I don't think this connection is ever explicitly made in the game, but The Expression has got to be at least partially the result of Harry's partial paralysis from polio, right? We know he mostly recovered, but it still affects his face enough to impact his speech.

Anyway I like to make myself sad by thinking about Harry not quite being able to emote in a socially acceptable way his whole life, and how that must have impacted how he comes off to the people around him. No wonder he grew a mustache that hides a lot of his face, and tried to pick up Guillaume Le Million's famous charming (?) smile and just kinda stuck with that for decades.
