rewatching the eternals after seeing in the cinema just hits different because of unapologetic use of hindi and arabic was just magical to me and how you genuinely feel the affection between the characters because even when they haven't talked in ages or were even mad at each other. .. they still loved each other as family and the way you could feel the kinship between sersi and phastos, the way kingo loves and cares about sprite and was the only who noticed her feelings ikaris, gilgamesh love and trust for thena and the way ajax loved all of them so deeply and her love for thena is particular and saying nothing could happen for her to change that love .... but also the complicated relationship they have with humans ... i just love this movie so much 😭😭😭

My 33 answers below!
1.      What baseball positions would your OCs be in if they all had to be on a baseball team? What’s the team name? What’s their mascot? What do the uniforms look like? (If you hate baseball or prefer a different sport, substitute said sport for baseball.)
Well, considering Park is literally on a baseball team, I think I’ll answer this one for him. He’s a pitcher for the North Carolina Sabretooth Cats, and if you can’t tell their mascot from that, then I don’t know what to tell you. Their uniform colors are white, gold, and black.
2.      How good are your OCs at bowling? How good are you at bowling?
I, personally, suck at bowling. I’ve never been good at it, but I still have fun!
Before Hayden was on crutches, he was the bowling master. It’s harder for him to bowl now that he can’t really balance by himself, or hold a ball at the same time as he holds his crutches.
Park is also really great at bowling, something that Jamie (bad at bowling) will never forgive him for.
If bowling existed for Teconia, she would try her best, but not succeed. Xinya would be almost good. The occasional strike. Yu-Qi would attempt to chuck the bowling ball like a softball because it Made Her Lose.
3.      Rewrite this in your style: “I picked up the book and read the back. He took it from me before I could protest. He never lets me have the cool stuff.
I took the book of the shelf and flipped it over to read the back, but I couldn’t get a single word in before he snatched it out of my hands. I pouted – he never lets me have the cool stuff.
4.      What do you love about the last book you read?
The last book I read is called Policing the Black Man, a collection of essays edited by Angela J. Davis. I’m telling you this because you should read it. It’s not an easy read, and I’ve had to take several breaks from it because it’s very heavy, but it’s an eye-opening look at how race and law enforcement interact in America. It reinforced a lot of the things I already knew (the police are an institution founded on racism), but it’s teaching me so much more about why that is, and how we can fix it in the future. Highly recommended – especially if you’re white.
5.      What are three things you love about your writing?
I really love my descriptions, character interactions, and settings.
6.      What’s a word you love the sound of? What’s a word you really don’t like the sound of?
I have an entire list of words that I love, but I’ll pick my top three: Vivaciousness, Gossamer, and Facetious.
My least favorite word is flesh. I hate that word so much.
7.      How do you like to begin your stories?
It depends on the story. Usually I like to jump into the action, to give the reader something to latch onto as soon as possible, and to get them to form questions at the same time.
8.      What other forms of writing have you tried other than the one you’re working with now? (i.e. playwriting, screenwriting, poetry, interactive, novels, short fiction. etc.) How do you feel about them?
I’ve been writing a game! It’s been a super huge blast, and even though I know neither jack nor shit about coding, the program I’m using makes it very easy to write games without any coding. Use Twine! It’s the best!
Once I graduate (in June!!), I want to finish the game and upload it somewhere so I can get people playing it. Stay tuned for that!
9.      What’s your favorite play/musical? Why? What’s your favorite part?
OH NO, I HAVE TO PICK ONE? Okay fine, it’s Chicago. I absolutely adore that musical, mostly because I love jazz. But also because the dark humor, satire, and well-rounded and unique women are top notch. I had the privilege of seeing it on Broadway in 2017, and I cannot recommend it enough.
10.  What kind of stories do you like to read? How different are they from what you write?
Honestly, not much different at all. I read a lot of fantasy, sci-fi, and poetry – I write a lot of fantasy, sci-fi, and poetry. The only thing I write, but don’t read, is suspense/horror-ish stuff. Which sounds weird, but I listen to Welcome to Night Vale, which is about as much horror as I can handle.
11.  What’s your favorite bit of worldbuilding from a story someone else wrote?
I’m a huge Tolkien nerd, and the whole concept of two trees that give light to the whole world is the best idea.
12.  If you had to change the genre of your WIP, what would you change it to?
Oh man, this is a tough one. I think the easiest one would be changing Firesoul from fantasy to steampunk-fantasy, a la Perdido Street Station by China Miéville, but I’m not sure if that counts. The idea of an urban fantasy God-Dragon’s Wife is interesting, too.
13.  What’s your favorite writing POV? First person? Third person limited? One or multiple POV’s?
I prefer Third Person Omniscient or Third Person Limited, but I will (very rarely) write in First Person, and even a little Second Person.
14.  Have you thought of a title for your WIP? How did you pick it?
All my WIPs have titles, but the one that was hardest was Out of the Park, because it’s way too cliché and I only picked it because I needed something to call the project.
15.  How easy is it for you to come up with outfits for your OCs?
Depends on the character. Xinya is the hardest, because all of her outfits have to be super elaborate and have to fit in with her culture, but Hayden? Jeans and a t-shirt. Easy.
16.  Who is the oldest OC in your WIP? (Either in-universe or when you made them.)
In-universe, Xinya is the oldest human at thirty-three. Yu-Qi easily surpasses that by like ten thousand years, but she’s an eternal dragon deity, so.
In real life, Teconia is the oldest. Believe it or not, I made her for my first D&D campaign, and then decided I liked her so much I would make a whole story about her.
17.  Have you ever written fanfiction (even if it wasn’t posted online?)
Yes! I write a lot of fan fiction, and though most of it hasn’t left my flash drive, I have an AO3 account, with a couple of works-in-progress. Come say hello!
18.  What are your OC’s favorite colors? (List as many or as few as you want)
Teconia: bright orange, green, red
Xinya: dark blue, silver, light pink
Hayden: purple, yellow, lime green
Park: grass green, rusty red-brown, gold
19.  What is the most significant/important/often-appearing object in your WIP? Or, what is one object that one of your OCs cherishes?
D…dragons. In almost all of them, it’s dragons. Can you tell that I like dragons?
20.  What’s that one word that you can never seem to spell correctly?
This isn’t really a spelling thing, but I will never ever remember the difference between affect and effect. I’ve had it explained to me countless times, but I will never get it. I’ll be confused for the rest of my life.
21.  Which arc do you like better/think is more interesting: a hero who starts slowly slipping into evil, or a villain who decides to try to be good?
I think both have their perks, but the villain that tries to do good has a special place in my heart because it shows that people can change, which is a dose of positivity that I think we all need right now.
22.  Do you have any minor characters that are trying very, very hard to become one of the mains?
You know, I thought Yu-Qi would be happy staying the love interest. But now she wants to be a co-protagonist with Xinya. That’s what I get for making her literally a god.
23.  Weirdest thing you’ve been inspired by?
I read a fan fiction once, and I thought, “Psh. I could write that better.”
And now I have The God-Dragon’s Wife.
24.  Which character is closest to a self-insert?
In a way, all of my characters have some aspect of me in them, or some kind of trait I wish I had. Teconia has my kindness – the kindness that’s probably too nice. Park has the confidence I wish I had a lot of the time, but also the fear that I’ll never be good enough. I gave Hayden my anxiety (sorry), but also the determination to push through it that I need. Xinya is pleasant in polite company, but behind closed doors she’s a very angry character, which is something that I’ve been dealing with lately.
I guess I just don’t like the term “self-insert,” because all of my characters are me as much as they’re their own characters. They can be both.
25.  Favorite season?
I’m assuming you mean my favorite season. It’s summer.
26.  Do you eat appetizers when you go out to eat?
Short answer: Yes
Long answer: If they serve mozzarella sticks, you bet your ass I will eat every single one of those fuckers unless someone holds me back. Also, if you try and separate me from gyoza, you will have your arms separated from your body.
27.  What is something you’re scared to write about?
Romance. I don’t know why, but I always feel like it comes off very stiff and impersonal when I write it, so I’ve been avoiding it for a long time.
28.  Favorite fantasy book series? (I need recommendations ;))
The. Inheritance. Cycle. Ho-lee shit, I have been talking about this series since I was in first grade, and I will never shut up. The first book is Eragon by Christopher Paolini. If you read it (or if anyone reading this has read it before) feel free to drop in and scream at me. I’m always ready.
29.  The most you’ve ever written at one time?
I don’t remember, actually! I think it might have been… when I wrote 8k words in a day?
30.  When do you like to write?
Whenever I can, but mostly at night. Which is not doing my sleeping schedule any favors, I’ll tell you that.
31.  Why is coming up with questions the most difficult part?
Good question. I have no idea.
32.  Which character would cry over a marvel movie?
Teconia, for sure.
33.  First character you created. Why?
My first character was a girl who had the werewolf-esque ability to turn into a dragon. She was pretty much my ideal self.

I love the honeybuns, Twinkies, those little chocolate cupcakes... and really just most things lkdjalksdjwoe. Do you/your family buy loaf from the bakery or bagged on the shelf? Bagged. Probably the last time I was uploading pictures from my old phone; it's the one I take the once-a-year selfie because the Samsung camera is ACTUAL trash. Do you “binge-watch” TV shows? "Because of the dogs," according to her husband, but I don't believe that. Are you a forgiving person? I'm way too forgiving. Do you have a brother? Yes. Have you ever had a dream of stabbing someone? WHOA actually I think I semi-recently had a nightmare of me going ham stabbing someone for some reason I don't remember. Omfg I just remembered something with my older sister; when she was little, Barney was her "boyfriend." She was "talking on the phone" with him once, and when Mom interrupted her, she scoffed and said, "I'm talking to Barney." And then Ash and Barney had an ACTUAL "ceremony" for a divorce. That's a thing that happened. What’s the capital of state, country, or providence you live in? Raleigh. When you open your web browser, what is your home page set to? Why did you select this? Google. I think it was automatically set. Would you allow a camera crew to follow you around and make a reality series out of your life (no matter how boring it is) if you got paid well? Why? No. I'd get so fucking annoyed, I'd feel under constant scrutiny, and I don't want fame. If your car broke down would you call a friend or family member to pick you up or would you call AAA (or something like it)? I'd call my mom and listen to her on what to do from there. Do you put a lot of thought into the gifts you buy for people? YEAH. It's rare I actually have my own money to buy gifts for anyone, so when I can, I think hard. On an average day do your thoughts tend to be more positive or negative? Negative, I think. Do you ever trust anyone else to drive your car? If you don’t have a car, do your friends and family ever allow you to drive their vehicles? I don't have my own, but Mom lets me drive hers. Name at least one thing you like about each season. Winter: SNOW. Spring: Flowers!! Summer: swimming. Autumn: visuals. What amount of time do you think is perfect for a vacation? I guess a week?

Winter 2010
The teenagers scrambled about dragging their luggage from the carriages giving one another a hand, as the train let out a whistle, white smoke filling the air. The sun had just risen, peaking between the tiny gaps of the ceiling structures.
Hoseok jumped onto the platform swinging his backpack onto one of his shoulders, feeling the cold air around him. His friends had gotten off the moment the train stopped at their destination and were running around the platform excitedly. Hoseok simply laughed watching them, much more relaxed, just taking in his surroundings. Switzerland had been one of the few places he had been dying to see. Looking at the sign ‘Gimmelwald’ carved like an arc over the exit sign he mentally ticked this task off his bucket list.
But standing here could only made him recollect all the instances his family made plans for vacations, promising a good time only for his parents bail out because work was more important than family. Though he was here on a school trip with all of his classmates and most importantly his closest friends, he couldn’t help but wish Mia was here too. She was in a different school and a different country all together so obviously she couldn’t join him, but if only she was here, he could have pulled her leg around a little bit to distract his mind. Her presence was important for him not just because he had fun teasing her but because she was also the only person who understood him the way no one else could, the only one he shared all his dreams with. Hoseok couldn’t imagine opening up the way he did to his best friend to anyone else.
But he knew she would have barely survived here because the silly girl cannot stand the cold and he chuckled imagining her shivering furiously. She absolutely detested the idea of the skiing trip he was here for when he told her about it a few days back. He didn’t let her disinterest deter him and was determined to enjoy this trip to the fullest. A trip he didn’t know would change his life.
He was just about to walk towards the voices calling out to him, when he heard an “Oh!”, watching from the corner of his eye a somebody tripping on the gap between the train and the platform. Impulsively, he turned towards her, grabbing her by the waist a little too late and a little too clumsily as she knocked him over, sending the both of them to meet the platform with a thud. He groaned, as her weight shifted uncomfortably on top of him, making him grab her the wrist of her hand that had held onto his shoulders as they fell, with the arm that was not wrapped around her to stop her from moving and crushing him further. She looked at him wide eyed, blinking rapidly behind her glasses, her straight hair draped over her neck, as she opened her mouth to say something, the sunlight reflecting on the metal of her braces. Hoseok felt his eyes dart over features, taking in every detail he had only seen from far away all these years. Her sharp nose, those thin lips, the way her tongue licked them softly, her-
Two strong hands had grabbed her by her sides hoisting her up, breaking the little-too-long eye contact they shared, as she stood upright with the help of the brown haired boy.
“Hobi.” Jungkook offered his hand pulling him up as he gripped it and brushed the dust off his pants.
“Are you okay?” Jungkook turned to her as she nodded softly, pulling her jacket closer to her in the cold. “Thanks Bro”
Hoseok bumped the fist the other boy held out casually after which he led her away, his hand softly placed on her back. But just before they disappeared into the crowd, she turned looking over her shoulder at Hoseok, who did nothing but watch.
Winter 2016
Hoseok couldn’t believe he hadn’t recognized her.
Sure it had been 6 years and yes he had talked to her hardly a handful of times but how bad did his memory have to be to not recognize a girl who had been in his class for nearly all of middle school and high school. He couldn’t be blamed though. How was he to know that the woman he just met was the same shy girl who used to sit all the way in the front of the class, who never attended any parties or clubs, never tried to make conversations with anyone and was one of the only girls Hoseok had never tried his charms on. Of course she was pretty and of course he had noticed her. All a Hoseok needed to notice someone was for her to be a girl and she, was a specially interesting one. There were times as he saw her walk across the canteen when he couldn’t help but think how fun it would be to spoil someone as innocent as her. The kind of things he could introduce her to and teach her were countless and the mere thought used to excite him.
But every time he looked at her he looked away because of that muscle pig Jeon Jungkook, who never left her alone. Thank god boys and girls had different washrooms. It was the one place perhaps she could get rid of him. But she never seemed to mind his company and in fact, it almost looked like she felt safer with his overprotective nature. Hoseok could understand why Jungkook was so careful about her, literally glaring at anyone who as much as looked at her for more than a minute accidentally. He felt responsible for protecting her. As far as Hoseok had heard, she had shifted from overseas after grade 8 and as childhood friends, the only people she had ever known were Kate and Jungkook. Being thrown into such the foreign environment of a new country overnight must have been hard on her.
So Hoseok had maintained his distance because one, he didn’t want to get beaten up by her best friend and two, there was something beautiful about her simplicity that Hoseok liked watching from time to time, ignoring everything about his messed up world. He had often just stared at her as she scribbled away also those exhaustive literature notes, adjusting her glasses on the bridge of her nose, tucking her hair behind her ear. It was so hard to believe that that meek girl was the one who had just played along with him so confidently.
Hoseok walked up to Jin who called out for him for the group photo as he looked at her talking to Mia who seemed much happier with her presence. The relationship Hoseok had shared with Mia was much like Jungkook and Y/N’s but he had been so incredibly unfair to her last few years when he left, depriving her of one her best friends when she needed him the most. He felt happy to see that she found solace in Y/N in his absence but it only increased his guilt. Even though he left unannounced 6 years back and turned up unannounced few months ago, she forgave him so simply, hugging him for eternity just rubbing his back. “It’s okay you are back and you are fine and that’s all that matters.”
Jin threw an arm around Hoseok whose eyes were trained on the Y/N and the way she laughed, the strands leaving her updo falling down to her spotless neck that Hoseok so badly wanted to mark.
“Do you want me to guess what you are thinking about?”
“No thanks.”
“How nice.”
“You probably won’t have something nice to say.”
“Is this how poorly you think about me Hobi?” Jin sighed sadly making Hoseok roll his eyes. There were other things he wanted to talk about.
“You know I didn’t realize till 5 minutes ago that she was the Y/n of our class She seems so…”
“Different?” Hoseok nodded. “I know. I was equally shocked when I met her 3 years ago.”
“At least you recognized her.”
Jin looked at Hoseok sheepishly. “No. Mia introduced me to her a few weeks after we started..uh…dating. I only knew her as Mia’s cousin till one day while we were hanging out Jungkook came along and then I realized who she was. She knew who I was all along but she kept quiet thinking I wouldn’t remember her anyway.”
“Well she was right.”
“I barely even remember half the people here today Hobi, most of whom I have had conversations with countless number of times. And I don’t remember even talking to y/n ever. Besides she changed way too much to realize who she was. Not just by looks, her personality. She really is a great person to have a conversation with you know.”
“I know.” Hoseok smiled
“Namjoon remembered her though can you believe it?”
“With the sort of intelligence he has? Yeah.”
“And so did Jimin and Yoongi for some reason. I kind of felt guilty that I was the only one who didn’t. I would have had your company in this guilt had you not left us all.”
Hoseok stiffened. He hated this conversation. Jin knew it yet he kept bringing it up, trying to get him to talk about it. Hoseok looked at him. Please not today Jin. He understood.
“Point is, we became really close to her over the last 3 years and we did hang out a lot with her till she shifted to Oakland with Jungkook.”
“She still hangs out with him?” Hoseok felt a bitter taste in his mouth for some reason.
“Of course she does. But I don’t think it’s the, childhood-best-friend-who-deny-being-in-love type of relationship. They just……get each other well. In fact I think Kate is the one going after Jungkook. Like seriously I get the three of them are thick friends since they wore diapers but she just won’t stop talking about him. It’s kind of cute actually.”
“Ew.” Hoseok scrunched his nose. “Look at you. You haven’t even gotten married yet and you have already started to become so fluffy.”
Jin laughed making his famous window wiping sounds. “Can’t help it Hoseok. You’ll know when you will fall in love.”
“You know I won’t.”
“You will if you let yourself.”
Hoseok shut his eyes and let out a long breath. “I don’t want to talk about this Jin. Haven’t I made myself clear enough the last few months?”
“Yes you have but you need to talk it out Hobi. 6 years is not a short amount of time for someone to be so imprisoned by things that they-”
“Enough.” Hoseok’s voice went threateningly low as he removed Jin’s arm from around him and turned, walking away.
“Excuse me, sorry to disturb you but have you seen Hobi?”
Kate turned around to see an unknown girl. dressed in the kind of clothes whose presence or absence on her body would hardly make a difference, twirling her hair, blowing a pink bubblegum. She exchanged looks with the other three woman around her before replying,
“and why are you looking for him?”
The other woman scoffed, “do you know where he is or not?”
Emma narrowed her eyes, her mouth twisting in an unpleasant way, “No. We don’t.”
“never mind ill find him myself.” she tossed her hair and left rolling her eyes. Kate couldn’t help but feel a little disgust rise in her.
“I’m sure Hobi can manage to get better friends that that stuff.”
“Oh she isn’t a friend.” Mia took a sip of her drink. “Hobi knows better than to associate himself with such people.”
“She’s his arrangement for the night I see.” Emma shook her head. “I hoped he would at least control himself during these few weeks. Calling someone from outside, really?”
“Something upset him.” Mia clicked her glass with her nails, deep in thought. “The fact that he chose to call someone and not manage with the huge crowd of extremely good looking women we are entertaining here means he needs doesn’t want to spend time flattering someone, which of course means something is bothering him.”
Kate looked at her blinking. “i don’t know whether to be impressed that you know such details about him or creeped out that you know such intimate details about him.”
Emma and Mia laughed. “Hoseok is pretty easy to understand. You just need time and patience and you will know him better on your own. Problem is, he rarely sticks with a person till they get to know him better and so people tend to judge him too soon. He isn’t what he seems like.” Emma said watching Y/n’s face as she seemed lost in her thoughts.
“what are you thinking about y/n?”
“Her voice didn’t sound like the one on the phone call. That means two girls in less than 4 hours? If he is upset like you said, whatever happened must have been serious.”
The other three women looked at her confused as she shook her head. “It doesn’t matter guys. Point is just let him be, let him do what he wants. Everyone has their own way dealing with things that upset them, their own way of dealing with pain. If this is what makes Hoseok feel better then we are no one to judge him.”
Emma smiled at that. Women generally had two reactions to Hoseok’s nature. Either they avoided him because they were the true-love types, waiting for their married happily ever after, or they slept with him because they were the sleeping around types, looking at him as no more than a quick fuck like he looked at them. Never had she come across someone who didn’t arrive at any conclusions and tried to see beyond her brothers actions and into his intentions. She was liking y/n more and more as time passed.
Jin walked up to the DJ, borrowing a mike and tapped it, the loud noise resounding in the night.
“Testing..testing. Can you hear me? Okay good.” He took a deep breath and looked at everyone gathered around the pool.
“Hey everyone. I see you guys are done with dinner without drinks so I would like to first apologize that there is no alcohol today. I know a celebration means drinking for you guys but come on, no one wants to look wasted in my wedding album right?” A couple of people snickered around. “So as compensation, there is a cocktail party tomorrow with some of the craziest drinks and entertainment waiting for you, thanks to Namjoon, who I owe my life to.” He raised his glass at the purple haired man who smiled as the crowd cheered.
“And thank you all as well for coming for this reunion and most importantly our wedding. A wedding is more than just the union of two people. It’s a celebration that brings any and all relationships together and what better relationships can be revived than the ones in our childhood. I hope as we all grow and look back on this one month we have the happiest memories of our lives yeah?” The crowd screamed, raising their glasses and drowning the liquids down their throats.
“There was also something else I have been wanting to say. I know my wedding is the first of the 143 of us here and so I think it’s my responsibility to say this. We all are young, with a lot of life ahead of us. So many of you came to me and asked why I was getting married at such a young age. To be honest guys, its because I am not afraid. Someone told me this few years ago, we are not afraid of loving someone, we are afraid of not being loved back. Most of us grew up in a society where relationships are very superficial and toxic. But that shouldn’t make you afraid of relationships or commitments. Marriage is less about the vows you make and more about keeping them. I am lucky enough to find someone who I trust to keep them and the day you all do too, don’t hesitate to choose that person as the one you want to spend your life with with the fear that the relationship may not work. It will. Trust each other and it will. And just so you know I am saying this only so you all invite me to your weddings, I didn’t empty my wallet on all of you for no reason okay. I’m expecting good food and a seven star hotel from each one of you!” He joked sending everyone into loud laughters. Only Kate, Emma and Y/n could see that the only one not smiling was Mia.
As much as you enjoyed the party, you were glad to be away from all that noise. Over the years you had habituated yourself to such social gatherings but it still made you uncomfortable after a while. You stripped out of your dress and sat in the bath tub letting the warm water wash over you. The lavender’s smell from the bath bomb over took the smell of the air freshener in your room as you slid further in the water, closing your eyes letting your head rest back.
It was nearly half past 10 and sleep was so foreign to you. Sydney. Your once favorite city. The place you lived the first many years of your life till you escaped this hell to Seoul to live with your grandmother. The city was still fine but that house, that house in which you lived nearly like a prisoner only ever going out when your parents needed to show off their obedient daughter to their large social circles, you couldn’t bear to go back to that jail again. Mia knew you had a house here and even asked if you wanted to stay there which you flat out refused. Only Jungkook and Kate knew about your hatred for that place. You would have sold it if only you had the courage to go there and do all the formalities. Despite how much more braver you had become the last 6 years, this was a fear you could never conquer. Once Jungkook comes tomorrow you made up your mind to talk to him so he could over see the selling.
About 15 minutes later before your whole body became a prune you got out of the bathroom and covered yourself in a silky nightgown. As you put it on you couldn’t help but remember Hoseok asking you to find him if you didn’t get sleep. It was only now that you realised how stupid you were to even let yourself be flustered by that. All talk. That’s what he was. A man who would talk to get things done for him, a man for whom a relationship was confined to a bed, a man you should stay away from. You didn’t find his lifestyle triggering you in any way, neither did you find it displeasing. It just wasn’t your cup of tea and you were going to make it clear to him first thing you saw him next that as much as you respected his choices, you wanted him to keep his distance from you and respect your boundaries. Having flirty conversations was one thing and letting it affect you was another. You always had a weirdly soft spot for Hoseok, your childhood crush, and you couldn’t let that mingle with the way he was talking to you into thinking he meant something more. Today’s incidents made you understand one thing clearly. One could only ever get into Hoseok’s bed not into his head.
Standing by the balcony you looked down at the pool, the still light blue water inviting you. You gave into it, anyway not getting any sleep as you grabbed your room card, your laptop and your drawing book, walking out into the lift and went 5 stories down. If only you hadn’t taken a bath, it would have been nice to take a late night swim in the cold waters. You walked to the pool, carefully gripping the things in your hand and ran your foot lightly against the still surface, creating ripples, enjoying the sensation. It was funny how one touch could disturb the entire surface of water. People were like that too. People could affect you in ways you can never imagine.
You sat by the poolside on the table looking at the sky as you opened your laptop. Countless stars are always better than city lights - If only you could see them. Checking your mail, you cursed your boss for the extra work he dumped on you during vacation. The new building designs had to be changed again, after all that was the never ending work of an architect. You flipped open your drawing book in irritation nearly knocking over the vase of forget-me-not flowers on the table, revealing an object that it was placed among the flowers..
A wallet.
Reaching for it, you pulled it towards yourself when something else that seemed almost silvery fell out of it. A square foil packet that was nothing you hadn’t seen before, yet made you flushed a little bit. The sound of the trashcan tumbling caused you to turn suddenly to see about 100 meters away from you, Hoseok who had just gotten off the lift walked right into the dustbin in his urgency. Why was he out so late at night? Could this…? You quickly opened the wallet and the first thing your eyes fell on was the driving license and the name Jung Hoseok.
You looked at the packet in your hand, remembering all the times he caused you to be embarrassed and quickly pushed the packet under your laptop, before placing the wallet where it was and looked through your building designs like nothing happened. Hardly few seconds passed when you heard his footsteps as Hoseok walked up to the tables next to you, checking each of the vases for his wallet. You stifled a laugh trying to imagine his reaction as he walked up to your table and finally found it. Grabbing his wallet, he shot you an embarrassed smile and said something that sounded like a hello and began walking away.
3…..2….1...and the sound of his footsteps suddenly stopped. He must’ve noticed.
And suddenly he was next to you again, his eyes wandering all over the table and below it intensely searching for what was missing from his wallet. It must have been what he came here for and you just couldn’t waste the opportunity.
“Are you looking for something?” neutral expression? check. Slightly concerned voice? check. Acting? on point.
“Yeah um a friend.” he wouldn’t even make eye contact.
“Under the table?” it took a lot to stop yourself from laughing at his embarrassed face.
“Yeah i mean, he is small…” his voice slowly trailing off. “I’m going to go look the other side.” You nodded as he left walking from behind you trying to hide the obvious tent in this pant making you lift your book to your face level to cover your laughter at his desperation. He walked back to you squinting in your direction. Shit did he see you laugh?
“What are you doing?” He asked cocking his head to the side.
“reading….” you said slowly looking everywhere but his face.
“Upside down?” The inner you smacked her head on the inside.
“I was looking at the design um from different angles.” His suspicion didn’t go. “I could help you look for this friend if you can tell me more about him or her or it or whatever.”
He shook his head grimly. “I’ll manage its okay.” And he turned to walk away. What a stubborn guy. Can’t he just ask? It wasn’t like you had no idea.
“Out of curiosity, Is this friend of yours, um super protective and by chance, believes in the idea of small families?” You looked at him with your eyebrows up and little bit of a playful expression on your face, as he turned back to you . Hoseok caught your eye and then bit his lip to suppress the smile that lied between flustered and desperate from forming on his face. He knew you figured out who or rather what this ‘friend’ of his was.
“Can I have it back?” He spoke through his gritted teeth not too rudely.
“What? Oh your friend? What’s his name again? Oh yeah! I think you said it started with C or something?”
Hoseok ran his hands through his hair and was now looking around, smiling too wide in his embarrassment.
“Charlie? Or was it Chang? Oh no I think it was Charmander~.” Hoseok burst out laughing now. He had clearly not been expecting this.
“Come on Y/n. I can’t believe you made me laugh in this situation. Don’t kill my mood anymore. Give it.” He held out his hand, the embarrassed smile not leaving his face. .
You clicked your tongue  “Someone is forgetting to say please”
“Can I have it back? Please~?” You pitied him and the tightness in his pants that he was losing because of you and reached out for the foil under your laptop.
“Oh look I found your friend.”
Hoseok smoothly whisked it from your hands, muttered something you didn’t understand and began to walk away.
“Have fun!” You called out to him as he walked faster and faster away, and laughed getting a light feeling inside you that you hadn’t felt in this city for years.
Jungkook stood in the lobby of the hotel with Hoseok chatting away as he waited for his room key. He was talking to the other man but his eyes were scanning the hotel crowd looking for her. He had sent her a message when he landed and she had seen it. Was she okay? Being in Sydney after so many years after all that happened was she fine? Where was she? These were the only things going through his head. He felt bad for changing plans in the last minute, hence being unable to come with her. He could only imagine the thoughts in her head during the long flight. it must have been hard on her.
“Kookie!” A voice called out from far away as she walked towards him quickly, allowing him to breath a sigh of relief before she flung her arms around him and he held on to her tight. She seemed fine. It had only been two days since he hadn’t seen her yet he kept worrying so much. She only had him and Kate in this large world to call family. He couldn’t let her down in anyway. Hoseok cleared his throat obviously.
The two of them left each other as Hoseok handed Jungkook the keys. “you should freshen up. The cocktail party is at 7 so be there as early as you can because I don’t think Jin ordered enough drinks for the whole batch. That stuff is going to be over in a blink of  an eye..” He smiled shaking his head. “Ill see you in the evening.”
Y/n suddenly held onto Jungkook’s arm her eyes glimmering with excitement as she looked at Hoseok who was walking away. “Come on! there are so~ many things I need to tell you.” And she dragged him away as Kate walked towards them with a wide smile wrapping Jungkook in her embrace.
You walked into the party that evening with Jungkook and Kate and couldn’t help but think how different the setup was compared to yesterday. The lights were more disco types and the clothes had gone from floor length to several indecent inches above the knee and everyone was dancing together ignoring the respectable distance they were maintaining yesterday.
Jungkook and Kate immediately hit the dance floor as you stood by the cocktail tables which replaced the round ones that you sat and worked on yesterday. Grabbing a drink from the waiter you took a sip letting the alcohol burn your throat pleasantly. Emma and Namjoon walked up to you to strike a conversation about the music and Emma whispered when Namjoon turned to talk to his other friends.
“Have you seen Hobi?”
“Nope why?”
“I need to pass on a message to him from his female companion last night.”
“What does she have to say?”
“She stormed out of his room today last night when I was going to mine, screaming something about not coming.”
You shook your head sadly. “Really? Is he that bad?”
“No idiot.” She smacked your arm laughing. “He didn’t come to the room it seems. She said he left halfway through and then didn’t return, making her wait for an hour. She asked me to tell him never to call her again”
You frowned deep in thought. He was hurrying away yesterday after you both talked. Where did he go if he didn’t go back to his room? You scanned the crowd finally spotting him standing alone one of the cocktail tables gulping his drink, his eyes scanning the crowd perhaps for his next target. You excused yourself from Emma and walked towards him, grabbing a drink on the way to replace his empty one.
“I must tell you, if your wallet is under this forget me not plant right now it will be a better option to keep it in your pocket. For future use” You said handing over the glass to him which he took chuckling softly as you looking at the vase to see his wallet there once more.
“No pockets” he gestured at his pant making you run your eyes along this legs thankful for the dim lighting that he couldn’t see you turn red.
“Then don’t bring your wallet down genius. Why would you keep it among these flowers anyway?”
“Logic.” He turned to face you. “Think of it this way. I’m in my room after the party, changing my clothes and the first thing I would think of or say out loud would be ‘oh I forgot my wallet’. Forgot my wallet.” He pointed at the plant. “Forget me not. Helps me relate that way especially when I’m drunk. That’s why Jin had these plants put all over in the first place.”
You laughed your shoulders shaking. “You are kidding”
“No I’m serious.” he nodded but smiling.
“That’s the silliest thing I have ever heard Hoseok.”
He looked at you, his tongue darting over his lips. “I like it.”
“But its silly, say there were like 50 forget me not plants how will you remember which of these it is-”
“No I meant I like you saying that.” You frowned not understanding. “My name.” He explained. “Most people call me Hobi all the time. It sounds nice when you say Hoseok. Do call me that more often.”
You stared at him not knowing what to say your mouth opening and closing like a fish. “I’m sorry.” is what you blurt out. “for yesterday.”
“Never mind that. I was starting to get bored anyway.” He took a sip looking away. “It’s good she left on her own.”
“So I guess you really were left hanging huh.” You smirked gulping down your own drink.
“You seem happy about it. Were you perhaps looking for the opportunity to hold onto something?” the glint in his eyes you saw yesterday was back.
“If I really were, I would look nowhere close to you, Hoseok.”
“You should then. I might have a lot to offer. I don’t know what you have heard about me Y/n but I might not be who you think I am.”
“So then who are you Jung Hoseok?” you leaned close to him, keeping your eyes on him, playing the very game you had decided against just yesterday.
“Who do you think i am?”
“As far as I have seen a casanova? or would you prefer playboy or fuckboy?”
Hoseok leaned back amused “I prefer ‘incredibly passionate man’.”
“And you are passionate about?”
“You name it” he crossed his arms confidentially.
“Making women want to walk straight into your bed?” You knew he wasn’t expecting you to be straightforward. So that’s exactly what you gave him.
“Well Y/n, the last time i checked, you are unmistakably a woman too. Do I make you want to walk into my bed?”
Shit. This wasn’t what you was going for. The usual smirk, how close he had leaned to you right now, everything was telling you that you were was losing this. You gave him a look of absolute indifference.
“If you noticed Hoseok, it seems the situation yesterday was the exact opposite. I think I made you” you jabbed him with your finger. “ walk right out of your very bed out here to me.”
“Point well made Y/n” he added “and you are someone who can pull that off again”
“Why”
“Because you make me curious about how long it will take.”
“How long what will take?”
Hoseok licked his lips, looking hard at you.“How long it will take for you to become one of those women”
You couldn’t tell if he was playing around anymore. Whatever was in his eyes was raw. He was either a really good actor or he really…..
He pulled out a tissue and scribbled a couple of digits on it, replacing it with his wallet  in forget-me-not flower vase.
“For future use so you can let me know before hand. I have to go pokemon hunting to prepare myself.”
You leaned back confused. Well that was a sudden change of things. “Excuse me?”
“ I need to find a” he leaned in too close to whisper. “ charmander you see.”
And the two of you burst out laughing, letting the good mood and alcohol take over your bodies in the night that you knew promised so much more.
