakith's attempt(s) failed for one reason or another... likely because Dispater is far more paranoid than Vlaakith is and saw no merit in a deal with such a conniving creature.
Having failed in bargaining with the Lord of Dis, Second Layer of Baator, Vlaakith found herself bargaining with Tiamat. It is, still, unknown the terms of their pact (or how she even got to bargaining with the Chromatic Dragon Queen to begin with) but the bargain was successful and Gith ended up being part of the price.
Tumblr media
After the githyanki retreated into the Astral Plane, since the civil war left them weakened (and the githzerai went to Limbo), Vlaakith convinces Gith to travel to Avernus (First Layer of Baator), likely with promises that fed into Gith's violent ego and giving no indication that Gith was not going to make it back. With the bargain paid, Tiamat imprisoned Gith among her hoard (presumably) while Vlaakith returned to the githyanki on the back of Ephelomon, Tiamat's Chromatic Red consort. Together, the two convinced the githyanki that Gith had martyred herself in the bargain and commanded that Vlaakith guide and rule their people in her absence.
This is where the canon gets messy, as there appears to be a discrepancy in the order of events. In the 5e Monster Manual, it suggests Vlaakith sealed the bargain with Tiamat before the Proclamation of Two Skies happened. Texts like Mordenkaine's Tome of Foes suggests the bargain with Tiamat was struck after the split. I'm more inclined to agree it happened after, since the Githzerai and other non-yanki Gith do not benefit from the terms of the pact (mainly the access to Red Dragons)
Tumblr media
So, what's this all got to do with the current Vlaakith?
Vlaakith CVII is more than I (want to) believe Larian has told/shown us.
Like her namesake, Vlaakith CVII is a lich that has, supposedly been in power for, roughly, a thousand years by the time the events of Baldur's Gate 3 happen. She upholds the teachings, protocols, and ambitions of her originator and predecessors yet has no known heirs (blood relative or otherwise).
My crazy idea is that Vlaakith CVII is actually Vlaakith I... and all other holders of the 'title' before her have just been Vlaakith. Vlaakith is too vain and ambitious to let something like death get in her way and likely sought every means possible to buy herself the time she needed to achieve her ultimate ambition; Godhood.
Vlaakith's insanity is well in line with the 'canon' behavior of liches, especially 'long-lived' ones. Now, she is just a creature driven by the all-consuming desire to ascend and achieve the ultimate power by any means necessary.
Ascending to divinity/godhood in D&D is... not very clear. The primary factor is faith, as a god needs followers to thrive and derive power from. By controlling the githyanki in all aspects of life, establishing castes like the Inquisitors to hunt down and silence dissenters, sealing Prince Orpheus within the Astral Prism (and infernal chains), using Gith's name and 'sacrifice' as a catylst to keep the people's devotion on herself... but this is a slow process so Vlaakith also encouraged and regulates the militaristic structure of githyanki society to produce powerful warriors that she can, later, consume and sacrifice in her spam-casting of the Wish spell and whatever other means she uses those poor souls for (aside from the husks she keeps)
Tumblr media
So, how and why does Lae'zel factor into all of this?
Literally, this is all because of one dialogue line Vlaakith gives in Act 3 of Baldur's Gate 3: Promising to make Lae'zel Baht Vlaakith, the Commander of Dragons; her Chosen (despite having no true divine power). She offers Lae'zel's greatest ambition; to be Kith'rak, to ascend beyond even the standards of her people and serve at Vlaakith's feet.
Weird thing to say to someone you can just Thanos-snap from existence, which Vlaakith does if your party refuses to comply with her at Creche Y'llek. (Seriously, this woman will waste a Wish on you just to remove the entire party from existence for 'waving hello' at her)
Tumblr media
Vlaakith has determined Lae'zel as her 'heir' and needs her to return so that she may possess/control her (either through the use of spells like Domination or something more sinister, like excising her soul and possessing her body; no clue if liches can do this). I believe some githyanki that held the title of 'Vlaakith' were simply thralls to Vlaakith I, enhancing her duplicity to make it seem like the title passes on between individuals (despite having NO information on how this is determined within githyanki society).
The only other 'brain worm' I have about why Vlaakith attempts to bargain with Lae'zel one more time about killing Orpheus instead of, I dunno, simply Wish-murder the party, is there is something important about Lae'zel that not even the githyanki herself is aware of. Not to the degree of a psionic null zone but perhaps something Vlaakith has been nurturing through controlled breeding to accelerate her consumption of power... or as an offering to Tiamat.
Hells, if you talk to Withers in the Epilogue about the fate of a Vlaakith aligned Lae'zel... he says she's just gone. Her soul no longer exists.
A fate worse than death and Lae'zel went to it, oblivious.
Yep, there it is... more cracked brainworm thoughts for Baldur's Gate 3.
I'm also not a fan of Vlaakith but hey, I feel like there needs to be way more depth and analyzing some of this stuff my brain just does on its own.. and it fuels my fan-fic writing (which you should totally check out)
I hope folks are enjoying my insane ramblings.

Hello! I saw your beautiful shawl and that you are a professional knitter. Do you sell your work anywhere, or do you sell patterns? If it's not your pattern, would you be willing to point me to where I could purchase it?
i have an etsy (catwif3works) that is very behind on listings since i've been out of the area of my photographer for 2 years!
i have many other shawls that are also technically available for sale but i don't have full descriptions or set prices for yet ^^;;
for some examples !
if you're interested in knitting the one in the photo that got notes, it's the hortense beaded lace shawl by anna victoria!
i use almost exclusively yarn by wendy's wonders for gradients!

Florist Talk: daily tasks
I recently made a post with bullet points talking about some of the common aspects of being a florist (caveat: at a mom n pop shop in a small town in the US, not all points apply universally). This time I'm going to narrow down on the normal sorts of everyday, week to week aspects. This is written as though it's a guide for the writing of Florist AU fiction/fanfiction, so occasionally I'll refer to the example Florist as your Florablorb, or, now, Florbo for short.
May this be of use to anyone writing such a story in order to simply ground your character in everyday tasks when plot/characterization needs to happen.
Opening tasks: I'm sure you can imagine. Doors open, lights on, computer/POS logged into and till shift opened, any ambient music turned on. Extra details can be added such as dragging out sandwich board signs or those outdoor flags or maybe even an outside display stand/cart (only in warmer months) or shoveling/salting a walkway (if in a snowy time/place).
Then Florbo goes into the walk-in flower cooler and removes any flower arrangements premade for delivery on this day. Maybe delivery slips are organized now, maybe left for when a delivery will actually be made. Anything that was ordered in day(s) before this one should be delivered on the first run of the day if possible.
If there's a florist website it's possible web orders came in after previous day's closing/before opening this one. They might autoprint and simply need to be collected off the printer. If they exist they get sorted into same-day or put into whatever organization system is used for future orders. The shop I work at has a series of cubbies labeled Monday through Saturday; order sheets are folded in half and put into whatever day it's meant for.
Start working on whatever flower orders came in for this day. If they're done before first delivery time then they can go out with the others. If not, they'll go out later. On a busy day, an unspecified or "designer's choice" arrangement can be chosen from the display cooler for speed. It'll be replaced by a design of similar price when more time is available.
If calls or walk in customers happen during any of this then they're handled in between the rest of it.
Usually in my experience there's minimum two deliveries per day: one mid morning / before noon, and one after lunch breaks are taken / mid-afternoon. Rarely are there fewer runs, and occasionally more orders come in during or after the second run so a third (or fourth, or sometimes, rarely, even a fifth) are needed. This might be very modest given the size of the shop/town I work in; more may be normal (especially with a dedicated driver) in a larger or busier city.
Again, usually I can get any same-day morning orders done either before or just after lunch breaks conclude. Again, this might vary place to place, and definitely varies day to day.
Lunch breaks can be half an hour to a full hour depending on your place and person and how busy it all is. I've got a near-retirement boss who likes to go out to lunch and takes a full hour. I usually only do half an hour unless for some reason I need to run home for lunch in which case I can typically have an hour as well.
If and when same-day orders are finished, Florbo will get into the cubby/other organization and find anything already there for the next day and start working on those orders. Floral arrangements go into the back cooler (not the display one, to avoid confusion/people walking in and wanting to buy things already made for others). Any live plants or gift-type items go on some sort of shelf or counter or other out of the way surface. Confusion can happen if Florbo doesn't pay attention to dates: an order for Monday the first will be in the same cubby as an order for Monday the eighth. Gotta try to stay on top of that but mistakes can happen.
If a same-day order is made while working on next-day orders, it gets priority.
Obvious is obvious but orders that go to schools have to get there comfortably before school lets out. If that is just not feasible because someone up and ordered fifteen minutes before the final bell they'll need to be told that it's gonna be a tomorrow thing now. This usually isn't an issue.
There's usually a same-day delivery time cutoff, usually sometime in the afternoon. How strictly it is followed may vary by the day and store. If someone tries to skirt this cutoff by ordering online they may or may not need to be called and informed that it's not gonna work this day. There will be a separate post on Delivery Protocol later because that gets a bit long.
Make any arrangements needed to refill the display cooler. Every few days or so, recut and rewater any arrangements left in the display cooler to give them more longevity.
Normal cleaning chores might be done during lulls as well. Dusting shelves or watering live plants is occasional, but sweeping the work area and cooler floors is daily. No matter how careful you are in cutting leaves and flower stems stuff will end up on the floor. Some of those stems will ricochet wildly when clipped.
Flower deliveries come about twice a week. They could arrive any time of day, even overnight (warehouse drivers will usually have a key shop to put them inside for you) depending on your suppliers and their routes. Flowers arrive bundled in big, long boxes, and must be trimmed and put into water treated with flower food.
Flower food comes either in big buckets of white powder (mixed into water) or big buckets of liquid concentrate (again, mixed into water, and a handy hose that connects it to the water source through a special nozzle makes this much easier. The nozzle is squeezed like a gas pump and can be used to fill buckets/vases/jugs directly).
Closing bits are just what you'd expect. Sometimes someone calls or walks in five minutes before closing, and Florbo must unfortunately suffer this.
SATURDAY SPECIAL: any and all of the above needed, but this tends to be the slowest day for orders and deliveries, so instead some of the time is filled by removing literally all flowers from the walk in cooler, sweeping and mopping the floor, and recutting/reorganizing/refreshing all the water buckets. This includes emptying a bucket used to collect cooler condensation water via a hose. There's never much in the winter but in the summer this has to be done two or three times a week otherwise it gets too full to lift or carry and your poor Florbo, if they have floppy arms, might be forced to drag it across the floor to tip it outside.
Of course things can vary depending on the day and vary even more if there's some kind of holiday altering the flow of business, but that bit's for a later post. This one's gotten long enough.
So go now, and couch your Florbo's dialogue and narrative in actions such as processing a fresh order of flowers from the wholesaler, or in resorting to dusting shelves for the third time that week because business has been so slow and they've run out of normal things to do and space in the display cooler to make things for. There is much variety to be had beyond writing them arranging yet another dozen roses every time plot rears its head!

I love your AUs you make. Some of the best day dream material there is. I am to lazy to write stories but it’s great to day dream about them.
I have seen your post with fic recs.Do you have any other fic recs of fic you just think are amazing?
Thank you so much! I still need to write up a bunch of my other ideas into a coherent string of words, but there's more new AUs to come! Some a little more ludicrous than others, if that's even possible.
Back to #rarepears recs which is apparently going to be a Thing. Since you didn't specify any particular fandom and the fact that you can stalk my bookmarks to see what I've been reading lately if you only wanted one particularly fandom... I'm giving you a little bit of everything:
Anything by esama. She is the GODDEST of fanfiction and nothing you say can convince me otherwise. Don't know what to start with first? Since it's most likely that you found me through my SVSSS ideas, Metagaming by esama is a great starting point in her treasure trove of works.
Likewise, anything by llamallamaduck. There's so many rarepairs and crack crossovers like damn did you just let me into a buffet for free? Plus the update speed is insane.
nirejseki's MDZS fics are a thing of glory and I have no doubt that my characterization of Lan Qiren and Wen Ruohan are influenced by their works and it shows. (Moreover, I would have never seen Wen Ruohan as a shippable character otherwise.)
Still can't get over the image of Sukuna dressed up in pink ruffled J-pop girl stage outfit, complete with the makeup, nails, and All The Things in In another galaxy (we belong to you and me) by slex (slexenskee)
We all know that astolat is amazing, but The Price of Bread and Salt and Royal Flush (both Game of Thrones works) are insane because I never expected those twists and turns.
I'm still (patiently) waiting for updates to love is a call to arms by blackkat. I really do love political discussions and grey mortality, what can I say?
And as a result, you won't be too surprised to know how much I adore Cleaning Crew; Teaching Kids to Value their Safety, for Fun and Profit by Reavv. A BNHA fic that gives a little more explorations about the downsides to hero schools, hero life under the glitz and glamour of the pro-hero industry, all from an outsider civilian POV.Meanwhile you can totally count on a Kakashi-who-reincarnates-as-Hawks Naruto X BNHA crossover to totally disillusion hopeful naive hero interns like nobody's business: Learning to Fly by Asteroid_Duck (JustThatOneGirl1815). Or have a Kakashi-with-his-shinobi-mindset getting dumbed into BNHA and having to figure out what the fuck is going on in this new world and adapting to all this cultural shock: One Sandwich Short of a Picnic by Sagartolen.
Have some more awesome outsider POV, but this time it's set in Naruto: Doing the Work by MarbleGlove
How about a sort of outsider POV except it's freaking Dabi who doesn't remember his past (yay amnesia) so he's trying to research what could be his possible backstory... area cryptid upset no one bothered to inform him of his tragic backstory by crimsonseekers
Outsider POV is all fun and giggles, but have you ever considered Academic Outer POVs?? Especially about the Jedi Order?? center stage by deniigiq
I do very much enjoy reading Hawks-centric stories, so enjoy this one in particular as Hawks as to juggle teaching at UA on top of all the other things that he does: Hawks-Sensei by GC4life
A World of Water and Crystal by The Feels Whale (miscellea) where it's technically Shen Yuan (who is Not Shen Qingqiu in this fic just to be clear!!) X Luo Bingge, except Shen Yuan's love makes Luo Bingge revert into Luo Bingmei mode. It's great.
Who doesn't like a good old time travel fix it, crack taken seriously fic? So have this amazing yuri on ice fic eternity will be born from hope by theseviolentdelights99. Lots of social media content too which is a huge plus!
The Less Than Immaculate Conception by The_Carnivorous_Muffin, Vinelle somehow makes the pairing (Yes, Twilight Volturi Marcus X Bella the human) seem like the most rational and sane thing out of everything that happens in this fic. (Just a note that you need to read Painting Red Madonnas first since The Less Than Immaculate Conception is an AU of Painting Red Madonnas. But trust me, that's also tasty, if only just a little less insane. BUT YOU WILL TOTALLY UNDERSTAND WHY when Bella's baby's name is revealed.)
How to even describe this masterpiece? Probably THE best worldbuilding I've ever found on AO3 period. Like it's Star Wars which is full of planets but this author is building out new conlangs and new cultures (plus all the OCs involved in describing the rich culture of the planets!!). So give it a go and then find yourself a week in being desperate enough for more than you join their discord server to read sneak peak snippets of future chapters: Civil Wars, Whistleblower Tactics, Schematic Drafting, And The Finer Points Of Sith Adoption: The Essential How-To Guide For The Engineering Jedi by Jackdaw_Kraai
So I tried to limit myself to 15 slots, but how can I not mention @marbelcrossovers? Go check out Marbel's beautiful BNHA crossovers; her GOJO X ENDEAVOR fic is what led me to write my first fanfiction Ichimaru Gin X Endeavor (and then start this tumblr blog) after all. And then I might have (evilly) thrown around the idea of Bakugou X Xanxus at her which turned into a 156k words and counting fic called Ready For The Mayhem. 😂👌 Good work Marbel! Cheering you on for more!
Anyways, happy reading!

I’m many of your recent Belivaird fics Carol and Therese are engaged so I was wondering if you could do a fic with how you imagine that proposal happening? (My headcanon is that Carol was the one to propose but I can also totally see Therese doing it so you can do whoever feels right for you haha)
Tumblr media
“You’re a star for doing this, love,” Carol beamed, turning to Therese who was sitting in the passenger seat of the car trying and failing not to glower at the windshield in front of her.
“I’m doing this for you, not Abby,” the brunette reminded her.
“Oh, hush,” the blonde laughed. “Don’t act like that. It’s no secret you and Abby are the best of friends these days. If anything, I should be upset that she’s replacing me. Should’ve known she’d end up liking my f-girlfriend more than me.”
They both caught the slip in speech, locking eyes for only a moment before the younger woman’s cheeks starting burning and she looked down at her lap.
“You promise you’ll come check on me at lunch? I don’t know anything about selling furniture.”
“I promise, sweet. And you don’t have to. Just explain your covering for the owners and take down any interested customers or questions. Abby and I will patch things over with them next week. We just need a body.”
“A body?” Therese snorted.
“A very cute body,” Carol amended. “A beautiful woman. With the sweetest smile. To bring in shoppers from far and near.”
“Yeah, yeah,” Therese rolled her eyes, reaching for the door handle.
“Dearest?”
“Mm?”
Carol’s blue eyes danced and sparkled mischievously in the sun, her lip caught in a smirk.
“Wouldn’t you like a parting kiss?” She teased, leaning over towards the brunette.
Therese melted against the blonde, letting their lips softly meet as she sighed into it.
“I love you,” Therese whispered softly, resting her forehead against the blonde’s.
“Not as much as I love you, dearest,” Carol murmured, stroking Therese’s cheek with the back of her hand. “Now go. Before we get too distracted.”
A few stolen kisses later, from teasing and procrastination on each side, Therese was gone in the shop and Carol was turning the corner, discretely parking only a block or so away where Abby was meeting her in a diner.
The blonde slid into their favorite booth, Abby already waiting, cigarette in hand and coffee untouched in front of her.
“I did it again,” Carol admitted, blushing as she sat. She slid Abby’s coffee in front of her as Abby rolled her eyes, but allowed her to take a sip, offering her a drag of her own cigarette next.
“If you would just go ahead and get it over with, the next time it happens, it wouldn’t be a mistake. You’re going to get caught, nitwit.”
“I can’t help it, Abby,” Carol sighed dreamily. “I love her. I want her to be mine. My everything. My always. My—“
“We get it,” Abby huffed, but she was smiling. Truly proud of and happy for her friend. “But you need to actually propose first. You can’t just declare her as your wife you know.”
“I can hardly sit still,” Carol whined. “Do you have it? Let me see it again.”
“No, I forgot it,” Abby rolled her eyes. “And what? You think the setting will change? The band will turn from gold to silver? It looks the same as when you bought it and every time you’ve looked at it after that.”
“Abby,” Carol exhaled. “Give it.”
“Here,” the other woman sighed, pressing the green velvet box into Carol’s waiting hand.
Carol shifted the small box from one hand to the other. Peeking into it carefully like something might pop out and bite her.
“She will say yes, won’t she?” Carol asked.
“Of course,” Abby promised. “I have no doubt.”
As planned, an antsy Carol helped Abby around town as she did some last minute Christmas shopping, the box feeling heavy in her coat pocket, burning a hole in the material. She wanted Therese to see it. She needed to see her face. Needed to see it on her dainty little hand.
After what felt like eons, Abby declared it was lunch time and Carol was ready to book it back ti the furniture shop, almost forgetting the lunch she was bringing as her ploy for dropping by.
“Carol!” Abby called out, propping her sunglasses on her forehead. “I’m so happy for you. Both of you.”
“She hasn’t said yes, yet!” Carol threw back, her hands clammy with anxiety and excitement.
“She’s never been able to say no to you,” Abby smiled. “Go get your girl.”
Carol took a deep breath as she opened the door to the shop, the bells chiming softly overhead as she entered. Therese was leaning against the front counter, elbows on the glass, busy doodling something in the margins of the receipt notebook.
“I was wondering if you might help me with something,” Carol smiled shyly, approaching Therese as the brunette raised her face to meet Carol’s own.
“Very funny,” Therese laughed. “Looking for a doll? I’m afraid we’re all out. Bright Betsy, was it?”
“I had something else in mind actually,” Carol waved her hand. She dug through her purse, acting like she was looking for her cigarettes.
“I won’t bother telling you that you’re not supposed to smoke in here since, you know, this is your own store and all,” the brunette grinned. “Did you bring me lunch at least before you light up?”
“Hold these for me for a moment, won’t you darling?” Carol asked, slipping off her gloves and putting them down on the counter. She rummaged through her purse again, using the activity to take a deep breath and steady herself before she put the small velvet box on top of the gloves.
“Um. Carol.”
“Left it too long,” the blonde smiled, eyes practically glowing. “Go ahead. I’d love to know what you think.”
“Carol, I—“
“Therese Belivet,” Carol murmured, her voice deep velvet. “What do you do on Sundays?”
Therese was staring at her blankly with wide eyes as the blonde opened the velvet box for her, the simple but stunning diamond ring glimmering between them. “I thought perhaps, you might like to marry me?”

It's so hard to find good lesbian books. I'm starting to think that I might just have to accept mostly not reading them. There's the industry romance fiction, which lacks interesting characters. The YA scifi fantasy, which is usually poorly written instalove. (Gideon at least is a slow burn but dear god the Homestuck writing style.) And then there's the literary fiction, which either doesn't focus much on the lesbian relationship or treats lesbian attraction as a mark of abjection and insanity. Fanfiction is also hard to find because I dislike most big femslash fandoms, but there is at least the fairytales like Cinderella and Sleeping Beauty and The Devil Wears Prada. The last lesbian book I really enjoyed was Our Wives Under the Sea, which I'd say is literary horror. It's such an intimate look at a marriage and all the little moments that make up its identity. Then you get to watch that marriage fall apart. You're completely gripped with dread. Before that I would say my favorite was Otherside Picnic, a horror light novel series. It isn't very scary but has really fun adventure and dysfunctional relationship development. Some of the adult scifi fantasy with lesbians are quite good, like Texicaalan and She Who Became the Sun, but there romance is extremely not the focus. They're more enjoyable for seeing morally grey and powerful women. I think next I'll probably try the vintage literary fiction like The Price of Salt and Sweet Days of Discipline.

I finally posted the first chapter of my Tyrion-centric post-season 8 fanfic on AO3. The story is about Tyrion coming to terms with his faults and his hand in Daenerys' death. There are going to be many twists and turns along the way, and there are some surprising and not-so-surprising villains.
“It has been seven years since Bran the Broken was named Lord of the Six Kingdoms, and Tyrion Lannister has rebuilt the realm, bringing forth peace and change. However, tensions with the independent Kingdom of the North and the Lords Paramount endanger the prosperity created by the Lannister lord’s Handship, as does the Hand’s own instability—for he dreams of those he has lost. What is real and what is not?”
If you like what you read, take a detour to my Patreon, where you'll find six (!) more chapters, as well as several other stories set in the wondrous World of Westeros and A Song of Ice and Fire universes.
Take a special look if you enjoy Daemyra, are Team Black, Team Targ and Team Dany, or just really like the Mother of Dragons and the Halfman, and the Rogue Prince and the Realm's Delight.
For only $10 +VAT/month, you'll get access to everything. No tier structures, instead only one type of membership and thus one price for all (excl. minor differences in exchange rate).

Hi! 21, 39, 42 and 67 for the ask game, if you're still doing it 🥰
HEYYYY How are you? Thank you for asking!! I wrote a bunch so it’s all under the read more.
For folks who want to play or reblog, here’s the link!
21. Would you ever collaborate with another writer for a story?
YES. RESOUNDING YES. 1) As long as we keep the scope small (at least the first time 2) and we don’t have a huge looming deadline. I’m happy to do alternating chapters, writing multi-pov or “owning” certain character perspectives, w/e. My strengths are probably planning and revision… and also interactive fiction ;)
For what it’s worth, my longest story ever was a 200 page cw-style drama styled drama I wrote with a friend over 2 years. SO MUCH FUN!
I also think I'm a decent beta!

39. Share a snippet from a WIP
This is so far in the future for BITW, but it’s just sassy enough to get me excited. Gianna's started an illegal gambling den in Autumn because our girl is going to lose her mind a bit. Warning: very WIP
Gianna won the hand and scooped her winnings towards her, earning groans from the males at her table. She smirked and called for another round to begin ignoring Eris approaching her from the other side of the den.  "Of course you're behind this, Gianna," Eris said, his voice cutting through the air, brows raised accusingly. She looked up to find him standing over her, red hair and amber eyes gleaming in the dim faelight of the establishment. He donned a sly grin as he leaned casually on the table. “What’s next? You’ll be opening a brothel?”  "Should I?" she replied, matching the intensity of his stare. "I hear your brothers have quite the appetite."
--
42. What’s the last fic you read? Do you recommend it?
Oh my gosh. It’s been a HOT minute since I’ve read fanfiction. I have a bunch of Azris stuff lined up to read, but I’ve been mostly reading IRL books at the moment. I’m currently reading While Justice Sleeps by Stacey Abrams and I’m debating either rereading Empress of Salt and Fortune or starting The Foxglove King.
According to my history, the last thing I read was this: The Asking Price by TheLonelyBarricade. I absolutely recommend it if you’re an Azris fan.
--
67. Do you prefer prompts and challenges, or completely independent ideas?
I want to be a prompt/challenge writer so badly, but 90% of the prompts I see are romantic/smutty and I’m just not that confident in my ability to pull off that kind of writing. I’m thinking it might be fun to do a couple of kinky things for Kinktober, but I may chicken out. HM
