I was thinking earlier… I reckon a much more interesting way of doing the blood of the faceless ones thing, instead of just making Valkyrie even more unbelievably… special, is if the person with the high concentration of Faceless Ones blood had been China.

Like… it’s been a while since I read the books and I don’t have them on me atm so I can’t quote specifically, but mid phase 1 China is going through her family crypt and reflecting how her grandmother used to tell them all that their family knew that they were different, that when the Faceless Ones returned they wouldn’t be overtaken by them. China sniffs at the conceit.

But what if that was because they are actually strongly descended from the Faceless Ones themselves? It would have been interesting I think, and could have posed an interesting conflict between her and Valkyrie’s respective bloodlines. Plus we could have had some actual meaningful China content. Idk.

I'm not even sure I fully understand what happened at the end of that wwwo episode. I was too busy trying to picture the massive lionfish-whale-thing with no face. The marine science kid in me was so excited I blue screened. But also that kid and me sorta just assumed it was shady yeah? As soon as they showed us coral wands I went "aw man are you harvesting the reefs that's not cool dude". But now there's a CREATURE. I think I'm more curious what will happen to these fucks than I am that thing. That thing has to be some Honored Friend kinda shit right? It's too majestic to not be ancient and powerful. Or maybe totally insane creatures is the norm for this world. Idk. The hope is they try to touch it now that it's captured, and it turns them to stalks of screaming coral. The image of a coral that looks a little too much like a tormented person is very clear in my mind. Much clearer than whatever the fuck this thing is because OH MY GODDD
