With the window slightly down the wind played with Lorraine’s hair. Her hand resting gently on your lap. Your hands were sturdy on the steering wheel trying to pay attention to the directions. Lorraine seemed to care little for it. Simply enjoying the drive in her own little bubble. To her it felt like a dream. Wind in her hair, the radio playing a sweet song and her hand on yours.
“Lorraine can you check whether it was left or right?” – you asked her keeping your focus on the road. When Lorraine didn’t respond you called out her name. Lorraine hummed loud as if being woken up from a dream. – “Left or right?” – you asked a second time. – “Oh.” – Lorraine released her hand from your lap to reach for the map on the dashboard.
“A bit quicker love.” – you told her already haven slowed down to make sure you didn’t miss the direction. You hated being lost. Lorraine checked the map letting her finger trail the lines. – “Left!” – she called out pointing in the direction. You stepped on the gas, taking the left turn. Lorraine got pushed back in her seat with a loud huff.
She glanced your way with brief shock yet after seeing the focus in your eyes, she curled up a smile. You were still focusing on the road when you felt a touch on your chin. It made you hum confused, turning your head quick to her. Seeing her smile made you furrow your brows. – “What?” – you questioned switching your gaze from her to the road. – “Nothing… I was just reminded of how much I love you.” – She answered.
It took you a second to get it in your head before chuckling. – “You are weird Lorraine.” – you teased her. Lorraine placed her hand on your lap once more. – “And that is why you married me.” – she spoke leaning in to leave a fluttering kiss on your cheek. – “Lor I’m driving.” – you told her keeping the wheel steady.
“But do it again.” – you told her. Lorraine gave you another kiss against the cheek as you asked. Lorraine then let out loud breath, admiring the scenery. Wondering how lucky she was with you. Marrying the one that instantly believed in her.
You pulled over on the gravely path that led up to the house. The house looking ominous between a forest of trees. Lorraine and you got out at the same time. Lorraine took a deep breath looking at the house. – “Hey!” – you called out making her turn her head to you. – “You tell me when you sense something, understood!” – you made clear. Lorraine nodded with a warm smile of your protectiveness.
Lorraine and you went up to the house when you suddenly felt something at the back of your head. Like a little stone flicked at your head. – “Au.” – you said rubbing your head confused. – “What is it?” – Lorraine asked worriedly. – “Something hit my head!” – you let her know looking annoyed around. Lorraine lowered your hand to look at your head. Giving it a soft blow of her breath.
“There love. All better.” – she spoke. – “Probably some annoying kids.” – you mumbled taking her hand. With one last glare over your shoulder you went up to the house with her. As usual Lorraine and you were welcomed into the house. Asked a set of questions. Had a look around and talked to every family member separately. It being the first day, you knew you rarely had any activity if their claims were true.
Lorraine and you made it back to the motel you were staying. You joined her on the porch, moving your arms around her waist. Lorraine inhaled deeply when you kissed her neck. – “Everything alright love?” – you asked. Lorraine hummed soft with a soft nod. She moved her hands on top of yours around her waist. – “I always am when I have you in my arms.” – she teased making you chuckle.
Lorraine turned round letting her hand brush against your cheek. – “I am so happy with you.” – she spoke. You took her hand lowering it. – “You say that every day.” – you reminded her. – “That is because it is true Y/n.”  - she responded with a faint smile. – “I wouldn’t know what I would do without you.” – she breathed out. – “Miss out on all the love I give you.” – you answered taking her hand.
Bringing it up you gave her body a little nudge so she would twirl underneath your arm. It made her giggle as you took her by the waist. Rocking her body against yours in a dance. Lorraine laughed loud when you started to dance with her. No music, no watchers, just her and you. Dancing with all the love you had for each other. Ending it with a loving kiss.
The next day Lorraine and you were back at the house. You walked up to the house once more hit in the back. This time you felt the impact. As if a bigger stone got thrown against the back of your head. – “Au!” – you called out rubbing your head. You looked down seeing a rock on the ground the size  a golf ball. Your eyes widened seeing a spot of red on it. – “Am I bleeding?” – you yelped out. Lorraine’s eyes widened as well seeing the blood speck on the rock.
She immediately turned you towards her, having a look.  She felt around and indeed her fingers were wet with blood. – “Y/n!” – she panicked. – “It’s fine… I’m fine…” – you told her touching your head. Feeling the slight sting of pain. Finger tops stained with your blood. – “Let’s get you inside.” – Lorraine said taking you by the arm. The two of you walked up to the house. Jumping back when a rooftile dropped at your feet. If Lorraine hadn’t pulled you away, it would’ve hit you on the head. Both of you stared in shock at the roof tile.
“It appears someone doesn’t appreciate my arrival.” – you joked trying to find the humour in it. Lorraine slapped you against your arm. – “Something is trying to hurt you Y/n! We must be cautious.” – she filled in with worry. – “Let them try!” – you shouted loud throwing your first up to the sky. – “Y/n!” – Lorraine shouted pulling your hand down. – “Do not tempt them! They are more powerful than you know.” – Lorraine was glaring at you for attempting to mock them. – “I’m just showing them I’m not backing off.” – you told her.
Lorraine sighed soft. – “Let’s… let’s just not upset them.” – she asked hoping you wouldn’t taunt them more. Knowing how brave you were. Not backing down when some spirit or demon would taunt you. You were always ready to fight them, especially to keep them away from Lorraine. She so hoped you would keep it down. Stepping over the fallen roof tile you entered the house once more.
A different atmosphere hanging around. Yesterday it was still light-hearted. Now it felt heavier. The air harder to breath in. The owners sat in the living room with Lorraine. You stood up right behind her, observing. Watching how she talked to them and sensed her way through.
A sound caught your attention, making you turn your head. Something had been knocked over and you wanted to investigate it. Seeing how Lorraine was still occupied, you decided to go on your own. Leaving the living room you looked around for any clues to what could’ve fallen over. There was another sound drawing you closer. It appeared to come from the basement.
Without any further thought you opened the door. A dark gaping hole staring back at you. You felt at the side for a switch when there was none. So in the dark you went downstairs. Feeling the railing as you went down. Step by step. The darkness swallowing you whole in it’s mouth. Down below it felt cold. So cold your breath formed in front of you. Finding steady ground you moved more to the middle.
Seeing the faint flicker of a metal cord in the darkness. You reached for it, feeling it in your hand. Your breath shuddered as it felt like a presence was behind you. With one hard pull you lighted the small lightbulb above your head. The basement lighted up. It looked less scary in the light. You looked around for anything of significance.
Spotting a few cardboard boxes you knelt down. Moving some old stuff out of the way to reach them. Some had specks of mold below on the edges. You carefully opened one flap of the cardboard box feeling a tingle go up your spine. A cold rush giving you a fright. Sensing something in the corner of your eye, you slowly turned your head. Before you could see it fully a brick got flung at you. Hitting you square in the head, knocking you out.
Your body fell sideways to the ground. Out cold. Upstairs was Lorraine listening to the couple suddenly noticing you were out of her reach. Turning her head with a frown, she wondered where you went. Till a chill went down her spine, making her gasp loud. A grasp of cold wrapping around her throat. It made her jump up. – “Y/n!” – she started calling out.
Taking a run for it she searched around till she noticed the open door to the basement. Her heart dropped feeling something was wrong. – “Y/n!” – she screamed out, running down the stairs. – “Y/n!” – Lorraine panicked nearly missing a few steps. Lorraine came to the basement in full darkness. – “Where is she!” – she called out looking worried around. – “Where is she!” – she screamed out demanding to know where you were. It was clearly taunting with her as she heard a bellowing laughter.
Lorraine revealed her cross necklace. – “You will not have her!” – she yelled holding it tight in her hands. Closing her eyes she thought deep about you. Letting her love for you guide her. Lorraine took a deep breath, taking a few steps. She flicked the lights on having found the metal cord. The lights flashed on as her eyes widened. – “Y/n!” – she screamed going up to you. She dove to her knees pulling onto her lap. Seeing the head wound on you made her scream loud.
She straightened her posture, hardening her expression. – “This will be the last time you taunt anyone. I will cast you from this world and I shall do it with a smile. You hideous creature! I will make sure any existence of you is wiped off this earth.” – she bellowed. The basement felt like shaking. The metal cord bouncing around as dust flew down from between the creaks on the ceiling. – “Lo…Lorraine.” – you slowly gained conscious, waking up.
Lorraine looked down at you with a yelp of relief. You pulled yourself a bit up. Lorraine let her finger brush over your wound. You kissed her hard to cancel out the shaking. Lorraine kissed you hard back wishing for it to go away. The shaking slowed down till it eventually stopped. Lorraine and you pulled away. – “Come for me or my wife again and you will burn for eternity!” – you called out, taunting the demon.
This time Lorraine didn’t discipline you on it. Rather she joined you, calling out her own warning. For if it ever came for you again, it would regret it.

I was wondering if u did lorraine warren x fem reader requests? and if so maybe mdlg kinda vibes ?(:
I don't do female readers or ddlg/mdlg smut, but here's some SFW gn! littlespace headcanons with Lorraine :)
Tumblr media
•She'd know it's coming before you would, already preparing your favorite stuffed animals, blankets, and pajamas. She'd cook your favorite foods, everything she knows you like when in little space for you to come home to
•She brushes your hair out of your face with the most motherly hand. "Such a pretty face," she said, giving your forehead a kiss.
•The cartoons are already on the TV when you get home, dying to regress after a hard day, and your heart melts.
•When you cry, she holds your face and wipes her tears with her thumb
•Loves holding you. She'll cuddle up with you on the couch, kissing your head as you watch cartoons.
•She's a great caretaker. She reads you so easily but leaves the floor open for you to communicate your needs directly. She's so tender in her touch that you swear it was a feather
•She has really soft hands, and when you're in littlespace, she loves putting lotion on your hands in your favorite scents.
•If she knows she's gonna be gone while you're home, she'll spray some of her perfume on your stuffies and make sure that the fridge and pantry are stocked with your safe foods.

Stay with us (part 2)
(part one)
Ed (age 26) X male reader(age 26) X Lorraine Warren( age 25)
Warnings: this is just going to be fluffy and a bit angst
tag list: @wintervenom.
Tumblr media
(3 weeks after the incident) I woke up slowly opening my eyes only to shut them quickly again due to the bright light. I felt a very uncomfortable feeling in my nose and throat I put my hand on my nose only to feel a breathing tube I looked around the room only to find Ed and Lorraine sleeping in the corner I snapped my fingers to try and signal them that I was awake but it didn't work so I said "Ed. Lorraine. I'm okay" I whispered and that was enough to wake them both I was immediately met with hugs and tears from both and once I made eye contact with them both……. I then understood that somebody gave a fuck about me I then felt Lorraine lean over and kiss my cheek making me look at her "Don't do that please" I said as my lip quivered due to the love I had towards them that knew would probably never be returned. I then felt a rough hand on my cheek i looked to my left and saw that it was Ed "Y/n. About your letter. Is that true?" Ed asked me making me look quickly at them both before looking down nodding in shame " Fuck I'm so so sorry guys. It's okay if you guys wanna cut contact with me" I said as I felt a tear run down my cheek but was quickly wiped away by Lorraine who then cupped my face into her hand making me look at her in the eyes. Then unexpectedly she kissed me while Ed held me close scared to lose me " I- w-…w-what?" I said in shock not understanding the situation but then Ed hugged me again squizzing a bit before saying "y/n we love you too" I then felt another tear run down my face.
(time skip to 3 months)
Me, Lorraine, and Ed have started dating but have to hold it a secret due to how much people look down on a truple that a woman can't date two people and how much people look down on two men dating. But when we were for example either in my home or their house we would cuddle, kiss, tell each other 'I love you' and also be able to look at each other without having to hide the love in our eyes. I also started going to therapy and fixing my mental health.
I walked in the door of the warren house and was immediately greeted by Judy who ran to me yelling in happiness "Y/n!!!!!" I quickly lifted the 8-year-old and hugged her then I sat her back down, took off my coat, and went to the kitchen where Ed and Lorraine stood and I quickly was greeted by kisses making me chuckle a bit "So how are you two doing?" I asked while taking a sip of the coffee cup that Ed had prepared for me before I came here "Oh a lot of work… We're heading to the countryside of Burrillville town. Do you mind babysitting Judy for a bit" Ed said and I smiled "Yeah of course I can" I said looking at Judy who was looking at the TV. I then felt a soft hand upon mine " Thank you Y/n that means a lot to us that you're willing to take care of Judy while we're working" Lorraine said to me while smiling before kissing me and I kissed back while smiling a bit into the kiss.
Later that day after spending some time with them they left and I gave them both a goodbye kiss and watched Judy saying goodnight to her parents due to how late it was and that it was time for Judy to go to bed when it was time for them to leave I grabbed Judy from her parents and held her in my arms and I could feel that she was falling asleep already making me chuckle "okay bye goodluck to you two and please try and stay safe" I said to them and watching them drive away then after they were out of sight I closed and locked the door and went upstairs and went to Judy's bedroom while I had her in my arms and when I laid her down onto the bed she woke up and looked at me and said "I love you, papa, goodnight" before falling asleep when she said that it was like being strucked by millions of shock bombs and I sat there for a moment in silence before leaning down kissing the top of her head and whispered "goodnight Judy I love you too" while kissing the top of her head. I stayed there until she fell asleep then I sneaked my way out of her bedroom and went to the guest bedroom and got ready for nighttime.
alright folks this is the end of this story but there will like come like moments between this lovely truple.

I watched Annabelle Comes Home and The Conjuring 3 yesterday. I haven't really paid much attention to them since I saw them in theaters, but I think they reignited my love for this franchise a little bit.
For one thing, this scene absolutely kills me every time:
And then to end it off on a comedic note, with Lorraine admitting that she ran off with Ed for three days when they were young...MY LITTLE SHIPPER HEART CAN'T HANDLE IT.
And then to follow that up with The Devil Made Me Do It, where we just get so much focus on Ed and Lorraine trying to solve this thing together...I dunno, these movies just do it for me.

Honestly, after the bully girls left Sophie in the chapel, I half-expected Valak to manifest, sit her down, and tell her: "Kid, this is getting ridiculous. When will you start hitting back?"
Bonus points, if Sophie's excuse for later getting in a fight is "Mr. Devil said they are stupid bitches, and I should knock their fucking teeth out with a rock."

Your true self (Demon!Reader x Lorraine Moran)

Summary: On a dangerous case, you meet Lorraine Moran and Ed Warren again. Lorraine senses something is off with you, not knowing for sure. It doesn't take her long to figure out your secret. Altough you are a demon, you aren't a bad one. Just trying to change your course of life and protecting Lorraine as she means everything to you. (hurt comfort)
Tumblr media
Red and blue lights flickered against the dark of the night. Hands on your hip, you took a deep sigh staring down. Behind you, you heard doors slam followed by rushed paces on the gravely road. Turning around you saw Lorraine Moran and Ed Warren rush over. With the police lights dancing on your body, you approached them. Hands up stopping them from nearing. – “Hold it right there Lor.” – you said shielding what was behind you with your body. – “I need to see!” – Lorraine called out desperately, bumping against your arm. You held it stiff not letting her pass.
Ed had slowed down staring in disbelief. – “Let me through!” – she demanded getting more desperate to break through your wall. – “It’s not pretty.” – you told her. – “I don’t care! I need to see.” – she went on making you sigh deep, surrendering. – “Alright Lorraine.” – you moved your arm up letting her pass. Not far from you stood a colleague questioning Lorraine’s presence by confirming it with you.
You nodded letting him know you allowed her. Lorraine came to a stop by the body. A sob muffled in her hand. Ed moved his hand desperate through his hair, thinking he should’ve done better. You joined Lorraine’s side staring at the mangled up body. Arms and legs twisted in unnatural ways it was clear no human had done this.
“It’s okay Lorraine.” – you told her. Lorraine turned to look in shock at you. – “How is this okay? I could’ve… I should’ve…” – she answered grasping for a way of control. – “This…” – she looked firmly at the body. – “This is demon’s work.” – she exclaimed making you look away from the body. – “If we had more time… we could’ve saved him.” – She said feeling tears come up. – “It’s not your fault Lor.” – you replied moving an arm over her.
Lorraine gasped feeling a shudder go through her body as it made her flinch away from under your grip. You looked hurtful away, knowing exactly what caused her reaction. – “Lorraine.” – you started with a deep breath. – “What happened tonight is not your fault. I know you want to save everybody, but you must see that you can’t always save them all.” – you explained to her, trying to settle down her nerves. – “No… but I can sure as hell try!” – she said.
You grabbed her by the shoulders, leading her away from the body. Re-grouping back with Ed Warren. – “Officer Y/n.” – Ed began as you already knew what he was going to ask. – “I’ll get to the bottom of this, don’t you worry.” – you reassured him. – “Lorraine will you be alright?” – you asked looking down at her. She seemed to be lost in her thoughts, still under your caring wing.
“Oh uhm yes I’ll be fine Officer.” – she responded half observant. – “Y/n! Lorraine how long do we know each other now. Please no formalities.” – you reminded her. Lorraine gave you a faint smile going from under your arm over to Ed. – “I’ll keep you updated.” – you called out to them, waving them goodbye. Ed moved a comforting arm over her shoulder. Lorraine looking back at you with a furrow on her brows.
You kept your smile up, trying to show a crack of her already known curiosity. Once she had gotten in the car and drove off, you exhaled long. Returning to the body, you knelt down to it. – “Someone truly mangled you up.” – you whispered when no other officers were nearby. Your eyes briefly turned completely black till you blinked a few times and they had a natural color once more. Hearing footsteps approach, you got back up. – “Pack him up.” – you told the upcoming officer. He whistled loud calling a few over to cover up the body and but him in a zip bag.
You went back to your car. Pulling the shield down to look at yourself in the mirror. Staring back at your black eyes. Curling up half a smile at yourself. You loved who you were, there was no changing that. You just hoped it wouldn’t be too obvious to Lorraine. Perhaps she already had her suspicion since she was paranormal sensitive.
You found it half funny that she hadn’t figured out yet that you were a demon. Not the one she was hunting as you gave up on your savage life a long time ago. You walked amongst mortal humans like any normal one would. Doing your humane duty of protecting the innocent. Watching your men pack up, you started the car, driving off.
Lorraine and Ed stared confused at you when you got out of your car. – “Officer what are you doing here?” – Ed questioned when you approached. You came to a stop near them, hands on your gun patch around your waist. – “I’m here to keep you save.” – you told him yet looking over at Lorraine. Lorraine slightly furrowed her brows questionable at you. – “No offense officer, but we don’t think you’ll be of any use to us against this demon.” – Ed explained.
You smiled heartfully at Lorraine. – “You’ll be surprised what I can do…” – you started. Lorraine staring at you, half figuring things out. – “with guns.” – you added later with a chuckle. Ed didn’t have the heart to tell you that guns were useless, so he remained silent. – “Lead on.” – you told them with a gesture of your hand.
Ed and Lorraine went in first. You walked in behind them, admiring the unique ceiling as Lorraine pulled Ed aside. – “I have his strange feeling about Y/n.” – she whispered to him. – “Officer Y/n?” – Ed frowned confused. Lorraine hummed loud as Ed laughed it away. – “It’s just Y/n.” – he told her as they both looked at you. You caught them looking, waving at them with a goofy smile.
“So what are you doing now? Searching for clues on the demon’s name?” – you asked curious. – “The entity could still be in the house.” – Ed answered.  – “Ooh spooky.” – you replied funnily. – “I’ll go with Lorraine.” – you pointed out before anyone could say anything. Ed chuckled as Lorraine smiled shyly at the sudden attention from you. You followed her up the stairs. – “Don’t you worry Lorraine I’ll protect you.” – you reassured her.
Lorraine hummed loud taking the lead. Upstairs you came in the corridor, a few doors at each side. In the midst of the corridor, against the wall hung a mirror. You and Lorraine past it, in sync with your pace. You glanced at yourself in the mirror, seeing your black eyes. It made you quickly look away, casting your gaze down. Hoping Lorraine hadn’t seen it. Lorraine stared at you, linking stuff in her brain. – “What?” – you told her. – “Nothing.” – Lorraine answered pointing at a door she wanted to go in. You followed her keeping a watchful eye around you.
The door opened as you peeked inside over her shoulder. – “So uhm… with the body… nothing out of the ordinary came out.” – you told her casually looking at some books on the shelf. Glancing over your shoulder you saw Lorraine touch certain items. Biting your lip you wanted to help her out so desperately. Tell her the name of the demon who had possessed the man and killed him in the process.
You wanted to tell her it was that pathetic idiot of a demon you knew. Wanting to do it subtle, you took a book. Opening it as you moved your hand to your pocket. Making sure Lorraine wasn’t watching as you slipped the note with the demon’s name on it between the pages. You quickly shut it. Holding the book behind your back, you went over to Lorraine.
You came standing behind her by the desk setting the book on the desk. – “What’s this?” – Lorraine questioned. – “This?” – you said holding the book up. – “Nothing I guess, just some dusty old book.” – you told her offering her slightly the book. Lorraine took the book from you, opening it instantly at the page with the note. She picked it up, recognizing your handwriting as her eyes slowly widened. She lowered the book in her hand, letting her gaze go up to you in shock.
Her expression made you a bit uncomfortable. – “What’s the matter Lor?” – you asked. – “You’re a demon.” – she expressed as it startled you. Making your eyes flash to a black before you could control it. It made Lorraine gasp even louder, stumbling back. – “No…no wait Lorraine!” – you called out. Looking at the note, she read the name, showing it back to you. – “Is this your real name?” – she shouted. – “No!” – you yelled back. – “I gave you that information to help. Lorraine I only want to help you!” – you said to reason with her.
Lorraine kept shaking her head creating an even larger distance between the two of you. – “You killed him!” – she spitted at you. – “No! I didn’t!” – you called out wanting to be heard. – “I’m not him! I’m not this…” – you flashed your eyes to black to her, letting her see your true self. – “Not anymore…” – you finished with a heavy sigh. – “I’m…I’m not the boogieman you claim me to be.” – it felt pointless at this point to try and convince her.
You let yourself lean against the desk. – “After decades of shit! Pure miserable shit I had enough. Enough of being controlled and controlling others. No matter how hard I try to be something I’m not, I’ll never be anything more but a demon. A low life demon. Grasping for something I will never be able to touch.” –
Lorraine slowly approached you sensing the hurt in you. – “All that bloodshed…” – you spoke looking at your own hands. – “That wasn’t me… it’s not.” – you noticed Lorraine coming closer. – “It’s not me Lorraine. I only try to protect you… because I care for you.” – you spoke with tears in your dark pools. Lorraine came standing before you, reaching her hand out to you. The second she touched your cheek; you tore your face away from her. Ashamed.
Lorraine grabbed you by the chin, turning your face to her. Blackened eyes blinked at her. Her expression neutral till she softened up a smile. – “We don’t choose who we are.” – she spoke. – “What matters is who we choose to be.” – she finished letting her hand slide down your cheek. It made you stare in wonder at her. Wonder at how she didn’t seemed afraid of who you were or your appearance.
She leaned closer, letting her body fall against yours as her arms went around you. Still feeling like this was a dream, you hugged her hesitantly back. Feeling how tightly her embrace was. You hugged her tightly back fallen even more in love with her. Lorraine let go of you as you grabbed her by her chin, surprising her.
Her cheeks flushed red when you smirked at her. Lips very close to hers. – “Thanks Lorraine. You’re my doll.” – you whispered to her. You let go of Lorraine walking off. Lorraine swallowed nervously feeling hot and if she had to admit it a tat attracted to you once she knew.

Serpent Tongue: Valak x reader, Ed Warren x reader
Title: Serpent Tongue
Fandom: The Conjuring (particularly part two, and 'the devil made me do it').
Summary: Valak has his eyes set on a particular brand of torture for the Warrens, involving the protégé that is staying in their guestroom. As helpful as the protégé is to the family, this web of complications may just unhinge everything the Warrens have ever worked for. Temptations become more difficult to ignore, and Valak is not the only one to indulge.
Warnings: 18 +. dub-con, perhaps even non-con depending on interpretation. Sexually explicit content. Rough fucking. Reader is female. Cheating. Degredation. Oral (m receiving), penis in vagina sex. Open ending.

I don’t remember how it started. Surely, it was gradual. A secret that grew unnoticed, like a missing hair pin, missing but not missed, nothing big by itself. In the shadows it lived and became more than just a shadow and it spoke to me.
A body pressed against mine at night, in the guest room of a house that should be cleansed of anything evil. A priest blessed it twice a week, and Ed and Lorraine swore it was safe. And if anything was there, she would sense it, and deal with it. Still, it was there, hidden from Lorraine’s gifts, and I sensed it grow stronger over time. The whispers grew louder, the shadows darkened, the touches grew firmer. The temptations… worsened.
.
“What is your name?” I asked it one night. The weight next to me shifted, a grip on my wrist. It was too dark to really make anything out, yet a pair of yellow eyes stared into mine, just centimetres away. My wrist lifted, moved over my head.
“You smell of blood tonight,” was all I received in return. Even when it released my wrist, I wasn’t in control. It was dream-like. As if consequences didn’t exist. A nose nudged mine and my eyes fluttered shut. A long, thin finger slid down my belly, over my pubic hair, until it reached my folds.
“You’ll surely be disappointed to know I’m only menstruating, and not mortally wounded.”
A quiet laugh sounded. “Shh, I’ll relieve the pain for you.” And the finger curled against a spot that had me whimpering.
.
During the day, at the library, I felt the presence weighing down each stack of books I moved. The medieval scripts were almost second nature. When I wrote down my name, I elongated the s just like they did. When returning home, my hands were dry from the frequent washing, to make sure the books wouldn’t degrade from the oils on our fingers. At home, it was my turn to cook. Lorraine had taken Judy out for a walk, it was such lovely weather, the tail-end of summer. Jackets left at home. I chopped the carrots with rhythmic precision, hoping to get done on time before Ed got home.
The front door opened and closed, shoes taken off, footsteps.
“In the kitchen,” I called, moving to the stove to stir the onions sizzling in the pan.
Two arms wrapped around my waist. His cologne.
“Hmm, smells good already. Is Lorraine out with Judy?” The vibrations of his voice carried through his chest and into my back. Ed brushed my braid over my shoulder, resting his chin on my crown.
“They’re on a walk,” I replied, trying to continue on cooking. It wasn’t new that he made me nervous, but his affections were changing. He squeezed me into him tightly, before letting go.
“Had a good day today?”
“I suppose. Same old, same old,” I peeked over my shoulder at him. He leant against the counter, arms crossed, looking at me but not at my eyes. “Lizette said that they have an interesting manuscript coming in next week, but there’s been some delays. We’ll see once it gets there, though, if it really has something to offer.”
Before either of us could say anything more, the front door clattered open and the two returned from their walk and the conversation turned to more cheerful things.
.
That night, the eyes and whispers were back.
“Won’t you afford me one night of peace?” I sighed, finding my breath halted by its proximity.
“It fascinates me how you much you know about me and my kin, yet are so susceptible to temptation.” A hand on my throat, a the pad of a clawed thumb touched my lips.
I scoffed at its words.
“A non-believer, even after all you witnessed,” it continued. “You fascinate me in many ways.”
Suppressing a yawn – it must be after midnight by now – I asked: “How so?”
“I’d almost take it as flattery, how you spend all that time researching me. All those books you search for, that thirst for knowledge – yet I’m right here, always.”
“What is your name?” I tried again, as I did almost every night.
“Wouldn’t that make it easy for you, hmm? No. You enjoy the challenge, but don’t desire the power that comes with the knowledge of my name. You do it for them.”
To devote my life to the Warren’s cause, that was the condition on inhabiting the guest room. To take care of Judy when they were on a case. To do their research, to take care of the house, to be an extra pair of eyes and hands. But all I am is an extra weakness.
The demon huffed, heated breath fanning my face. “You’re no fun today. Tired?”
“Yes,” I replied sharply.
“Why don’t you think of me a little longer?” it murmured, and the heat of his lips connected to mine. The taste of ashes was still there when I woke up.
.
Another day, a gloomy one. Autumn approached us. Lizette rapped her knuckles against the heavy oaken door of the small room I sat in. The Latin on the page made my head swim, but all I could think of were Lorraine (her glances around the room, to just behind me) and Ed (his health), who were out on a case. Somewhere two states away. It felt wrong to be so far from them, but life trudges on.
“The manuscript you wanted came in a few days ago. Something went wrong with the system, so I wasn’t notified. Would you like to see it now?” she said.
“Yeah, I’ll pick it up. Can’t focus today. Have you had a look at it yet?”
“Ah, a bit, yeah. Neat hand, and it was later edited by another scribe, which is always interesting. It has parts in Latin and in common.”
I stood up, closing the book I was reading in and coiling the string of weights into a spiral. “Not just another one with the 8th century date-rape drugs?”
She barked out a laugh. “Perhaps.”
The book was interesting, went in-depth about the rituals to summon demons. Some of the names I recognised from the Ars Goethia or from other manuscripts upon a first look through the thick pages. If the copy machine wasn’t still broken, I’d have made copies for at home.
.
Once home, the routine continued. The sizzling of meat in the pan, green beans boiling in the pot next to it; Ed pressing a lingering kiss to my hairline when Lorraine turned her back. I sprinkled parsley from the backyard garden over the potatoes and we sat down to eat.
.
Lorraine stopped me, in the morning. It was Saturday. Judy had climbed into bed with Ed and they had a lie in, but she had been too awake to go back to sleep and went down for coffee. Finding me in the kitchen, gold rimmed teacup in a trembling hand.
“Good morning,” we exchanged greetings. She seemed tired.
“Wouldn’t you like to sleep some more? Its only 7:30,” I said.
Lorraine shook her head with gentle smile, putting her cup of hot coffee down on the table as she sat down. “Let the two of them have their lay-in without me tossing and turning. How about you, what’s got you up this early?”
Couldn’t help but glance around, check the shadows, but likely he was listening. “The demon you had me research… It feels like I hit a roadblock. I’m sorry I can’t be of any use lately.”
She shifted in her seat, folding her hand over mine, warm with residual heat from the coffee cup. “Dear, why didn’t you tell me how you were feeling earlier? You mean so much to us, even when you’re just here, even if you don’t find anything worthwhile in your research.” She sighed softly, eyes warm, gave my hand a squeeze. “Judy loves having you here too, she said she likes how calm you are, that you don’t make her feel like a freak.”
We chuckled. “Thank you.”
A shadow behind Lorraine moved, but it was gone before I could focus on it. I hesitated. “There’s another thing, too. Have you noticed anything different lately?”
She sat up straight, retracted her hand. Even despite the care she showed others, she guarded herself well.
“What do you mean? If I’ve had any visions?”
I nodded.
She shifted again. “What kinds of visions?”
Avoiding her gaze, I instead focussed on the teacup in front of me. “Do you remember the painting Ed made? The one in-”
“In his office? Yeah.”
“That’s the demon you’re having me research, isn’t it? That’s what you want me to focus on. But the way he appears there is not his real form, so you didn’t tell me.”
She twirled her wedding ring around her finger. “Yes, it is. There is… history there. Finding out anything at all about him is valuable. The fact Ed dreamed about him is already worrying, and now that you’re asking if I’ve noticed anything different makes me believe you have seen him too.”
My voice dropped low, “Only his eyes.”
Her head cocked to the side, examining me, as if she looked right through me.
I shrugged. “And the usual, shadows, noises. Nothing much, but if I can sense it, I’m sure you’re bothered by it even more.”
.
The night was darker than usual. Awoke to breathing by my ear. Attempting to wave it away and turn on my side was met with pinned hands – fingers interlaced - and a deep kiss to my lips. A forked tongue against mine. I panted as it let up, threw my head back to avoid another lengthy kiss.
“You’re quiet,” I taunted. “Anything the matter?” The venom seeped through my voice. Another punishing kiss. Its teeth cut my lip, copper mixing with the taste of fire. I inhaled sharply as it sucked my lip, darting that split tongue over it. When those yellow eyes bore into mine, I realised they were previously closed and it seemed like it was genuinely enjoying this.
“What is this for?” I hissed, angry at my previous thought.
Finally the demon spoke. “He wants you,” its voice gravelly, something ancient. “I can taste his need, and his guilt.”
Its words felt significant somehow, as if they betrayed something more of its nature.
“You want this to happen. You want him to-”
“Yes? Say it, doll.”
“To hurt Lorraine.”
“Intimately,” it agreed, and kissed me again. A tear leaked from the corner of my eye. His hooked nose rubbing against mine, breathing the same air. It was hot, unbearably hot, underneath the duvet.
“You won’t break her.”
“I’m almost disappointed,” he whispered, voice hoarse, “it seems you’ve given up so easily.”
An unseen force parted my thighs, the weight of him increased, as if he only now became fully corporeal. A knee finding the right pressure to grind against my vulva.
“Never,” I said, before arching up and biting his bottom lip.
.
Lorraine visited family with Judy, but Ed remained home. He needed the rest, for his health. I flipped through the scans of the manuscript I made. The radio played something soft, something acoustic. Ed looked up from his book to where I sat by the window, his forehead creasing as I caught his gaze.
“Anything interesting in those pages? Come, let me see.” He motioned me over, and I stood up. The alternative would be worse, but the dread in my stomach mixed well into something resembling arousal. Before I could reach the couch next to the chair he sat in, he pulled me down to sit onto his knee, in between his legs. This was fine, this was just- just a thing any fatherly figure would do. Right?
His easy-going smile, the one that won Lorraine over, and his bright blue eyes were for me then. I bit my lip and spread some of the more interesting pages out over his other leg, putting the rest of the stack on the coffee table.
“There are inconsistencies between the original text and the later edits, but it’s difficult to discern. I’m guessing there’s at least a century between the edits, but some seem to be made much later if I look at the script.”
He looked over the passages I pointed too. “The editor was messy.” His hand, big, warm, rested at the small of my back. Even that contact sparked a flurry of butterflies to erupt.
“Messy, but experienced. Even when taking the rhetoric of the time into account, he details several attempts he made, and of why he thinks the experiments didn’t work.”
“Hmm, interesting,” he said, before shifting in the chair, sitting up straighter. The paper forgotten, flittering somewhere to the floor. His other hand on my knee.
My mouth opening as if to say something, which he caught, his expression turning sly. Hand from knee up to shoulder, to cheek, to the back of my neck. I braced myself against the back of the chair as he tipped my balance over, enough to fall into him, weight crashing into his broad chest.
A messy kiss, teeth clashed from the surprise of tumbling. I braced my forearms against the back of the chair, chests pressed together. A forceful hand tipping my face to deepen the kiss. He tasted of coffee, warm, human. With a start I realised I hadn’t kissed another human being in over a year. Ed pulled back, resting his forehead against mine.
“You have no idea how long I’ve been waiting to do that.”
“Fuck,” I mumbled.
He chuckled. “You’re more than this good girl façade you show us, ain’t you?” Nipped my lip. “Well, show me.”
.
Showering that evening, alone. The water rushed over my face, I squeezed my wet hair and scrubbed my scalp. The lights flickered briefly and I felt it close in on me.
“Your guilt tastes different from his,” it spoke, disembodied. Lights went dim, I pushed open the shower curtain, saw the switch flip off.
“Quit messing around,” I protested, almost believing I deserved the torture for what I did. Expecting it to taunt me so more, then leave, I continued showering.
From the shadows formed a shape, something that sucked all light into it, something impossible to focus on. The eyes were brighter than ever, and it stepped behind the shower curtain, into the small space of the bath with me.
“You taste… sweet.” Clawed hands reached out to me, spun me around, my back to its chest. “Sweet and sticky, like honey. Can you see how my hands are coated in it?” A dreamy sigh, hands kneading my hips. Trying my damnest to ignore him, I rinsed all shampoo from my hair, then reached for the body wash. It was the one Lorraine used, vanilla and magnolia blossom scented.
“That’s just the soap,” I replied stubbornly, tone bitter. “You’re showing off, I take it you’ve been eating well?”
The creature was so tall it enveloped me, bending over to kiss and lap its forked tongue at my wet skin as I soaped myself. “He was the meal, you’re the dessert. Now I’m wishing I hadn’t had so much of him, so I could enjoy you more.”
Its groping hands made cleaning myself frustrating; they were quick to return each time I pushed them off. When I elbowed him, that was when the jig was up. A low growl, inhuman, dangerous, and instead of a tongue, now it was teeth and claw. A pull at my hair, making me look up into its demonic face as it hung above me, and punished me with a kiss that made my lips bleed. In panic, I turned the nob, the water briefly scalding hot before I managed to turn it off. Heaving, pressed my hand to my bleeding lips, and the demon had vanished.
.
Both of them grew bolder. For Ed, there was only one boundary: not in the their bed. Anywhere else, though, was fair game.
The Sunday chores; laundry day. I was at the ironing board, positioned one of his button ups, before pressing the hot iron into each crevice. His big hands over the sensitive spot where the demon clawed at my hips the night before, so I brought one of them up to my breast. He took to it greedily, kissing my ear and neck.
“Look at you, bein’ all good for me. I’m glad I’m the only one who can see this side of you,” he said, hot by my ear, before suddenly stopping and turning me around.
“Honey, what are those? Are those bitemarks?” he asked, voice alarmed, rubbing the spot at the crook of my neck. “What could have done this?”
I shrugged, avoiding his eyes. “It’s nothing.” Unconvincing. Terrible performance. I sighed, daring one look at his worried face. “Ed, do you remember the demon that you painted?”
“It was a demon? Oh, little one,” his voice lowered. “I knew there was more to you,” a growl, eyes burning with something animalistic. The shift felt unnatural. “Has it tasted you like I taste you now?”
I whimpered into his mouth as his hand constricted around my throat. Hand digging into the raw skin where he first spotted the marks, he pushed me down on my knees.
“You witch, I can’t believe we’ve let a temptress stay in our home.” The edge to his voice was dangerous, cruel. It crushed my heart, although it was foolish of me to hope he really did care for me.
“Ed, please,” I tried, but was met with the unbuckling of his belt.
.
The demon was delighted that night. It rubbed the bruises from Ed’s hands on my hips, right by its own claw marks. The yellow surrounded by darkness, the lifting of the duvet to make space for its body. Its new, corporeal body.
“Doesn’t it feel good to be desired? Wasn’t that what you wanted, to be needed so deeply?”
I gasped against its cheek as it pressed down on a bruise.
“You liked him right from the beginning, and now you’re getting to know the real him. The side of him he can’t show to that lovely wife.”
“You’re cruel,” I bit out, exhausted from the day, “and unfair. This isn’t the real Ed.”
The demon laughed. “I can see into his soul. He wanted you for so long… You, on your knees. Getting to call you all sorts of filthy names, my sweet witch, the one to aid my will. You may as well give me more now, he already thinks you’re mine.”
Hair brushed from my face, forked tongue dancing over closed lips. So tired that I opened up and let him indulge.
He hummed. “Delicious. Why don’t you go to sleep, doll? Let me help you to sleep. It’s only fair I reward you for doing so well.”
And he did, making my head swim, stealing my breath with kisses, rocking its cock in and out, slow, deep, making my toes curl even when half-asleep.
.
Quickies were Ed’s favourite. Any opening to shove himself into me was taken with glee. Somehow he was exactly the same as he always was, when we weren’t alone. A wink during dinner sometimes, or an extra hand on my back. If Lorraine noticed, she didn’t let it show. There was barely anything to notice, Ed was the perfect husband.
But with me, he was unbelievably different.
“Say you want it, whore,” he bit out between clenched teeth from behind me. The vase on the kitchen table wobbled with each thrust. Roses Ed gave to Lorraine after their anniversary last week.
I gripped the table for some semblance of support and did as he demanded. “Fuck me, please, I need you to take me.”
His gruff voice by my ear. “You feel so good, you succubus bitch. Don’t even have the dignity to feel guilty for tempting a man of god.”
I couldn’t help pushing myself up and turning my upper body toward him. “Ha, you’re weak of flesh, then.”
A smack to my ass, stinging even as his hand returned to the back of my neck. “Open your mouth,” his barely restrained anger distorting his voice, each thrust drove against the mouth of my womb, painful but so good. My eyes wide, trying to control my spasms each time he pounded my insides, I opened up.
With just a movement of his lips as warning, he spit in my mouth. The act of it was obscene, but I moaned before realising it, eyes unfocussed.
Each time he worked me over, I saw stars, and when my mind refocused, the normal, adoring Ed returned. He held me after, on the couch, legs slung over his, petting my head.
“It will be alright, don’t you worry, my little one,” he whispered softly as his steady movements brought me down from whatever high I was on.
“I’m still worried,” I said.
“No need, love.” He pressed a kiss to my temple. He was warm. His fingers smelled of newspaper ink, I kissed each of them. “We’re a strong team, and I’m so grateful you came to us.”
.
The demon showed a tenderness that Ed didn’t seem capable of when we were intimate.
“You’ve ruined my life,” I told the yellow eyes, before turning on my side, trying to sleep. Trying to refuse him with the little means I had against a demon.
“I’ve given you everything you wanted. I fulfil your every desire, and even now,” a clawed hand opened my legs, the shadow above me kissed its way down my neck, “after such mean words, I’ll satisfy you some more.”
“It’s only a matter of time before Lorraine finds out. Or I’ll tell her. And then I’ll be thrown out and you’ll lose your plaything.”
He laughed, the sound vibrating through the hollow in my lungs. Mouth went down, spending extra time on each nipple, forked tongue flicking the sensitive nub, before licking down my stomach. “It’s amusing you think I’d let you go so easily. You’ll be by my side, as I sit on my throne in hell. I’ll have you then too, for the rest of eternity.”
I scoffed, before the words seeped in fully, then stopped. His tongue lapped at my heat, his hands keeping my hips steady.
“You’re too perfect like this.”
.
When Lorraine found out, it was somehow worse than I imagined. ‘It was the demon that corrupted us,’ said Ed, ‘I never wanted to. She looked just like you to me.’
And she believed him.

I love how there's zero fear on Irene's face, as she stands before Valak. It seems, instead of breaking her, or even wounding her, the experience in St. Cartha made a diamond of her.
