Another fundraiser I trust!
He has a tumblr, and it seems he's very new to it and doesn't know how to use it properly so he ends up looking like a bot but dw he is legit. I had a long conversation with Mahmoud over DM's just to go over everything. It all checks out. Please consider donating to get his family out of Ghazzah! Additionally, his brother-in-law is special needs and cannot be taken care of in a tent!

what's going on in the congo since there's also a genocide happening over there as well:
to sum it up, people in the congo are literally being worked as slaves to mine for this material called coltan, which is very valuable as its used for things like phones, laptops, just electronics in general. Congo is the number 1 producer for this material and the places behind this genocide is America, Britain, France, and Israel, wow what an absolute shocker. The worst places probably to ever exist benefit from a genocide. These places are funding Rwanda and Uganda military groups, to go into the Congo and kill MILLIONS of people. This has also been going on for YEARS. Many women have been SA'd and men are forced to work in INHUMAN conditions, resulting in their death and the colonizers are absolutely benefitting from this. 6 MILLION people have been killed and half of them are literally kids. Many of the Congolese people have also been displaced.
Please speak out about and raise your voice

🚨EMERGENCY! PLEASE READ!🚨
Moataz @moatazart, Mariam, and baby Maria are set to make the dangerous journey from Gaza City in the north to Rafah in the south. From there, God willing, they will enter Egypt.
HOWEVER, the money they had allocated to procure shelter and food while in Egypt was utterly depleted by exploitative fees and hidden costs, which we break down in this post. Moataz speaks more on the situation in this post and on his own blog @moatazart, which we ask people to follow and boost. They have a fund going to raise the remaining money, but the fund only has a week and a half left before it closes! They are not even halfway to their goal!
Please share what you can with Moataz’s family so they can find safety and security in Egypt! They have no one in Egypt with whom they can stay and currently nowhere near enough money to secure shelter! After all they have survived, please don’t let this young family be left vulnerable! If they cannot procure food and shelter, they will be extremely vulnerable not only to the dangers of homelessness, but to groups and individuals who prey on refugees!
Safety for Gazan refugees does not end with leaving Gaza! If this campaign is not finished in LESS THAN 2 WEEKS, they will be homeless in Egypt! They are so close to a fresh start, please don’t let all the risks they are taking to find safety be for nothing!

This bloodbath has gone on for far too long. At the start of this aggression, the school year had barely just started. The academic year ends in just a month. Everyone, from first graders to university seniors, have lost an entire year at least. I say at least considering even if there is a ceasefire today, Israel had destroyed literally all universities in Gaza and damaged over 400 schools. Lest we forget also Israel's deliberate targeting of university professors and academics.
You absolutely cannot mistake the intent behind all of this.

JUST NOW: the reports of what cops around the country are doing to students is fucking disturbing. a comrade with pots (postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome) at arizona state university went into syncope during the police raid of their encampment. street medics attempted to administer aid/keep her safe and were arrested, police then proceeded to ARREST THE GIRL WITH POTS WHILE SHE WAS BARELY FUCKING CONSCIOUS

While we're at it: using language that downplays genocide is a form of genocide denial.
Joe Biden isn't doing a bad job, Joe Biden is providing material support for genocide.
Israel isn't handling the situation badly, Israel is committing genocide.
Employing euphemisms minimizes the reality of this genocide. It's disrespectful and dangerous.
If you are more uncomfortable with the word genocide than you are with the reality of genocide, then you are not prepared to be part of any serious discussion. Work on that on your own time.

They’ll never see this but every day I have endless love and admiration for the organizers of the Palestine solidarity movement in my state. I’m so honored to be part of this movement and sharing this space with y’all. You inspire me every day to do more, to be bolder and braver and louder. To be more myself. To be fiercer in my commitment and my morals and values. To lean into my identity and embrace who I am and where I came from. To test my limits and expand my horizons and to do things I never thought I’d be brave enough to do. you, my fellow organizers, have given me community and belonging and friendship. You have given me clarity of mind and soul. You have given me confidence and support and a place to be myself and grow into a new, fuller, more complete version of myself. you have given me the space and helped me grow into the person I always dreamed of being. every day you inspire me. Every day you give me love and support and friendship and a place to belong completely as I am.
my fellow organizers, you are an amazing group of people. but my god do you make me worry. you sacrifice time and money and sanity and so so so much sleep for the movement. It is a labor of love. Yet still I worry about you all. You beautiful people who stay up until all hours of the night planning actions, making calls, coordinating donations, and bail funds, and legal defenses, who run campaigns and risk arrest, who write speeches and mobilize people and phone bank, and bring people together. You who stay out all night marshaling, and get up at the crack of dawn to do the same, who drive miles and miles to pick up supplies and people, who offer rides and bring food, and give every minute of your free time and every cell in your body to this movement, and make sure everyone else is okay. You who put your bodies on the line, and brave the cold and the dark, and the consequences. May fellow organizers, my friends, my community, I worry about you. because you all show up for everyone else but never yourselves. I worry about you because I love and respect and admire you all. I worry about you because we organizers are a self-destructive self-sacrificial bunch. We push ourselves and push ourselves and then push ourselves some more. I worry about you because someone has to and because I love you all so dearly. You people who have given me so much.

@wizard_bisan1 and AJ+ have been nominated for a Peabody Award for her coverage of Gaza. ⁣
For over 6 months, Bisan Owda has shown the world how life in Gaza has been through her eyes. She has told the story of Palestinian survival in the face of the Israeli genocide. ⁣
Before Oct. 7, Bisan was making films about cultural life in her native Gaza for her own YouTube channel. ⁣
In 2023, AJ+’s @denatakruri won a Peabody Award for her story “One Day in Hebron,” which gave a firsthand account of the Israeli occupation in Hebron, in the occupied West Bank. ⁣

Among those arrested in Atlanta today were Noelle McAfee, Chair of the Philosophy Department at Emory University. You can hear her ask the PhD student taking the video:
“Can you call the Philosophy Department office and tell them I’ve been arrested?...I’m Noelle McAfee, I’m Chair of the Philosophy Department”

When I made this post just ten days ago, it was about mass graves discovered at Al Shifa hospital and now we have learned that the same had happened at Nasser hospital in Gaza. The same genocidal pattern: a hospital is put under siege, patients and medical staff are abducted, tortured and buried in mass graves.
But to build on the last point I wanted to bring attention to in the previous post, it is very crucial to also keep in mind is that the Palestinian Civil Defence have reported that Israel had deliberately concealed the identities of those it killed and buried in these mass graves. Close to 400 bodies have been buried in these mass graves, 58% of the recovered bodies have not been identified.
In a press conference, a spokesperson of the civil defence in Gaza said that Israel had intentionally disfigured the bodies postmortem in order to remove any identifying markers such as birthmarks. He also mentioned that they suspect that the bodies have been placed in body bags that expedited the decomposition process, destroying any possibility of them being identified.
One of the main and only ways families have been able to identify the bodies of their loved ones is through the clothes they remember them wearing the last time they saw them. I saw a video of a mother identifying her son by his striped jacket. You can see the grief mixed with relief that she will be able to give her son proper burial.
Remember when months ago I said that to be identified and buried in Gaza has become a luxury? This is very much still the case.
