so ya boi has been super depressed, like clinically, for way longer than usual and it led to me heading down to the local psych urgent care for an evaluation today

During the eval, which was over zoom, the person assessing me asked me if I keep any "gods or ancestral gods" in the house.

I'm thinking "weird question for a psych eval, but okay sure", and I get about two sentences into describing my weird pagan ways before she leans into her screen and says "GUNS. Do you keep any G U N S or have ACCESS TO GUNS in the house."

The tempests and storms that lurk just beneath Halsin's skin; how ferociously he defends those who cannot defend themselves; how protection and defense is sometimes messy and blurry and blinded by fury even when coming on the heels of passion; how he chooses to be placid and calm and gentle - how he insists that violence is not always the answer - but poke the bear one too many times and he will maul you, no hesitation.

ouhh..... what if the scientists like, also released more prey into the forests or something and the cats became suspicious.... what would the scientists do if one of the clan cats specifically came to them for help for whatever reason?

You have to remember they are researchers. They are interacting with wild animals, and aren't trying to ruin their data with interference like that.

They don't give food gifts, flood the forest with animals (except when other conservation efforts overlap), or attempt to acclimate Clan cats to humans. This fear of people is considered a good thing; it would be very bad for cats to rely on humans or interact with hikers regularly.

(Even SkyClan can end up on thin ice with their willingness to steal and beg.)

So it's unlikely the Clan cats come up to ask for help and that is a positive. If it did happen, they may do the bare minimum (like when a shark asks a human to remove a fishhook), and then write it down in their notes.

But hikers are given a LOT of warnings, and even fined, for bothering the wildlife. Clan cats WILL hurt you if you grab them. You're encouraged to only walk and camp in marked areas.

The cats aren't the only reason for that either!

Sanctuary Lake boasts a sizeable boar population, a red deer herd, over a dozen species of protected songbirds, badgers, otters, foxes, and beavers were (indirectly) re-introduced.

Motor boats are also banned in the lake, to protect water quality. The water is so pure that it's able to host the endangered Freshwater Pearl Mussel, and probably has its own species of endemic fish.

So in a nutshell; no. The Clan cats are not messed with. Interaction is kept distant very purposefully.

Were Plant Bear

Monster plant bear coming out earlier than Halloween this year I didn’t use reference it probably needs editing lol

So I recently learned how to spin yarn, and I'm enjoying it immensely. But yesterday I was at the craft store before work, and I saw this:

And I thought "that looks enough like roving that I bet I could spin it", so I got it, knowing full well that my one spindle is already engaged in spinning some wool.

Because I also thought "people were spinning fluff into string for thousands of years before they were able to just buy a new spindle, it can't be that hard to make one".

Turns out, it's not.

Is this going to be a good spindle? Almost certainly not, and I can't wait to see how much it sucks and in what ways. But it should at least be a functional spindle, and that's all I really need for this.
